Guest Reviews
- JUAN (8/5): - No tiene piscina
- Armando (8/5): - Quiet and relaxing!
- Ivan (8/5): - Colocar aire acondicionado
- Steve (10/5): - The place is nice and very clean. However access to dining wss a little restricted
- Tricia (10/5): - This property was actually pretty neat and they were quite excellent for such a cheap cost. I would recommend it as they were very clean and attentive. Breakfast was nice as well.
- Robert Anthony (4/5): - Just weird
- Alberto (4/5): - It is ok
- ashley (4/5): Wouldn’t stay again it’s gross - The first room was terrible. Hot Hotels.com shows all these nice balcony rooms. Then they stick us in this room with the window to the hallway. So we asked for an upgrade and how much it would cost. They told us an extra $10 a night. We said fine which got us a room with a balcony. Great. The shower was absolutely disgusting. It may feel dirty being in the shower. You couldn’t use the safe. The room was just kind of generally dirty. The bed had burn holes in it and a couple of. I’m sure they were dead. Bugs but bugs. I know there’s bugs in tropical countries, but not right after you. Clean the bed. We spent an entire day, searching other hotel rooms to see what we could get Because we were just grossed out by the condition of the hotel. The buffet/restaurant/bar was never open. It was only open for breakfast and then they close the doors at 10:30 and it was in general. Just probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at so far.
- Sherry (10/5): - Good
- RICARDO (2/5): - The property is fine but the people working there let anyone inside the hotel, i literally had a guy from the streets followed me into my room to steal my phone and had to pay him to get it back with help of the staff wich let him in. In the first place, suspicious..
- Sherry (10/5): - Not the best but convenient for the price
- efaste (10/5): - Good hotel. By many restaurants.
- Ivette (10/5): - It's a great option if you want yo stay close to the beach. Great options to eat. And the beach was very nice. Loved it.
- Aderson (10/5): - All good
- Miguel (2/5): - Completely disgusting was a place for people to have sex and do drugs didn’t even stay
- Miguel J (4/5): - bad customer service
- eduardo (2/5): Terrible experience hotel - Terrible experience / bad service / very dirty rooms / had cockroaches
- mikemX2050ND (10/5): Service with a smile 😎 - Hotel Flamboyan is a great hotel. The staff are amazing and verys friendly.I have visited 6 times and each time it gets better.
The breakfast is very good and it comes with fresh juice.
The rooms are confortable and clean. Everything is walking distance.
The cigar shop on the corner is great.
If you are looking for fun in Bávaro this is the place.
5 stars🏖️
- Ivette (10/5): - Staff was helpful. Room was comfortable.
- Ashdude1978 (6/5): Value for money - Budget hotel close to resorts, friendly receptionists, very clean, few mosquitos.
The best homemade breakfast juices.
Very quiet, always smells fresh, coffee available day and night.
Could do with chairs on the balcony
Not wheelchair friendly as its a flight of stairs up to the reception
- Deborah (6/5): - Things I didn't like were that the water in the shower kept changing from hot to cold and back every 5 seconds. The water also smelled weird when you first turn it on. I was only given one towel for 2 guests, and there was only one thin bedsheet and not blanket. The AC didn't really cool the room down.
- Rosa (2/5): - Do not stay at this hotel, when my husband and I got there, the reception desk informed us that the air conditioning in our room was not properly working, we asked if there was another room available and only one of the light bulbs in that other room turned on, however, the AC did not turned at all. They gave us another room and while I was taking a bath, a hotel staff knocked on our door saying they made a mistake by giving us that room and that we needed to get out of it because its guests have arrived in the hotel. Expedia tried to contacted the hotel and they either did not pick up the call or just said there was no one that speaks English, Expedia also tried to contact the owner and he never responded. We have to leave to a different hotel almost at 10pm . They never apologized for their horrible treatment, in general it was a terrible experience!
- Jeanette (2/5): - Nothing
- Scott (10/5): - This was very basic accommodation for one night. Great for the price paid.
- JEFFREY (10/5): - I will be back for sure
- Cresfroid (8/5): - Its location
- ytamar (10/5): - I went back, staff is great, room is nice and clean, AC is very good,
- ytamar (8/5): - Staff is very friendly and willing to help, room is clean and quiet, great place to rest also breakfast is good, my only issue is the area and no close to dinning and entertaimet
- Christian (8/5): - Was ok...no complaint !!
- Hubert (2/5): - Very old and in need of great repairs. Area very sketchy.
- Leandro (6/5): - Not luxury but confortable to stay one night.
- Suhail (8/5): - I was ok!!
