Guest Reviews
- Krystle (10/5): - Yukon Inn is a favorite for Yukoners- it has good rates and
- Natalia (6/5): - Clean room, friendly staff.
Clean room and good location. It seems the room was recently renovated but not completely finished. The hairdryer was in a drawer with the wall mount still attached, which seemed a bit odd. The phone charging port in the nightstand didn’t work properly.
The bathroom mirror was placed too low — I’m 5’9” and had to squat to see my face. The rooms are not soundproof at all; you can clearly hear conversations from the next room. The hotel also had a noticeable smell, which was unpleasant.
Additionally, I’m not sure why I was charged for an extra person when my reservation clearly stated two people. Overall, it felt a bit too expensive for what was offered.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Rooms recently renovated, basic but clean and nice.
- Tina (6/5): - Hotel renovations. No "eating or drinking" in lobby. No business center. Thin walls. Beds ok. Room a little run down but not terrible. Busy street in strip mall parking lot.
- Nick (2/5): - Loud neighbors during the night.
- Joseph (8/5): - I liked the TV service, clean room, bathroom needs modernization, tub had small rust holes in it, food a bit heavy in restaurant, but it was tasty, need more vegetarian options, staff in restaurant and in general was great.
- Sharon (8/5): - The rooms, staff and restaurant are excellent. There were a couple instances of loud people in the hallway late at night / early morning that made it feel a little unsafe, but nothing came of it. Also a lot of people smoking pot in the parking lot.
- Sierra (8/5): - Clean room. Nice that there is a restaurant on site for breakfast
- Lucas (4/5): Eh - Front desk guy, said i only booked one room and was no help. Found my reservation and still said well its not showing here and i can deal with hotels.com or get another. After again showing him he theb said oh its here.
- Debbie (8/5): - The rooms have been updated since my last stay, but the lobby and hallways are definitely outdated. I did find it strange there was no chain lock on the door of the bedroom.
- Dana (10/5): - Very clean. Soft sheets. Roomy bathroom. Friendly smiles
- Bernhard (8/5): - Typical hotel in tourist area
- Ernesta (2/5): Do not stay in this hotel - We checked in and checked out 15 min later, intoxicated, belligerent people hanging out by entrance. I did not feel safe at this hotel. We tried to get a refund for the stay for the reasons listed and manger refused the refund. We booked the Hyatt Place to stay in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Front desk clerk did not go and look and handle the people in the front of hotel.
- Wally (6/5): - Noisy and many undesirable types hanging around the property 24/7.
- Christine (6/5): - When we asked for more toiletries, we were given small bottles that were not enough for the three of us. I had hoped that the large bottles by the sink would be refilled.
We had to ask to towels for the third party in our group twice.
- Kayla (10/5): - Great beds and clean bathrooms. Loud when planes take off, but they don’t go all night.
- Linda (8/5): - A lot of random people hanging around outside, unfortunately.
- Natalie (10/5): - Comfortable beds, pleasant staff. Area was not too nice to walk in- overly catering to drivers.
- Harleigh (6/5): - My room never got cleaned my whole stay. So my towels had to be conserved
- Angeline (8/5): - The rooms in the Yukon Inn were recently renovated so they look quite nice inside, with red, black and grey and new furniture. The staff are excellent and are very friendly, very attentive, and I found them to be very accommodating. 10/10 We also used the laundry which was handy although you needed coins to operate the machines.
The only 2 things I did not like were: 1) the smoking area was right outside my non smoking room so the smoke came in through my window whenever someone sat smoking in the smoking cubicle. And 2) the fire/smoke alarm started beeping at wee hours and woke all of us up so we got very little sleep. The smoke detectors were expired 8 YEARS ago and were not replaced. They did move us into a different and less expensive room with a smaller fridge/less space for the 2nd night (the fridge in the 1st room was a full fridge and was lovely) but that room also had an expired smoke alarm. The place itself was quite nice and acceptable, comparing it to the horrible experience we'd had the night before at Watson Lake at (Andrea's hotel where all rooms and walls were so disgusting-don't stay at Andrea's!!!) so the beds and nice decor at Yukon Inn in comparison was sooo welcome!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the food at the Yukon Inn restaurant, Legends Smokehouse and Grill.
