Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very old and dirty we had to ask for a better room that had air con working our second room had dirt in all the corners the bathroom was covered in mould and worn out tiles all the taps continuely ran .the breakfast was the same every day with no buffet, which was advertised no mini bar which was advertised no water sports gear which was advertised not even cushions on the lilos this place is a dump, stay away!!
- ニッキー (8/5): - 頑張って清潔感をキープしですが、建物の古さが少し気になった。スタッフも人によって対応がかなり変わるので良い人に当たると最高なんだけど。。。
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Liked location, staff helpful, gardens well presented, entire units in bad need of a complete renovation. Stayed 2 years ago and not one improvement in that time.
- Mark (8/5): - Older villas but larger size rooms, good area and breakfast, plenty of restaurants close by.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very old and dated property. The padlock on the doors are just strange. Showers didn’t work for a day. I wasn’t impressed with the place overall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - for the price i paid it was ok
- Mojie (10/5): - Fantastic
- Verified traveler (6/5): - PLACE WAS ADEQUATE ON THE BEACH STAFF VERY HELPFUL WOULD NOT GO BACK
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They missed our airport pickup, but they were very apologetic.
Room was large, but the pillows were a little firm for our liking.
Huge bed. Beautiful garden path.lovely view and easy access to beach. Good wifi.
Close to bank/services.
Very quiet.
We will be back
- Carol (6/5): - Very traditional accommodation in gardens leading to beach & restaurant. Rooms exterior woodwork needs little attention. Very friendly.
Constantly had to request that towels be changed due to their wear and appearance. Always replaced with newer more acceptable towels.
- Shane (6/5): - When we booked we knew what we were getting . This is a down to earth place to stay and filled our needs . The problem we had was the bed was not comfortable. And every time we turned over the bed squeaked a lot which keeped us awake . The breakfast was ok but after 12 nights there we got a bit board with the menu . The food was ok.
If you want somewhere quiet this place is ok to stay at for the money . Each day we were there we had the pool to ourselves .
- Ez (6/5): Cheap, beach front, halal restaurants, comfy hotel - I came here alone to simply have a me time. So, I purposely chose this hotel for the reasonable rate and the fact that it's beach fronting, sandwiched between larger established hotels. Hotel ground is pretty, similar to most Bali hotel grounds. Hotel staff were friendly. Sourcing for food was easy. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Arts & craft shops too. The beach was nice, however, too much plastics washed ashore which is a Bali's problem. Plenty of water activities to do. Massage by the beach and strolling on the beach is very nice.
- Chi (8/5): Old Balinese feel - If you're budget conscious, this place is perfect. Location is awesome and you get to enjoy the pool and same beach with Holiday Inn and Conrad. Old Balinese style embraced in beautiful garden, really quiet and the polite staff is a plus. Our room was ok but the bed isn't comfy and the towels are awfully old. However, we were out all day so it didn't matter much. Simple buffet breakfast included.
- Katrin (8/5): a little gem that would need polishing - We loved the setting, this fairytale garden with little ponds and mossy gods and demons. It's wheelchair accessible except for the two steps up to the restaurant and a steep step over a portal into the room which would need a little excercise. Rooms are spacious and stylish. Bathrooms a little outworn. Airconditions need servicing. Personnel enjoy easygoing jobs, without proper managerial supervision. The little pool is a real add-on not to be missed as the sea in front is dominated by watersports. As the Conrad's next door is currently renovated building activity disturbs the tranquility. But the many birds and squirrels that inhabit the hotel grounds don't mind.
- Kamalakannan Siddharth (10/5): Absolutely loved it! Highly recommended - The stay was absolutely amazing! All the people at the hotel were very very friendly. There is continuous hot water, WiFi is available throughout the hotel, the private beach at the back of the hotel is very clean and not at all crowded!
The receptionists and all the other staff are very helpful and when I was in a fix with my flight tickets, they went out of their way to help us out.
Highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay in Nusa Dua, with no noise or any other disturbance and a great, friendly set of locals to interact with!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location and environment - Door need to change to more secure and safe. This villa need to update
- glennis (8/5): Good hotel and the pool area and beach were great - Need a place that I could just rest and relax. This hotel did all this for me.
- Barry & Liz (10/5): Great beachfront accommodation - Stayed for a week.. could have easily stayed longer.. If you are looking for a true balanese style small friendly reasonably priced resort right on a fab beach then give it a go. Staff are only too happy to help, get you anything you need and went out of their way to help us while we were there.
