• Mario (4/5): - Difficile la strada per arrivare con sei guadi,e si sapeva, ma poi cento gradini ripidi o ,dal parcheggio,una rampa a tre settori riposa e scivolosa no.Camere nei bungalow piccole e poco arredate bisognose di manutenzione urgente.Staff abbastanza indifferente aiuto per i bagagli all’arriVi nessuno in partenza. Nessuna luce ne’ nella scalinata ne’ nella struttura la notte è la mancanza di un ristorante ( pioveva e la sera due volte la scalinata al buio) completano il quadro. Terribile
• karen (10/5): Great Place - A very nice family owned hotel! The views are awesome but some comfortable cushions would be a nice addition to the deck chairs. We saw many birds from our deck. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast was very good. The stairs may be hard if you are not in shape. This is a great place to stay.

• Miguel (2/5): Traveler BEWARE - If you are looking at this hotel as an option at Drake Bay, click return and look elsewhere. We attempted to reach the hotel after driving for >4 hrs from San Jose to find that there is no passage by land. To reach the hotel, one is required to take a boat for 1 hour on high seas. This was never disclosed at the time of the booking or the fact that the customer needs pay for parking fees at the dock and for the boat ride. Watch for hidden fees. The boat is not affiliated to the hotel so you are on your own. If you are willing to risk your life and that of your family then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, we do not travel by boat/ocean so we turned around. When we requested a full refund, the hotel went silent and stopped all communications with us. We are working with Orbitz who has graciously offered a refund and instructed hotel to disclose transportation options.

• Diane (10/5): Cool cabin with a view - Las Cotingas is in a great location just up from the beach where you arrive by boat and a short walk to restaurants & shops. The location is up overlooking the stunning bay. We loved the rustic style cabins with ocean view set in nice tropical gardens. We were in a 'partial view' cabin which had a good view with lovely veranda and hammock. The room was spacious with fridge, fans, locker and powerful shower. There is also a common covered sitting area which has a full baywide vista that you can use with wi-fi and where breakfast is served. Breakfast options are eggs, lovely pancakes, fruit and coffee. Free coffee available all the time. Staff are friendly and had helped us book trips before we arrived and transport when we were there. Drake Bay is small and relaxed with a great vibe. Well worth the trip here to see Corcovado and would recommend staying here.

Ikke regn med å sove lenge om morgenen, fugler og andre gjester sørger for en tidlig oppvåkning. Ettersom spisesteder på stedet stenger tidlig, og uteliv ellers er ikke-eksisterende, gjorde ikke dette oss noe som helst. Stedet anbefales varmt for besøkende med naturopplevelser som mål!

• Andreas (8/5): - Leider hatten wir Pech mit dem Wetter, es hat fast die ganze Zeit geregnet (Einflüsse von Hrrikan Otto). Der NP Corcovado war geschlossen, weshalb wir eine Tour durch die Mangrosen von Sierpe aus gemacht haben. Dies war sensationell!
• TOROLF (8/5): Convenient friendly place with amazing view - Perfect place to stay if you are up for an average Costa Rican room standard in this price segment. The room was clean and got cleaned well every day. Large fridge for storing your drinks etc. The view is simply fantastic if you get an ocean view room and we ended up spending more time than usual on the terrace, watchin a variety of birds and also some monkeys that came up close. The breakfast at 3500 CRC is rather disappointing, unfortunately (we have had better for 2000 on the road). Some other prices for additional in-hotel services also seemed rather high (eg. laundry), but if you don't need those, all is good here.

• jan (8/5): Mooie kamer met balkon en uitzicht over de baai. - Onze kamer lag dicht bij de boot af/aanvaart en door de lange trap omhoog had je een mooi, wijds uitzicht over de baai.
• Julia (6/5): Schöne Anlage, desinteressiertes Personal - Schlechter Service, beim Einchecken keinerlei Informationen, z.B. über Frühstückszeiten, als wir um 8:06 Uhr frühstücken wollten, hieß es, Frühstück gebe es nur von 6-8. Gummiüberzug der Matratze sorgte dafür, dass wir im eigenen Sud schmorten. Wie kommt man auf so eine Idee?
• Deb and John (10/5): LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! - Yes, it's a hike up there but they carried our bags. I want to go back and stay longer. The ocean view room was so NEAT with gorgeous view from deck and gorgeous jungle garden. Hanging on the deck was one of the best parts of our 2 week trip to Costa Rica!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great staff but the experience isn't for everyone - As others have said, Drake Bay is a very remote part of Costa Rica. You'll see lots of wildlife walking around but you are literally in the jungle so don't expect the amenities of some of the hotels in the main Costa Rica towns (Tamarindo, Jaco, etc.). That said, the staff is great and the rooms are nice. If you're looking for something off the grid, this is a great choice.

