Guest Reviews
- Walter (6/5): - Basic
No reception. Room entry by sms and code given for door lock.
Pillows looked and smelt. Need replacing. Linen also needs replacing. All had a yellowish tinge. Towels also had a smell.
No wardrobe. Bathroom just a wash basin. Nowhere to put anything
Upside was its proximity to everything. Overall very disappointing.
- James (8/5): - Good overall. A bit light on with shelving, wardrobe/cupboard facilities
- Edith (2/5): - Poor customer service. Never got any text how get it. No room allocated. Eventually got a text. The room was dirty. Had to wait in the rain for more than an hour for the room to be cleaned. Definitely wouldn’t recommend Abajaz to anyone
- Graeme (8/5): Longreach Stopover - Bike Tour
- Greg (6/5): - In room - clean and comfortable. Outside - you would almost think the property abandoned. Pool area and courtyard substandard. No staff on premises. Reception office is a closed work in progress site with a mobile number taped to window for issues.
- Jaynet (8/5): - Pool was beautiful
Would have liked to seen the admin open. However the staff were prompt when we needed them on arrival
- Terry (4/5): - Dirty linen
- Morag (8/5): - It was nice to see the property has been re-painted and spruced up since our visit 14 months ago. Good value for the price we paid.
- Linda (10/5): - A convenient spot close to main precinct and museums. Lovely and clean and quiet.
- Mark (6/5): - Did not get check in pin until day before we left. Message also told us our cutlery etc was in the microwave which we did not find until then. Property is pretty run down but it was clean
- Susan (8/5): - Beds good very tired motel apparently about to get a renervation
- gladys (6/5): - Overpriced for the condition of the motel
- Beverly (2/5): - Reception permantly closed. Had sign with phone number but we had no phone signal. Another guest phoned for us… no answer. The other guest said to go to Albert Park Motot Inn to check in. No one at reception there. Found a cleaner in laundry who helped us.
Apparently access info was in text message, but when on the road in outback Queensland, no phone signal!
Also, bathroom needs work.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Disappointed that there was no reception at the motel and we had to drive to another one to get our access code. No wifi code issued. Motel was run down but in close proximity to centre of town
- Frank (6/5): - All very average
- Morag (6/5): - We booked a three star property and got what we expected for what we paid. It was quite handy walking distance to the railway station and to the shops as well as to visit the great tourist attractions including the Qantas Museum, Stagecoach ride and the Stockman's Hall of Fame. Altogether a great few days holiday!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible motel in Longreach - Don’t stay here. A dingy, dilapidated motel with no on site assistance. If you can’t find anywhere else to stay in Longreach, do yourself a favour and sleep in your car.
- Robert (2/5): - Liked nothing! Not enough time to list all - access, ,reception, staff, air conditioner!
- Karen (10/5): - Older style accommodation with a Keypad lock. All ground floor level. Clean & comfortable.
- Karen (6/5): - Staff were fantastic. Rooms & motel was very dated but bed was comfortable. Not bad value for money.
- Carol (4/5): - Good location close to town
- Hermann (2/5): - Code to enter room did not work, they don't answer phones after.hours. Spider webs in room, strange smell in room. Overpriced.
- Vaunesss (2/5): - Terrible. No hot water and cockroaches everywhere.
- Sheila (6/5): - There are no meals available at the motel no crockery or cutlery should you order a take away meal
- Susan (8/5): - Out side area needs cleaning.
- Kyle (6/5): - 3rd time here but will be last; room had a lot of bugs and bug/rodent poo throughout bathroom, shower still had used soap in the bottom, woke up with crickets crawling accross my face. Shame because previous experience was much better
- Graham (4/5): - Bed was very hard and springs were sticking into my back the mold in the bathroom would make you sick if you spent much time in there. Pity there's no where to upload photos or you could see the black mold. There was no way to contact management as there was none on site.value for money was very poor
- julie (2/5): - We had a disabled room I think as it had a ramp to the door. The room was set up for 3 people but only 1 chair. The bathroom had nowhere to put toiletries bags or bath towels.
