Claire (4/5): - Room smelled of wet dog and worse when we arrived. Window had been left open to air out prior to our arrival. Staff quickly and kindly switched us to another room, but sent cleaning staff to spray it profusely as we walked in. Minor wear and tear that could been easily repaired and wasn't, giving a careworn appearance. I stepped out of the shower to grab soap, and after stepping on the carpet with damp feet,I left BLACK footprints on the white bathmatt. Beds clean and comfortable. But I understood we were staying in a cabin, but it was just a hotel room. It was none refundable, orherwise we probably would have left, as I am allergic to dogs and try not to stay at pet friendly facilities.

Robert (4/5): Deceiving - I feel very disappointed by my experience with this choice of hotels. The website shows beautiful looking fully equipped cabins!! NOT WHAT WE GOT!!! Old Outdated! No microwave in room. Broken coffee maker. One old beaten up bedside lamp. The ceiling lamp was filthy. The outlets in the room ( two in room/one in bathroom ) were so stripped out my husband had to prop his boot to the cord to charge his phone. When I inquired about the new cabins onsite. I was told I could have one for an additional $200.00 a night! We were not happy with this location and will never stay there again!

Cob webs everywhere ,,not so very welcoming. Next day we asked fir roon service, went to the island just to get back in an untouched room,, nothing is cleaned out nor replenished( cups, soaps and etc)

Taj (2/5): - Be aware that the “cabins of Mackinaw” are not all Cabins! You may end up overpaying for a tiny hotel/motel room that is hidden behind the (admittedly nice looking) Cabins in the front of the property. I even double checked the photos shown on Expedia and the only pic representative of our booked room was labeled as a “bedroom” which would otherwise come across like it’s part of one of the cabins - in the room, all of the 3 pieces of furniture were either damaged or non functioning, the nightstand for example must have been broken and was resting on the floor with the French cleat it used to be left on still bolted to the wall, then of course there were the lamps that didn’t work and the overall dirty condition of the room! The skirt of the bed wasn’t even pulled down over the ancient mattress, having worked in a hotel for 2 years I can understand some mistakes and general laziness but this is easily the worst room I’ve ever stayed in despite being in a price point of some very nice rooms that I have experienced. Do not stay here

F3876AXsharonw (2/5): Awful place and management - Dirty rooms. Had to leave one day early because of illness and management would not refund because of 24 hour cancellation policy. Customer service was horrible from supposed manager to supposed customer service number. Offered a complimentary one night stay coupon, never received from the customer service department.

Connie (6/5): Outdated - The hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel was outdated and a little ran down. The water park was a nice addition, but the water was cloudy and the abundance of chemicals burned our eyes. We stayed in the hotel section, so maybe the cabins were better.

There really needs to be a shelf in the shower to hold the soap and shampoo. At checkin the employee was very helpful with info on the area.
Vicky (4/5): Bathroom needs work - Great area for shopping & dining! Priced well. The room (we weren't in the cabins) seemed very clean - not so much as a dust bunny anywhere! The bathroom... definitely not up to par! There was a very strong urine smell & the vent/fan was broken. The room was cute as can be and really spacious. Beds were VERY comfortable! Adding a microwave would be nice. Our only complaint was the strong odor in the bathroom.

Don (6/5): - The web page is misleading, it shows the cabins but not the other rooms. We booked the room(cabin) as we thought this was all that was rented. Upon arrival we were told we did not reserve the cabin but a LODGE ROOM which was not outlined as there were no room selection phase of the reservation. For the cost spent for the room for two nights ( 442.00) we were put in a room "lodge" that looked like a cheap MOTEL 6 and had spider webs hanging from the walls and ceiling along with un swept floors with a great deal of built up dust throughout along with broken hand rails and moss growing the entire room walkways. If i wanted to stay at a motel 6, i would have done just that and saved a lot of money!.. very disappointed in my experiance and would NOT recommend.

The housekeeping department did not clean well, as if they didn't care. I was a housekeeping manager, and I would have never let that room get rented in the condition it was. Whoever checked after housekeeping should have corrected it before releasing it to the guest. I was disgusted.

We were issued room in a separate building with old dirty carpet, old worn out beds, no trash can in the bathroom, black mold growing on the door frame in the bathroom and the TV had to be hooked up when we got there! We paid over $200 per night and this room was not even worth $50! False advertising at it's best!