(I do hope they've replaced all their smoke detectors though!)
We'd definitely stay there again! Beds were comfy!
- Robert (8/5): - Not much to look at, and clearly often a place for seasonal workers; hallways and front office plain, but the room was very good and more than adequate. Public area carpet was probably chosen to deal with dirty winter boots.
- Cheng (10/5): - Spacious room, clean. The people work here all are friendly. We had a very nice dinner at their restaurant: Legends Smoke House & Grill, delicious food. McDonald's is in walking distance.
- Brenda (4/5): - Dirty with locals hanging all around outside
- Louise (6/5): - Lots of homeless around and walls are thin - noisy hallways - but it was clean and we had a nice kitchenette.
- Yihe (4/5): - The staff are unprofessional and lack basic comprehension of conversation.
No room housekeeping service was made for my three-day stay at here.
No elevator available. Noisy. Moldy bed sheet.
Whitehorse is a small city so you can walk to most places within 30min. near supermarkets and Mcdonald's.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a great choice - The room was okay. The location was great. I really disliked that the locals used the smoking shelter, often taking up the benches, asking for money and cigarettes and in one case, doing drugs. Perhaps a sign could be posted that the area is for guests only. Frankly, there are not a lot of options in this price range in Whitehorse, which is the reason we chose the hotel.
- Louise (6/5): - Old hotel but clean. No elevator so have to haul bags upstairs of on second floor.
- Sinisa (8/5): - Great rooms, clean, excellent location. Very good value
- RALPH (8/5): - Comfortable room and good value
- Alan (8/5): - It is the Yukon. Very friendly and conscientious staff but also limited resources. Comfortable and clean beds end comments. Real value for good rates.
- Qingxiu (10/5): - Rooms were spacious and clean.
- Brian (10/5): - It was a great location, plenty of parking, Great cafe to eat breakfast at.
- Darren (8/5): - No elevator to get to 2nd floor. Room had a weird deodorizer smell but went away. Beds were comfy enough.
- Robert (8/5): - I stay in Whitehorse a little bit and found Yukon Inn to be good value. Sure, it could do with a makeover but it's clean, the rooms are large and the bed was comfortable.
Upside for me is the Big Bear across the road, nearby shopping options, some fast food and 10 minute walk down to Main Street. In house Legends bar/restaurant is well priced for food and booze.
It's quiet too.I think I've found my go to for next trip.
- Derek (8/5): - Not a bad place to spend a few unexpected extra days in Whitehorse (thanks Air Canada). Hotel was perfectly adequate and in a convenient location. Internet was terrible and walls were paper thin. Otherwise, no complaints.
- dan (10/5): Great stay! - This is obviously an older hotel but everything is so neat and clean.
But the rooms have been completely updated. Everything was done first class. I should know, I’m a licensed contractor who specializes in commercial remodels.
You won’t be disappointed.
- Chris (10/5): - Nicely renovated room and very quiet
- carol (10/5): - Food excellent
Location good
- Alain (8/5): - Walkable
- Linden (4/5): - Did not smell good in lobby very musty odor. Exterior window in room is broken and will not close. Wall outlet came out of wall when i pulled plug. People outside smoking dope or roaming the parking lot. Hand soap in bathroom is empty. Reminds me of a old motel 6. No way this is 3 stars.
- Matt (6/5): - It isnt much but its ok. Ive stayed in better and worse in Whitehorse.
- Greg (8/5): - Close to a lot of food options, airport and walking trail.
- Ken (6/5): - The hotel has no elevator and only one entrance stairs to second floor. A very long walk to room 229.
- Alan (10/5): - Good location
- Kim (10/5): - Bed was very comfortable and inn was clean
- Allen Carolyn (6/5): - Needs more lighting in rooms. Air conditioner was noisy.
- Varun (10/5): - Yukon Inn: Cozy Convenience in the Heart of Whitehorse
If you're venturing into the wild beauty of Yukon but still want a warm bed, reliable Wi-Fi, and a hearty meal, the Yukon Inn offers a solid basecamp.
