- Susan (10/5): Perfect getaway for the day. - The Shore House is directly across from the sea wall with a wonderful view of the water. My favorite spot is the Adirondack chairs out front. The sunrise is exceptional and it is a great location... Close to everything. I was there in a Monday- the restaurant is closed Mondays. The staff offered great recommendations though.

The Shore House feels like home! - Location and view from my room could not have been more convenient, more beautiful or more soul-settling. Whether it be a sunrise start to the day or a moonlit end to the day, it is safe and beautiful Breakfasts were quite ordinary, and I would have appreciated a writing desk in the room. Other than that, I had no complaints and no concerns.

- Holly (6/5): - The dumpster had trash outside of it for days. You could smell it from the front side of the building. Bags of wash sat out in the parking lot. Floors were never cleaned. Breakfast was sad- just don’t do it. Day old frozen danish and stale bagels were not appetizing. Parking should be assigned spots- the shuffling was crazy. Location was great.

When I tried to book an extra night, the prices were $200 more than most of the other hotels in the area. Didn’t feel it was worth that much more.

- Sydney (10/5): Labor Day getaway - It was a great experience, we were met in the parking lot by Nikki, the hotel manager. Very friendly, and very helpful. It was very clean and the cleaning staff took great care of the room every day. They had a great continental breakfast offered in the lobby and the people that worked. They were very friendly.
- JOANNE (10/5): I always cry when I leave - I highly recommend The Shore House - Love the decor of the room, the interior of the hotel, the restaurant and the continental breakfast. I usually stay in room 10 (stand alone room with porch) and this time stayed in room 20. I won't do that again as I was woken up by the Guests above. It sounded like they were moving furntiure and did not stop their children from jumping - so it was pretty noisy.
- Nancy (8/5): Pleasant hotel, great location and friendly staff!!!! - Did not eat there but after breakfast hours I wanted a cup of tea and the person at the desk was gracious enough to get me a cup! The location is perfect right on the main drag and easy to locate. Having the bar right there was good too since it was a windy and rainy day and nice to stop in and have a cocktail. All the staff, both at the front desk as well as in the bar were friendly. Well we stayed at this location when it was The Rose and had the room up top with the balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a beautiful room and spacious. Our room this time was smaller, in the back and seemed to be for a young surfer guest. Also, the sink had a faucet that was hard to brush your teeth in because it stuck out so much.

Unfortunately, we had a family emergency on Wednesday morning and had to rush back. So we barely had two days to fully enjoy our time. Once again none of this was the fault of the Inn. Life just wanted to happen.

The staff was unhelpful. Continental breakfast oranges were non-peel able and dry like they have been sitting out for a month. Bad experience all around

Unfortunately I did not know until I arrived at the property that there was no elevator and my room was on the second floor. I am an older woman with arthritic knees so this was definitely a problem for me. Fortunately, there was someone to help me up with my bag. Basically, it was a very nice property....clean and comfortable. The shower and toilet were in one area and the sink was in another. The sink was tiny and difficult to use....ie....brushing my teeth over this little sink was difficult. Also, the walls were thin and children in the next room made a hell of a lot of noise at 7am!! Breakfast in the lobby was sufficient. The restaurant food and service were good. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall....it was a good experience.
- Miles (3/5): Not worth what the room cost - The staff was nice The light in my shower was not working. I asked the staff to fix it and they did not. I have certain expectations for rooms in the $500 range, and the room felt very cheap. To me it was not worth what the room cost.
- Rachel (8/5): - Beautiful property with a fun bar/restaurant downstairs, great location and staff, easy parking. The only complaint was the bedding didn’t fit quite right which was a hassle, but overall, great stay!
- McNellis (5/5): Can’t beat it for location, but don’t expect any frills. - Can’t beat the location- we could walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The rooms had a nice view, but ours was facing the kitchen door of the restaurant mostly so it was noisy. The staff of the hotel however are very friendly and helpful. Comfy beds! As mentioned above, the rooms all face the back kitchen of the restaurant and parking lot. Unfortunately, we had the two end rooms on the second floor- and the garbage dumpster was also just below us. We heard them dumping bottles late in the evening which was really loud, and the restaurant garbage was overflowing and piling up all over the side of the dumpster. It smelled horrible and in the heat of August was pretty gross. It made sitting out on our balcony - on the opposite side- pretty nasty. The rooms were very basic, which was fine, but could be cleaner. We had broken tile in our shower, and the patio furniture was really dirty and mildew. The fabric divider on our balcony was all town and was behind held up with a wooden hanger.

It did have the ramp, but no seating chair for the shower and it was located near the b k of the kitchen and the view from the window was the storage areas with beer kegs and what not laying around. The hotel location and the other room with a balcony were great. Need to improve on the ADA room though

- Verified traveler (8/5): August stay 2025 - Hotel had poor reception on cell phone networks and only has an unsecured WiFi, a secured WiFi specific to guests would be appropriate. More protein options for free breakfast would be helpful. Cleaner bathroom ceiling exhaust and bathroom shower floors would be nice. Bathroom shower soap option would be helpful. Beds are on a boxy loud platform base, outdoor patio furniture discolored and appears dirty. No additional in room door locking feature except for key card entry on exterior of door.

- Sharon (10/5): - Room 31 was on the corner, so it had a lovely partial ocean view from the balcony. I got a lot of exercise going up the stairs to get to that level, which was good for me. The shower products were three oddly different scents: rum, peppermint and cilantro. I did mention this at checkout.

