Guest Reviews
- Barbara (4/5): - Homeless next to property. Coffee and hostess party for breakfast choice. Missing lock for door. Bathroom molding for gone.
- Cesar (8/5): Adequate - Courteous staff. Bad neighborhood but very decent price for one night stay
- Gerardo (2/5): - none
- John (8/5): - The air conditioning was good, especially being in the Southwest that time of the year.
- Ricardo (2/5): - there was only the lock secure to lock the door, also when arrive it was a guy with a bit pit bull that tried to attack us, the guy could barely hold the dog and my son got really scared, actually we had to rush to get in the room, I didn't know this was a pet friendly hotel, also that dog keep barking all night and a small one joined and could not catch sleep at all, also something happens to explode or I don't know but I believe it was a fire gun, no extractor for the wc, no shower head, just the tube to shower, also this hotel is located near or in the "war zone" of albuquerque, I didn't know that until was there, a lot of homeless people and drug dealers all around, never stay again at this property or near this area, don't recommend it all!!!! stay away
also, at the check out I was told they didn't charge me for the stay and asked me to hand them my credit card to charge me again, and I have to show them the charge on my bank app so they let me go!!!
awful service!!!
- Nancy (10/5): - Room was clean. Was quiet. My only issue was with the t v. Half the channels were frozen, and about 1/4 didn't work at all.
- Melissa (8/5): - Place was reasonably priced and clean. The beds were amazing, not hard and the covers were warm. The towels were soft too, not scratchy. I've stayed in higher priced places that didn't have nice beds or towels.
The only downside was around the hotel, a lot of homeless. I would stay here again.
- James (8/5): - Friendly and courteous staff.
No microwave or refrigerator in room (microwave provided later. Refrigerator declined)
- Lheztee (6/5): - There's a lot of things that needs to be fix. The toilet tank cover is broken in half. The smoke detector is hanging from the ceiling. The shower control is off the wall. The electrical socket by thr sink don't. The refrigerator has cracks inside. The walling trimming in the bathroom are out from the bathtub. The paintings on the wall by the sink are damaged. The bathtub squeak when you take a shower (it felt loke it was going to fall out or cave in. It's scary). There's a crack on the bathrooms floor on the corner by the bathtub area. There was a fly inside the room. The room smells like cigarette (I asked for a non-smoking room but they put me on a s.pking room on the 2nd floor. No elevator so I had to carry my luggage up, not happy about this accommodation) Otherwise the place us clean.
- Mindy (4/5): - Was threatened by the staff that they were calling the cops on us
- Ben (8/5): - It was comfy
- Ben (8/5): - It was very comfortable and convenient
- Salvador (2/5): Skip it and protest it got these evil guys out of - This place, was the absolute worst that I have ever stayed at. My girlfriend was literally terrified. As soon as we got on premises we were driving around because we found one parking people a guy jumped out which really startled us, this is a bad side of town but this is the last rooom in town. This guy was oh really bad a person, he was very disrespectful to my friend, he was super shovenistic . Disappeared to install both of our intelligence, men explaining everything to my friend and posturing the entire time. The other two guys in the lobby or the other workers weren't any better, this guy gave me a really hard time and insulted our intelligences. When I went to the restroom these guys closed the door on my girlfriend and she was absolutely mortified. I'm going to figure out how to press charges, anyone of my Cardnales should show up and protest these bad people. . Once I came out they spread out like flies and pretended they weren't threaten any of my girlfriend with posture. The room was a f****** dump looks like I haven't been cleaned ages, Iit smelled like an ashtray, the screen was lacking from the window, the air conditioner did not work, there were bugs all over it was simply unacceptable, we should have just slept in our car.
- James (10/5): Nice Property - Nice staff. Very efficient. Friendly.
- Marie (4/5): - Disappointing for the price.
- Virginia (10/5): - Speedy check-in and friendly staff
- John (4/5): Spend the extra few bucks! - There were simple things that could be fixed at no cost. Paint fixes where tv's had been mounted but no longer there never got painted.
No working ice machine or pool. Didn't stick around for free breakfast.
- Rhonda (2/5): - I refused to check into this hotel because it wasn’t such an unsafe neighborhood. I demand a refund. Do not charge me for this room. Please call me.
