• Sabrina (6/5): Ok for a night… - You need to check that the windows close and lock. Lots of men staying at the hotel but didn’t see any families. We were two women and while the hotel has security and is gated, I probably wouldn’t stay there again or by myself.

• andrew (10/5): - Sure you can find other budget hotels. But a remote controlled A/C, cable TV, marble showers, clean bedsheets, fridge just 2 mins from the beach!! Smart travellers nowdays care less about the lack of shampoo/bottled water and more about a safe and welcoming haven away from home. The management and the person greating you on arrival (Joel) offer the same kind of TLC and honesty that makes for a successful human services business anywhere in the world.

• Brooklyn (8/5): Decent for the price and a short walk to the beach - I only stayed the night, but I had a decent experience. The hotel itself had no bells and whistles, but the room was clean and I slept fine. There was a leak in the plumbing below the bathroom sink, though had I been staying longer, I'm sure they could have fixed it. When I got up in the morning, I went to the beach, which was a mere 5 minute walk from the hotel. The water at the beach was crystal clear and warm, even on an early February morning. I had very limited time there, but I thought the hotel was pretty good for the price.

Some improvements could be done so it is a bit nicer to chill on the property:) but overall good stay and definitely recommended!!

Staff were very helpful and there was a good selection of breakfast items. Bed and linen were in good condition. Very convenient location close to supermarket and restaurants.

The hotel itself is located 100 yards from the beach and the bars, cafés and restaurants on Avenue Duarte. Understandably the hotel is an older facility as are most of the hotels in the area, Housekeeping does a fantastic job of cleaning the room on a daily basis, The water is hot and the air conditioner work well. I am planning another trip later this year and will definitely be using the Garant hotel.
• Jose (8/5): - The hotel is really clean, quiet, and safe. It is 3 blocks from the beach, but not in the middle of all the noise at the Calle Duarte, which is a good thing. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Breakfast is delicious and you have plenty of choices. Those are the reasons that I keep coming back. I have stayed there for 5 years now.

Anything you need the manager will take care of it. Best security guard around. In room safes. Good a/c and hot water. I been coming to Boca Chica since 2006 and this is always my spot.