• Beth (6/5): Very much in character with Drake Bay - Drake Bay is a small town with dirt roads. Las Cotingas is a very comfortable and affordable place to stay. Mauricio is a gracious host with a desire for you to enjoy your stay. We stayed in the "honeymoon suite" and it was very comfortable. Breakfast has a wide variety of offerings and is quite good. Most of the travelers in the area seem to be from Europe. Be prepared to walk up stairs to get there, but it isn't really a big deal. The payoff is a gorgeous view of Drake Bay!

• Verified traveler (10/5): Cute, comfortable hotel with an amazing view! - I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms/cabin was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony and hotel restaurant had incredible views of the bay. The staff helped us organize activities (diving and visiting Corcovado National Park). Great option for Drake Bay.

• Andrew (10/5): Drake Bay access - This is a great place to stay and take advantage of all the Osa peninsula tours and activities. It's close to the drop off beach and 100 stairs above it. if that bothers you maybe you shouldn't be coming to the Osa in the first place. This is an active outdoor person place and not for the golf resort minded traveler. My cabin was breezy and had a great view of the ocean and beach.
• Flavia (8/5): Super Tage im Las Cotingas in der Drake Bay - Der Aufenthalt im Hotel Las Cotingas war sehr angenehm. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig und die Aussicht sowie die Hängematten vor den Zimmer laden zum verweilen ein. Das Frühstück wird serviert und war tiptop. Die Touren welche wir über die Lodge unternommen haben (Corcovado N.P. Und Schnorcheln bei Cano Island sowie die Night Tour waren super organisiert - wir wurden in der Lodge abgeholt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem ein super Aufenthalt.
• Genoveva (2/5): A huge disappointment - The sheets and pillows smelled like sweat and cheap cologne. The bathroom smelled terrible as if the septic tank was right in the room. They tried fixing it while we were there for four nights but it never was entirely gone. I couldn't feel clean the entire stay. There was no where to place the soap in the shower. This place had a nice view and close to the beach/town even though it is like 60 steps to get to the hotel from the road. It definitely was a huge disappointment considering its high reviews. I would chose another place to stay.

• Marisela (8/5): Recomendado - Excelente! Buscábamos escapar del bullicio de la ciudad y no pudimos haber elegido mejor opción. Nos escantaron las hamacas, la vista al mar,el sonido de las lapas al volar cerca y del mar reventando sus olas frente a nosostros. Lástima que el restaurante no estaba funcionando y tuvimos que ir a restaurantes cercanos.
• Jill (8/5): Great hotel - Beautiful view. Friendly helpful staff. You can book all your tours through them. Nice breakfast for only U$6. Cocktails are lovely too which you can have in the deck overlooking the sea at sundown. So close, 1 minute walk to the beach and 5 min walk to town. Ask for a room with seaview if you can and do get aircon, it may be a little extra but worth it
• Bjoern (10/5): Amazing stay - Absolute amazing views and amazing staff! Wonderful and clean rooms. Make sure to book the ocean view rooms - the view really is the best you can imagine. The pictures do not lie. Definitely recommend this hotel!

• Julien (8/5): Super hôtel à 2 pas de la plage - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Las Cotingas. Le personnel est très accueillant et notre chambre était bien équipée, propre et confortable. La terrasse de l'hôtel avec vue sur la baie est exceptionnelle. L'hôtel est situé à 2mn du "centre" de Drake. N'hésitez pas!

• martin (10/5): Friendliness from start to finish - Mauricio is very helpful and friendly. The cabins are basic but functional and the beds comfortable. There is no hot water but don't let this put you off as the water is warm enough to wash/shower in and cold enough to brush your teeth. Breakfast has limited but good choice.

They also provide standing fans and a fridge. Mosquito nets are provided but we didn't needed as there were bareyany bugs in our room. Overall a good place to stay a few nights when visiting Corcovado or Cano Island. Not much else to do other than that.
• Martijn (8/5): Prima voor verblijf in drake bay - Hotel met mooi uitzicht op de baai. Medewerkers zijn super behulpzaam. Wij hadden voor ons geplande verblijf een voedselvergiftiging opge lopen. Maar we konden gewoon een dag later komen en een hike Door corcovada werden zonder kosten geannuleerd. Wij schrokken wel van de krokodil die in de zee zwom, terwijl wij ook aan het zwemmen waren.

• Raquel (10/5): Buena calidad precio - Estuvimos dos noches en estas cabinas, la relación calidad precio está muy bien, un lujo de vistas desde el bungalow y desde el restaurante. Y la sensación de despertarte en medio de la selva no tiene precio!! El staff es super amable y dispuestos a echar un cable en todo. Si volvemos a Drake repetiremos.