- Matthew (2/5): - Absolutely freaking horrible
- GARY (10/5): Good by me - Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. A bit on the small side but worked for me as a solo. Everything worked. Neighborhood a bit suspect but I felt safe. Immediately across the street from The Downs of Albuquerque race track and casino so convenient for me as I was attending the racetrack.
- Sudhakaran (2/5): - This hotel is very bad, rooms are very dirty and plumbing issues. They listed as free breakfast but only 2 banana and 2 orange was there in the breakfast place that too in 7 am. Very worst service not recommended to anyone to stay.
- Sudhakaran (2/5): - Very bad rooms
- Patricia (4/5): - For the price they charge for the room furniture was dirty. TV no cable said there would be breakfast served and when we went down, there was coffee and a basket with three oranges in it that is not breakfast. The area can be very unsafe. Lots of homeless.
- James (10/5): - Dry friendly and efficient staff.
- Aaron F (2/5): - Unsafe horrible room falling apart absolutely terrifying.
- Michele (4/5): - Our room didn't have a working lock on the door and we felt unsafe, so we requested a refund. The hotel staff were very understanding and kind to us.
Since we booked through Expedia the manager could not refund us so I contacted Expedia and they processed it for us.
- Rosa (2/5): - They were very unpleasant at check in wanted to make copies of my credit card and drivers license seemed very fishy
- Kendric (6/5): - Location is not good. Had difficulty checking in.
- Roy (4/5): - Expedia said with Breakfast and there wasn’t any Breakfast available the owners were difficult to work with. It’s not a Luxury to stay at the Luxury Inn
- Marianne (4/5): - This place needs to be thoroughly cleaned and renovated. It’s surrounded with homeless people, which makes it feel unsafe. The location is convenient for Expo NM, but in retrospect I would have preferred to stay further and uber to the fair grounds.
- lauri (6/5): You get what you pay for - Holes in the sheets. Deadbolt broken. Useless blackout curtains with gaps at the top. I've convinced myself the stains on the wall are hair dye.
Not pictured- horrible grout job and a random screw in the shower wall. Loose threshold between bathroom and sink, and it's sharp. Sheets worn out, elastic doesn't hold them on. Outlets in the lamps only work with lamps on.
Surrounding area- homeless everywhere and an encampment in the lot next door. Bars on the windows of the office and a locked door when I was trying to check in.
- Alex (10/5): - Good stay in
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fine. No disgusting carpet. - We booked through hotels.com then drove there. The lobby was locked so I had to call, then someone came. Maybe they worry about crime? Check in was fine. The room was fine. Air freshener plugged into the wall. No bed bugs. Laminate flooring, no disgusting carpet.
- Rocky (10/5): - It was very Maintain
- Edgar (10/5): Not bad - I was expecting this stay to be horrible due to location, I was wrong. There is alot of homeless people outside of the parking lot and some drugs. From what i noticed, it never came onto the propeety. Room was fairly nice and everything worked the way it was suppossed to. Management/staff worked with me to get me a room that would work for me, which was greatly appreciated. Only negative i saw was that there was a lot of trash in the parking lot but Im fairly certain there is only so much that they could do aboit it.
- Sandra (10/5): - The hotel was a nice place. Clean room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly. Very economical.
- Lester (6/5): - Homeless encampment in the adjoining lot.
- Evan (8/5): - The rooms were clean, and quiet, staff was professional but a little edgy and I assumed this was a defense mechanism. After my first encounter they lightened up but what I didn't like is that they made me wait during check out to see if the room was in good shape. I assumed that because I had a prepaid credit card on file that this was the case so I understood.
If anything they could've denied my credit card via Chime bank even though I paid through Expedia via Paypal so I'm pretty glad that they accommodated.
The rooms are a little outdated style-wise but what do you expect from the cheapest room with a king mattress in town on a Friday? The laundry room was super hot! Like a sweat room and this is where the Ice machine is located.
All in all if I'm ever in a budget situation again in Albuquerque, then I would stay here asap.
- Eldon (2/5): Luxury not the case - Check in was horrible. The guy didn't speak English, he had to wake up another guy to register me. Waited 10 minutes for the other guy to show up.
R9om was in unsatisfactory condition. Holes in the wall, painted over. Graffiti on the bathroom walls and light cover.
Lock broken.
- Jimmy (8/5): Nice stay - Clean room, front desk was very friendly.
