We have booked the apartment Agapi for 9 nights through Expedia/ Vbro which was by far the best price. We are so happy to have booked this place. Authentic crecian Villa with outbuildings . They have 5 different size apartments. It’s a Boutique Aparthotel. No food provided but all apartments have a kitchen. There was some appreciated welcome items such as juice, water , tea, coffee and fresh fruit from their own garden. The apartment is kitted out and has a lovely private terrace. Everything is very clean . The smell of flowers and herbs is divine. Yes, there is the highway close by and you can hear it a little, but it does not spoil the experience of this beautiful special place. You will need a rental car. And it’s only a five minute drive down to the main coast road. Another highlight is the ginger cat who loves to pop in for a treat 🐱. The owners live in the main house , a very friendly elderly couple. You see him around, watering plants, cleaning around the pool early morning. Their daughter runs the place and is easily available on WhatsApp . I can wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are looking for a tranquil authentic away from the crowds place to stay

- margarethelens (10/5): Recommended! - A peaceful and delightful haven run by a discrete and helpful elderly couple. Beautiful and roomy apartments with garden and pool. Well-equipped. No children's pool so more suited to adults and older children who can swim, but there is a playing corner in the garden for small children. Kitchen with microwave and cooker. Possible to handwash clothes and dry on rack on terrace, or speak to the host for the use of a washing machine. Plenty of sunbeds available at the pool, with cushioned mattresses to put on them. Necessary to have a rental car, as it's quite a walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. Excellent, comfortable Tempur mattresses!

Ikke barnebasseng, så egner seg best til voksne eller par med spebarn eller eldre barn som kan svømme. Kjøkkenet har mikrobølgeovn samt komfyr med stekeovn. Stativ til klestørk på terrassen, håndvask går utmerket, men også mulig å låne vaskemaskin ved henvendelse til vertskapet. Anbefales å ha en leiebil da stedet ligger et stykke unna stranden og butikker. Komfortable Tempur-madrasser, så her sover man godt!

- shandy92922016 (10/5): "Wonder-woman is not just a Marvel charterer & she lives in Crete - Wonder-woman is not just a Marvel charterer" The Mrs and I’s recent holiday to Crete was meant to be some serious R&R after a recent bereavement and work pressures. We scanned the internet via AirB&B and came across this delightful villa which is part of a small boutique hotel called Metohi Georgila, owned and run by Areti and her parents along with supporting smiles from her two beautiful and well behaved young daughters. To say we had a few issues getting to the villa would be an understatement, not because it’s hard to find or anything to do with Areti far from it it was all to do with the UK bank systems being down and rental cars …….. I digress. Anyway we eventually arrived and were warmly greeted by Areti and introduced to a fantastically well-presented villa complex. Areti speaks the most amazing English and explained all about the villa, local area and which restaurant’s where best to savour. The Villa is well proportioned and decorated in a modern yet regionally sympathetic style with every possible amenity including little extras of homemade cordial and biscuits. The rooms were immaculately clean and I am a bit of a perfectionist. The rooms all have vaulted ceilings and there was not a cobweb in sight. On our third day Areti even phoned the local vehicle hire shop and managed all the negotiation for us. We hired the bike and had two days of great fun but on the third day we were unfortunately involved in a serious accident, resulting in severe bruising to my chest and my good lady badly breaking two bones in one leg. This is when Areti AKA as Wonder-woman came in to being. She was devastated once she heard the news and within two hours later she was then in the hospital by our side (some 25Km away from the villa). With her came clean clothes, homemade snacks and a selection of toiletries all at her own expense. She then spent many hours comforting and consoling and just holding my Mrs’s hand even when she was asleep. For the next 8 days Wonder-woman as I will now refer to Areti from now on it, came every day and spent 2/3 hours with us just to make sure we had everything we needed and to help with the language translation in order to make our experience of Greek Healthcare more straightforward. Note…. Please get travel insurance as Greece does not have the NHS, is extremely limited in resources but does have an experienced medical team. We owe many thanks for the warm respect and technical care shown to us. Back to Wonder-woman, her family and their beautiful home open for you all to share. A heart felt thank you for all your support and your love. You are now a friend for life. We have remained in daily contact since returning to the UK and are planning to return to her fantastic villa with our close family and friends next year to get married and have the party of a life time with her and her gorgeous girls. See you very soon Wonder-woman xxx