Its not a five star Hilton, but that's not what we were looking for, and if you like the local flavour when travelling this has sure got it. Your'e not treated just as a "room number"
- Darren (8/5): Quiet and old fashioned on the beach - For the price brilliant Nice people, on the beach and breakfast was a bonus
- sandra (2/5): The bathroom was unusable stained old cockroachs - The room was full of mold and the waterfront we paid extra for was unavailable. Don't stay here you can do much better for the same money
- Jen (8/5): Would stay again - Staff very friendly. Seems to be one of the only traditional and small hotels left in the area. Room was a good size with an inside and outside shower so you have the choice. Room was clean, huge mosquito nets all the way around the 4 poster bed which was great. Breakfast was ok, choice of veggie, American and Indonesian styles. As well a second pastries, cereal and toast. Fruit had ants on it tho unfortunately. Seating area overlooked the ocean so very picturesque. Pool area small but very quiet and looked clean. Communal toilet in the eating area was disgusting though. Only real bad point to mention. Cheap and cheerful compared to the rest. Lots of restaurants nearby too.
- Sean (8/5): Well located - right on the beach - Nice hotel for the price, very spacious room / bathroom, and well kept garden area. Bar was a bit disappointing, stick with just ordering a beer here. Breakfast was very good. Overall, would give this one a thumbs up!
- g (6/5): Great location hotel needs money spent on it. , - If money was spent painting inside and out and better shade areas this could be a 4star hotel
Chalets are big staff good right spot .
- Ahmed (6/5): Quiet hotel very close to beach and amenities - Very quite hotel compare to other big hotels surrounding it. Ideal for people prefer less crowded place. Next to beach and water activities.
Cons
No shower curtains. Which result a floody bathroom floor.
Bath tub blocker did not work.
Wifi signal was next to dead. Told the reception 3 times. Nothing happened.
Welcome drink was some kind of fruit syrup with water.
But it was a buget accommodation which suited our financial plan. Options for local food and shopping was good.
- thaidi (8/5): Quaint Balinese Hotel - Although this hotel is a little rundown, it was a cute authentic Balinese ppace to stay, among the big, ugly expensive hotels at Nusa Dua. We had friends come and have a drink and dinner with us who were staying next door at the Conrad, and they thought it was a wonderful place as well. The food and service was just as good as the Conrad, BUT so much cheaper. Definitely value for money.
- Mieczyslaw (8/5): Peaceful , simple , cheap traditional little hotel - The accommodation is a self contained villa built in Indonesian pagoda style with a surrounding wall for privacy. Access is from a tropical tree lined avenue with nice gardens , fishpond etc ,very relaxing and peaceful .nice small pool , restraint and bar
And beach within 50 metres walk . Very attentive , polite and efficient staff. Taxi easy to get into town on road passing hotel every minute .
Only negative the room air conditioning could not cope with the high heat and humidity.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small, quiet hotel wedged between resorts - A welcome relief from the mega resorts. Air conditioning units from Holiday Inn next door very close to villa 8 and noisy. Noise also travels through rooms with joining doors.
- Jasmine (6/5): Excellent location - Room was tidy but could have been cleaner. Toilet did not flush well and staff were notified. Didn't fix the problem though. Staff were lovely. But a bit expensive for the standard of cleanliness.
- Donna (8/5): Nice Hotel - We have stayed here before, and enjoy it's smallness and tranquility.
- Mill (8/5): Great location, homely. - Exactly what you would expect from a three star hotel, Location was perfect and very homely , rooms tidy, and staff friendly . Very quiet which is hard to find in bali, don't stay there if you expect five staff performance but it is exactly what it states , three star quality.
- Thi Kim Loan (6/5): My review - The room was clean and tidy. I am most satisfied with the altitude of the employees in the hotel: friendly, willingly with smiles. The hotel amenities are fair. But the hotel is far from big shopping center. I could not find high-quality products in super markets around the hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced, poor maintenance - We arrived pretty late at the hotel around 9pm, we dropped our bag in the room and we rushed out to have dinner as most of the restaurants around that area is close early.
We came back to hotel around 12 midnite and that's when the nightmare began.
We noticed that the bed sheet is very dirty, some dusts and sorry.... pubic hair, Yes!
We tried to call housekeeping but no one picked up. So we went out to see and no body was in the front office, but we spotted a guy who is sleeping soundly, so we woke him up and we assume him as the security guard.
He was helpful, he helped us to change the bed sheet at around 1 am.
During the changing of the sheet, he actually put the fresh bed sheet on the floor. Ouch!
So he finished around 1.15, tried to took shower to find out the shower head is very rusty and dirty, the drainage didn't work well, and the water is very salty.
The next day we managed to 'catch a housekeeping' to fix the drainage, and what he did was just scrubbing the floor and around the drainage area. Voila! the water can be flushed out.