I would stay again.
- Ramon R. (6/5): - It was OK. Close towhere we wanted to be.
- Robert (8/5): - I have stayed there twice. They have been responsive to answering any need. I had a pleasant stay. There is a really good Mexican restaurant nearby Lindo Mexicana.
- Gary (6/5): - Good location if you are attending events at fairgrounds, not real clean
- Marcus (2/5): - Everything was okay the fact that I had to pay double for my room everything was good I just had to pay double for my room and I need to get in touch with Expedia to get my money back
- Anna (2/5): - I Did not like anything about this place. This place is in bad part of town, lots of home less people all around not safe for single and elderly women to be in.
- Frank (8/5): - Easy accessible smart location and very nice management.
- Louie (8/5): - The room was clean.
- Andres (2/5): Never again!! - Terrible experience. Bums and street walkers right outside my door and all over the premises. I didnt even want to take a shower in that bathroom. It’s anything BUT Luxury Inn. Never again. Thank God it was only 1 night.
- Deborah (6/5): - I liked that it was close to the Tingley Coliseum. However the room needed some work. The electric wires were exposed, the tv didn't work and their was no remote control, the phone was just for looks it was not connected. When we talked to the manager and told him what was wrong with this room he raised his shoulders as if to say "Oh well". I wont be staying there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good if you're on a budget - I liked how it was clean, the employees were nice and helpful, the TV channel options were good. There's some good restaurants and a Walmart in the area so that was great. I didn't like how loud the streets got at night though. Lots of loud cars driving by late at night woke me up both nights. Lots of people living outside around here as well but I'm used to dealing with that. For someone traveling on a budget I say go for it.
- Anne (2/5): Bad review - The hotel was on a very dangerous part of town with full time residents and our life was in danger. The hotel manage was very nice but two single women should have never been booked there. Overnight a rock was thrown through the front door breaking the glass all over the lobby. If that’s not enough the people next door to us were fighting all night so we got no sleep.this is not a hotel that you should be promoting. The Uber drive that picked us up at 8:AM in the morning was shocked that we actually were not hurt. I will call you when I return from my trip. Antoinetta DiMartino
- Willy (8/5): - The motel and staff was okay but to many hobos around
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I spent an hour looking for a last minute hotel room in Albuquerque and this was without exaggeration the only place with rooms available. I paid over $100 for this room and I wouldn't have been very satisfied if I had paid half that. The room was pretty dirty, I felt the need to put my sleeping bag on top of the bed because I didn't wanna lie directly on it. Also the property is very sketchy. There was activity in the parking lot all night, I felt like I was gonna wake up to find my car stolen. And I have a pretty high tolerance for rougher areas. Definitely not a very good place to stay and for the price I absolutely felt fleeced.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a place to stay for anyone! Scary! - The area was so terrible that when we entered the parking lot we turned around and left immediately. We booked 1 night but did not spend the night in the hotel. The area was so scary! Drug, sketchy people, hotel looked so dirty from outside. Dirty parking lot. The room was over $100! It looked worse than a cheap motel. We left the area as quickly as possible. We drove very far and booked in Best Western instead. When we asked about the Luxury Inn hotel, the hotel staff in Best Western said that "Central" neighborhood is the worse in Albuquerque.
Hotels.com if you are reading this review you need to remove the Luxury Inn from your list of hotels ASAP. This is NOT a place for anyone to stay, let alone for a family with kids!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty room, shady activity in the parking lot all night, owners obviously don't care about the condition of the facilities only about making money. Only stayed because everywhere else was booked full. Steer clear
- Daryl (2/5): No way - Dirty
Smells, moldy, no water pressure.
- JohnM (6/5): - It's on Route 66 but didn't seem like a classy area. Room was OK, but no coffee maker.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I arrived and she gave me a room which had a sheet on the floor, which was spread from the bathroom to the outside area. It was soaking wet with a trash can collecting water from the upstairs bathroom leak. I left. There in NOTHING LUXURY about this property. Run.
