- F5983ODbenjaminr (2/5): False information, dirty room - We were booked next door at the best western pecos inn and their pool and hot tub were out of order. So we called next door to the la quinta inn of Artesia and asked if they had pool and hot tub open. Their response was yes they were operational and open 7-10. So we paid more than 70 dollars more for two nights than the best western. Come to find out both pool and hot tub were out of order. When called out on their response they denied that we had called and asked that specific question and offered nothing for paying full price for room with no amenities. Also brown stain on bed sheets and hair on wall of the shower.
- ARIANA (10/5): 10/10! - Nice and great breakfast! The girl who checked us in, I wish I got her name, she was so sweet!!
- Jose (9/5): Good bang for the buck - Clean and well organized Back side, empty lot with access.
- Janie S. (6/5): It was ok - It was ok, didn't spend a lot of time there. Only checked in and went on to our events Bathroom in the room had an odor in it. Had to leave the door open to air out.
- LaVern (8/5): Overall it was a great. - It was nice and clean. Presentable Our room was made for a tall person. I’m 5’2” practically needed a step stool to get on the bed and for the sink to brush teeth/hands.
For breakfast everything was good but I find it hard to believe that the breakfast bar ran out of milk or the attendant just didn’t want to refill. I work in hospitality and have done all fields including breakfast. Ate out oatmeal with no milk.

- Rhonda (8/5): Very good stay, I will be staying there again when I travel next to Artesia NM. - The staff were friendly and professional. There was nothing in particular that I didn't like.

- Valenzuela (2/5): Not staying here again. - Nothing Door did not lock or worked. Bathroom was a mess.
- the0penr0ad (2/5): The day manager women is awful - My wife picked this place to stay at as she has some business in town and she is a regional manager and travels a good bit. came in at night. Everything was fine. Had a nice breakfast and then asked for an extra pillow in the Lady gave us a really bad attitude about it like she had to go out of her way to get the pillow like it was a giant inconvenience, but had the pillow sent to our room I left for lunch and when I came back,
The manager accused me of smoking in the room, and I don’t even smoke, and then when I told my travel agent that I would like a different hotel when he called apparently from what he told me, she chewed him out and did nothing but yelled at him and screamed at him I don’t know what kind of professionalism is ran at this hotel. This Lady needs to be terminated You don’t talk to customers that way
- Q7259AQkarens (10/5): Absolutely the best La Quinta we’ve ever stayed at - When we arrived, we were guests for the Roswell air races. We do a lot of traveling and we were very impressed with how wonderful Armando was checking us in and the manager. Pam was taking care of us during our seven days day. The hotel is extremely clean and has a wonderful housekeeping staff! They really made great efforts to make us feel at home. The breakfast was wonderful and what a beautiful lobby and breakfast area. We travel a lot And we are so thrilled with how well we were taking care of, we are booking our stay for next year at this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. We are very thankful for the care that they gave us and how warm and friendly everyone was for us. Warmest, thank you to the entire staff.
- Maria (10/5): - Excellent place to stay and relax. I really recommend it, safe, clean, excellent service.
- George (2/5): - Expedia search for motels in Carlsbad earlier today listed this site first. I did not know it was 45 minutes out of the way. Called the property and was told I needed to cancel with 24 hours. I had booking insurance which was useless. Am deleting my Expedia app.
- Judy (10/5): - The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable m
- Gilead (10/5): - Breakfast was great. the room is clean. when asked for addition blanket, it was given to me immediately and politely
- Misty (8/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): - Best LaQuinta I have ever stayed at.
- John (10/5): Good Place to stay in Artesia - Nice hotel in Artesia. A little bit of a glitch, we had reserved a handicapped accessible room with two beds (I was traveling with my 95 year old mother) and a roll in shower, but someone else had checked into that room several days earlier and never checked out. Guess they were hurting. They then asked if we'd take a handicapped accessible room with a tub, which we did as we were only staying one night. Decent continental breakfast in the a.m. Quiet. Nice hosts at check in.
