Guest Reviews
- David (6/5): Save your money and upgrade to a rte 45 hotel - Ughh…well it was the only place to stay in Geneva by the hospital. It wreaked of cigarette smoke and dogs. A very large dog barked half the night and drove us crazy. The pop machine dispensed warm pop. The other pop machine ate our money. Told my stepmom I’d chew us out if we got snowed in before staying another night.
- Wendy (8/5): - This property was older, very clean and accepts multiple dogs for free. The hallway did smell smoke and the microwave and refrigerator in the pictures weren't present but if you are on a budget and traveling with dogs it's your best option in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice for the price. - Hallway outside room smelled like marijuana late in the afternoon, but the next morning it smelled fine. Room was good. The bathroom could’ve used a touch up though. I wouldn’t have taken a bath in the tub. Some of the lights need fixing too. It was nice for the price.
- Kim (4/5): - The room itself was very cute, But the bathroom smelled like urine, felt very unsafe in our room as you would hear people partying Loud. We put a chair in front of the door for extra security
- Paul (6/5): - No refrigerator. The ESPN channel for MLB playoffs was in Spanish and couldn't be changed to English
- John (8/5): - The bathroom floor was filthy. It had not been swept properly, and it’s doubtful that it was mopped correctly.
- Alayna (4/5): - Disappointing, i guess you get what you pay for but i was hoping for a comfy bed to crash the night in after hitting the wineries. In hindsight, i wish i would’ve paid more for a nicer place or arranged a way home. Yucky, I’d say 4/10 experience. Even just for less than 12 hours to sleep there, go somewhere else.
- Kenneth (6/5): Comfy stay! - Severe water damage throughout the room. Flooring was warped from the water damage but with that being said it was clean and comfortable. The beds were very nice and offered a good nights day. No extra frills, no hair dryer shampoo etc. but you get what you pay for. Very nice staff and close to tons of food and services.
- Priscilla (8/5): - The room (105) was clean with no odors. The grout and ceiling in the bathroom, however, were moldy. I wiped the grout to see if it was just stained and the mold came off on the toilet paper. The humidity in the room seemed high even though the ac was running, so I can see where it would be difficult to keep the grout from getting moldy. However, a quick scrub with a brush every week should keep it away.
The room was basic and fit my needs. There was no breakfast, which I knew. I am sure this kept the cost reasonable compared to other locations with a "free" breakfast.
For the most part, it was a good stay and I would stay again.
- Crystal (10/5): a nice centrally located hotel - The room was very clean and comfortable. It was close to all the things we wanted to do. Many restaurants and other stores in the area. Our room had a balcony for sitting outside. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Emily (10/5): - Dog friendly!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Would prefer not to stay again - They made updates to the room which is why we picked it but they were done poorly and very surface level. There was dirt in the tub and cobwebs above the bed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had a non smoke room and still smelled. Not the cleanest but beds were comfy and the service was good.
- Paul (6/5): Just okay - It was just okay. The first room they gave me had a broken lock on the door and could not be locked. They gave me another room that had been cleaned but smelled like beer. the staff was not very friendly but they were obviously overwhelmed with the phone ringing and trying to check people in by themselves. People partied in the parking lot until 11:00 Pm so a lot of noise the first night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bathroom was very dirty .. just 2 hand towels for 2 adults no bath towels .. people very dirty and hanging outside almost like they live there all the time .. one person had their stuff piled in garage bags outside trying to sell her stuff to other guest
- Gregory A (8/5): - Pretty clean and decent. Didn't look like it would be when pulled in. Good for a budget place
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 1st time in a Motel 6 Bed was comfortable and room was pretty clean, some crumbs under the bed and in the corners. My only complaint was the shower had alot of mold. 8 of us and 2 rooms and both showers in the same condition. Overall tho, it served our purpose for a place to sleep after our Bar Crawl.
- Steven (4/5): - The floors in our room were very dirty. My socks were black after one evening there. Please clean these wooden floors!
