- Jackie (5/5): - The breakfast and breakfast area. The fact that housekeeping doesn't come around to the rooms to give fresh linen/clean towels. The fact that there was trash in the hallway from other guests that didn't get taken care of. You had to call down to the front desk for pretty much everything needed. Our room unit wouldn't go above 68 (the guy at the front desk did try to fix it but couldn't so he had to shut the unit off so it wouldn't keep blowing out cold air). The "kitchen" area the floor was sticky like something was spilled and not cleaned properly. The hotel had a pool which is great My kids love to swim but as soon as you walk in that's all you smelled was the chlorine.

Horrible - Two ladies that covered the desk The one night stay room we got for $ 177.00 Bath rooms: The shower hair looking like (pubic), some mold around Tubs Microwave had food and greasy hand prints. All mirrors were not totallly cleaned. Only one lady on the desks. She addressed our concerns right away. Asked for pictures , we complied. I am.Gave us another room to check out. We had 3 rooms more to check total of four rooms in similar disgust. The fifth room we were able to stay the night in reluctantly. This process took us about 1& 1/2 hrs to complete. We asked for some compensation because this was not a $177 room. Absurd to ask your guests to check up on the rooms & take pictures . Could understand only one person to run the desk. The lady did give us the name on the lady manager in the morning that could handle the question of some reimbursement. The manager on in the morning was also very responsive and we received a reimbursement of $99 for the stay..

When I woke up to no electricity, heat or hot water the deak laughed and said "yeah thay sucks" They then billed me and never gave me my Military discount. I called the main office on Monday and they simply said, sorry we will address it???? I paid 170. To sleep in the dark cold building and had to find a gym to get shower! Absolutely never again will I stay there. The manor on how they deal with issues!

Not enough towels, washcloth, or bath mat for our room/guests. Keeping warmers and utensils stocked was a concern. It may have been unusually busy that morning for breakfast.
- Lorraine (3/5): We made the best of it but not very pleasant - We asked for rooms close together and when we arrived, one room on 2nd floor and one on3rd . He did correct it but lectured me about booking from a third party. We had two rooms, when we walked in the first one it smelled vey strongly like someone had just done their business in there, we sprayed air freshener but could still smell the nasty smell all night. The second room had the outlet cover laying on the floor and smelled strongly of mildew. So although the beds were fine, there was dust laying on top of the shelves in the bathroom and other places. Just didn't feel like a quality hotel experience. The smell in both rooms, we found a little Debbie snack in pull out bed and there were crumbs on the floor when we got there.

There was mold in the shower in the corners. The fridge was making a high pitched sound the whole time. Thankfully we brought a box fan that covered it over enough.

Towel was used on the bathroom rack and bed sheets and comforter were scattered and not changed upon our arrival. We had to leave to go somewhere, so we asked that someone would come change the sheets while we were gone. When we came back the bed was freshly made and new towels were placed, however the prior guests used sheets were sitting on a chair in the corner. Not sure why they left the dirty sheets and pillow cases in the room.

It was really dirty the floors weren’t mopped the entire time we were there. My kids wanted to swim but the water was extremely dirty. There was a film on the top and extremely cloudy. Also a chewing tobacco can on the floor of the pool area for 2 days. Really disappointed in the cleanliness. Also we never seen a staff member at the front desk and when we did they never greeted us or even smiled. Very disappointed.

- 490PatM (2/5): Disgusting Room Conditions - We regularly stay at Holiday Inn Express locations, including this one in Butler, and we’ve never had this type of experience. Before writing this review I called the hotel three times during normal business hours asking to speak to the manager. I finally left a message and after four business days, received no response. Our family booked a two night, two room stay over the holiday weekend. One of the rooms (202) was fine. However the second room (314) had numerous problems, all of which appeared to be housekeeping related. I wasn’t aware of the extent of the issues until we’d checked out and I saw the pictures. I was appalled. The bathroom was clean, however these photos indicate the disgusting conditions found in the rest of the room. The photos speak for themselves. The partially eaten granola bar in the ice bucket was particularly horrible.

- Allyson (4/5): Great location, terrible communication - We checked in on Thursday night and paid for the room in full for a Thurs-Sun stay. Our paperwork mayched the price quoted by Hotels.com. The next morning we got call from the front desk asking us why our stuff was still in our room. They said we were only there for one night. I explained that we booked for 3 nights, were charged and had the confirmation. They were on the rude side saying that "Expedia only had us for one night". I kindly explained that we booked with Hotels.com not Expedia and that all confirmations, including the one at check in said 3 nights. They hung up.the phone then 10 mins later an additional 500.00 charge hit my credit card. I called and asked for the manager to call me, they never did. On Saturday I asked for the charge to be removed and they said "it would fall off on its own in 10 days". I again asked for the manager but he wasnt in. On Sunday at checkout they called the manager on his cell and he told me "there was nothing they could do and sorry someone didn't tell you sooner". So $1,200.00 worth of space is being consumed on my credit card without explanation as to why. I stay all over the world and have never had this happen. We fortunately have a high balance credit card, but for those who dont, beware.

- John (8/5): - Sadly we had no hot water for the first 12 hours we were there. Offered several different excuses as to why and for me neither were believable. Other guests were offered 30 % discounts and we were advised since we used Expedia to book there was nothing they could do. Ice machines only worked on one floor our entire time there. Breakfast buffet was OK and did give us a good start to the day. Nothing extravagant but we only took advantage on one day. Staff extremely friendly and helpful to the best of their abilities. We understand things happen outside of ones control and this was just a stay that saw that.

Did you charge a premium to stay at this hotel which is not worth it for the service you get

That was a big letdown. Still, the excellent service and comfortable room might bring me back for another stay. Cleanliness, dead of winter and pool had no heat. Breakfast was subpar
