Zunächst waren wir enttäuscht, dass es kein Frühstück mehr gibt, aber im Erdgeschoss gibt es einen tollen Bäcker und somit alles perfekt!

• Eszter (8/5): - Very friendly owner. Extremely high level of cleanliness, especially in the bathroom! The location was good for where I had to be. I am sensitive to noise and I found the street side room to be too noisy even with earplugs. Not an issue but a suggestion: I would have loved to have a kettle in the room.
• Duarte (9/5): Ich würde es nochmal buchen. - Sehr positiv überrascht! Grosses Zimmer und sehr sauber. Man hörte etwas zuviel von Nachbarsbett. Mir fehlt Wasserkocher für Tee. Aber es ist nur meine einzige Meinung und Notwendigkeit.

• Janet (8/5): Klein traditioneel en zeer schoon hotel vlakbij Scheveningen; met aandacht verzorgd verblijf. - Klein hotel dat - ter verademing - eens geen onderdeel uitmaakt van een van de grote ketens. Ontzettend vriendelijke eigenaar die meedenkt met parkeren en er duidelijk plezier aan beleeft gasten te ontvangen. Charmant statig oud pand met bijbehorende kenmerken. Traditioneel ingericht en gebrek aan moderne methodes van beheersen van een aangenaam binnenklimaat, maar alles is werkelijk brandschoon. Ruime kamer, goed verzorgd en aangenaam bed. Het ontbijt wordt met zichtbaar veel aandacht verzorgd en gepresenteerd. Helaas ontkom je er niet aan dat voorkeuren in dieetwensen altijd persoonlijk zijn, en nooit op één wijze voor een ieder in die voorkeuren kan worden voorzien. In ons geval viel het broodontbijt met kaas en vlees daardoor niet in de smaak, omdat wij graag plantaardig eten en 's ochtends de voorkeur geven aan yoghurt met havermout en additieven. Een oplossing zou kunnen zijn de ontbijtwensen de dag tevoren uit te vragen, opdat gericht op de voorkeuren kan worden ingespeeld en voedselverspilling wordt voorkomen.

Auch die Lage zum World Forum Center ist ideal - Das Frühstück war sehr gut, abwechslungsreich einfach mega gut und wird persönlich von Ed serviert. Ed ist ein sehr bemühter, freundlicher u angenehmer Gastgeber und hilft immer gerne weiter, egal was man braucht . Infos zu Weg, Bus oder Restauranttipps. Vielen Dank ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.

• Anton (10/5): Perfect place to stay! - I had a really nice stay here! The room was spacious and spotless, and it was quiet at night since my window faced the garden. Even though the breakfast setup is just a temporary arrangement, I actually loved having it at the nearby café. The food was great, and they make a perfect black coffee! There’s a bus and a tram stop right in front of the hotel, and it only takes 20 min to get to the city centre.
• Justyna (10/5): Comfortable Stay in a Convenient Location - The location of the hotel was very convenient just a 5-minute walk from the World Forum, where my conference took place. It’s also within walking distance of the fishing port, which has plenty of small restaurants, as well as the beach. The hotel is situated right opposite the tram station and close to shops and restaurants, yet the area is very quiet. My room overlooked the back garden (patio) and was exceptionally peaceful. The walls are thick, so you can’t hear your neighbours, and the ceilings are very high. The room was spotless, warm, and had a splendid bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast, served in the café next door, was delightful both the food and the atmosphere. The owner of the hotel is a charming and very helpful gentleman. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to relax and slow down. The room was comfortable, though it would have been nice to have an electric kettle with tea and coffee available.
• Ralf (10/5): Nettes älteres kleines Hotel mit einem tollen Service - Sehr netter und freundlicher Inhaber. Wir wurden sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen. Die Zimmer schon älter aber sehr sauber und mit Liebe eingerichtet! Das Frühstück mussten wir aufgrund von Krankheit des Chefs in der Bäckerei stattfinden was aber auch sehr lecker war! An dieser Stelle wünschen wir dem Inhaber von ganzem Herzen gute Besserung und das er bald wieder fit ist um mit seinen Gästen frühstücken zu können! Er ist ein Hotelier mit sehr großer Leidenschaft! Wir sehen uns garantiert wieder!!😊😊😊 Die Parkgebühren, wobei der Eigentümer darauf keinen Einfluss hat da es der Stadt gehört. Mehr deutsche TV Sender wären schön! Waren leider nur 4 Programme

• Ines (10/5): Cozy stay at Excelsior. - Such a cozy and splendid little homey hotel. The host is amazing. Hw is so kind and caring. I felt like at home. Room is cozy small but well planned through. Bathroom is comfy and spotless every day. Place is great as it has tram and bus stop right outside the door, little cute and tasty bakery just downstairs around the corner and little shops at your liking. Beach is a walking distance. There ia nothing I didn't like.
• Stefan Jetschny (9/5): Short trip to The Hague (World Forum) - Amazing that places like that still exists: a privately owned and operated hotel! You noticed how you are greeted, been taken care of and talked to! What a wonderful experience. The hotel and the rooms don't boost with modern equipment and shiny details but charm and a bit of history! Distance to the World Forum was good, to public transport even better, a very nice neighborhood and excellent breakfast (even though in the cafe next door, usually in the house). I gladly come back another time! Not much really! The wooden floor aches a bit when walking over, size of the room and facilities are very efficient and pragmatic. Nothing to complain about when you mostly use it for sleeping. For a touristic trip, I would choose a hotel closer to the city.