Many rooms have been updated with modern touches, including air conditioning, fridges, microwaves, and blackout curtains.
The place is like a home away from home.
- Cassandra (8/5): - Good location clean rooms.
- Yvonne (4/5): - Sketch people in parking lot. Kinda of a sketch area.
- George (8/5): - food was good, beds were great, wifi good transportation excellent, room service was a not good we were there 3 days only gave us towel and made our beds when we asked for them
- Christopher (10/5): A great place to stay when travelling in the Yukon - Great little inn. Good price. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was super helpful. Shuttle to and from the airport whenever there's a flight coming or going is very convenient. Close to some good restos and other stores. Overall, a great place to stay when travelling in the Yukon
- Jean (6/5): - The beds were comfy and the restaurant had good food. The first appearance of the lobby is not that great. The carpet up the stairs is very worn giving it a shabby look.
- Brian (6/5): - No elevators (sucks when you have multiple bags) no water and ice that I could find, all the vending machines are either sold out or out of service. Couldn’t
- William (8/5): - They are ok, not special enough to write about. Clean and safe though.
- Domonic (6/5): - Very expensive for a tired property. The toilet stopper would stick open. No Elevator to help with Bags for upper units. Location is nice across from McDonalds and walking distance to many Dinner Restaurants.
- Abigail (8/5): - The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - I've stayed here many times and will continue to do so. The hotel doesn't look great from the outside and the lobby and hallways look a bit rough. However, many of the rooms are recently refinished and are in nice condition and are clean. Beds comfortable, good TV and internet, clean bathroom; fridge; coffee maker; microwave.
- Maria (10/5): - Great place to stay - but they do not have an elevator.
- Kim (6/5): - Hallway to room smelled terrible. But room was fine.
- Nathan (6/5): - The lobby reeked of smoke and weed at all times.
Room was ok. Bathroom floors dirty in corners.
Beds were comfy. Air conditioning doesn’t work very well.
- Michelle (8/5): - Beautiful room awesome comfortable bed
- Susan (10/5): - Traveling from Anchorage. Great place to stay. Plenty of parking, super comfortable bed and pillows! The staff were friendly and helpful! Will definitely stay again when traveling through the area.
- Greg (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Carl (8/5): - Good parking and convenient
- Carl (8/5): - It was located at a good location in the city.
- Frazer (4/5): - A lot of drunk homeless people around the property. Rooms are dated and lots of stains in the rooms
- Susan (8/5): Don’t judge a book by it’s cover - Rooms are updated, large smart TV, medium firm bed, central location walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, liquor store. Some of the clientele and/or people hanging around the hotel/motel is questionable. It’s looks iffy, but it was okay for a quick overnight stay.
- Matt (10/5): - It's an older hotel and that shows, but it's clean and the staff were great. Walls are thin but my fellow travellers were quiet enough, so that's nice.
- Doris (8/5): - not to unique
- Lois (6/5): - Cut the internet off at 10am
- Eric (8/5): - First time staying here. I’d come back.
- Connie (8/5): Almost 5 star - Everyone and things were great. The only thing I didn’t like was the acoustics. It was like the walls were made of paper. We could hear cars parking outside, people’s conversations and walking.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Best sleep I’ve had in awhile!!
- Marlene (10/5): - Our favourite place
- Harmeet K (4/5): - I did not like any thing about the hotel. The only reason I stayed there was because I couldn’t not get accommodation any other place. I don’t recommend and will not stay in this hotel again
- Zeeshan (10/5): - An amazing property to stay. Great price, great service
- Gwennael (8/5): not bad - no internet wifi spotty at best
- Tom (8/5): - The people were very nice and helpful and the food was great.I was also surprised the room was very very quiet i heard nothing my entire stay.
The only thing i wish they had was better TV choices news and sports was all they had a movie at night before i fell to sleep would have been nice but over all i loved my stay.
- Mary (10/5): - I always like to stay at the Yukon Inn - super convenient location, and I love the new updates in the rooms.
