We also found multiple water bugs and ants in our room and bed. The breakfast was amazing however the conditions of the apartment were substandard.

- Rachael (10/5): - I truly can't recommend this hotel enough. Firstly the building and surrounding area is right in the heart of old town so it's absolutely beautiful. The rooms were impeccably clean and we had everything we could have wanted. Another great benefit is that despite being very central it wasn't noisy at all and we slept great. With all that said the highlight is definitely the staff. Savvas and his family are all lovely people who are so welcoming and helpful. On our first day there we slept in a little late because we flew in late and still were very kindly given a lovely breakfast (and it was lovely every day afterwards too). If you're wanting to stay in old town book here!

- Matt (10/5): - We stayed here just one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The property is a historic building. The room was very clean. The bathroom was small, but it had all the necessities we needed during our stay. The best part about our stay was the breakfast. The hosts made breakfast for the three of us (myself, my wife, and our 18-month daughter). They made a small omelette just for our daughter. Meanwhile, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with loads of traditional and local foods. The hosts were very friendly and the atmosphere as a whole left us with quite an impression. To those traveling during the off-season: Keep in mind that during the off-season most places in this part of the city are closed. Google maps will show that the many restaurants in the area are open - they are not. Make sure that you bring some food with you for the evening, or you may choose to walk beyond the old city and toward the coast (in the northwest direction) for some restaurants that are open late. Keep in mind that you may have to check yourself in. When we found the place, the hosts were at a different location, so we checked ourselves in and we did not see the hosts until the next morning. This was not a problem at all, its just part of the off-season. There is not tea kettle in the room, but there is a small kitchenette in the common area, so it is still possible to make yourself some tea in the evening. As a whole, this was a very unique stay and a wonderful experience. 5/5

- Luca (6/5): It could have been such a great stay, but wasn't. - The hotel is in a superb location and the building has a very distinctive character. When I arrived nobody was there at the reception and had to communicate via Whatsapp to check in. When the owner/personnel were around, they were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. But the rest wasn't so great. My room was very small and not that comfortable. There was no wardrobe in the room and I was asked to use one in the vestibule (i.e. in a public area!). I ended up keeping my clothes part in my suitcase and part on the floor. I found a small fridge in the outside cupboard and took it, because the room didn't have one. The bathroom fittings were poor. A wall mounted hook fell to the floor when I tried to hang a towel on it. The shower head was not fixed to the wall and I had to hold it (there were holes in the wall, but the job was never finished). There were signs of damage here and there. The room was made after my first night but not after the second. The TV remote control didn't work: not that it mattered, since I hardly ever watch TV in hotels, but still. Despite the looks, walls are thin: there was quite a bit of noise one night. I saw pictures of some of the other rooms on the web and they look great, which combined with the location and the quality of the breakfast explains the high rates the hotel gets: unfortunately the occasional guest ends up in a dodgy corner and for those 3 nights that guest happened to be me.

- William (10/5): Charming Comfort and Hospitality - Savvas and Jenny have hospitality in their blood, and they work hard to make sure guests are comfortable. From the moment you walk in, the first thing you notice is how clean and fresh everything smells. The beds are nice and firm. Our first morning we intended to go out early for bougatsa. Jenny asked, “Where you going so early?” Savvas arrived with freshly baked bread shortly afterwards and said, “Why didn’t you say you wanted bougatsa?” Then he said, “Sit. I get you bougatsa.” While he prepared an amazing omelette, Jenny went and bought bougatsa and brought it back and served it to us with the rest of the amazing breakfast. Talk about service! We had a little hiccup trying to get to the hotel. It was our first time in Rhodes, and we didn’t realize that being in “Old Rhodes” meant that the hotel was inside a walled fortress. GPS kept telling us to enter a gated street. After driving over an hour looking for another possible entrance, we called the hotel, and Savvas met us on his motorcycle and let us go with him down the gated street—being with him gave us access. He then had a local electric taxi meet us to take us to the hotel. He said we should have called first. Our last day, we had to leave early to catch the ferry, and they served us breakfast an hour earlier than the stated time. In every way, they were eager to serve. Note: if you’re unfamiliar with remote control AC, be sure to ask. You don’t have to suffer the heat!
- Sylvia (8/5): - We had a lovely 1 night stay at this property. We booked the 2-bed house which is located just opposite the main building. The location was fabulous with lots of shopping and dining options close by. We were right in the middle of everything, but our street was very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent. We only gave a 4* review due to lack of check-in experience, and it would have been nice if the lounge in the 2-bed house had air con. We would stay here again if we return to Rhodes.

- Marvin (10/5): - This was a wonderful hotel and we not only highly recommend this, but would travel half way around the world to return! What made it so special was the kind owner and his staff who pampered us: individually prepared breakfast (with the delicious omelets), daily room cleaning, free laundry, free high speed internet, etc. Of course, this Old Town facility was in a very old building and hot water was problematic. Twice we had cold showers which we discussed with the owner and he is aware of this issue. This inconvenience was overshadowed by the other many positives!

