Which is just a bigger room with two beds and a sofa bed when we got there they were having some issues with it and so they gave us two rooms and didn’t charge us anymore to make up for. It was actually really nice.

- Shelley (10/5): Very surprising - It was very pleasantly surprising. It is a older motor lodge type that has been completly remodeled. Bright rooms. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Peaceful and quiet. Firepit in the front courtyard was available. We just didnt utilize it. Minutes from downtown shops, park and places to eat!

- Annelise (2/5): - Staff was nice and friendly and check in was easy. The room was ok but bathroom was terrible. The sink counter was falling off the wall and there was dirt and mold everywhere. After we took a shower we realized that there was water under the floorboards in the room and it was coming up between the planks. We had to put towels down and wipe our feet before we got into bed. There was so much water and the floorboards looked like they were already warping so this was a known issue. The blankets are sheet thin and so are the walls. We were cold and cold hear the people in the next room talking until midnight. Overall not a good stay so we decided to cut our trip short. I talked to the husband and wife who work there and possibly own the place. Supposedly we will be reimbursed for our second night but that was days ago and I still haven't been reimbursed. They need to actually fix issues with their rooms and not just try to cover them up.

- Stacey (10/5): - Quiet location, edge of town. Clean rooms. Sufficiently stocked with commodities and towels. Clean remote controls (!). Friendly and accommodating staff. Manager handled late night noise immediately and effectively :o) at first notification. I will return to this hotel. Cozy :o)
- Tacarra (8/5): Not bad! - Motel front desk were friendly. Check-in and check-out was simple. Room was clean overall. The bathroom shower was small but clean and had plenty of hot water. The walls were a tad bit thin but nothing too bad. Bed were semi-comfortable. Not enough outlets for charging electronics, or medical devices. The site said there was continental breakfast, which was falsified. They have no breakfast at all. Also, the lobby was closed and no one was present after 9PM. Fortunately we had no need to contact the front office. It was not bad overall and wasn’t terrible.

There was plastic tied on curtains to hold in place. The WiFi didn't seem to work good. There was a few people blaring music outside their rooms. It was ok for 1 night.

It was a bit noisy from other guests who keep their doors open and talked loudly even after 10 pm. The room was clean and comfortable. No breakfast. The owner brought me some hot water for tea I had brought Along. Friendly family.

The bed was very comfortable and clean. Basically, for a cheap sleep with a decent shower and comfortable bed. It gets the job done
- nicole-1430 (2/5): My advice, drive to the next place - Our stay was well below the expectations. When checking in, I was hit with a hidden fee after I called numerous times about having someone check in for me. Then we were given an attitude because we were in need of another roll of toilet paper and an extra shower towel. The shower floor was extremely dirty, wish I would've had shower shoes. Then to top it all off, the manager uses his key to barge right into our room an hour before check out with no knock, no warning, nothing. We were sleeping and all of a sudden he says "Did you guys check out?"... Clearly we did not if we are still sleeping. I felt as if all privacy was violated by staying there and will not be back. Try going to the Super 8 across the street, this place is not worth the time or frustration.
- Mark (10/5): reat stay for the money - The place is dated and needs a little love. Overall it’s is clean and comfortable. It’s in a quiet location just outside of town. The parking lot is VERY WELL LITE. And the area appears to be extremely safe.

Chair was taped from a priveous rip. Continental breakfast with shorted hours and basic.

- AllenB654 (8/5): Good basic motel - This is a well-kept 60-year old motel. Even though it was probably built in the 1950's it's been well taken care of and the management is pleasant and friendly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - When we first pulled up, it was like a view from a horror movie. Dark. 3 cars, and given the room in the corner next to housekeeping. Entering room, a lot of flies and bugs. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, however toilet did not flush. Area and room felt weary, so we slept with light on. They stated breakfast, nothing was available, not even coffee. However, if u need to just crash and catch some sleep, I guess its doable, however we wont be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well from the outside it looked rather plain...but the room was great..very large room, the bed was very comfortable, no bathtub but I only take showers anyway..plenty of hot water, very quiet, very nice restaurant right up the street to eat supper..it was very good, they did serve breakfast but we left before it started at 6:00, we have rabbits so having them right outside the door was fantastic..the only thing I would suggest is to have a better tv with more stations...other than that it was a great stay and would stay again.

- Clara (8/5): THANKSGIVING OVERNITE - Stayed overnite to visit with family in Illinois before driving back to Indiana. Clean, beds a d pillowd were super comfy. Everything I needed for a night. Vould hear the neighbors talking through the walls when trying to sleep but overall a good stay. If they hadn't been there, don't think I would have made trip. Six hour drive round trip very tiring in one day. Resting overnite in a big, comfortable bed with lots of comfy pillows......the BEST!!!!!