We informed the girl in the front office area about our 'experience' when we checked out and her response : O ya? Really?
and that's it, no sorry nothing.
To sum up, the management should really manage the hotel by doing regular maintenance,
the staff not all of them are friendly and helpful,
the price that we paid is really way overpriced for that kind of standard.
- John (10/5): A old gem sandwiched by new concrete. - We stayed in an Ocean Villa and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This an old place and the drains whiffed a bit towards the evening and our pillows were old and need to be replaced. But we score it 5/5 as a good value proposition. On either side The Konrad and the Holiday Inn tower above and have majestic frontages compared to the Benoa which has a reception area the size of a broom cupboard.
So if you want modern, but small, rooms go next door. If you want large rooms and old style Bali character then go to the Benoa.
- maxine (4/5): Nice hotel. Bed and pillows so hard I had to leave - Had to leave ,did not sleep for the time I was there. So I had the expense of other accommodation. Most disappointing. I stayed only 6 nights of the 14 that I had paid for. A refund should be made to me.
- Anjana (6/5): peaceful holiday - We enjoyed our time in the resort. Very nice and relaxing hotel. All of them are nice. Thanks to them.
- Donna (6/5): On the beach, quiet, friendly staff. - Location made up for shortfalls in any form of luxury! Only one night was noisy due some loudly complaining guests, who thankfully only stayed one night.
- Anjana (6/5): Great place to relax. - It's nice place to relax. It has nice view. It's near to the ocean. If some one wants to enjoy Balinese accommodation this one is perfect.Price is reasonable. The staff are friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks.
- Tony (2/5): this place is a dump - filthy dirty outdated padlock for a front door ............................
- John (4/5): Attractive property with disappointing operation - This set of villas is surrounded by large complexes so it does stand out as a peaceful retreat amongst the concrete ugliness of the so called high end hotel chains. The setting is Balinese with winding paths, fish ponds, tropical gardens and close to the beach. There is no street noise although the rooms are very tired, not that clean and the bathrooms were very mouldy. The reception staff were very helpful particularly when we had no hot water in the bathroom( this was rectified eventually). The next day we actually had no water and as we were about to leave we just gave up. The breakfast was of 3 choices and average at best. The pillows on the bed were appalling with stained pillow cases and the mattress was equally appalling. This resort has so much potential if the owners put some effort and funds into much needed maintenance and updating (or at the very least replace mattresses, linen, towels and pillows). They could also do with some understanding of what a Balinese resort of this type is all about. It is however such a better location than the big resorts. They did arrange airport transfer for us...great driver and all worked well on the day. One glaring fault was that we were presented with a menu of drinks and food to be told that there was only beer or soft drinks available despite a extensive drinks list. We quickly lost confidence in eating in the restaurant apart from the adequate breakfasts
- Verified traveler (4/5): nice neighborhood but very old hotel - we booked two room, and apparently different room has different interior. one of them was very old, and the other was slightly better.
- Sam (8/5): Delightful Benoa - Benoa is a lovely spot in Bali. It is wedged between two large upscale hotels. The service is efficient but not rapid. We had a lovely time in our very relaxed private villa. The breakfast was delightful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): hideaway - delightful ambiance, beautifully peaceful. directly on the beach
- Robin (10/5): For a romantic getaway - great place , fantastic ambiance. snuggled between the modern concrete blocks you feel like you are in a time warp/ The food was tasty and good value for money.
- Yash (6/5): A mediocre hotel. - Salty water in the taps and pool. Very lazy response by the staff. Ibis styles just infront is a much better hotel at almost same price.
- JW (8/5): Couples holiday - Unfortunately there was construction going on both sides of the hotel grounds, this meant there was quite a bit of noise late into the evening. During the construction, the hotel phone/internet lines were cut (not the fault of Benoa), just an unlucky accident to happen whilst we were there. The Staff are extremely helpful, very easy to communicate with, and wen out of their way to assist us with some quirky issues we had experienced (phone chargers not working correctly). They are all very knowledgable of the area, and have suggestions of tours to participate in.
- richard (2/5): construction site - to start with we were right next to a construction site which worked from 8 am to midnight every day which we were not informed of and the site overlooked the entire complex so no privacy at all the sheets and pillow cases were yellow and stained very outdated beds then on our last night asked for taxi to be booked for airport early next morning then phones our room 11.55pm and ask me to go to reception to pay mini fridge bill as person on reception in the morning will be asleep we were not impressed at all
- Ro (8/5): - Facilities: Getting a bit tired; Value: N.b Rack rate poor value;
Food- room service only available - ask staff to come to your room when ordering so you can point to menu, english skills of kitchen staff poor
- Leon (6/5): -
All up, value for price bring mosquito spray and patience.
