Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room had excellent view of the river with balcony. Room was spacious
- William (8/5): Beautiful area to visit - Quiet location, the restaurant was closed but the bar open. There are other restaurants in the area although a lot more options across the river (by ferry)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - On the border of the Rhine a German hotel just as you expect it! Friendly personnel, a clean and spacy room and a clean bathroom. Breakfast was continental and complete.
- mustafa kemal (10/5): Mükemmel - Harika manzarali, yakin cevresi mukemmel, tertemiz genis odali, genis banyolu Avrupa standartlarinda ucuz bir otel...Cok memnun kaldık...Fransa tarafindan gelenler icin feribot kullanmak gerekiyor, giris saatlerine uymazsaniz karsi kiyida kalırsınız.
- George (8/5): - Great location for a relaxing Rhine valley stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast, decent room. We came at the end of a record heat wave; the fan was a big help. Would come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. It is located in the best place of the town, close to the main attractions: Loreley rich and Loreley monument. The view from our window was stunning, with the river right in front and the beautiful town on the hills behind. The price of the hotel includes breakfast and it is a really delicious and sumptuous meal. Our room was very clean, although small and with a feel of antique, but still enjoyable. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom rather small, but enough, shower working well. Hotel employee super professional, kind, jolly, speaking several languages.
I chose this hotel over other with higher prices and I don’t regret it. On the contrary, I would stay there even longer if I could.
- Nicola (8/5): Great cheap Hotel including breakfast on the Rhine - Good sized room with comfy beds and good bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and amazing. Furniture and carpet was outdated but excellent for the price. I did a lot of searching and this was one of the cheapest hotels on the rhine river. Do catch the car ferry over to ST Goar and do the castle! It's worth it. We had dinner at the hotel- great food- huge serving a bit pricy tho. I would recommend and I stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Essen, großes Zimmer
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tolles Haus, Preis, Leistung und Wohlfühlfaktor passen. Kann ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place had a spectacular view the staff as nice as you can get the hotel was very clean almost spotless the breakfast was superb i would stay again and recommend to anyone
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful
Great staff
Lovely view of lake
Food delicious
Short ferry to other side of lake
Mooie ligging, goede restaurants in de buurt. Op loopafstand van de Loreley
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wir waren vollends zufrieden. Für diesen Preis sehr gut.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nettes Hotel direkt am Rhein. Saubere Zimmer, freundliches Personal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Arvostelu - Mukava pikkuhotelli Reinin rannalla.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large rooms some with balcony. Frendly staff.
The wi fi works only in the lobby.
Alles is voldoende aanwezig.
- Lily (10/5): - Very nice hotel right in front of the Rhine easy access to ferry across and the train station. Their restaurant has a good variety as well as their breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel sehr gut gelegen, Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gut
- Werner (8/5): - super lage am rhein
- Erik (8/5): - Hotel is by the Ferry to the other side of the Rhine - good central location!
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Terri (8/5): - An older, but decent hotel. The location is beautiful. It wasn’t fancy, but then neither are we, just average moderate budget travelers. It was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and a nice complimentary buffet breakfast was included. It was a good deal for the price.
Personalet venlige, men talte kun tysk.
- Debbi (8/5): Charming Place on Rhine - Overall a great experience, beautiful scenery and the service was superb. Older furnishings but completely functional. Loved my visit.
- Lauren M. (8/5): Great deal, lovely breakfast - Room was older but clean, quite spacious, and ours happened to overlook the river, which was nice, although the street outside was a bit noisy. We stayed during a very unusual heat wave (34C every day!) and there was no AC, so sleeping was very warm, but that was so unusual for the area and no fault of the hotel. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful, free WiFi was a nice bonus, and the included breakfast was AMAZING! Typical lunchmeat, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, coffee.... plentiful and fresh! Would stay again.
- agnes (8/5): - Service was exceptional!
- Cameron (8/5): Good value, but town was deserted in mid June - Town was deserted when we were there in mid-June. Room was comfy and clean enough for the price. Came with free breakfast, but was upset when the staff wouldn’t let us eat at the same time as the tour groups also staying in the hotel.
- frank (8/5): Older hotel, pleasant - Little older hotel, small rooms, but clean.
Too bad there was no airco, but with the windows en door open it cooled off during the night
- Alexander (8/5): Nice typical old German hotel. - Check in was a breeze, and the guy on reception was very friendly. We used 2 rooms, both on the first floor, and both facing the river. We had rooms 104 and 105. The good points about the rooms and the hotel in general is that it is nice and clean. The Breakfast is superb, with sliced meats and cheeses, and also yogurt and fruit juices along with freshly boiled eggs and the tastiest scrambled eggs I have ever had. there is a largish car park right outside the hotel. The hotel is old, and is dated (in a nice way), and there is not a square angle anywhere, the floors are out of level, as are the ceilings. The rooms do need to be upgraded, but please do not think that they are bad. The beds were comfortable and both my Wife and I and my Son and his Fiancee slept well. My advice would be to take some earplugs, because you can hear traffic going past and the trains running behind the hotel. We paid £300 for 2 rooms for 3 nights including Breakfast, and that is a bargain.
