Guest Reviews
- cameron (2/5): - Air cdn cancelled our flight due to on strike , therefore we can’t stay in hotel. We tried to contact hotel for credit or move to other days and they rejected.
- Katin (8/5): - Convenient location for different purposes. High CP value but the interiors may need some refurbishments.
- Katin Clement (8/5): - Don't expect it's a formal hotel providing great amenities but it has high CP value. Staffs are friendly with the cosy environment makes you feel staying at home. You can make simple meal with microwave oven in the pantry if you are tired of dining out. Prime location close to MTR. Convenient for various purposes
- Ping Wah Dominic (10/5): - Staff are friendly and helpful.
- DI DI (8/5): - Great location. Walking distance to MTR station
- LOK YEE (6/5): - Easy transportation especially taking ai
- Chung Mei (10/5): - Clean, good price. Will definitely come again in future.
- Hooi Yoke (8/5): - Value for money, easy accessibility. Overall satisfied with the condition considering the building has been around for quite some time. Bonus point is its complimentary breakfast, simple but sufficient.
- susana (8/5): - Like the location
- Wai Ying (10/5): Great stay! - Everything is good ,great area to stay ,so much food and shop around the hotel, lot of buses and subway near by .
- Frankie (8/5): - The front desk staff were very nice. The dehumidifier worked wonderfully. They also included the light breakfast. That is the bonus. However, the staff did not clean the floor during daily cleaning. Small garbage left on the floor for days.
- Connie (8/5): - Convenient location and close to MTR, easy access to shopping malls and restaurants. Staff was helpful, comfort stay and room is quite spacious than normal hotel room. Self-serve laundry facility on site which is a bonus.
- Freeman (10/5): - Great place to stay with reasonable price
- Rocelyn (10/5): - Very convenient, easy access to restaurants, supermarkets and mtr. Will definitely choose this again the next time we go back to hk
- Chi Ho (8/5): - This delightful hotel is situated within 8 mins walking distance to an MTR station and within 5 mins walk to a bus stop travelling into the city centre. The hotel is thoughtfully equipped with access to hot water for drinks and laundry facilities for self-service. The staff are helpful and friendly, adding to an overall enjoyable stay.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - Laundry available
- Verified traveler (10/5): Worth the longer journey to save some buck. - Most tourist may not pick Chai Wan area, but its ok, just longer travel time to the end of MTR line. Room are cleaned daily. Decent space for our twin beds room, with shower only. Its great they provided basic breakfast when we are on a budget. Just coffee/tea, a bun, a fruit, a biscuit. TV are local channels. There are convenience stores nearby and a neighbourhood mall beside it too, able to get fast food, congee, roast goose, bakery, breakfast shops etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Love Yloft ~ comfy - We love YLoft~ spacious , good location , bright atmosphere and also user friendly. Wonderful common big table with microwave , laundry, gym . Especially the morning good quality coffe and cakes buns ~ superb 👏
- James (10/5): - Good for trivial and easy to take meal
- Pui Lam (10/5): - Clean, room is big enough
- Quinnie (6/5): - Overall I only can say just average, I booked that hotel 6 months ago that I can get a good deal, based on the early bird price is ok, but if I pay in regular full price, I can say that not reaching the level, you can have lots of choices or even better out there.
Breakfast included, but only bread and coffee. The coffee from the machine is pretty good. The room is spacious, not bad. They have a laundry room, washer and dryer, easy to operate, not bad.
They change your towels and bed sheets only when needed. Maybe their point is Eco friendly, but it's like I said, if I pay full price, that is not what I expected. One thing I am not happy with, one time when I back to hotel late at night, my room door not close probably, anyone can push and get into my room, that really shock me, I didn't go to reception to complaint, I don't think they can do anything other than say "o, sorry", and luckily I didn't lost anything.

- Jason (6/5): economical hotel - This is the place is good for sleeping. MTR , also have place for your baggage.
- Francis (10/5): - Overall is good deal...no complaints.
- PO CHI (8/5): - 一切都不錯,只是房間有一些味道,是不是消毒藥水?不太知道。很欣賞有洗衣及乾衣的地方。及有咖啡及水果供應。
- So Ling (8/5): - The property manager Tony is very concerned, helpful and polite. On the whole the room is quite spacious but needs some renovation!