- Ali (10/5): - Liked it
- Amy Arnesen (8/5): - The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was good. The cleanliness was good. The air conditioner worked well. It was noisy at night and the facilities were older.
- Gustav (6/5): - Totally fine for a one night stay. Cleaner than I had expected, receptionist is friendly and bed was ok.
- sandra a (10/5): - Great customer service, quality room was great with A/C and hottttt water. Was delighted with morning breakfast. Thank you
- Irina (6/5): - Motel type hotel, fine for the price
- Daniel (10/5): - Beach is around 5 min by car
- rafael (6/5): Bueno si necesita donde pasar la noche. - Estuve en el hotel por una noche. Lo recomendaría para aquellos que necesiten un lugar para dormir, es bastante económico.
- Lops (10/5): - That hotel is very clean, and I really like it. People in the reception are very nice and speak some English which facilitate me to communicate much better with them. They serve you breakfast every morning as promised and both the lady who're serving are really great at serving. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone going there.
- Eli (10/5): - Nice place
- Francisco (10/5): - It was aight
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We just needed to sleep 6 hours and take a bath in the morning to continue to our next adventure. I was perfect for our objective.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - property was ok but no hot water no place to get coffee in the early morning before i went on a tour around 6am
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good inexpensive hotel - Nice hotel with friendly staff and security.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good bargain - I came after the reopening but before the airports started bringing tourists internationally. Hotel had 2-3 rooms occupied including mine. We were quite spoiled by the staff who didn't have much else to do.
- Lil (10/5): Great stay - Service was great and the room was comfortable.
- Carl (6/5): Okay for a short stop over - Good for one night stop over, breakfast was okay but limited choice.
- A.r (2/5): - To be in bavaro it looks trashy . And not enough parking
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No hot water.. no blankets.. horrible wifi.. Bad area.. No food water etc
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not a good experience toliet flooded twice befor I insisted to moved to a new room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was fine. There could have been more hot water.
- paulino (10/5): Cozy and relax - Ladie in lobby was nice and friendly, room was clean and relaxing, staff are very helpful and nice, the environment was calm and relax, I found everything well according the price, I really recommend this one, I don’t mention the breakfast cause I skip this but people say is good too!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Horrible Service - As we arrive to check in, we noticed the front desk clerk sleeping on a lounge chair; as he helped us do check in he let us know that they didn’t have enough room. He sent some man to check a room upon returning the man said that the room had people inside later gave us another room that when we checked in to didn’t have blanket or up to standard. We just ended up sleeping the night and left the next day.
- Gesner (8/5): - I like the fact that it was close to the shoppinng area.
- Pierre (10/5): Great hotel - The hotel was great. It’s in the heart of the city so it’s crowded with a lot of traffic but it’s of walking distance to so many places it’s worth it. Will definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good, the bed wasn’t perfect but for the prices was good
- EmileR_12 (8/5): Perfect for a quick overnight! - We arrived in Punta Cana with the plan to spend a night and then leave early for our ultimate destination. We didn't want to spend a bunch of money so we looked for something reasonable and found Flamboyan with breakfast included. Reservation was for 2 adults and 1 child. Check in was easy and quick (they have a hand written book like the old days lol). We were told that our child had to pay extra for breakfast, which made no sense since our booking was for 3! Of course they gave us the third breakfast. Breakfast was basic but good (we had omelettes with onion, green peppers, cheese & tomato). You get 1 cup of coffee and have to pay extra for a second ($1)...they don't have orange juice but they offer an oatmeal/lemon juice that is very "Dominican". Service was pleasant and fast!! FYI-TV is always a disappointment, for me, in The DR...As an American, I can say that the average American will always find something to complain about in The Dominican Republic...however, they have all of the basics covered clean, decent bed, hot running water and conveniently priced. With just a little enhancement this could be a great hotel! Happy travels!
- victor (2/5): Very bad hotel - This hotel it’s horrible. It’s not clean it’s smell bad service no elevator the bed have bugs very bad hotel
- Michael (8/5): - Good place to stay for a couple of days while going places.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs to pay attention to little details - Room needs to be more clean, bathroom was not clean as well. Liked the location and the staff, but the hotel needs a new management that will take care o little details. I was expecting something better.
- albert (2/5): - It was the worst hotel I have visited. Expedia, don't advertise that horrible hotel. It is a dirty place, awful room, nasty place in all sense.
- Wintom (8/5): Not a decent neighbourhood. - No pool. There is a pool, no water in it. Poor neighbourhood. That is typical everywhere.
