• Stefanos (6/5): - Man sollte wissen, dass man auch ein Zimmer im 3 Stock ohne Aufzug bekommen kann. Das ist mit Koffer schwierig. Das Zimmer war grundsätzlich sauber aber kalt und hatte einen kalten Fußboden. Außerdem ist das Bad und vor allem die Küche optisch und funktionell wie aus den 60ern. Sehr ungemütlich.

Wenn es alternativlos ist, kann man das nehmen, im Vergleich zu anderen in dieser Preiskategorie fällt es klar durch Wenn ich Treppen laufen muss, um ins Bad zu kommen oder eben ins Zimmer, find ich das unpraktisch. Im Bad viel zu wenig Ablagefläche und sehr kaltes Licht! Insgesamt würde ich die Unterkunft als „kalt“ bezeichnen. Auch von der Zimmertemperatur her

Very friendly staff, comfortable room, plenty of parking on the street, supermarket around the corner, excellent breakfast and good value It fitted our needs perfectly.

Sadly we did not have time for breakfast as we had to travel further but the breakfast room looked very cozy and inviting and the food looked good. We had everything we needed.

Employees do not discuss guests and we were stopped for 5 minutes in the soft rain to explain we are actually paying for having a dog with us. Bathtub was shown on picture and not in the room. Due to energy prices, included spa was closed.

• Julia (4/5): - This is not a spa hotel. it just happens to be next to a physiotherapist practice, which of course at 7pm was closed.... no spa treatments there. Room was very basic and freezing cold. Had to check myself in, nobody at front desk at 7pm...
• Wouter (10/5): A hotel to remember. - The personel remembered your name and you could see their pride in the hotel and their work. Breakfast was excellent en in comparision cheap. There was a wide selection of meats/cheeses and fruits to choose from and ofcourse the bread was fresh and delicious. Everyday my room was cleaned and quickly sorted. I stayed to go to the Messe Essen everyday, so everything was there. 11/10, Will book again. The stand by lamp of the TV's do make a fine nightlamp in the dark. Nothing a quick unplug can't fix, but it can be something to be aware of.
• Sierra (10/5): Very pleasant stay due to amazing staff - The staff was absolutely fabulous. Each day at breakfast they provided us with everything needed and kept the buffet nice and fresh. At one point they knew what we liked to drink and could bring it over without even really asking! They were interested in us and always ready to help. This really made our stay very pleasant. Rooms are quite big, loads of closet space, tidy and well kept bathrooms. It was the ideal place to visit the Messe in Essen as it is just a short drive. Supermarket is very nearby and parking was easy, either in the street or in front of the hotel.

La partie Sauna et piscine est ouverte jusqu'à 21h, ce qui permet d'en profiter après la journée de travail. Très bon petit déjeuner. Le centre n'est pas loin et et un très beau parc se situé à proximité de l'hôtel. Seul bémol : il est indiqué personnel multilingue, or 2 employés sur les 5 avec qui j'ai pu m'entretenir ne parlait pas vraiment anglais (à priori uniquement allemand) ; c'est dommage et parfois problématique.