It’s also a short walk to the Maleme tavernas and beach, plus the bus to Chania stops very close by. Highly recommended.
- 360jennifer (10/5): Wonderful cooking experience in a haven of beauty! - My family (2 adults, 3 children aged 14,12,8) spent a lovely afternoon with Areti at her beautiful place at Metohi Georgili. She taught us how to cook 3 Cretan dishes, including a starter, moussaka and a dessert. Areti involved all of us in the preparation and we look forward to trying to recreate the dishes when we get home! We were given recipes for everything we made. We then had a wonderful lunch, including wine and fresh lemonade, and were invited to swim in the gorgeous swimming pool. I’d highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in cooking! Areti is warm, friendly, patient and incredibly generous and her home is just stunning.
- travel5612 (10/5): Cooking Class with Owner - My husband and I took a private cooking class with the owner of this guesthouse, Areti. Fantastic experience. Two and half hours. We made three traditional dishes and ate them with a nice glass of wine for lunch. Discussed Cretan olive oil, herbs and spices used in their dishes. We did not stay at the guesthouse but found the premises to be lovely. Highly recommended.
- Notlaw008 (10/5): Could not fault the hotel or owners - Very pretty hotel ran by a very pleasant family. The rooms, ground and gardens are spotless. The pool area was also pristine. I would have to go a long way to complain about this hotel.Very relaxing. I would say you need a car if you want to go to a nice beach as Maleme has not really got anything going on, worthy of note. A taxi to the nearest town is approx 8 euro each way, or about an hour walk. We did a mixture of both and did not find it a hardship. I would rather be away from the 'tourists' than with them!!
- Food_4_Thought_IXX (10/5): Amazing experience - Metohi Georgila is a gem waiting to be discovered in the island of Crete and outside the city of Chania. The level of the apartments and the quality spent to make this a unique experience is well above the normal 4-5 star generic hotels found in the region. The pool is great and the neighborhood is small so it is perfect for reading your book, or relax and recharge the batteries. The staff was always very helpful and provided help at any instance. Recommended!

- Jumpers82 (10/5): A magnificent gem ! - If you're after a secluded getaway from the resort infested Agia Marina, this is the perfect stay. This villa has been in the family for over 100 years and recently renovated to an excellent standard. The outdoor areas are just beautiful. There is a glorious terracotta tiled pool and when sunbathing all you hear are the birds chirping. Totally peaceful. We had a lovely 1 bed apartment with a large veranda that overlooked the swimming pool from one side and sea from the other. Such an enjoyable space to sunbathe/dine/relax. It's a good spot to go out on days trips, beaches etc but it would be worth having a car if you are staying here. The family who runs this villa is super sweet and totally helpful too. Don't hesitate about booking. We would definitely go back.