- Carmen (2/5): - The first red flag were the staggering homeless people (or hotel guests?) loitering outside…. If we had seen the outside before booking we would not have chosen this place. Sketchy AF. We had already paid so it was what it was. We were just there to sleep and get on our way first thing in the am. Check in was great. Super nice staff all around. Not lacking there. Walking to the room many of the rooms were open to the murky hallway and people were going in between rooms like a frat house. Again all we wanted was to sleep so who cares what other people were doing. Well it turns out the rooms have sound proofing but the doors and ducts don’t. Everything going on was literally like it was being piped into the room. Every word. We slept terrible. With a 13hr drive ahead of us we got the heck out of there first thing in the am. Positives: clean room, nice staff.
Negatives: other guests appeared to be living there (shelter?) very noisy, sketchy location.
I would never ever stay here again.
- Brian (10/5): - Very good parking. Close to restaurants . Clean quiet rooms with friendly staff.
- Yves (4/5): - Bad: horrible wifi, tv cable off day 2 of 5 never fixed so no tv, curtain didn’t cover full window so very bright all night, no water for several hours, felt unclean around hotel, staff not very helpful, all vending machines broken.
Good: very comfortable beds, a/c worked but loud, staff friendly, restaurant was good, water pressure was good.
Will not be returning
- Daniel (6/5): - It was not worth the money paid
- Colleen (8/5): - Pros: staff was great, laundry on the premises was great, the room was clean and nice
Cons: the hallways and lobby was a bit dirty
- Swag (8/5): - .
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Great
- Claude (8/5): - Not a lot in walking distance
- Greg (6/5): - I had a allergic reaction when I stayed they
- Susan (8/5): - Good location and quiet stay. Room had a fragrance which I was sensitive to.
- Bruce (4/5): - Kind of a dump, dated and aged, tired looking, had a smell about it. Halls tight and carpeting very beat up looking. No elevator. Rooms were a little better. Unsavoury clientele hanging around the door smoking, was a fight in next room at 4am, very little sound insulation so heard the everything. Crowded parking lot with tight stalls, expected to get dinged.
On the plus side, very impressed with the shower.
- Charlotte (8/5): - Not the newest hotel but always our go to. Excellent staff, always helpful. Great meals at the restaurant 😋
- Olga (2/5): (( Lice ))) - The place looks sketchy from the moment you enter the parking lot and then is really noisy late at night and the worst they have lice is disgusting management doesn’t care about customers
- Jasmine (10/5): - Comfortable and quiet
- Kelly (8/5): - Nice rooms and clean
- Cross Border (10/5): - Bit of a construction zone on the second floor - but had signage saying renovations were taking place. But overall 10/10 would stay again
- Philip (6/5): - Locals hanging around outside arguing and yelling. People up and down the hall talking loudly and slamming doors all night long .
- Verified traveler (4/5): 3 out of 10 overall. - This hotels’ setting is, I’d say 4 out of 10. Large parking lot but lots of pot holes. Its proximity to desirable businesses in the downtown area is not great. There are some not so desirable people ‘hanging around’ the area. The overall street appeal or look to the hotel is like 4 out of 10. The Avenue out front was off & on a little noisy. People often talking, arguing in parking lot & in hotel.
The room was fairly clean. Lots of dust or dirt actually on the curtains. The toilet did not work properly. The t.v.’s channels were difficult to figure out & on a Saturday night, you could not get a hockey game. The beds were comfortable. Restaurant is great!
Housekeeping staff were friendly & helpful. Front desk when booked said I could probably check in anytime after 12. When I arrived at about 12:30, I was told I wouldn’t be able to check in until at least 3-3:30. Their check in time is 3.
- Greg (10/5): - Good
- Burton (6/5): - Older hotel past its prime. Bar and restaurant pretty basic. Bar completely dead, closes at 10pm. Clean, renovated rooms, pillows could use replacement though. Nothing particularly wrong with the hotel, but for comparable price we should have stayed elsewhere.
- Randy (8/5): - Alway stay here every time food is awesome.
