We had a family emergency and had to leave prior to our check out by 1 day for a funeral. Hotels.com and the hotel both gave us lip service only acting like they would try to refund us the night but both did nothing to help us. The breakfast is disappointing at best and the pool was out of order our whole stay.

- Belinda (4/5): - Our first room was horrible. Very disgusting and filthy and dark. They switched us to a new room with 2 queens and a baloney. Chairs on baloney were broke, but was happy for the light into the room. Had a larger frig which was nice and brought us a microwave. However tons of hair under the sink. Noise was horrible. You could hear your neighbors on each side with every foot step, but we just turned on the fan to drown it out. Breakfast was average quality, not enough room for people to sit. Poor seating design. Very cheap towels, but was ok. Cable was hard to figure out. Best thing was the ice machine. Will not stay here again.

The only real negative review I have is housekeeping staff, she knocked on our door at 10 AM even though checkout isn’t until 11 AM and we had the do not disturb sign hanging on the door.

- John (6/5): Avoid this place!! - The hotel itself was mediocre at best. I was never informed that the pool was out of order indefinitely. The pool was 1 thing that drew my family there. The floors were filthy and we had to change rooms because the 1st one smelled like mold and mildew
- James (6/5): - The property could use some updating - we stayed in the pines and the door’s deadbolt wouldn’t lock, there was a musty odor upon arrival, and the room could have been cleaner - we did find wrappers and dirt behind the nightstand. Overall we felt safe enough - just wasn’t at the 100% mark.
- Ronald (8/5): - Hot breakfast was very good and the lobby was remodeled since our last stay there. However, the pool was "out of order" when it was full of water and looked to be functioning. The hot tub was very nice, perfect for our foursome, but there didn't seem to be any reason the pool was not accessible other than maybe they didn't want to bother having to maintain cleaning it. when i stayed there 2 years ago, it was also "not available". they advertise a pool but it is never open. the rooms are older, but clean, and the fire pits are a very nice touch. If they can get that pool open, i would stay here again.

Change the light bulbs to a brighter color, this worked for 1960 but not today. Pillows are like no support, flat right to the bottom. Price was great but not sure I would stay again.

- Dean (2/5): Disappointing - The room was dark & dingy, faced a corridor. The breakfast was ok but not enough tables for the number of guests. The outside door near our room had no dampner on it so it made a lot of noise when people went in & out, this went on throughout our stay despite our complaint. Didn’t enjoy the stay it was just somewhere to put our heads whilst passing through for 2 days. Wouldn't stay again.

The room was warm so we used the air conditioner, that was right by the head of the bed, that was loud and it would go on and off all night. Slept bad. Would not stay here again.

But the view of the lake made up for it. the hotel provided chairs on the balcony, but the balcony was not private, it was shared with 2 other rooms, which were occupied. Past dated yogurt in the fridge and some of the bread was stale. The room overall was good. It is definitely dated and more attention to cleaning would be better.

Firepit was awesome. Met some nice people at the fire. Breakfast was pretty good and not too crowded. Desk folks were nice. Would've let us check in early but rules are rules. 4.0 Stars in my book.

It was Very warm in the hallways upstairs, not sure what was going on there, but the A/C in the room was nice and cold. The amenities are pretty neat and even had campfire pits with wood to use. The hot tub was nice, could’ve been hotter (but that’s me). The carpets are due for replacing in the hallways. The price seemed a little on the high end for the condition, especially with a much cheaper motel option across the street, but the amenities came through here. Front desk and breakfast service was excellent.

- LON (8/5): - I needed a place to stop for the night, and was able to make a reservation at 8pm for a 9pm arrival. The hotel is older, but it was clean, bed was comfortable, and I was able to park my 26ft U-Haul with no problem. The office staff was very helpful, and breakfast & coffee were good, also. Great little spot by the lake, and conveniently located at the I-75 and US Hwy 2 interchange.
- Tom (6/5): - It’s old & out of date. Anyone can walk into hallways as there is no need for a room key to open outside doors to get to rooms. Lady who checked us in was very nice. Lady who checked us out seemed like it was the last place she wanted to be.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Will Not Go Back - I don’t mean to be rude, but this place did not meet my family’s standards. We stayed in the Lodge. Everything was old and needed to be updated many years ago. The room stunk. The beds weren’t comfortable. The carpets, walls, furniture and everything was just very worn out. The breakfast room was too small for the amount of people that were in there. The balcony lock didn’t work, but they include a bar to keep it shut. The balcony view was just some stores and another motel. The curtains were old and yellowed on the back with little holes in them. We all felt like we needed a shower and to wash all of our clothes when we got home. We did love that it was so close to downtown and the freeway. The front office space was nice and the rustic decor looked cool.

- Ronald (6/5): Outdated room for an expensive price - Outdated room from top to bottom. The toilet was made for children. For the price I paid, I expected much more. Disappointing. On a good note, the staff were top notch.