- Andreas (10/5): - Everything was perfect. We only stayed a few hours as arrived at midnight and had to catch an early morning ferry, but still the manager waited for us to check us in, gave us instructions for where to go on a quick nigthtime walk around Rhodes, and made us breakfast early in the morning. The location of the hotel is excellent, near the bustling main street of the Old Town, but tucked away in a small alley, meaning it was very quiet.
- Gerard (10/5): - Our host Savvas made every moment of our trip delightful. Our In coming flight into Rhodes was two hours late. He patiently sat at the airport and waited for us. Each morning Savvas made us a from scratch breakfast omelette with fresh vegetables, fresh baked bread, homemade jams, assorted olives. We enjoyed our 5 night stay and watched as He treated each client with the upmost respect and dignity. He helped each client arrange excursions for the day ahead and provided recommendations to the finest Greek food and which shops to avoid. Even on our final morning which required us to be at the airport by 7am. Savvas offered to make us breakfast before shuttling us to the airport to catch our early flight. Would I recommend Evdokia Boutique hotel to a fellow traveler YES! It’s a good jumping point to many different places on the island.

- Ahsan (10/5): - Savvas and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfasts set us up for the day. Great location, near main shopping street and tourist sites as well as the harbour. Many excellent Tavernas nearby. Transport to other areas was close by - we took a bus to Lindos for the day, and also booked a Ferry trip to the Isle of Symi. Overall a very enjoyable 7 days. If you have mobility issues then bring a walking stick - streets in Rhodes are not level and some sites involve climbing many steps.
- Charles (4/5): Don't get what you pay for. - We booked and paid for a 2 bedroomed apartment/house with sitting area and kitchen as well as bathroom. What we received was 2 very basic outdated bedrooms.

The building itself has great character, with a sitting area ideal for reading or relaxing away from everything. Our room (number 4) had its own veranda where we ate lunch and sunbathed when we wanted a change from the beach. The bed was incredibly comfy.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Edvokia Boutique Hotel - Savvas and Theo were more than hospitable, making this hotel difficult to review. My room was small and dark and old fashioned with a noisy fridge (Savvas please note I turned it down), however I was offered an upgrade which I chose not to take up as I had already unpacked. Excellent location in the Old Town, large common room, easy access, and personalised communal breakfasts lift this hotel to a higher level. Many of the rooms had been modernised.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Location, location, location! - Amazing! What a pleasure to stay right in the center of Old Town in a historic building. Savvas is the BEST host and his daily traditional Greek breakfasts are a wonderful way to start your day. We were treated like royalty. The location is perfect! Great restaurants and shopping are right outside your door and a short walk takes you right to the beach. Stay in the room with the roof top terrace and enjoy a view of the old city walls, the Palace of the Grand Master and even the marina. Perfection. A great value for the price. I'm so glad we stayed at Evdokia and would again.

- Vasilis (10/5): Charming boutique hotel . - We got a nice clean room in the center of Rhodes old town at an excellent seasonal (winter) price! The building dates to the mid 14th century.
- Marie (10/5): Charm and comfort in Rhodes - What a great find in the heart of Rhodes Old Town! So cool to stay in ancient building full of character that has been well-renovated. Owner Savvas made omelettes for breakfast in addition to a full spread. Would definitely return!
- Judith (10/5): A Hidden Gem of a Hotel - We were looking for a truly different hotel experience and were not disappointed. The Evdokia is charming and it's location in the center of Old Town, in a 14th century building was exotic. The room is clean and comfortable (awesome mattress). The bathroom has plenty of hot water. The view looks over rooftops, flowers and a vista of the old city walls. Best of all is the gracious host, Savvas. He goes out of his way to make you comfortable. To get the most of the stay make sure you leave time for a leisurely breakfast: homemade, delicious, authentic Rhodesian flavors.

- Gary (8/5): Felt right at home at Evdokia! - The owner Savvas is fantastic. He is intuitive, friendly and generous. His howl is like a home and he makes you feel at home from the start. He provides a wonderful breakfast and HE cooks the main course ... omelette, crepe, etc. Many, many of his acoutrements are handmade and plentiful. His assistant Theo is also outstanding. You feel at home from the moment you are.
- Brian (2/5): - Abridged review. Evdokia is ‘boutique’, i.e. ‘small & exclusive’. It’s so elite in terms of the Rhodes accommodation market that on seeking directions, when in fact close by, locals didn’t know of Evdokia’s existence. Why didn’t I ‘phone to clarify location? This would naturally entail calls being answered! On arrival don’t be surprised if the usual warm Greek welcome is absent - Evdokia clearly prides itself for minimalism in terms of staffing. Potential guests may be concerned with comfort & cleanliness rather than historical & architectural merit. Describing the bedroom as tiny is understatement; the word ‘cubicle’ springs to mind. 2 persons + luggage = a sense of confinement; problem in negotiating a way round the bed! Maybe other rooms are more spacious and enhanced with a balcony and a view? Housekeeping: tidy enough but the practice of removing damp towels from the bathroom and placing them on the bed isn’t perhaps wholly hygienic. Apparently conserved buildings like this aren’t permitted air-conditioning; guests pragmatically counter excessive warmth at night, as we did, by simply leaving their bedroom doors open. Felt privileged to breakfast once - very continental - memorable too for being sole encounter with staff. If the common room also serves as the promised bar, games room, library, & lounge couldn’t be verified due to the brevity of our stay. Overall the ‘hotel’ disappointed. Charges purport superiority but don’t represent value for money. No regrets leaving.