- William (10/5): On the road again. - Our second German hotel and the service is great. Helpful desk, clean room, excellant breakfast.(best selection of teas). Thank you for a wonderfull time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice stop. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent deal for the price. There's a car ferry by the river as well.
- Tom (8/5): Beautiful view of the river. - No shower curtain in our bathroom which was perplexing. Otherwise it was spacious, clean and pleasant. Reasonably good breakfast included.
- morriss003 (6/5): A Good Stopover - This hotel has one of the best breakfast bars ever, and the view of the castle across the Rhine is magnificent, but the room itself is not that great. The bathroom shower door could not close properly, and the hot water ran out one afternoon. The floors are not level, and there is not really a good place to set up a laptop. The staff was excellent, very friendly. It's not far from the train station on the St. Goarshausen side and very close to the ferry that will take you to St. Goar.
- Gordon (10/5): Pohl's Rheinhotel Adler - We enjoyed 2 nights here and would recommend it to anyone considering the area. The parking (pay) is directly across from the hotel and the ferry to St Goar is a hop, skip and a jump from the hotel also.
- Joseph L. (8/5): Convenient to Mosel River cruise - Were very surprised to have to take a ferry across the river to reach the hotel!! Old but charming, nicely updated bath, right on the street but surprisingly quiet. After paying to bring car over then also pay parking across street from hotel no parking at the hotel. Super convenient for the boat trip on Mosel. Tickets and boarding right across from hotel. Wonderful breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not happy with our stay. - Our stay of not the best. The room needs updating and the carpet was dirty. The bed was pretty comfortable. I used some utensils and a bowl from the breakfast area, and the man at the front desk gripped me out for several minutes about how I should have gotten permission. I apologized but he went on and on. I get I should have requested utensils and a bowl, but he could have been respectful about it. The no one that worked there made much effort to be friendly and were rude. They also were not helpful when I asked questions regarding the local area. Ridiculous. The one good thing was the breakfast. It was good.
- sharon (10/5): Great little hotel - We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely room looking onto the rhein. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Could not fault this place for the price we paid. We would happily stay here again.
- Hardy (6/5): Nice but older - Nice, but older hotel. Nicely situated by the River Rhein, across from the ferry.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good location easy parking nice staff good bar ****
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel for a stopover - We've stayed at this hotel for three years now as a stop-over on our return from holidays in Austria. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, with a check-in that closes at 22:00 which is relatively flexible compared to similar hotels. The staff are also willing to assist with any enquiries and accommodating requests for Rhine views where possible.
The free breakfast is tasty if a little basic. The rooms are lovely though British travellers may not be used to double beds made up of two single mattresses pushed together!
- Verified traveler (8/5): St. Goarhausen; KD boat stop and ferry close. - We took the KD Loreley cruise, and rode the car ferry.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great stay - Nice view
- william (8/5): ??? whats this? - location was
great
- Irene (10/5): - Hotel located right on Rhine across from Ferry dock. Excellent views and location. Front desk service was excellent, room was very clean and comfortable and we were given upgrade to river view room. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to explore this section of the Rhine.
- Sheena (10/5): Visiting Lorelei - We are travelling from UK to Greece by car and wanted to stop on the Rhien. The views from this hotel are stunning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great view and good breakfast very reasonable - Great view and good breakfast, great value overall.
- Mike (10/5): perfect rest point - On the Rhine river near the famed historic point of the Lorelei. The staff was exceptional, the food was marvelous and the location was absolutely gorgeous.
- Gerald (10/5): Great German Hospitality. - Hotel was in a great position overlooking the Rhine, restaurant was really good ,breakfast was also good.Staff were very helpful and friendly, would recommend as an ideal place to stay.Price was good value for money.
- Stanley (8/5): One quiet night on the Rhine. - Small, quiet hotel we stayed at on the Rhine river to aytend Boppard wine festival. Nice breakfast included. Staff was friendly and helpful
- Crystal (8/5): Nice stay at this hotel - The hotel was very charming and the rooms were clean. All but one of the hotel staff were extremely nice and accommodating. Very helpful when we had questions. We arrived at the hotel in the morning due to an early flight and were pleasantly surprised that they could give us our room early. There was a back door in our room that lead to a nice garden area and the views from the dinner/breakfast area are beautiful. Free breakfast was delicious. You have to take a ferry back and forth from the train station but it's very quick and not too expensive. Comes very often, probably every 15-20 min. The only thing that I didn't like was when the cleaning lady left the back window right next to the door open when we were out but no further issues so overall, a very pleasant well run hotel. I would highly recommend this place!