- Mr.Honest (2/5): - I can see now why this motel has very low ratings. From the start, the manager had a very terrible attitude. I booked a room for 2 nights and
when I was checking in, I asked If I could please see the room before
I pay for it. She said Why? I told her, To be honest with you as I was booking this room the night before, I read a lot of bad things about this
motel. So she got upset and said you can look at 2 rooms. So I did
but both rooms did not have a microwave and refrigerator like the advertisement says that all rooms have. Plus one of the rooms the air
conditioner dis not work. So after I told her the situation, she gets mad at me, saying I don't like your attitude. So my nice respectful classy attitude changed to me cursing her out for disrespecting me. I highly don't recommend anyone to patronize this horrible establishment. Thank you!
- Arthur (2/5): - This place was horrible. The rooms smelled. There normally not hot water. There people hanging out using drugs. There was never any breakfast in the mornings and either there qas no coffee or it was cold.
- Kayla (8/5): - Its was ok. Could have been a little cleaner and more nice
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok - It was good for the price.
- Cynthia (6/5): - The hotel itself was very lovely, and the service was great... just the bed was very hard and uncomortable. Also, the faucet on the sink was leaking and it moved out of place when turned on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The door locks did not even work. It was impossible to lock the door inside the room without it being able to be opened from the outside
- Leith (2/5): - Very Rude Staff. Did not request a deposit until 11PM. 5 Hours after we checked in. Told us to pay a deposit or we have to leave the property.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Parking lot had trash. Lobby had a not pleasant smell
- Verified traveler (10/5): - THE LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY WAS AWESOME! THE ROOM WAS WARM AND CLEAN! ROOM FOR PARKING!
- debbie (8/5): - very clean, and friendly staff
- bonnie (2/5): - ugly, tasteless decorating, sloppy paint job, toilet stained at bottom, tv did not work, toilet flushed only after holding down the handle for an extended period. I didn't want to walk on the floor or use the tub or shower. In an unsavory part of town. homeless people around, hookers not far away. Pool and spa haven't been operating for quite some time. breakfast was coffee and a grocery -store celophane wrapped sweet roll in a battered pan. This property should NEVER be on an Expedia list of properties. I tried desperately to find another room, and because of a balloon festival, all nearby hotels fully booked.
- Chris (2/5): - Roaches all over the place. A wadded up towel in corner under bed. Outlets not covered up. Lights sometimes worked.
- monica (2/5): Vacate or get charges - They asked me to leave for he said no visitors, but it was my mom and he just told me to leave now no money for another hotel fit he charged me a deposit too very rude..
- Dylan (6/5): - It was OK. Not the beat part of town, room wasn’t all that well taken care of, but it wasn’t dirty by any means. My biggest complaint was the water pressure in the shower. It was a pain to shower with the small amount of water that would come out.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Did not like that they advertised for a pool and the area is used for storage also when it rained my roof had a leak in it
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was nothing about this property I liked. I highly recommended your money elsewhere. I was there for two hours and I seen a man doing drugs behind the trash can I recorded and took pictures of everything when I told the lady at the front desk she said I was lying because I wanted to stay there free it was a hotel horror DO NOT STAY HERE it’s dangerous!
- Timothy (4/5): Starting to slip in service - Shorts in electrical outlets causing lights to flicker. Burnt out lights and no bulb in lamps. Refrigerator was unplugged and defrosted, leaving water in the tray and begining to cause refrigerator to smell. Floor was not well vacuumed. WiFi never would connect to internet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really enjoyed stay. Kinda dissapointed sign says pool and there was none
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing that I like with this motel. I don`t fell I am welcomed.
- Karen (2/5): Not a Luxury to stay here. - The part of town was a little sketchy. Our room door could be pushed open easily from the outside even when locked. The manager first said there wasn't another room available but when I said I didn't feel safe he gave us a room just above the lobby. While there, the police showed up because of a disturbance and was there for at least a half hour. The ice machine was far from me so I drove and quickly got ice and left because the people standing around were a little scary looking. There were grown men hanging around in the alley near the hotel. I slept fully dressed and put our bags up against the door. We woke up at 3:30 and were out the door by 4:00. While loading two men were walking back from the Casino across the street and said, "Hey there momma you want some help". I just said good morning and no thanks. It was a stay full of anxiety.
- ben (4/5): cheap and ugh! - pool was closed. ice machine room was locked.
- Luis (8/5): Clean and comfy not luxurious - Hotel room was clean and comfy. Simple hotel with very simple amenities. No bugs. Clean bed. Mini-fridge and ice bucket. No pool.