- Jason (10/5): - It's an older hotel and the hallways etc. show it. The room though was really nice. Newer furniture, big space. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This isn't a Hilton, but you aren't paying for a Hilton. Comfy, clean room to spend the night in for a very reasonable rate.
- Amy (4/5): Not happy at all! - The room was gross. Bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Mildew all over shower, water kept seeping up through the vinyl floor tiles, hair and black “stuff” on walls and tub… room was so damp it made you feel like the sheets and everything in the room was wet. Hallways smelled like cigarettes and pot.
- Anetta (4/5): - Very dirty, reeking of smoke property.
- Joseph (6/5): - It's a Motel 6, you don't expect much but the motel was dirty and extremely smelly
- Sandra (8/5): - Better than a lot of lower priced motels but no amenities such as hair dryer.
- Harvey (6/5): - Property was in state of disrepair. Building and area are pretty shabby.
- Leigh (4/5): - The girls at the desk for check in/out were very friendly and helpful. No fridge or microwave in our room but only a small inconvenience. I left my pillows there, which I know is my own fault. But realized and called to retrieve them within a few hours of checking out and they were gone. It was about 40.00 in pillows plus a regular pillow case and a more expensive Sham that matched my comforter and now can not buy a new one separately which is a little upsetting. I understand it was my fault to forget them but for them to have not been able to get them back for me within a few hours of checkout is a little disappointing.
- Kelly (8/5): - Decent for the money
- Ricardo (2/5): - Did not stay place was horrible and staff right along with it. Booked riom with feig. And microwave but did not have them.
- Rick (2/5): It is what it is - Clean, no extras for a very expensive price, no breakfast, just coffee, not sure they even had wi fi
- Ron (4/5): Not great - The most basic room for the price I mean not even coffee in the room No refrigerator no microwave no anything. And the bed mattress was the absolute worst..... I guess you could have coffee if you went down to the lobby Would not recommend
- Amy (6/5): Meh - Comfortable bed. Bring your own pillows...they are flat and old. Walls were disgusting. Balcony has spiders all over. Room is spacious. Customer service was meh.
- Rebecca (4/5): - Bathrooms are gross even with newer surfaces. Bedrooms are gross. They splashed new paint, bed covers and cheap flooring to get the pictures you see online. Smells musty. Outer door lock was broken so anybody can walk in.
- Tracey (8/5): Motel 6 We’ll leave. Light on for you - It was good the hallways smelled a bit like smoke but the room was fine and the air conditioning worked great
- Jose (10/5): - Good service
No shampoo
- Sally (10/5): - The Motel has recently been refurbished and we really liked the look and cleanliness of the place. There was a lamp and a table on each side of the queen size bed allowing us both to place books, phones, and to read by the light. The carpeting had been banished - good riddance! Room was very functional. Would recommend this motel.
- Gary (6/5): - Lisa was outstanding and extremely helpful. All staff were courteous and friendly. Among the best rates in the area and the distance to the Spire Center was incredibly convenient.
I was disappointed that there was no micro fridge, facial tissues, or a continental breakfast offered.
- Jason (2/5): Crap place. Sleep in car instead. - It was right across the street from the Spire, which was the draw to go here. Not many choices in town, so I guess that's why they fail to fix anything??? I mean it's a Motel 6...I get it. However, the rooms smell like my grandma's basement (musky), and the hallways smell like chainsmokers roam freely. Add the crap cell coverage to hopefully offset the zero wifi and you've paid 110.00 more than you should have!
- Karen (2/5): - The counter lady was rude. The room smelled of mold and smoke. It was so gross we didn’t stay. Checked in and checked right out. Horrible horrible!!! Ruined our of night trip!
- Kris (4/5): - We arrived and had to wait to check in - there was no one around must have been in back room. Received our room key and when we arrived at our room there were wet spots on floor. We took a washcloth to wipe up spots only to find the white washcloth wash now covered in dirt - like the floor was never cleaned- gross! Under the bed was full of dust- use a swiffer people! Room next to us was using a deep fryer on the balcony and below us a smoker real nice smells all over!