- Hector (2/5): - Made a mistake wanted to reserve in Carlsbad and they would not help transfer from Artesia to Carlsbad. Lost my $133 and had to spend another $120 for another hotel.
- Brenda (8/5): -
- D2845UBlisav (10/5): Safe, clean and comfortable - I made a quick trip to Artesia and the hotel was very accommodating, clean and in a convenient area. My stay was short, but very comfortable. I felt safe.
- Co (6/5): - Clean and comfortable room.
- Kimberly (9/5): - Very clean facility. Very comfortable. Justa very relaxing stay.
- Tania (8/5): - Property was nice and clean. Breakfast wasn’t very good. The omelettes were rubbery.
- SHELLEY (10/5): - Very nice lobby. Rooms were nice and beds were comfortable
- christypV6399YR (8/5): Clean and quiet - Clean and quiet place to stay. Nice pool, hottub had no heat. Decent breakfast. Stayed for 5 nights while I worked a booth
- Yvonne (10/5): - The room was comfortable and clean.
- Marian (7/5): It was comfortable - Was comfortable Spa wasn’t working
- 806dustyb (10/5): - Paul B. checked us in and when asked, offered an excellent suggestion for a nearby restuarant! The rooms were a little small compared to other hotels in which we stayed, but not a problem. Room was restful, quiet, and very clean. My wife asked for an extra blanket which was quickly brought to the room. Breakfast was standard fare, but warm and welcomed.
- Michelle (5/5): -
- Austin (10/5): - They were available last minute and very friendly.
- Chris (10/5): - Area nearby appeared rough.
- Michelle (8/5): - Ac was great. Smells old but nice foe the location
- Danelle (6/5): - Sheetrock around shower had previous water damaged and shabby patch work. That along with the toilet plumbing was rusted. Together, the bathroom felt dirty. Bed was springing, but not totally uncomfortable. Room felt clean.
Good location. Friendly staff.
- Eric (10/5): - The hotel was very nice, loved the amenities it had (i.e. Pool, Gym, complimentary breakfast) The room I stayed in was very exquisite, spacious, and clean. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was perfect for my girlfriend and I. Will definitely stay here again
- Johanna (10/5): - Great place
- Rebecca (2/5): - Very unprofessional and bad service
- Michael (10/5): - Clean and Comfy.
- Lewis (5/5): Passable - The water pressure in the shower was terrible. It barely gave out any water. The room smelled very musty. Even after spraying air freshener, it never changed.
- Brandy (10/5): - Loved it. Would go again
- James (8/5): - Fairly new and well maintained facility. Quiet and good location.
- U3429UWjessiep (10/5): Peaceful stay - Very peaceful the inside pool was a plus and the breakfast was just as good I will highly recommend the staff was very attentive.
- eugenia (10/5): - My husband and I stayed four nights. I asked the attendant if we could have clean towels on 3rd day. Housekeeping replenished the towels, coffee, and took out the trash later that day. When we left the hotel check out was quick.
- Eugene (6/5): Pleasant - Location was right on our route. It was convenient to restaurants I booked 2 rooms and one room the AC only worked sporadically. The receptionist in the morning was aloof about my complaint and was interested in watching tik toks at full volume.
- Kelly (8/5): - Nice room and good service. Quiet and good breakfast. Only negative was wall next to shower was damaged and smelled weird in there. Dog fee was 25 per stay but they said at checkout that it was per dog.
- Kensley (6/5): - The hotel was okay. There was a weird smell once in the room. Check in was okay, the guy was very unfriendly and rude. Check out was okay we just used the automatic check out. I was very surprised to have the front desk come to my room at 10:45 in the morning to tell me it was time to check out and was very rude about it. My husband said we are almost done packing up and the man’s response was well check out is at 11. Overall stay was okay, but don’t think I’ll be back due to staff.
- Johana (4/5): Disappointing - It was in a good location and price is fair Bathrooms were soiled, we had to move to 3 different rooms
- Penny (9/5): Superb - The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast closes early on Sunday. Missed the food
- Armando (10/5): - All good
- Timothy (4/5): - The pool was really gross amd smellwd like fish. They advertise pool towels but had none. The spa did not have heat but that was not advertised upon booking. The staff member was very rude. They informed me id be charged a 25 dollar hold for incidentalz, which is fine, but then it showed an exrra 71.86 dollsr charge. I asked about it, he was very rude and dizmissive and said he doesnt know what that is and if i have a problem with it to take it up with management. They still never could confirm what the extra charge was.