- William (8/5): - Very nice mini vacation (2 nights). Ocean views from across the street (although there is no beach across the street) nice to walk and look at the water. Room nicely decorated in a retro feel. Parking was strictly enforced for guests only. Good to know you'll have a parking space when returning from a day at the beach or sightseeing. All the staff we came in contact with (front desk, housekeeping and waitress) were helpful and very pleasant with the exception of the bar staff who were very slow to acknowledge our party sitting at the bar, otherwise engaged with the group of young female guests. Our room was in the back of the property, not in the main house. Only complaint is housekeeping, and garbage bins were in our pathway to our car. It would be nice if they were not in sight of guests. Also, we had a direct view of the back of the kitchen where they prepped some food outside. Again, should be kept out of view with a simple fence. These are easy fixes and I would recommend this property to others.

- Miki (10/5): Great Stay for Dog Owners - Had a great stay at The Shore House - dog-friendly with a fee - came with a cute goodie bag of a toy, treat, paper bowl, and some poop bags. Room was spacious and pretty design. Sink was a bit awkward as the faucet was too big/long for the sink tub. But overall, the room was very comfortable. Location was perfect, great for walking the dog along the water, and a short drive to a dog friendly beach.
- Nicole (5/5): I will definitely not be staying there again. - The location and walking distance to the beach. Dirty sheets and comforter as well as pillow case when we arrived and a set of sheets on the bed was ripped, shower still had sand and something brown on the shower floor, shower leaked to the point had to put several towels in front of it to soak up the water even with the doors to shower closed. Very late in servicing the rooms and felt as if you needed to stay out all day and night until it was done. Not allergen friendly. Says it comes with a breakfast that is included but it is just breads and bread products, fruits, coffee, tea and oranges in the fruit basket was bad. Floor was still coated in sand when we arrived. Parking was limited and barely enough room for even one car for each unit and back lot is great for smaller cars but not larger cars. Plants and shrubs very overgrown in the front if you have a room with a patio. Little kids in the rooms above us running around until 11pm and started at 7am. I have a kid and booked a lower floor for that reason. Anyone with kids 10 and under should not be allowed to book a room on second floor. I understand we stayed during Fourth of July but the price paid for the 1st-5th of over $2,000 was not worth it at all.

The staff was very friendly. There is also parking for hotel guests. The rooms are charming and pets are allowed. The bed was a little firm and there was no hand soap provided. The WiFi was very slow in the room. The sink in the bathroom is awkward and you can't brush your teeth without spilling water. We also had one hair in the bedding.

- Alyssa (3/5): Not comfortable and bad vibes - Location. Pet-friendly Manager at the front desk was not hospitable. I was charged twice for a resort fee. I explained there was only an additional pet fee and the resort fee was not to be collected and she told me I need to read the confirmation when I book things. I was refunded the resort fees, but I was not apologized to. No one called me back to follow up and tell me that they were wrong, but they sure made sure I knew that I was not right on the initial phone call. The beds were moving across the room every time I turned over. The room smelled like we stayed in a vets office. I’ve stayed at pet friendly accommodations before and they did not smell like that. I felt like I was sleeping in a kennel just to have my dog with me. The pet fee is $100 no matter how many days you stay, which is not stated in the listing. She didn’t tell me there was a resort fee at check-in, which would’ve resolved the issue immediately and when I checked out, I asked if I needed to do anything I was checking out early and she didn’t give me my bill. She didn’t take off one of the nightly resort fees that I wasnt supposed to be charged anyway. She was not managing the way a manager should. Her vibe was like she was better than her guests. When she speaks to you, she belittles you. She pretty much told me I was stupid when she was wrong and charging me twice for something I already paid for. Not fun!
- Linda (8/5): - Lovely staff. Location perfect. The only 2 things I was not happy with was how thin the walls were making it able to hear everything going on in the rooms next door and above. The other issue was there was no blackout or a drape blocking the light coming through the window blinds making the room too bright to be able to sleep in.

- Marjorie (9/5): Superb - The only thing I wasn't happy with was how small the room was. It was the smallest hotel room I'd ever stayed in. Also, it had "2 beds and a patio," but it wasn't until I arrived that I realized it wasn't really a private patio; it was an area by the parking lot with seats in front of all the rooms. False advertising. The hotel itself and the location were beautiful.
- Venture382898 (2/5): No refund even in a medical emergency. - There was no stay because we had a family medical emergency which resulted in having to make a cancellation. Per hotel policy, cancellations made one month before the reservation are non refundable. I made my reservation exactly one month before which meant I was very committed to keeping this reservation especially since my credit card was charged immediately for the full amount. Unfortunately things happen and a medical emergency has prevented us from keeping our reservation. This hotel initially would not even allow me to speak with a supervisor when I called to cancel. They would only give a one night refund even though I offered to pay 10% of the full amount as a penalty. This hotel does not operate in good faith. I would not book at this hotel unless you’re ready to lose your money! I’m not trying to make problems. This is a legitimate reason to cancel on short notice and it has caused undue stress on top of having a medical emergency to deal with.

- Kate (5/5): Disappointed with staff response to my concerns about the noise from the kitchen below. - Breakfast was fine. Room was clean. Unbeknownst to me, I reserved a room that did NOT have an ocean view AND was directly above the kitchen. I could hear loud music and kitchen noises into the night. I spent a lot of money and am very disappointed. When I relayed this to the front desk personnel, they laughed like it was funny that we heard kitchen noises through the night. She also said that that was the room I chose. I would never ever choose a room over a kitchen. I felt I was not heard and also taken advantage of. I will not go back.

- Emma (1/5): Expensive and not worth the trip - Curtain and shades were not usable. Lock on the door was broken. Our reservation through booking.com was never received by the hotel. One of our guests was very sick and the hotel would not accompany any changes to the reservation times. Take some notes from Scarborough beach motel.