- Janet (4/5): - Their accessible washrooms are not accessible. There’s no walk in shower, the toilet is big enough for a child that’s it and the bars to assist you getting up and down are not located in the proper positions. I would not recommend the location.

- Linda (8/5): - This property consists of several different buildings. In the main building, there is breakfast and a pool. The experience can be different depending on which building you are in.
- Mari-Lynn f (10/5): - The facility is a bit dated but they have an excellent staff, the breakfast is good, they give a Shepler’s Ferry discount. I wished the system was updated where tipping could be done electronically- so please bring cash to tip the service folks. This hotel is not next to the lake. It’s across a busy road from the lake.

- Rebecca (6/5): - The hustle and bustle down at the breakfast buffet was ridiculous They were out of most of the stuff when we went down there and we did not get there late. Wait too small for the amount of people that you have going there to eat. Besides that we Liked the room.

- Anne (2/5): - Upon arrival, we felt very unsafe, the door to the room did not latch evenly, the mattress was literally crusty, the room smelled moldy, and there was food shoved in the AC vent. We didn't even want to set our bags down. It seriously looked like a place you would catch bedbugs. When we walked in, the beds we unmade. We reported to the staff that we couldn't stay in the room, and by that point we were so icked out, we didn't want to stay there at all, regardless of the room. The night manager said she would put a note and refund us. When we got home, we found there was no refund, and every time I have tried to contact them through Expedia or directly, they hang up on me. Stay far away from this "Lodge" that is barely a motel
- Virginia (8/5): Motel stay in St Ignace - Accommodations were very nicely done and comfortable. Need to brush down spider webs outside doors especially Room 3. Active spiders there. My nephew is very tall and ran into them last night entering the room. Very nice rooms.
- Barry (2/5): - No door to bathroom. Very small toilet and shower area. No extra blanket provided. Shabby old furniture in room. For the price I paid, it was a terrible notel.
- Barbara (10/5): - Very clean with a lot of admenities (pool, fire pit, shuffle board). Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Definitely check out “Johnnies on the 2” for dinner, especially their fried mushrooms, salads, and corn beef & cabbage. We would stay here again.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Cedar Hill Lodge was just fine. It's just a basic affordable hotel with a good breakfast (offering more than just a continental breakfast).
- Catheren (10/5): - Very nice place to stay - especially with a dog! Motel style but well lit, nice, safe parking lots. Beautiful rustic office and breakfast area. Clean. Only reason 4 stars for condition is our king size bed mattress was very springy and lumpy (but that didn’t stop us from sleeping). Shepley shuttle picks up for the Mackinac ferry. Good hot breakfast, coffee all day. Staff is very pleasant and helpful even when tired travelers ask the same question twice. 🙂

The rooms could have been a little cleaner tile at entey of door inside was broken with a piece missing which was a little unsafe for feet carpet could use a cleaning mattress was ripped down the side but for thw price i would be back loved the pool and hot tub breakfast was great had 2 firw pits to use ..

- Kim (8/5): - It was okay for one night, I don't think I would stay longer. They had a glade plug-in in the room, it smelled horrible, it was attempting to mass pet piss. Once the plug-in was removed, the smell improved significantly. You could hear every move the people above us made. The shower curtain was about 2 feet too long, so it dragged way in the tub, sure it was not changed in between guests. It's an older motel, and the rooms could use an upgrade. Had a fridge, no microwave. The pool and hot tub area was very nice, we enjoyed the hot tub, pool was too cold for us to enjoy. Had a fire pit, grills that you could use, next time would bring smores. The beds were comfortable. Convenient to downtown Ignace and the Casino, and right off I-75.
- Darlene (8/5): - Clean, good location, efficient checkin and out, good staff, decent price, comfortable bed. Bare bones breakfast but coffee is good. Pet fee is high. Decor is old and outdated. Should have mat in front of room door for rainy days. Okay for a night- met our needs.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Subpar (thank goodness only one) night! - Eeek, our room was pretty gross. Smelled heavily like deodorizer, curtain was falling off the window. Overall condition was run down and dirty. Bed was so old and saggy. Generally pretty poor condition. It looked like the main lodge area may have been a little nicer, but we were across the parking lot in “The Pines”. Only plus is that it was convenient to our friends at the by campground. Don’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Middle of the road hotel - Everything was clean, but dated. The curtains in the room were missing some slats. The mattresses were old and saggy- made for a stiff back in the morning. Breakfast had a lot of options. Area was quiet and pretty view of the lake.

Could use some more outlets for charging phones etc. Really enjoyed the open space and view from our patio. Lovely place to sit and relax after a day at Mackinac Island. Complimentary transportation to & from the ferry was a nice bonus feature.
- Thomas (4/5): - Did not stay one night due to the carpet in the room was severely stained;opened bathroom door and smelled like sewer;did not meet our expectations. Not comfortable with staying...checked out after a couple hours once we found another place to stay ; front staff was friendly and apologized; requested full refund but have not received any response from hotel or hotel.com except to give this review.