- Sally (4/5): Convienient to Casino - What I would call a good old fashioned motel. Door doesn't close easily, A/C doesn't cool effectively, 2 sample size soap bars, 2 "ketchup" style packets of shampoo, several plastic cups. Continental breakfast was coffee & Dunkin Donuts (mini muffins one morning) IF you got there early enough. We stayed 7 days and got coffee every day but donuts were usually gone before 8:30 or 9 at the latest. No cream, just powdered creamer. Located on main drag. Walking distance to the casino and expo grounds.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was directly adjacent to the event we were attending
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Microwave and mini spottless. Mini soaps as well. Manager/owner he was outside watching the parking lot. He didn't recognize me and thought I wasn't suppose to be there. I may have been offended any other time but the client appeared a little rough so I am glad they care about safety.
- Stacey (2/5): Nightmare!!! - The first room we were put into had some type of box blowing, and had a very strong unpleasant smell. After reading the label on the box it stated “be sure humans and animals are not present”. 😳
The room was in my name, and after traveling for hours and hours, I slept. My husband tried to go to the office for the vending machine and they would not let him in. They literally told him to go wake me up to bring my ID for him to come in.
If we are ever in Albuquerque again, we will steer clear from this place!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My GUEST had an expired ID, BECAUSE IT WAS EXPIRED WE WERE NOT ABLE TO GET THE ROOM. THE ROOM WAS IN MY NAME, HE HAD IDENTIFICATION ONLY IT WAS EXPIRED. HE IS FROM ANOTHER STATE.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing unique.. generic room, broken swimming pool, breakfast... can't be called breakfast...
- james (8/5): Best hotel for going to concerts - We were able to walk to a concert, a rarity. Motel is clean and simple. Our room had a fridge and microwave. Price is very reasonable. Probably don't recommend to walk around after dark.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient and Amazing - Our stay was amazing and convenient to Tinsley Coliseum.
- Warren (4/5): Needs improvements - I am usually easy going and never complain, but I was very unhappy with the room my wife and I stayed in. First of all the door was super hard to open in fact my wife couldnt open it at all, I had to use some strenght to open it. Then when I entered the room smelled like mildew. The bedding was not clean many stains and cigarette holes. The sheets were clean though. The bathroom floor was super sticky. They advertise that they have a heated pool,( one of the reasons I chose this hotel) but when I asked where it was located the guy at the desk laughed and said that is hasn't been open for years. All night there was noise throughout the hotel and parking lot, apparently this hotel is popular for postitution. And two times during the night people tried opening the door, saying oops sorry wrong room. I couldn't change hotels because I was there for a wrestling match at the Tingley coliseum and had come from El Paso TX. IT was the only hotel close that had vacancies. Anyway some improvements need to be made to to ensure their overall success as a buisness.
- Sabrina (2/5): DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - The owner was a complete disrespectful jerk. First off I was told I couldn't have guest. That is ridiculous, I'm paying to stay why can you not have guest??!! 2nd I am diabetic my heater didn't work he refused to change rooms so I had to suffer since I already prepaid! The bed was horrible I felt springs in my back. He yelled at me. It was horrible horrible experience
- kathy (6/5): It’s not really luxury - Although our king reservation was not available anymore, they moved us to another hotel that had a king bed.
- Timothy (8/5): Improved since last visit - Check in was easy and fast. They have been working to improve the hotel and it is showing.
- Dest (8/5): - It was okay.
That's all i have to say. It didn't totally suck..........
- Randy55 (2/5): - Hard springs sticking out the bed, roaches in the bathroom, housekeeping forgot towels, light bulbs out, tv remote dead on arrival, continental breakfast = coffee in foam cups and prepackaged cheap pastries. Very disappointing, dont waste your money or time
- Linda (8/5): State fair visit - convenient access to the fair but smelled of smoke and could have been cleaner.
- Amanda (4/5): - The pool was not in working order and the rooms. We're very dirty the toilet leaked and the floor was horribly dirty
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel was in a very dangerous part of town. Very seedy and filthy. Room was okay, but wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
- Ashley (2/5): - The room was filthy, stains everywhere and cockroaches. The staff was barely seen and i would never stay there again. We had to buy blankets because theres looked like they had never been washed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Budget Friendly Hotel - My stay was enjoyable. I will stay here again. The hotel is across the street from a casino with live entertainment.