- Lorrie (4/5): Great location priced right - The hotel is in terrible condition. Needs major updating. Carpets were stained and thread bear and thereby any sound proofing. We ate at the restaurant upon arrival that and the free breakfast was the high point of our stay. The saving grace was that it was steps away from the ferry from St Goar
- Verified traveler (10/5): The Pohl's Adler Hotel - The staff was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed meeting Lily, the friendly receptionist. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant that evening and the servers did their best to give us what we requested--an excellent German dinner. We went for a walk along the river Rhein and it was a beautiful, scenic, warm evening. The hotel is located in a good location between Rhudesheim where we took a river cruise and Koblenz - our next destination. We were treated to an excellent breakfast before leaving the hotel. Overall, a very good experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Americans in Europe - Beautiful location right along the Rhine River.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Right location for the event being attended - Hotel a little tired and expensive compared to Hotel Rheinkönig, Kamp-Bornhofen, 12kms down the road and used by us the previous two nights.
- Greg (10/5): Great Place to Stay - We wanted to see the Rhine castles and stumbled into this hotel and it was one of the best spots on our European trip. The room was small but
nice and clean, the staff friendly, internet fast in parts of the lobby, parking right across the street. The setting was wonderful. It is located on the Rhine river - from the third floor we had a great view or the river - One of the main castles to see is right across the river and the ferry is just across the street and runs about every 30 minutes. We loved the experience and would like to return and spend more time
- KG (8/5): Review - It was nice. Loved the view. Beds were comfortable. We rented two rooms, however only one had a TV. We would stay there again.
- ted2 (8/5): enjoyed our stay - new management and doing a good job , breakfast was good great position free parking in railway station no complaints
- Thomas (6/5): Trip on memory lane - Nice old-charme hotel by the river rhine. Rooms were a bit old but very clean. Had the a bit charme of a hotel 20 years ago. However the girl at the reception desk was very nice and didnt stop making jokes. We loved that. We didnt notice the train line only a few meters from the back of the hotel...no noise at all. The breakfast was very good. Overall i would come back here and recommend the place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming - Although this is located across the river from St Goar and the castle the ferry was right in front of the hotel and goes back and forth constantly so it wasn't an issue. The staff was friendly and the place charming.
- Dana Yaks (2/5): Anyplace else - Dark and dirty
- Tommy (8/5): Brilliant Little Hotel - Spent one night in this hotel as was watch a gig in Loreley. Couldn't have asked for a better location for what we wanted.
Great view of the river Rhine too.
Very pleased
- Dana Yaks (2/5): german department of health - This hotel was DISGUSTING! The bathroom had obviously not been cleaned (fecal matter in toilet, spattering of stuff on sink, top of toilet). The hall light outside the room wasn't functioning (dark, creepy), and the hall light inside the room made it hard to see. Bathroom light didn't function either (some kind of electrical short, which i figured out the next day - you have to pound several times on the switch, and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't). carpets stained, smell like beer, sweat. especially gross when you can't see. imagine using the bathroom at night with your cell-phone flashlight and seeing the fecal matter. so bad, i didn't bring my suitcase in. got a very bad bug bite (bed bug?) on my breast that had to come from the bed, because i always wear a bra (so a bug wouldn't have gotten in there in any other way). i felt i had to wear shower shoes in the tub, and then, much to my dismay, the water backed up to my ankles anyway. (and this with a very low water pressure, but the drain obviously didn't work at all.). YICK!!! GROSS! HOTELS.COM should discontinue their relationship with this hotel!!!
- Pete (10/5): Awesome. Fun. - We loved our stay. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We love both sides of the River and ferry back and forth was adventurous. We would do it again.
- Cezar (4/5): - Very old hotel, beds and bathroom clean but overall the hotel is in bad shape. Good breakfast though
- Ryan (8/5): Charming hotel in the beautiful Rhine Valley - Pohl's Rheinhotel Adler is a charming hotel along the Rhine Valley in Sankt Goarshausen. When booking this hotel, please realize this is not in Sankt Goar but in Sankt Goarshausen across the river. This is a bit inconvenient, as you must take a ferry across the river to get to it (no bridges on river). It's not bad though. If you have a rental car, you just drive the car onto the ferry to cross. It's sort of a fun experience and adds to the adventure element. Sankt Goarshausen is lovely and not quite as touristy, probably due to its location. I would still recommend staying at this hotel. The price is fair, and the staff and breakfast are very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming hotel, charming sights - This was the best place we stayed in our 2 week tour of Europe! Beautiful view. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay great.
