- Verified traveler (6/5): Thing to improve MB Hotel - Not a friendly receptionist. Need to activate room card daily if enter after 12pm event already paid for 2 days. Request from housekeeping need to make 3 call and took almost 20 minutes.

- jason (4/5): Poor service - Poor service. Upon checked in the counter staff asked where I book my stay from instead of searching in their file or system. Room card given was unable to open the room door so I need to walk down again. I booked a king size bed room but was given 2 single bed. The staff insisted that I booked wrongly. Then finally I got a king size bed room but then I asked for a comer room which is vacant but the counter staff told me the room is having problem which is just a excuse. I got info from another staff that a guest had just checked out and the room was ok. I don’t feel welcomed each time I step into the hotel premise. Hopefully things could improve and Hotel.com please look for better property in tawau.

- Chan (6/5): Reasonable hotel at town center - MB hotel is a bit old. The lobby seats needs to b replaced immediately as the pu is breaking up. Rooms r reasonably clean. Breakfast is descent with same food daily for the 3 days we stayed. Coffee is terrible. Coffee house is too dark for breakfast fast . 3 in 1 Indocoffee provided in room was too sweet & hotel could not provide other type when requested. Reception staff are OK but need to b more friendly & customer service improved.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable stay - Stayed at MB hotel at Tawau as a transit point for dive trip at Mabul/Sipadan. Opted for the premier room which was located at the top floor. It was comfortable, spacious, clean, though the pillows has a musty smell. It was well-located in the midst of Tawau town with coffee shops, KFC and convenient stores located nearby. Breakfast was adequately provided for in the in-house coffee lounge at the ground floor.

- jason (8/5): - Hotel need to be better maintained. Service stuff need to be more friendly and proactive. Did not greet or welcome the guest. Very lame. Shower in room was little spooky. Water went dripping from the shower even before I used and the floor is still dry when I checked in.

So far the rooms assigned were quiet and reasonably priced. I have always booked and paid using expedia for this hotel. Checking in and Checking out was a breeze without any issues. Breakfast was provided during all my stay. Choice of breakfast item is quite limited but adequate to my tastes. Overall the stay at this hotel have been satisfactory and I will continue to stay at this hotel whenever I'm in town.

- YewBee (2/5): MB Stands for Maximum Bad, Hotel - From existing reviews and thinking that MB is good and clean I shifted my stay in a two stars very very clean and good hotel to stay in the very run down MB. Everyone out there, don't be mislead by those reviews and pictures of the hotel exterior and the rooms. They were taken years ago. First the bedroom's walls papers dropped off from all corners. Beds old. Blankets very old and thin and not fluffy. Blanket and pillow covers have stains and holes. And not white but become off white after many years of usage. About the toilet, bath area, taps, you can just imagine how dirty it can be. Dirt everywhere. On top of that, there is no boxes of tissue and toothbrushes.The only truth about other reviews is the breakfast being the same everyday, is OK.

- michelle (4/5): Won't go back again. - Old hotel and staff are not friendly. Room facilities are bad. Safe box was spoilt, bathroom very small and hair dryer is smelly. Air-con didn't function well sometimes cannot on the air-con and after awhile then it can work. This hotel didn't provided toothbrush and toothpaste as well. Breakfast not much variety (no kids meal) only fried rice or fried noodle and not even hot water provided.

Parking space around the hotel is limited and can be congested at the near the hotel entrance.

- Azrien (6/5): Experience could have been better. - Booked for 1 night and arrived quite late (around 9pm) and checked-in straight away. I was given a room other than the previously booked type of room and only noticed it later. Requested a change and was entertained almost immediately but without the choice of bed (King bed) for the reason only they know better. The change might also cost me the sea view which I don't mind at first but regret later. The buffet breakfast selection was limited but not a problem for me. As stated, be at the cafe early or 40 minutes prior closure time, food replenishment will not be entertained. Local morning newspaper was also given which is a bonus. Overall, an okay experience as the hotel is within town centre where almost everything within reach.