- Florence Kit Man (8/5): - Overall, the hotel is not bad. For a budget option, it is quite good; however, it is starting to show signs of age and could benefit from some renovations.
The location is excellent, as it has a pedestrian bridge that connects to the MTR subway station, a bus terminal, and a minibus terminal. Additionally, there are three shopping malls, two wet markets, and Chai Wan Park nearby, which enhances the convenience.
I remember visiting this hotel when it first opened, but unfortunately, many facilities have since been removed, including the cafeteria and the rooftop walking trail.
During my recent visit to Hong Kong over the last few weeks, I usually left the hotel every day around noon and did not return until after dinner. As a result, the lack of on-site amenities did not bother me much. However, if I had wanted to relax in the hotel, my options would have been limited to staying in my room.
The staff were friendly and ready to answer questions and provide assistance. The housekeeping team ensured that clean towels were provided daily, and the air conditioning worked well.
I would advise installing one or two additional electrical sockets in the room. Additionally, adding a small shelf and several hooks for hanging clothes in the toilet cubicle and shower area would be beneficial.
- kevin (10/5): - Only hotel in chai wan. It’s decent enough when visiting family. Rooms are a bit dated, but can’t beat the location and price. Kinda tricky to locate, its reception area is on the 12 floors, and elevators to the lobby may be difficult to discern. Hotel is walkable to the chai wan station on the blue line and has the jade shopping center for food, clothes and other services. Note, the hotel has laundry machines and dryers for self service. Overall, it’s a good experience, enjoy your stay. PS: ask local for directions to Fulum palace for dim sum and Chinese food. Also check out sun wai for local Hong Kong cuisine, especially ying yang tea. Happy adventures
- So Ling (6/5): - Very convenient, the staffs are helpful. The cleanliness needs to be improved.
- So Ling (8/5): - The cleanliness needs to be improved. The manager is very helpful .
I love the location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Decent stay, but bathroom was very dirty. - The hotel was convenient to the MTR station, just a few minutes walk via the bridge into a mall. Staff was nice and helpful, however the free amenities were pretty limited in what they offered. My biggest complaint is the bathroom and sink - the shower would clog every time and the water would rise to ankle level with dirty pieces in the water. We had to have maintenance come in and clear the pipes. The sink would also make really loud noises when draining the water every time we used it. If you’re looking to stay here for a vacation, I would recommend a different hotel closer to the island, though this would be more affordable.
- King Yin (8/5): - Good facilities, convenient location, quiet, good value for money
- Joanne (10/5): - Convenient location to shops and MTR. 24 hours reception makes late check-in easy. Facilities are clean and well maintained.
- YEW FAI (8/5): - Decent place to stay. Rooms are well maintained although could be a bit worn. Navigating around the place could take some getting used too.
- Atho (10/5): - Meets all the basic needs.
Good value for the price!
- KARLA (8/5): - This hotel is great for the price, considering how expensive HK is, this place is a great alternative…
On the other hand is a very quiet place which makes it great for resting after a long day of walking around. Very close of subway station. Clean place, towels and a spacious room.
The breakfast is very poor, just bread (no butter, no jam) and one fruit but you can have a tea or coffee and maybe buy something outside…
If you come ir leave to HK after midnight I wouldn’t recommend this place because is very far and your taxi or uber will cost a lot of money…
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent
- Lai (6/5): - The bathroom is not good. No space for putting/changing clothes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Family travel, would visit again.
- Esther (10/5): - A very convenient location with all the amenities I need. The staffs are friendly and helpful.
- Esther (8/5): - Clean and spacious at a great price. Staff is available at all times, including 24-hr check-in, which is especially convenient for overseas travelers. Room includes AC, heater, dehumidifier, mini-fridge, and a hairdryer. Amenities such as a laundry room, a small kitchen area with a microwave, and a gym are a plus. Definitely will come again in the future.
- Katin (10/5): - This is my second stay in this hotel(hostel style). It situates just next to Chaiwan subway station of HK Island Line. Really convenient for different purposes , shopping, dining and visit to different attractions in HK. Staffs are helpful, friendly and courteous. Cosy atmosphere and home stay feeling.