- Gina (6/5): - For the price this hotel gave us what we needed, a bed, warm shower, good location and no bugs. The floor was dirty and but the sheets were clean.
- Kenneth (8/5): - It was outdated but comfortable.
- Amy (4/5): - First floor hallway smells musty and smokey. My room had water stains on the ceiling, and a floor so sticky my feet literally stuck to the floor. Bathroom door had broken areas. I chose to sleep on top of the bed, rather than under the bedding because I felt cleaner that way. I stayed here for convenience of location to an event I had the following day. I might have been better to sleep in my car.
- Johnathan (8/5): - Good
- Catherine (8/5): - Room was clean and large with balcony. Loved the easy location off of 90. The Wi-Fi wasn't working the night we stayed, not a biggie for some (we were 4) but definitely a disappointment for the others.
- Rick (6/5): No Wi-Fi - Wi-Fi was not working the day I was there .
No in room fridge or microwave .
No shampoo , only 1 bar of soap .
- Catherine (6/5): - It was a typical 2-3 star motel. Could have been cleaner, and the air in the halls and room smelled like old dingy cigarette smoke. The outside looked like it needed maintenance. We arrived at 10pm and had to leave by 6:30am, so we weren't looking to spend $200 to literally sleep. It got the sleeping job done :)
- Anthony (2/5): - This hotel is absolutely disgusting. It looks like it's falling apart, there's an incredibly strong smell all the way through the hotel including our room of smoke and marijuana. It's extremely dirty. Stains on the floors and walls. There was even a Bible next to the bed of which I opened up and it appeared to have feces on one of the pages. The heating or cooling unit did not work. The water pressure was very low and could barely get the soap off my body. The happiest part about staying at this hotel was when I left. I would have stayed elsewhere but I arrived late and no other hotels were close.
- Timothy (2/5): Spend some extra money and stay somewhere else. - Pay the extra money, stay somewhere else. No Internet since February 1st. You can feel the coils in the bed. Felt like a room out of the movie-The Ring. Heater was loud. Oh and the smell was terrible, smoke smell everywhere. The next day we could still smell the smoke on our clothes. It was quiet though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Was double charged at the insistence of front desk - I booked and payed with hotels.com app. The front desk attendant insisted I pay with my card at the desk and that the app does not work. I now have two charges on my card for one nights stay.
- Meredith (6/5): - The room was nice and spacious. However, the bathroom floor had water under the flooring and when you go into the bathroom and walk on the floor water would squirt up. It was quite gross. The floor was wet and no one took a shower.
- Angie (4/5): - The lighting was horrible. Couldnt get any paperwork completed. No blankets. The bathroom looked like it hasnt been swept in months. Lady at the front desk was super nice.
- Angela (8/5): - Just a place to sleep after spending the day winery hoping. Served it’s purpose. Clean room-good shower
- William (8/5): - Room was recently remodeled and was clean. Front desk person was slow in coming to the desk.
- aaron (6/5): - Staff was very nice and helpful
- Eleanore (8/5): - It was a basic room with only bar soap provided for toiletries but it was clean and the staff was excellent, especially Lisa. She went out of her way to make sure my room had internet access as I had to work during part of my stay and they were having some issues with their wifi. Everything worked, the shower had hot water, the coffee was good, and the room was clean. That was all I needed for this stay. Good value for the money.
- Eric (4/5): - Property is very run down.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid, avoid, avoid - The wifi didn't work, and when I called the desk about it, the clerk told me they were having problems and there was nothing they could do. She should have told me this when I checked in. My entire purpose in stopping for the night was to catch up on work (which requires the internet) and get a tiny bit of sleep. So it was a total bust from that aspect.
- Michael (10/5): Not bad for the price - No frills, but good for the price. You'll need to bring your own shampoo as they only provide soap.
- James (8/5): Clean the dog hair - Please wash the comforter after every stay. I had dog hair all over my cloths when i sat on the bed.