- LeanneClaireR (10/5): Perfection - We just loved our stay here for a week and were genuinely gutted when the week flyed by so quickly. We stayed in the smallest of the accommodation options. Perfect for couples and all the space you need. The family hosting are just lovely. Can't do enough for you. Lots of small offers of kindness and generosity. Genuine hospitality which is hard to find. Try the homemade food as the meals we enjoyed there were the best of the week. The breakfast is amazing and we found we didn't then need to eat until late evening! The grounds are beautifully kept, areti an excellent hostess. Im already planning when I can return next year this time with my children. You will need a form of transport if you stay here. We walked but in the July / August heat it's a bit too far away from the beach for a daily shuttle back n forth. Rooms are stylishly decorated and everything you need is there. Highly recommend for a quiet relaxing break.
- VOT (10/5): WOW ! So nice ! - We rented the Artemis house with our family of 5 and it was perfect. A real gem in a middle of a nice property with lot of trees, flowers and a wonderful swimming pool. The owner was nice to us and very attentive to our needs. It is not in front of the beach. I suggest to rent a car: this way you will be able to explore different beaches every day. Chania is 20-25 minutes away, nice beaches of Platania, 5-10 minutes. After our stay in this house, we went to an all inclusive near Malia.... Next time I will stay only at Metohi Georgila I strongly recommand !
- Quinonostante (8/5): Unique - A warm welcome awaits at this charming Guest House. Very clean apartment, stunning gardens. Property is very secure and just far enough off the beaten track to give you a sense of total peace. Hosts are very generous and warm hearted. Loved the fresh cakes and the stunning homemade jams! Great gifts. Adriana apartment was comfortable but for two weeks maybe a little small, and the balcony didn't have much space, would be great for a shorter break. Linens are immaculate, towels are of good quality. The pool is wonderful. Safe, clean and well equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and a great spot to enjoy evening meals with the smells of the evening flowers. A lot of hard work here has ensured you will not be disappointed. Only niggles: Keys, keys are annoying. As well as being so enormous as a bunch that they weigh a lot, you can't do anything seperately as there's only one key?! After 2 weeks this got boring....every-time one of you needed to go out in the car, all electricity in the apartment went off as you need this padlocked bunch in order to open the electronic gates. Irritating when you're cooking etc. Similarly there are no sockets which are on a separate circuit so that you can charge up your mobiles etc whilst out of the apartment....whilst I see this saves energy it's a little too restrictive at times. Also there was no cleaning equipment in the apartment which I would prefer. I am happy to clean up after myself. Felt uncomfortable having to go out each day so that someone could come in and clean up. That's a personal preference however. Ideal on a short stay but after 2 weeks became a little tedious.
- pilvikink (10/5): Absolutely wonderful! - We stayed at this amazing home for three nights in June/16. We were greeted by Areti the owner when we arrived. She was so warm, friendly and accommodating. Her home is well appointed- large rooms, clean, beautifully decorated and ultimately feels like your home away from home. There was so much attention to detail which made it so cozy and comfortable. I can't fault one thing. Breakfast was cooked for us each morning which was just delicious. The pool was so refreshing and nice and the grounds are just impeccable. It really is a wonderful, relaxing and perfect place. If you are so lucky and stay here, I can guarantee that it will add to your vacation memories!

- David (10/5): Un magnifique havre de paix.. - Endroit magnifique pour se ressourcer ailleurs que dans des hôtels à touristes le long de la cote. Le cadre, les équipements et les odeurs étaient idylliques. Les propriétaires sont discrets et charmants à la fois. Un régal pour nous!

- Geir (8/5): Flott hotell litt usentralt. - Flott hotell med veldig hyggelig betjening. Det ligger nok litt avsindig for min smak og det var helt klart nødvendig med leiebil. Vi var her o påsken og det er nok generelt for tidlig da nesten ingen ting var åpnet. Været var fint og varmt men Platania var nesten helt dødt. Det ble til at mesteparten av oppholdet ble tilbrakt i Chania Old Town. Hotellets basseng var desverre stengt, noe vi var informert om før vi ankom. Alt i alt ett supert leilighetshotell 20 min på utsiden av Chania.
- Kurt (10/5): So much more than we expected - We LOVED this place and will be recommending it to everyone. It was our own little Oasis. Areti and her family couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming. We came off season, so she was happy to make calls to restaurants to see if they were open. We enjoyed fresh citrus fruit from the property every morning and the garden for our children (ages 8, 5, & 2) to run around in. The apartment (we stayed in Titika) was spacious and felt like a home. We stayed for six days and couldn't have been happier. In fact, we wouldn't have been as happy had we stayed someplace else. Our apartment was immaculately clean (we are picky about this) and was cleaned daily. It had all that we needed for our stay and much more. We felt very safe on the property, which is gated, and in the neighborhood. A lot of shops and things were closed and such due to it being off season. We were less than a 10 minute drive to the beach and to the nearby supermarket. Chania, where we mostly ate dinner, was only 9 miles away and easy to get to. We liked staying here instead of Chania because we preferred to have the space. It was a great decision.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Koselig sted - Kjempekoselig familiedrevet lite leilighetshotell med 5 leiligheter.Veldig hyggelige eiere og betjening og vi følte oss velkommen og godt ivaretatt fra første dag. Vi fikk hjelp til å leie bil og gode råd om hva som var verdt å se og hvilke strender som er best. Stedet er veldig rent og fint og godt vedlikeholdt. Husene er sjarmerende med en koselig hage, felles basseng og egen parkeringsplass på eiendommen. Og det luktet deilig av både urter og blomster på eiendommen. Flott stor terrasse som vi koste oss på hver morgen og kveld. Det er noen minutter å gå til hovedveien hvor det går buss til Chania og Platanias, men bil er å foretrekke. Et flott sted som vi gjerne reiser tilbake til, anbefales!