- Mario (8/5): - Excellent customer service
- Kevin (10/5): - It was great!
- Doug (10/5): - Always a nice place to stay.
- Allen (10/5): - The motel and staff are great. However the color and designs do a great disservice to the beautiful state of New Mexico. I feel many motel to reflect local culture. This is one of the absolute ugliest colors of any “newer” motel I can recall staying in. Drove me crazy. Ugly rugs and an ugly mustardy accent color on some walls.
- Fernandez (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff and very clean and great food.
- John (10/5): - The property was amazing, and the staff were outstanding. I recently stayed at the La Quinta in Albuquerque, and let me tell you that La Quinta was disgusting. The one here in Artesia was opposite and has such an amazing staff.
- Morgan (8/5): - I’ve breakfast friendly staff
- Joseph (8/5): - Nice hotel with convenient location. We stayed twice. Unfortunately, the second time the room only had a refrigerator without a freezer. Hotels should know that people travel with freezer packs keep medications and food and drinks cold. Also, the hotel is pet friendly, but there is no pet area outside. I suggest an area with artificial grass be created.
- Joseph (8/5): - Hotel was nice & we stayed twice. Unfortunately, the second time we got a room with only a refrigerator. People travel with ice packs to keep their beverages and food cold and hotels don't accommodate that.
Also, being "pet friendly" I would suggest they have an artificial grass area for pets outside.
- Daniela (2/5): - Awful place, had to wait over an hour to get my room, which was dirty, there was hair all over the place, when I had to checkout the girl in the front desk was very rude, and told me they were super busy that’s why I had to wait that long to get my room.
- Gerber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): - I think every room with a shower and toilet shoukd have a $50 exhaust fan in the ceiling.. when you dont the results are embarresing and humilating.
- Jim (6/5): - Nothing unique about hotel. Could use some tlc in housekeeping
- Penny (8/5): Very good - I slept well! Quiet, clean and great staff.
- Zacc (8/5): Very good -
- Ambertara (8/5): Decent - Ok for the area.
- Melissa (9/5): Nice comfortable and clean rooms - Big rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast. Friendly front desk lady. Bathroom needs to be updated. Shower leaked, looked old, toilet was very low.
- Diedrich (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable beds
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The front desk person Armando we checked in was courteous and professional.
Unlike the person who was at the desk during checkout. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He is the reason we will never come back to this establishment.
- gordon (10/5): - The breakfast included with stay was good with a bit of variety. Staff was great. Rooms clean. Outdoor grilling area. Pool.
- Gina (10/5): - Nice clean safe area. All staff were kind
- Agustin (10/5): - Quiet easily accessible
- Hisham (10/5): - Good hotel around the area. We stayed a night here on our way to White Sands National Park, NM from Houston, TX. This hotel is about 2 hrs away from the White Sands National park
- Jim (10/5): - Location, clean, quiet, polite staff
- Kody (4/5): - Room had a sulfur smell. We are thinking it was plumbing? The pool was out of service.
- Angie (6/5): Disposable customer service! - I give this stay 1 star due to customer service. We booked for the hot tub and when we checked in the hot tub was freezing cold. We notified staff and they said we could check out for a full refund. We decided we would stay one night as we had driven 8 hours to get there and they told us that was fine and we could check out the next day with only one night charged. They ended up charging for two nights. We called to discuss with the manager. He stated, after going back and forth with him and being told he would return our calls and never did, that he would in fact issue a refund for the amount overcharged. We waited 10 days for the refund and it never appeared. I tried 3 different times to contact the manager again regarding this, however, each time was told he was not available to the phone. I finally called my credit card company to dispute the charges. I would never stay at this location again. They have horrible customer service.
- Ramon (10/5): - Clean..

- Pete (8/5): - ok