- rocinante1960 (8/5): Great little motel - This is a great place. It is one of the best renovations/conversion of a 1950/60s motel that I’ve ever seen. The staff is excellent. There was a minor problem with my window, it was fixed immediately and the staff apologized. The women who checked me in also gave me an excellent recommendation for a restaurant. The room was extremely clean and had an excellent bed and chair and great shower. It’s also very quiet. I would suggest a small curtain for the window over the new AC unit to block the setting sun and morning light. Also the staff needs to check the breakfast bar more often so they don’t run out of things. Having said that will stay here whenever I’m in the area. Would have given it 5 Big Star except owners, you do need to do more to attend to breakfast more diligently.

- Patsy (6/5): Stay in Paris, IL - Room was clean, stayed in a double queen suite with 2 couches, bed was satisfactory as it did not give me a back ache, the only thing I didn't like is that the toilet is too close to the wall in front of you when seated. Overall, it was a good stay.
- JclayG (4/5): Not so good... - We recently travelled to Paris for an overnight family visit, and our lodging options were a relatives apartment floor, or an old school motel - we wished we had chosen the apartment floor! The shower floor was dirty enough that we opted not to shower before our 3 hour drive home. There were dead bugs in the bathroom windowsill, and the decor, carpet, etc in the rooms are... dated. I should say that it wasn't so bad that my wife refused to stay for the night... but it was close.

- Sam (10/5): Impressive - I have traveled for work for nearly twenty years, 200 + nights per year...and I have never been so impressed with a budget motel that is every bit as well cared for as a chain hotel costing twice the price. I could list everything that is right about this motel, but it literally is everything. The place very clearly reflects a pride of ownership and a commitment to doing things right.

I spent the nigh freezing until the heat kicked in at 5 am!!! This place is GROSS!! The pics misrepresent this place!!

This is a great opportunity to let your kids experience what it was like to travel in mid century USA. I was sad to see that they had to get rid of the old fashioned keys and go with key cards. For the price this is a great place to stay in Edgar County. Historic. Close to the county fairgrounds and the American Legion. Some units seem to have better air quality than others.

The problem seems to be, they rent rooms weekly to people who really don't care how much noise they make at 3 am . Sad, this was a nice quiet small town, no trains, no Eway, no airport. Should have been the quietest night of the trip, but drunks coming in at three in the morning are just as bad.

- Eily1961 (8/5): Good Motel, clean, well kept, great value - If you're on a tight budget, this is the place. It is comfortable and clean. It has ensuite, TV, fridge, microwave, good heating, free parking, free wifi. It is NOT at all expensive. Not luxury, but certainly great value.
- BrettBabs (8/5): Clean, comfortable independent motel - I arrived late at night and was promptly checked in by a friendly guy. I would say that this place is probably a 1950s to 1960s classic roadside motel. It is evident that some recent renovations have taken place. The heating and AC unit in the wall was brand new. There was also a new flatscreen tv in the room. Everything was spotlessly clean. The furnishings were a mash up of different styles but was clean and in good shape. Bed was comfortable and linens smelled fresh. Continental breakfast was provided and was basic coffee, donuts, cereal, and OJ. Would definitely stay here again.
- Michael (6/5): OK for overnight - Hotel is clean, but showing it's age. Owners appear to be fixing it up.
- Brandi (2/5): - The staff was not very pleasant. Not a single smile, welcome, thank you, etc. The bathroom counter had soap from the previous people on the counter. The bathroom door did not close because it didn't fit in the door jam properly. The bed was very very stiff and uncomfortable. I could hear the people in the next room watching TV and talking. When I had responder to a short survey, their response was' "thanks for the lie." I really wish I would have taken photos.
- Nancy (6/5): comfortable for the price - decent for the money spent - advertised as free wi-fi which was very limited - mostly had to depend on using our phone data plan as the wi-fi wasn't strong enough to connect - other than that for an overnight it was a comfortable room
- Timothy (2/5): Avoid this Place - Door did not deadbolt. Pulled down widow shade and it fell off the wall.Right outside the door was an overflowing garbage can. This property should be a last resort.

- 552adamj (10/5): Excellent value - Wife and I had to go down for a funeral and we had to bring the dog. For two nights it was $145 total including the $10/night dog fee. I thought $10 for the dog was a great deal because let's face it...dog fur is much harder to clean up than human messes. - Very clean - Great mattress. Certainly the best mattress of any value motel I've ever stayed in. - Great AC - excellent wifi connection - nice area to walk the dog If I had to find something to complain about it would be the low water pressure in the sink. But that's really a trivial thing If I ever find myself in town again, I will most definitely book this place again