- desmond (2/5): - The room was lacking a/c at a cool level. Took about half an hour and 3 different rooms before i got settled.
The room had insects(ants). The bath towels were old and consist of one or more holes inside them. The bath needed a good cleaning
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good Hotel close to restaurants - A good place to sleep after staying at the beach all day, have A/C and hot water. You have restaurants nearby. They have free parking, good staff. Reasonable facilities. Reasonable daily breakfast. Please take into consideration that there is no elevator and have a lot of stairs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. Bathroom was not in great shape. Dirty and toilet had issues flushing. Decent overall for price
- sean (8/5): Stay here all the time affordable and clean - Close to everything and the staff are friendly rooms are clean and affordable.
- queenofeverything007 (4/5): So-so .. - In the Centre of Bavaro, but not as fine as it looks in the pictures. The room is ok, but the door in the toilet is very hard to close. Besides it is very loud outside. It is hard to sleep here. Breakfast starts at 7.30 but the lady doing it came later. The big advantage is parking and free WiFi.
- Moe (10/5): The hotel was nice, clean, and welcoming. - The hotel is nice and close to everything. Staffs were friendly.
- Jessica/Julio (10/5): Nice and gorgeous hotel - All staff very nice, even the woman of the breakfast, it’s the second time we stay, near principal street, Delicias de Bávaro, Texaco gas station and Drink Point
- amy (4/5): - I stayed for a night before going to the airport, the room was somehow clean, the washroom didn't look the greatest and I don't even wanna talk about the roach in the shower. When we used the sink the smell coming out of it was something awful, Ialmost puked. Breakfast was....I can't even call it a breakfast.
2 towels for 3 ppl. Thank God it was just something to spend the night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): I may stay here again but probably not. - Noisy street and very little warm water. Beds have bad sheets that do not fit the bed and tend to wad up at night.
Staff was nice and attentive.
- Esha (2/5): Don’t stay here - Loud music all night long. Shower flooded bathroom. Hair in shower. No WiFi on room. Nice lobby is deceiving. Room sucks even for one night.
- Marcus (4/5): Close to Steve's Sportsbar - This is not a place that you want to sleep or shower.
- Eric (10/5): Real Dominican - This is a established hotel in the heart of El Cortecitio. If you are looking for an American experience don't stay here. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. The Hotel is immaculate with a very nice lobby and includes breakfast. If you don't speak Spanish try to arrive during the day. Warm water is and good air conditioning. The rooms are spartan but a great value for the money. I always am safe and enjoy staging here.
Thank you!
- Erik (8/5): Great hotel for the price - Excellent for the price in the heart of the town. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel was empty so that was a first negative sign. First room the toilet didn't work, so they sent us to a second room. The wifi sucked in the second room. The room had a small tube tv (really, its 2017) we didn't bother turning it on. They gave us a taxi service where the taxi driver did not have change (lies) and said he would bring back my change and never showed up. The area is annoying with a million motorcyclists are hounding you for a ride, we couldn't even walk down street without them asking to give us a ride. Do yourself a favor and a different hotel in a different area.
- Robby (6/5): Hotel to survive Hurricane Irma - Needed a quick hotel in a hurry to escape storm. Price was right, friendly staff speaks limited english so know some spanish. Noisy hotel, breakfast is simple but guarantees a hot meal. In the middle of time, neighborhood is not the most confortable but tolerable. No elevators, Room was basic, no phones in room. Positives: wi-if in rooms when it worked and US networks play on their TVs.
- Monika (8/5): Nice hotel, walking distance to everything. - I stayed in quite a few luxury hotels and few cheaper ones. This one is definitely on a cheaper side but very nice and neat. Included breakfast is a plus but don't expect a feast. Security always on guard, little extra to make you feel safe. Few times left a room with expensive belongings out , not expecting cleaning service to come by and everything was where I left it.
Overall I was very happy with everything in that hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The breakfasts was terrible, the room for one night was ok
- PatrykiOla (4/5): Big disappointment :( - Staff doesn't know English at all! Good wifi helps us to communicate one another. Room wasn't very clean and the bathroom... no comment. According to
Price and stars (!) it should be pretty much better. I strongly don't recommend this hotel even for one night.
- J (4/5): Motel 3 - You get what you pay for. Thought it would a little better that what I saw in the images, but this is what $40/night gets you. The neighborhood is sketchy. Loud construction was going on right outside my window.
- scuba3215 (8/5): Nice option to all the all inclusive nearby - Staff was friendly and helpful with information about the neighborhood. I came for a scuba diving trip and did not want to go to an all inclusive. The nearby shopping and local food was good.