- Dawn (6/5): Just ok - The shower either didn’t have mych water pressure or the shower head needed replaced. The wouldn’t spray out more than a couple inches from the shower head and that was only after playing with the shower head to make it spray.
Also, after a few times staying at this motel we have never gotten a refrigerator and microwave, my sister and her husband, who also stays at the same motel when we do, always get a refrigerator and microwave. I dont understand, they must not like us!
- Cynthia (8/5): - The Motel 6 is clean, comfortable and convenient. We only needed a room for one night. A warm room, a comfortable bed, and a shower is all we needed. We travel with our 9 pound, very quiet dog, well behaved dog and dogs are free. Yay! A great home style, reasonably priced restaurant is right next door.
- Neil (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Quiet. For a cheaper hotel the room was pretty nice.
- Ronald (4/5): - Felt like this was an unsafe area.
- Daniel (2/5): What a joke - Not very clean. We had a hole in thr ceiling over our tub with water dripping through. Lady at the front desk during our check in and check out was very rude and had poor customer service skills and showed no interest in trying to offer us any kind of discount for our inconvenience. Motel 6 never again. Id sleep in my car before this place!
- Doug (8/5): Quick stop over - Non smoking room seemed nice and clean, but the hallway smelled of smoke.
- Lauren (6/5): - Liked being able to stay there with my cat while moving from one state to another. Disliked the lack of cleanliness of the bathroom floor which looked clean but proved to be filthy when I stepped on the bath towel/mat after showering and shuffled around the bathroom while drying off; when I picked up the damp bath towel/mat it was BLACK with dirt where I'd shuffled across the floor.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - We all go to Motel 6 because we want an inexpensive room. It's not going to be a 5 star hotel. The room waa clean. The beds were clean. Beds were comfortable. Linens were fresh. TV worked. The basics were there. The 6 getting rid of carpets and putting in wood style flooring is a big improvement. The major problems are building maintenance is lacking. From the portion of the front driveway overhang that has rotted wood to poorly parched holes in the walls. Overall I would give 3.5 stars but half stars aren't an option.
- Laura (4/5): - Closeness to Spire Ctr. The place I falling apart- equipment/frig/door access not working.
- John (4/5): - Price to high for room presentation. Alot of drug activity in and around motel.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Convenient to interstate. No frills. No refrigerator in room. Hallway had nicotine smell. No smells in room
- Zachary (10/5): - Large clean rooms and friendly staff. Pet friendly!
- Chris (4/5): - This place was a dive. Plumbing sucks with no water pressure and all the drains were slow. The bathtub still had water from my shwerbthe night before.
- Deborah (4/5): - The room was nothing like the pictures. The rooms floor was warped from water damage. The bathroom was awful. It smelled like mildew. Update your site and show the actual rooms.
- Janine (10/5): - It was just ok.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 1 night ok but needs more work - Front desk lady very nice but room was smelly like cigs.
Balcony was nice but view is of parking lot. Renovations need to continue. It was ok for 1 night. But for over one hundred a night not worth the price.
- Brieanne (6/5): - The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. There were sticky spots on floor in several locations. There was no shampoo, conditioner, or hair dryer available. The walls are thin and there were loud people all over the place late into the night. Not what i expected for the amount i paid for the room.
- Stephanie (2/5): Hairy mess - The surfaces were wet, they never dried; the ground was sticky, and there was hair all over the floor. Our pillows had hair on them, as well as the "clean" towels.
- Laura (10/5): Fine for an overnight - The check in gal was very friendly and offered to help us since there was no elevator and we were on second floor. The room seemed clean, but there were a number of napkins under our sheets which made us wonder if they had been washed or just remade...fine for the overnight stay that it was. The updates to the room did help but there was no frig or microwave, I guess you need to request them, didn't know...
- Alvin (4/5): - Uncomfortable, run down, practically no amenities.