Mike (8/5): Cabin was breath taking - The honeymoon jacuzzi room was ok. There was room for more cleanliness and air that worked better. The raccoon that was in the ceiling was a little funny but kept us up all night. We moved to the actual cabin and were very happy and wish we had got that from the start. Very roomy and all around amazing. The staff was super friendly and willing to help you. They were super amazing and very happy. You don’t get that kind of kindness these days and it was nice. You can walk to almost everything as well as the beach across the street with fore pits and chairs is awesome! Will definitely return and get the cabin again

Alexander (4/5): - It looks like a great on the outside of our cabin, we had the premium cabin. However once We went inside ,we found , screens were broken or had holes, there was dead bugs and dirt filling the window sills. We opened up the pull out couch and there was crumbs everywhere and also the tv remote and some kids hot wheels car inside. The floors will leave your socks or feet black and the rug is dirty. On the room description it says “hydromassage “ shower head ,it was just a normal basic shower head with low water pressure . There was 2 lightbulbs burnt out , multiple outlets not working and the cords from the TVs and modem just hanging out exposed like a mess. One of the drawers had a previous occupants trash. Lastly in the room one of the the pillow cases I had , had a weird gross stain on it and the sheets just didn’t smell clean . Now outside the outdoor hot tub was filled with sand and the pools had tons of chlorine in them. On the plus side the people working at the front desk were friendly and helpful with what we needed. Most of these problems could be fixed with better cleaning and replacing old rugs and stained sheets/ pillow cases.
Michael A (8/5): The Flintstones Vibe - The room was cute but the bed was like a rock and we didn't get much sleep. When the heat/AC turned on, it shook the room and woke us up.
Monica (4/5): - This was a complete waste of money. The cabin was dirty, wet, and musty smelling. There's no space between cabins and things are in disrepair or non-functional. Staff was very unhelpful with questions regarding parking while we visited the island, so we just opted to park off site to play it safe. The "waterpark" is a very poorly kept up hotel pool area with a small water feature for children. It was dirty and cold. We felt completely scammed!

Verified traveler (4/5): Will not stay there again - First room was musty smelling. Carpet was detached from the corners and wallpaper was buckling on the wall. Upgraded for a fee to their chalet. The floor was uneven and also smelled musty. Noticed hair under the pillow on the bed. Disappointed in the up keep of the property.
Nancy (4/5): Don't stay here , better choices in the area. - There was 3 couple's and 3 rooms. 1st room had ants and had to change rooms. 2nd room had a floor that was about to fall in, slow draining sink, stained bed covering, overall dirty. 3nd room seemed to be ok. Pictures are not the room's we had. They are NOT all cute cabins. We stayed 3 days but should have moved to a different place. Lots of better choices. Very disappointed.

Verified traveler (6/5): So-so - We were a little shocked to find out we were not in an actual cabin, but more of a motel dressed up like a cabin. The check in man was less than friendly. However when we had to leave a day early due to an unexpected death in our family, the check out man was kind and did agree to refund one nights stay, because we were leaving. The room was dated and in need of minor repair (cracks in the walls in the bathroom) and the tub & surround was a dated blue color BUT it was clean. Except for my daughter’s bed sheets which had 2 old blood stains. Would we stay here again? Probably not. But it was ok for the one night we were there.
Todd (4/5): - I was not impressed with this property by any means. It looks like it hasn't been worked on in years. There was mold around the caulking in the shower. The bathroom fan did not work therefore causing the bathroom mirror to become extremely fogged up. The wi-fi at its best was 6 Mbps. Highly unacceptable when facility is using Spectrum internet as thier provider. If you don't care about Wi-Fi and you don't care about cleanliness then this is your place.
Stephanie (6/5): - Our room was one of the dirtiest rooms we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in many. No porch light. One roll of toilet paper for 6 people. Dirty wadded sheet left in the pull out bed. We won’t be staying here again.
June (8/5): - We liked the little cabins. It was cute. We were 1st put in the motel part on the 2nd floor but were able to relocate to a cabin. The 2nd bedroom was pretty cramped but it was great for our luggage. The lady at the front desk was very helpful & nice.

Laci (10/5): - The pictures of the room we were getting were mosleading as it puctured an actual cabin but we got an apartment type cabin room instead. The room was nice, clean, and in a convenient location easily accesable to the ferry and restaurants and shops. The bed was fairly comfortable as well, which was a nice suprise.
Wade (4/5): - The beds in the bedrooms were fine; although the light in one bedroom didn’t work and was almost hanging from the wall. The smoke detector in the other bedroom was disconnected. The pullout couch, where I slept, was very dirty, and the springs made it extremely hard to get comfortable. I cleaned the air conditioning unit- the whole place was dusty, cobwebby, and did not seem vacuumed. The floors in the bathroom were sticky. The dirt and cobwebs on the outside of the cabin were fine- I tent-camp and am not a complainer but, the dirt and cobwebs inside were not acceptable. We used the cabin only to sleep, so we worked around the inconveniences.
Pamela (4/5): - False advertising. The picture shows only the cabins. Behind the small row of cabins is a very old and unkept motel. That's where we were placed. Not updated. Old, old bathroom with old blue porcelain tub and low toilet. Tub didn't drain well. Shower curtain hanging in water. Black mold on shower head. Lightbulb by bed had no cover and bulb was out. AC unit acceptable but blew directly on your head at night. Carpet held smells. Outside mold on carpet. Windows sticking. No cross ventilation. Do yourself a favor and skip this facility!! Staff barely bothered to say hello and could care less. Nightmare. The only good thing was location near ferry service and downtown Mackinaw City. There are a hundred other places in area for comparable prices. Don't go here beware!!!!!