It was until leaving we found where the cutlery and plates were… in the microwave.
There is no reception on sight so if there are issues no help because you only have a contact number that is not answered or an email which is not helpful if the issue needed to be addressed that day.
There are better places in town to stay.
- wendy m (4/5): - Shuttle pick up from the train was excellent Thankyou. Service was non existent after that. Phone number listed on piece of paper at unattended reception door was never answered. Ended up getting info from local taxi service- v helpful locals in Longreach!
Accomodation itself is old and tired and needs a major revamp. Location is fine for walking to local pubs for dinner.
- Maria (8/5): - Clean and tidy.
- Brad (4/5): Not a fan of the changes - I’m not sure what the go now, no servicing the hotel room, I’m ok with no reception but at least change the towels and replenish the coffee, biscuits, shampoo and soap. Considering the cost I would except servicing every day.
- Marilynn (8/5): - The bed was comfy and good wifi.
- Stephen (8/5): - It is a typical motel found in country Australia - comfortable but a little tired and worn down. Convenient to town and the museums.
- Deanna (8/5): - It was a little dated but was perfect for our stop over. The room was clean and tidy, surprisingly quiet being so close to the main road.
- Terry (2/5): Avoid - Do not stay here. Did not want to honour quote even though we had email proof.
Change of ownership IS NOT an excuse.
Run down and not even staffed. Had to drive elsewhere for any information.
Will never stay here again and will advise friends and acquaintances the same.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Generally run down and tired and not worth the $$ - Arrived to strong stench of insecticide that the room had obviously been drenched in. Wounded but still alive bugs were visible. Walls had been glued up liberally, only 1 bedside 'table' attached to wall with a clock sitting on it but nowhere to plug it in. Most couple travelling these days would both have phones and or headphones and or watches to recharge.
Gaps between ceiling and tops of walls. Toilet roll holder fell off wall numerous times (easy fix tho so I don't know why it hasn't been).
Bed very uncomfortable, mattress old and hard. Pillows old and soft.
No reception staff - you have to ring an offsite number if needed.
On the upside, there's a courtesy bus that will pick you up from train or airport then the driver does the work of the non existent reception and hands out keys for rooms.
Little fridge was excellent, kettle and microwave good additions. Water pressure (in discoloured old shower) was good and the aircon was welcomed and good.
- Philip (6/5): - .
- Paul (6/5): - Arrived and no one at office - had to get Gardner to ring up owner at another hotel to let us in and had no record of our booking - lucky we had printed our receipt- so he gave us a room - did not see anyone for 3 days - had to get our own clean towels from storeroom
- Peter (10/5): Neat and tidy. - A convenient overnight stop for us. The room was clean and tidy with all the basics you need for a short stay.
- Marilyn de (10/5): - We came in after 10PM and everything was ready and waiting for us as promised. Good service
- Addison (10/5): - I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you to the staff who provided a very clean and welcoming room
- Colleen (2/5): - Extremely disappointed 😞
In bad need of maintenance.
- Belinda (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff, clean large rooms, enjoyed our stay
- John (8/5): - Central location and it had a good little pool.
- robyn (8/5): - Awesome staff No issues and welcomed an early check in
Nothing was a problem and requests were promptly delivered

- Rachael (8/5): - Nice place, great location, no probs
- Graham (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Bruce (10/5): - This was our 2nd night in Longreach. Moved out of our previous accommodation because it was unsatisfactory. Highly recommend Abajaz.
- Vincent (10/5): - Very nice quiet motel could not find a better one just enjoyed my stay of 5 nights
- Vincent (10/5): - Quiet friendly motel
- Mary (6/5): - The parking was very difficult with awkward angles and we were unable to park near our room. The aircon unit was so noisy we were unable to use it. The lady who checked us in was lovely and helpful but room was tired. We were asked to walk our dishes, glasses and cutlery but the only place was the bathroom basin!