- Lei (10/5): - Very pleasant property at a very convenient location. It's very quiet despite being in an intersection.
- Joanna Wai Yin (8/5): - It is located in Chai Wan, a bit far from urban areas and tourist attractions. Not much interesting dining around. It is in noisy area. But considering the room rate and comparing to other hotels in similar conditions. It may worth to consider to stay. Do not expect too much as the hotel is a bit dated.
- Joanna Wai Yin (8/5): - It is located near MTR station. But after hours access is difficult. It is very noisy in the morning due to cleaning and at night due to residents movement.
There is dining nearby but not very interesting.
- Crini (8/5): - This property location is linked to MTR station which is very convenient to go anywhere in HK. The room size is quite spacious and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this property if you don’t mind to do some travels to the central areas.
- Sally Yew Hung (8/5): - I need to check out very early in the morning on the 28/11/24 at 5:05am. I understand it's a bit irregular time than normal. Due to l have to arrive airport by 7am. Me and my husband try to get help. It took us 20 minutes to have a lady to check us out. Thank you so much for makjng us very stressful before we catch A12 to the airport. Otherwise everything is satisfied.
- Erica (8/5): - A little far away from the center of the city but is close to MRT It provided the basic service. Only have shower and no tub if that is important to someone.
- cheuk kin (6/5): - Go for the discount price.
- Gloria (8/5): - It is a best value hotel with reasonable price. But it’s a bit far.
- Ping Chiu (8/5): - near train station
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy access to metro. Consider spacious room. Good to have self serve laundry. Quiet place. Just unstable internet and uncomfortable mattress.
- Victor (8/5): - The staffs at the counter are so nice and helpful. The room is clean and tidy. Me and my husband so happy with the services.
- Bonnie (8/5): - Property is simple and a little rundown. Staff was very friendly and helpful though.
- Jiang Nan (10/5): - Clean and convenient.
- Edmund (10/5): - It's in a very convenient location and lots of local shops around. We'll definitely stay there again for our next trip in HK.
- Eddie (8/5): - Very good n budget stay. Will hv another stay whenever I m in Hong Kong
- Denise (4/5): - The hotel is just okay.
- Denise (4/5): - Ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing like the photos and certainly nothing like the reviews. Didn't even stay the first night, moved to another hotel within a couple of hours
- Marina (8/5): - Need some renovations specially for the washroom
- Terrence (8/5): - I like the location.
- Dora (10/5): - I don’t have any complain. The environment is so good. The staffs are so nice and polite. I’m really satisfy to stay in Y/Loft.
- Claudio (2/5): - It was like being in a communist era building. My room was cold and the balcony windows were not isolated... I've asked for a fan heater but they told me it wasn't availalble. I wanted to turn the AC heat on, but it was centrally controlled.,. in the morning breakfast was 1 bag of tea and some disgusting bread types in a plastic bag!
- Miranda Yin Ling (8/5): - Quiet and convenient transportation
- Paul (10/5): - The room is pretty clean. Staff are friendly. Close to MTR.
- Heather (10/5): - It was so easy to get to y-loft via the A12 bus from the airport! We had a pleasant short stay and really enjoyed how close it was to the chai wan station.
- lawrence (8/5): - Good value for the money
- Ming Yan Freda (10/5): Good place ! - Nice staffs, quiet environment. Good security.
I'm fine with bringing my own shampoo & toothbrush stuffs... given the room price is cheaper than normal hotel.
Only bad drainage in bathroom, hoope it can be solved.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Noisy after 11:00pm - The worst part of the hotel is that Mainland Chinese guests did not observe night time quietness rules. They talked and laughed in a group of few people loudly in the public area after 11:00pm and even up to 1:30am. Sometimes they were loud inside their rooms. It happened often although it did not happen every night. I couldn't just complain to the hotel office that often because they are different groups checking in and checking out on different dates. It affects the quality of sleep. I suggest the reception to tell each check-in guest that they need to observe night quiet time rule.
My room does not have heating system although you can set it to heat. There were a few days that the weather was very cold and so was the room. The house keeping people turned my air-conditioning to very cold every time they came to clean my room. I had to adjust it every time I went into my room.