- Anthony (6/5): - I liked that there was no carpeting in the room. The hallways, walls, outside, doors and building in general = dirty, poorly maintained and just crappy
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No wifi. Sound like its been out for awhile and got the impression management didnt consider this a high priority to fix. They should of discounted the room rate. If you need or want wifi check to see if it is operating in all areas first beforebookinh
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Desk Clerk was excellent. We had trouble with room AC. Desk clerk closed the office and helped us and also she had an alternative room ready in case the AC was not working. She helped us get it turned on and it worked during our entire stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - liked how it was right off the exit and next to a diner.
- Melissa (6/5): - I will say our stay was okay. The room was clean but it what
- sky (10/5): Fine nothing fancy - Nice room, just fine room will stay again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff was very unfriendly and unheloful. Told me that if I did not check in by nine oclock they would have cancelled my reservation and also charge me the cost becuase they were so busy. No hospitality here!!
- Amanda (8/5): - The people were great very friendly and helpful. The room did have a bit of a smell to it, it is a pet friendly establishment so that could be it. The shower area leaked Everytime someone took a shower bc the bar was crooked and the curtain would not stay shut so the floor would get soaked. The biggest issue I had was flooring through out was sticky and gross feeling so we couldn't walk around without shoes.
Overall it was fine for what we paid for and like I said the staff were very friendly 😉
- Vicki (10/5): - I am a smoker in a non smoking room but, the room had a sliding glass door and I enjoyed sitting outside smoking and drinking my coffee. The room was clean and secure. The absolute BEST motel 6 stay I’ve had yet!!
- Peter (8/5): Inexpensive option - European style room. No frills.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room floor was sticky and the walls had several dozen scuff marks and scratches randomly throughout the walls. It seemed like a coat of paint would go far. Pillows were small and misshapen from repeated use. Shower had hair in it and remote was greasy.
- Cory (10/5): Motel 6 Geneva - Have stayed here many times. Not much to say, it’s a Motel 6. Could use updating but it’s not bad.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Doors stuck. Generally run-down. Drunks and police calamity in parking lot all night.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Simply terrible. We checked in and checked out in about 25 minutes. Interior halls smell like burnt styrofoam and mildew. Interior rooms, although “remodeled”, were far from new. It took two hands to force the bathroom door closed, tile falling off walls in tub, 3/4” space between “new” flooring and walls with collection of mystery filth gathered in gap throughout. Floor was sticky, unfinished drywall patches throughout. Hands down the worst lodging I’ve come across in my life. Save yourself the $100 and find an alternative.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. Was an ok motel. But needs some work.
- Lynne (4/5): Kinda grubby - They "forgot" to service the room while we were there. The hallways smelled bad. There was something splashed on the outside of the bathroom door that was never cleaned.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - When it comes to hotel options in the Geneva, Ohio area, there are very few. Spend the extra money and stay at one of the Geneva on the Lake sites. Most of them you have to book directly but compared to this motel it would be worth the hassle. This hotel was less than average. Staff was unprofessional and unkept. If it wasn’t for us catching the housekeeper while walking in the hallway we wouldn’t have had our trash taken or gotten new towels. They didn’t even make the beds or exchange for clean towels when we were gone. The pictures don’t do it justice for the wear and tear. Overall a below than average experience. Luckily we didn’t spend much time here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not clean, shabby - Rather shabby. Some sort of fake wood floor (no carpet), it was stickly, so bare feet was not an option. table had sticky stuff on it, so it was not clean. Cigarette burns on tub, and the bed cover.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - a
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It fit our budget for what we needed to rent the room for
- DARLA (2/5): Don’t stay here - The beds are only mattresses. No box springs. Like sleeping on cement. The bathroom was disgusting. The tub was filthy. Had hair in it. Stains all over the shower curtain. The tub floor was dirty. I showered and used a towel to stand on and left the shower curtain open so I wouldn’t have to touch it. The ceiling was damaged and looked as if it could drop. It was the absolute most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. But the girl at the front counter that checked me on was very nice. She was the best experience at this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the best motel 6 I've ever seen but very tricky getting into drive right after getting off rt90 bridge tried to get in left lane and OMG right back on freeway forced for loss of 15min