• evelyn (9/5): - Het was ontzettend schoon en een hele vriendelijke gastheer. We voelden ons erg welkom. Je merkt aan alles dat de gastheer plezier heeft in het runnen van het hotel en het de gasten naar de zin wilt maken. Niets.

Smaakvol ingerichte kamer met een apart zitje en een buro met stoel. Alles was superschoon. Goed bed. Prima sanitair. Rustige mooie buurt met voldoende winkels in de buurt. Strand Scheveningen, Madurodam, Kunstmuseum, Omniversum in directe omgeving. Tramhalte richting centrum voor de deur. Kortom het was een perfect verblijf. Niets

• Alexandra (9/5): Een goed verzorgd en mooi hotel - Het is klein hotel in een statig pand, met een vrolijke eigenaar. Wij hadden een kamer aan de achterkant, daar was het stil ‘s nachts. Mijn vrienden sliepen aan de straatkant, zij konden niet met het raam open slapen. De trap kraakt en het is gehorig maar het is een charmant pand op een goede locatie. Goede grote bedden, mooie (bad)kamers, een goed verzorgd ontbijt. Voor mijn vriendin werd glutenvrij brood gekocht. Dit hotel is een aanrader!

Wir, zwei Freundinnen, haben uns gut aufgehoben gefühlt, unser großzügiges Zimmer war nach hinten heraus. Die Haltestelle der Tram war vorm Haus. Es gab nichts zu mäkeln!
• Alexandra Vasilache (10/5): Very hospitable - Amazing service and hospitality. I have arrived a bit earlier than the check-in time and my room was ready so I was kindly given the keys. The room was spotless. I had fresh strawberries for breakfast (amongst others), it had a great variety of foods, it was more than enough. I will stay here again when travelling to the Hague.

• Novak (9/5): Really nice and pleasant staying. - Pretty much everything. Staff is really polite and helpful. Atmosphere is pleasant and cousy. Rooms, corridor and breakfast lounge are perfectly clean and well maintained. Breakfast was great. I just wish I could make coffee/tea in my room. Some electric cattle and a few coffee/tea, sugar and powder milk bags would really come in handy for me. That's pretty much my only objection on the staying everything else was really good.

Everything was clean, there was an iron and board, fan, and good water pressure. The best part was the hospitality though. The owner takes care of you and is lovely. Wonderful breakfast as well.

• Brian (10/5): Excellent small hotel located in one of the best areas in Schevenigen. - My room was probably one of the smallest available but as I was traveling alone it really didn’t bother me. The real bonus however was that I had a delightful little balcony, I think the only room with one. The breakfast was brilliant but far too much food for me to eat! I very much enjoyed my four night stay in the Excelsior and Ed the proprietor was very friendly and caring. I have no complaints about the hotel but the on street parking charges are expensive.
• Sandra (8/5): Comfortable and friendly - Very nice room, excellent welcome, simple to find, thanks to good instructions from the hotel (on my asking) I was distressed to find that the hotel would be closed from 18.00 hrs on the day of my arrival the day before I arrived. I had specially booked somewhere that closed at 21.00 because I had a tight arrival time. I believe it may have been an emergency, but they told me it said this on the Booking.com website but I couldn't find it. I did make it on time (thanks to very good directions, thank you) but it added stress to my journey. Also it could be clearer that if you pay by credit card they add an extra 5% to the bill. Maybe it says that on the site but again, I couldn't find it. Apart from that I found everything excellent, and the welcome was very friendly.

• Emily (9/5): Super breakfast in cozy, small hotel - The hotel was very cozy, quiet and clean. The breakfast was out-standing. The locked front door added an extra sense of security. The front desk was not open all the time and this could have been a problem for my arrival.

• Raquel (10/5): A wonderful weekend - The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. The hotel is well comunicated near the beach and with options of public transpor to go to the city center. The hotel hasn't elevador and the stairs are step. Not for people with disabilities

• Viktor (1/5): Really bad experience. - The breakfast was okay. The personnel were kind of friendly. The hotel I booked (Excelsior) let me know that it's fully booked and I need to go to a different hotel across the road which the owner's relative manages (Staten Hotel). The room at this hotel was really bad: old building, poor room conditions, the bathroom is very small (I wouldn't actually call it a bathroom), corrosion everywhere, hair in the bathroom. There wasn't even a duvet cover in the room. Finally, when I was checking out, the lady at the reception said that I owed 10 euros more and I reminded her of the price. Don't recommend either Excelsior for their attitude towards guests who book in advance nor Staten Hotel as the conditions are extremely poor.

• Charuphon (9/5): A very lovely place, will visit again. - Super friendly service. Room was really lovely. Also great breakfast. The seagulls were a bit annoying, they are quite active even in the night. So because the building was quite old (probably built in the 19th century) the windows are single glazed and the wall are thin. If you're noise sensitive I recommend to bring some earplugs.

Reception most of the time was closed only time to talk to staff was in the morning during bfast. A kettle in the room would have been great.