- Hamish (6/5): - An older property which is showing its age but very clean and tidy and within an easy walk to town centre.
- Deborah (10/5): - Comfortable beds
- Berkley (8/5): - Good stay, convienient location!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice to stay and comfy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely large room with a great bed. Amenities were great including a relatively cheap full laundry and pool. From the road it doesn't look much but inside it is great.
- GARY (8/5): Great home base. - Very helpful staff. Set up the BBQ when we wanted one. Nothing we wanted was too much trouble.
Room had lots of space for bags.
Easy walk into town for all the eateries.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was great

- Verified traveler (8/5): -

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were lovely. Not enough parking on premises but parked just out front.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great overnight stay on Longreach- reasonably priced
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very clean and staff was also cooperative
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Abajaz is a neat and affordable Hotel close to the centre of town, they don't have a restaurant but there are plenty of other options a short walk away.
- Glen (8/5): Very Comfortable Stay - The hosts were friendly and helpful on arrival about options around town. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. Bed was comfortable and shower good. Covered car parking in front of your room. Easy walk to the town centre and great pubs for great food. Also walkable to the Qantas Museum and Stockman's Hall of Fame. Quiet. For a country motel this is a very good option and great value
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Welcoming and helpful staff great location right on the highway.
- Mark (4/5): - nothing at all parking is a shambles first in best dressed
- Louise (8/5): - The room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom. The owners were friendly. I had an enjoyable stay there.
- Aaron (8/5): - In my opinion the most important aspects of any accommodation is that it is clean, has all the basics you need and that the staff are friendly and helpful. The Abajaz Motor Inn had all these and was situated close to town which was an added bonus.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Really enjoyed our stay
- David (8/5): - As soon as you arrive the owners make you feel welcome explain where to park as parking can be a little tight .The room was clean tidy and the bed was very comfy indeed, The motel is located in a great location where you can walk to all parts of Longreach even the Stockmans hall of fame. If im back this way needing a room for the night i sure will be giving them a call .
- stephen (8/5): Lovely Motel Owners - Comfortable accommodation with lovely owners who are doing it tough in the outback.
- William (8/5): First Time Visit - Comfortable family operated country style motel. Average size room with large bed, sofa, tv, bar fridge and microwave. Cool during the day and warm at night without AC/heater. Some outside guest noises at night but nothing to worry about. Free airport transfer, 15-20 minutes walk to Qantas Museum / Stockmens Hall of Fame. 5-10 minutes walk to Railway station and main street shopping, restaurants and bars.
- Daniel (10/5): Brilliant! - Absolutely loved Abajaz - this is not simply a hotel, but somewhere with a real soul. The owners are amongst the kindest people I interacted with and wealth of local knowledge for Longreach. Would highly recommend!!
- Darryl (8/5): - The room was close to local amenities and was clean.
- Stan (8/5): Nice in Longreach - Enjoyed pur 2 night stay here in Longreach. A reasonable sized room and bathroom. A 2 seater couch, comfortable bed and everything we expect in a motel room. Lovely and clean. Friendly service from owners and staff. Conveniently situated, walking distance to town. Great walking pathways as far as Qantas Founders Museum and Stockmans Hall of Fame, or a short drive.
- Max (8/5): - the property is well located and well cared for
The room was clean but dark which would be a major benefit in Summer but not in winter..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was the third property we had stayed in for our trip, but it was the first with a hairdryer. Small things make a good stay. We had a back door for ease of taking our dog for walks. Ability to leave our dog in the room while we explored the area. Hosts were very accommodating, beds were comfy, room was a good size, and thankfully aircon worked well (was 47 one day). Would stay again.
- Johnston (10/5): - Comfortable and convenient for ones with disabilities because it is all on the ground level.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff and quite rooms. Great location easy to find