• Klaus (8/5): Insgesamt schöner Kurzaufenthalt! - Wir hatten insgesamt einen schönen Kurzaufenthalt von 2 Nächten. Die gesamt Hotelanlage und der Sparbereich sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, sollen aber in diesem Jahr noch umfassender saniert werden. Das Zimmer war solide, allerdings nur über eine Treppe zu erreichen. Einen Aufzug gibt es nicht. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker (auch mit Rührei und Lachs), der Service hier war wirklich gut (Auf Nachfrage wurden auch warme Milch und Spiegeleier serviert). Leider beschränkte sich die Auswahl an Mehrkornprodukten auf ein Brot. Den Sparbereich empfanden wir als angenehm und abwechselungsreich, wobei die Ruheräume etwas schallgeschützter sein könnten. Die Aufgüsse waren sehr schön. Von der Lage her ist das Hotel für Ausflüge nach Mühlheim und die Umgebung gut geeignet. Eine Anbindung an den ÖPNV ist über die Straßenbahn oder den gut 1 km entfernten Hauptbahnhof gegeben. Leider sind diesbezüglich die Auskünfte an der Rezeption sehr eingeschränkt, so dass vieles in Eigenregie zu organisieren ist.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Ideal zum Musicalbesuch - Wir waren für eine Nacht im Hotel am Oppspring. Für uns war es eine optimale Unterkunft zum Musical-Besuch im nahen Oberhausen (20 Minuten). Zweckdienlich eingerichtet. Einziges Manko: Beim Thema "Spa" sollte offensiver vermerkt sein, dass es sich beim Außenpool um einen Nacktbereich handelt. Wir waren frühzeitig da, wollten dieses nutzen, mein Sohn war dazu aber nicht zu bewegen.
• Dr. (2/5): Unverschämtes Personal und kinderfeindliches Haus - Hotel ist auf zwei Gebäude verteilt, direkten Zugang gibt es nicht. Leider kann das Hotel überhaupt nicht empfohlen werden. Bereits beim Check-In war die Dame maßlos überfordert und machte Vorhaltungen, wieso zuvor für ein anderes Datum gebucht und storniert wurde, obwohl dies eindeutig über die Plattform möglich war. Informationen über Frühstück (Wann/Wo) und nutzbaren Einrichtungen wurden auch auf Nachfrage hin nicht oder nur unvollständig gegeben. Das gebuchte (Drei-Personen) Zimmer wurde nicht vorgehalten, stattdessen wurden wir auf 2 getrennte Zimmer (EZ im EG und DZ im Dachgeschoss, 3.Stock) verteilt. Dachgeschoss war brütend heiß, Zimmer im EG sehr klein. Haus insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Ein weiteres Doppelzimmer, das wir besichtigt haben, roch muffig. Das Babybett kostet EUR 15 und man darf es auch noch selbst schleppen/aufbauen. Die Höhe jedoch, dass meine Frau und unser 2 Monate altes Baby mit rüden Worten aus dem Hotelgarten auf die Straße gejagt wurden, da dieser angeblich noch nicht geöffnet war. Dafür sind wegen des angeschlossenen Spa, der überwiegend nackt genutzt wird, Dutzende von nackten Rentnern unterwegs. Auf Nachfrage beim Check-Out wurde dann als weitere Rechtfertigung gesagt, dass man bekleidet den Garten überhaupt nicht nutzen dürfte. Nur in Badebekleidung oder Nackt, worüber niemals aufgeklärt wurde. Aus diesem Grund stellt das Hotel auch Mülltonnen vor die Balkone der Zimmer, damit man nicht in den Garten gehe...

• Lothar (8/5): - Schade war, dass am Anreiseabend (Samstag) die Sauna um 19.00 Uhr zumachte. Deshalb hatte ich dieses Hotel extra gebucht. Es war nirgendwo viermerkt, sonst hätte ich mich anders entschieden. Ich änderte meine Pläne und könnte dafür Sonntag ab 11.00 den Saunabereich noch nutzen.

Das Badezimmer könnte aber mal eine Renovierung gebrauchen. Hervorzuheben ist der überaus freundliche Service beim Frühstück und auschecken. Ich würde wieder kommen

Das Zimmer war für uns als WE Urlauber völlig ausreichend, dennoch hätten wir uns über eine Minibar/Kühlmöglichkeit gefreut!! Es war alles sehr sauber!! Das Frühstück war klasse, auf Wunsch wurden verschiedene Eiervarianten zubereitet. Nettes Personal, wir würden immer wieder kommen und auch weiterempfehlen!!

"Hello ......, Yes, I remember the bottle of water that was handed to me by Derek, as I left the spa.........he should have mentioned the charge at the time, but OK, no problem. New subject; I had a room at your hotel/spa without a working shower. The water was extremely hot and was not able to be used to take a complete shower. At one time I had people/employees standing in my room (with my hair and body covered in soap) to inspect what was going on during my "shower". After 6 discussions (3 with ..... by myself and Mr. ....., 3 with other employees), ..... finally determined that the thermostat was broken and had internal damages......the parts would take a long time to come. The shower in my room never worked correctly during my entire stay. I had to take a shower in my colleague's room, or in the spa. This was a hindrance to both myself and Mr. ..... and a time waster. I was never able to use the shower, in addition to constant conversations with Hotel am Oppspring employees about the fact that it did not work properly and was WAY TOO HOT. The shower was not fixed in the four (4) days that we stayed at the hotel. I was constantly inconvenienced by the fact that I was not able to use the shower in my room, a request that many would have. Upon checking out, there was really nothing to discuss further........so, I was polite.......etc., etc.

Use the spa for the day if you must, but dont stay at the hotel. there are two buildings......by all means never stay in the building that is adjacent to the building with the spa. One of the worst accommodations I have ever seen. One room they tried to put me into was the size of a closet. neither building has an elevator so you drag your luggage up the stairs. the rooms that share the spa building are better.....but this place is not really serious about being a hotel. no phones in the room, so no way to contact anyone if you need anything, which isn't possible after 7PM anyway as the employees all leave. no room service, lunch or dinner. a small breakfast is served. no english stations on the TV. to their credit, the staff is very nice and helpful, but they dont have much to work with. i kinda felt sorry for them. the shower was broken in the room, but it took at least two days for the staff to acknowledge this fact, and then a part had to be ordered, etc. so had to use the shower in another room. no offer was made to compensate for this inconvenience. bad business. as for the spa, there are different sauna's of various heat, indoor and outdoor pool, you can get massage and even physical therapy. not really worth traveling any distance for. if you are in the area and feel like a soak and heat, it's ok.