- 232rayd (2/5): Spend a little more $ - Was looking for a cheap stay on a diving trip. $54 US. No hot water, toilet did not flush. No room safe. No substantial door bolt. Far from beach. Not walking distance. Breakfast was included and basic eggs/juice. Appears to cater to local families and single guys looking for action. Red light type district if that's what you are looking for. Not many gringos around. Was intimidating walking around before my dive buddy arrived. Lots of barkers trying to get you into shops. There is a Steves corner bar a few blocks away that caters more to gringos. Rest of establishments are for locals. Lots of crazy car and moto drivers. Would never go back. Primary dive shop, Dressel, was almost impossible to get to as it is part of a upscale all inclusive resort. You need to reserve on line and have them pick you up. Pro Dive was accessible by car but no place to park there.
- hherrera89 (6/5): It is a good alternative hotel - Flamboyan is a good hotel as an alternative hotel, the hotel staff is very welcoming. We reserved a non smoking room, which our room was designed as such; however, the pillow cases ans curtains smelled like cigarettes smoke. Hotel room has no microwave, blow dryer, iron or ironing board as your typical hotel. So if you come to this hotel, make sure you have all that you need, including soap. Overall, not bad!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Is not so noisy around the hotel like the others hotels close to disco bars, had breakfast included.....................
- WorldTravler93 (6/5): Centrally located - Flamboyan is a good value rooms are specious with large bed, washroom, mini fridge with water bottles, large closet, table with chairs and each room has a balcony. Free breakfast provided st the restaurant downstairs.
Only thing is no elevator and the entrance is stairs and if in the second floor more stairs which not down fall is when initially taking luggage up.
However, located by the shopping mall, lots of stores, bars and plenty of places to eat. Came twice during my two week stay between hotels and was not disappointed. The breakfast was pretty good. You get a choice of different sandwiches or omlette and coffee and juice. Staff sole minimal English but a great hotel to get the local feel of bávaro Punta Cana.
- Erik (8/5): Great value hotel in the middle of everything - Great stay for the price and in the middle of everything very safe with friendly staff will stay again.
- natiazp (10/5): A Great Alternative to AI - I've stayed at Flamboyan several times and I really enjoy this hotel as sometimes I get sick of the all inclusive resorts. It's located at a very good location, if you're familiar with the area it's very close to Bavaro Princess and the 24 restaurant Las Delicias. It's very clean, breakfast is included, you get free wifi and it's decently priced. If you would like to explore Punta Cana, go to different beach clubs, go to Macao Beach (public beach), check out shopping plazas and so much more. If you do feel like you miss the all inclusive resorts you can buy a day pass at your favourite resort. It's a different way to experience Punta Cana if you don't feel like spending the entire time at a all inclusive resort.
- alvaro (6/5): - The hotel was ok except the front desk people. It seems they rather be on their cell phones all day than help the guest. The restaurant was not good either, we only eat there once even with a free breakfast.
- Avery (8/5): - Bed was hard...i couldn't sleep. I tossed, and turned the whole night!
- Verified traveler (8/5): a little out of the way - long walk to beach. need a car to get around. locals are friendly but aggressive
- kanisha (4/5): This hotel was dirty and wasn't around no beaches - The ceilings in the bathroom looked like it wanted to fall in they had bugs crawling around stains on the walls! It was just dirty!
- 60bethh (6/5): Short Stay Only - My husband (who is Dominican) and I stayed at this hotel for one night at the beginning of our trip and for a second night at the end of our trip. The hotel did meet our needs. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Convenience store, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Be warned, no hot water! But air conditioning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - TV wasn't working properly and WiFi mainly work on the hallways.. a good breakfast is included ,the front desk receptionist was very lovely.
- Jorge (10/5): The best 3-star hotel in Bavaro - Whenever I look for a hotel in Bavaro, in this category, I do not think so. I come to Flamboyan since 2009
- L5457FJmiguelb (8/5): One night stay. - We stayed here the first night in our trip to punta cana before checking in to our resort. Room was clean, ac was modern and worked fine, flat screen tv, minifridge, balcony. The free breakfast was pretty basic at the next door restaurant, eggs, ham, toast and coffee or orange juice, short walk to many smalls shops, artisan market, food stands. This was only a short ride to the main bavaro beach resorts.
- kmarino87 (8/5): Perfect for being in Bavaro outside of all inclusives/on a budget - Stayed here just for a weekend and it was perfect to have a place to sleep and eat breakfast. We were out all day and night. Did a day trip to Bayahibe and Isla Saona which was easy. Close to beach, bars, restaurants and nightly. I would def stay here again.