The good thing of this hotel is that it is very close to MTR station (2 minute walk) and buses just stop at Youth Square. It is at the eastern end of Hong Kong Island. It is a long way when going to the New Territories. Grocery shops are also nearby.
There may be chips or scratches on furniture and walls, but it is acceptable if you consider it a 2 star hotel.
- Michele (8/5): - Overall I am satisfied with the stay (the bed is very close to my own bed at home which was very nice). The room was very spacious and comfortable.
However the drainage system appears to be an issue and perhaps pay closer attention to the cleanliness (found some fine hair on the bed).
- Yu Hong Marco (6/5): - Bathroom shower was clogged, told them the problem, someone came to fix it in 10 mins, superb response speed, appreciate the service but did not solve the problem.
Close to MTR station, staffs are helpful, good wifi
Overall happy with the stay for the price I paid; however if you can afford HKD $300-$500 more a night, you can easily get something much better
- Priscilla (8/5): - Very convenient location close to the subway station. Staff did a great job in maintaining the room clean
- Tak (8/5): Dont expect too much - Good value, convenient location. Facilities are basic and show signs of aging.
- Joseph (8/5): - Nice and clean.
Very convenient location.
- Chi Kan Kandy (8/5): - Locate on top of the metro station...really easy for travelling. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Built facilities was good. Drainage system is not working good and no hooks on any walls to hang anything??
- KAI-LEUNG (8/5): - Near a mall and transit. One bus (A12) to airport. Very convenient!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Water drainage problem - The drainage shower area cannot drain fast enough causing a pool of soaped water to be drained few minutes later. Which is disgusting. This also cause rare sound coming out from the drain fow few minutes.
There is not any hook in both the shower and toilet area that you cannot even hang a towel.
Overall, the place is clean and spacious for HK standard with the price and convenience of public transport.
- Soon (10/5): - It bang for the buck and close to subway
- Sally (6/5): - Like: closeness to MTR, Quiet airport bus is just around the corner.
Dislike: Too far to CBD, coffee/teas only available when common area are open for breakfast. Laundry costs expensive paying $60 to wash and $60 to dry. For my 14 days stay Laundry costs alone cost me $480.00 Room too small and needs updating. For the amount of money I've spent for the 14 Days stay, paying an extra $150 a night I would be able to book a place closer to CBD and where the amenities are much better.
- Henry Ka Ki (8/5): - Good sized room, excellent staff, clean and convenient. Free breakfast and coffee. Good value for the money.
The room is a bit rundown with paint peeling off
- Grace (8/5): - I will recommend this to my friends and family,
- Pui Lin (10/5): - Good to have a dehumidifier inside the room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great budget hotel - Great hotel for the price. Only issues were that I had requested a late check-in which was accepted promptly but due to the time I arrived the entire complex was shut down other than the entrance door which is locked with the room keycard. I had to tail somebody in to get to the reception, but once I was there it was all good. The only other minor thing is that the power outlets are all located in very inconvenient places.
- Johny (8/5): - Good basic amenities. A spoon in the room would help to stir your coffee. There are cups and a kettle.
- Anita (10/5): - Close to malls, MTR and bus stop.
- david (10/5): - quiet and good transportation. hotel has a lot of spare space to relax.
- Yin Mui (8/5): - Feel relaxed with quiet balcony
- Jenny (10/5): - Convenient : to have food, transport, supermarket. The room is spacious, soundproofing
- CARMEN MIU-LING (6/5): - The facilities in this property are not that good. The pictures show much nicer. It is okay with this price. It is clean overall. The only complaint is the toilet. The waste stay in toilet bowl even I don’t use it, I guess it is from the other room. There is a pumping issue. Staff are nice, helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and spacious room. I like the view in the balcony. Conveniently located next to a shopping mall and a MTR station.
- Carolina (8/5): - A good value for money hostel style place which is conveniently located.
- Carolina (4/5): - I hung the Do not disturb sign at the door but the housekeeping staff just ignored it and knocked on the door asking to come into the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They gave us a room for the disabled with a small working table. We requested to change room but they said it is not possible. Quite disappointed with their inability to meet customer needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money - Staff friendly and helpful. Great location.
- Athena (8/5): - The heating system is not working.
- MT (8/5): - The room is quite good enough for one night, but the facility of lift was too complicated!
