- ANTHONY (9/5): Very nice hotel would recommend a stop there but wouldn't put up with the poor breakfast mains next - Enjoyed room nice size plenty of light. Breakfast was a disappointment mainly the mains.My wife had egg Benedict it is was cold we even googled afterwards to check if it was supposed to be served cold which it isn't. We didn't complain mainly because we had to leave early as we were due in Newmarket to meet a tour guide at 7.45am just didn't the hassle of waiting and making a fuss !!!!!

Honestly, you were all incredible for our conference which was held at the Bedford Lodge in April 2026 across 2 days. I particularly want to thank Dimitrin, Grace, Andy and Eleanor along with the ladies who served us during the conference days and also the evenings as well as all the boys and girls on the bar. Every single member of staff were presented well and just went above and beyond at all times. It made my job that little bit easier and are a true credit to Bedford Lodge. Dimitrin really was the best as he just knew exactly what was needed, every time it was needed and I was very needy at times! Ha All of our delegates commented on the hotel, the grounds, the rooms. the food and everything was just impeccable.

- Peter (10/5): This was a last minute booking, having stayed at the hotel before our expectations were set, but we are delighted to any - We have stayed before, brilliant location for visiting East Anglia and if you are into horses. This time we stayed in a suite, which far exceeded our expectations. The staff are a delight, helpful, friendly and cheerful, some we have seen before which suggests they enjoy staff loyalty and avoid the usual churn found in the hotel industry. Absolutely nothing, the only encounter was an indifferent bar meal which was resolved without question

Also the quality of the toiletries and the coffees and teas, the provision of a fridge and a speaker. The massages in the Spa were so relaxing. The quality and choice of food for breakfast, light lunches and dinner was very good and all beautifully presented with great service. No green or herbal/fruit tea in room.

The facilities were exceptional and the rooms had a touch of something above most other hotels. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this hotel.
- jennad1960 (10/5): Excellent - Stayed overnight here before a day spa. Room very comfortable, maybe a tad tired but functional nonetheless. Dinner in the evening was superb. The pork belly was delicious as was the dessert, the name of which I can’t remember but it was shaped like a horseshoe made of chocolate and salted caramel! Compliments to the chef/s. All the staff I came across were very friendly and helpful.

- Deborah (8/5): Lovely hotel in excellent location. - I spent 2 nights in this beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. Quiet, well appointed, clean room overlooking stables and horse walkers. The horses popping their heads out of their stables was cute. Young male housekeeper was so friendly and chatting whilst he worked. He left my room spotless in time at all. Male check out receptionist on Friday morning was polite, friendly, happy and professional. He was helpful allowing me back in my room after I'd checked out, to retrieve my phone charger and then letting me charge it. All the staff in the restaurant and bar were fabulous, attentive and friendly. I sadly didn't have time to use the pool and spa, but both looked amazing. The best sleep ever. Team of gardeners keeping the grounds immaculate. Everything was wonderful except.... On my arrival (18 mins prior to checking in,) on Wednesday 1st April. There were were 2 trainee receptionists being overseen by a male receptionist. As I approached the check in desk, he explained check in is at 3pm and ushered me to sit and wait in the lobby until then as they were going through their preparation. I undertaken I was a little early, but it wasn't as if I had arrived 1-2 hours early? At 3pm, a couple arrived for check in. They were greeted and checked in instantly, whilst I was waiting patiently. I found this rude and felt unimportant. He could have said..."this lady has been waiting before you"? I jumped up to be checked in before yet another couple arrived. He then asked if I was checking in? Perhaps he might have remembered me? I was sat only 3 feet away, where he had sent me? I've not stayed in the hotel before and was attending for a wedding. I believed I had chosen well, but this gave a very bad first impression. No smiles, just abrupt and dismissive. When I did check in, it was brief and prescriptive, rather than friendly and making me feel welcome. The room was really hot. I had to turn the thermostat off as it seemed to be set at a particular temperature and wouldn't reduce. The bathroom appeared to have a heated mirror as was giving off heat 🥵 luckily there was a large sash window to open..

- Farmerswife100 (8/5): Nice visit, would return. - A lovely hotel, we went for a two night break. Our room, although dated, was very quiet and the bed was most comfortable. Bathroom adequate, just missing a magnifying mirror for makeup which I found frustrating. It’s the first hotel I have stayed in which didn’t have this! Rather disappointed with our check in as we were not informed about where anything was, ie restaurant, pool, or even our room! The check in process could be vastly improved and we could have been made to feel much more welcome than we were. We also had to ask about reserving a table for dinner which is normally something always raised upon check in. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food is excellent, although a little pricey. A good wine selection too. The bar area is nice with an open fire, although service could be a bit slow. Very good cooked breakfast, although continental choice is a little limited.

- michellepW8374EV (6/5): Pretty Exterior, Underwhelming Experience Behind the Scenes. - We checked in early and were pleased to find the internet and facilities were good. The location itself is lovely, and the grounds are very well presented, which made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the room didn’t live up to that standard. The shower had visible mould, so we didn’t use it, and the room overall felt very dated. The bathroom shown on their website is certainly not what we had ours was old, tired, and, as mentioned, had mould. There were small pots of shampoo and body wash, but a note saying “do not take” felt unnecessarily rude, especially given the price of the stay. We booked a table for dinner at 6:30pm. While the food itself was good quality, the service was disappointing. We were left for long periods, no one explained the specials or soup of the day, and we had to call a waiter over to ask basic questions. Breakfast was included and again the food was good. The service at breakfast was much better, although the waitress was clearly rushed off her feet. Meanwhile, the manager stood observing with a very grumpy demeanour and didn’t offer any support to the staff. When asked what we wanted to drink, we requested a latte, only to be told it was an additional charge and not included in the bed and breakfast rate. For a stay costing £180–£200 a night, this felt very poor. Overall, the setting and food were positives, but the outdated room, mould, inconsistent service, and unwelcoming touches let the experience down.

- Helen (9/5): Lovely hotel let down by unusable EV chargers. - Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Good food. An excellent spa. Pleasant room. We chose this hotel largely on the basis that it had EV chargers. They didn't work during our stay and although staff were helpful in their attempts to resolve the problem they had no knowledge of what was required. For example trying to read a QR code off the charger at night when there is no lighting is close on impossible! Fundamentally they had installed Porsche chargers on the basis their initial costs would be met by Porsche without any idea how drivers would use them. The best chargers are the easiest to use - just taking a regular debit card without the need to download apps which simply try to sell you a Porsche!

Comfortable lounge and bar area serving snacks and light lunch . Staff very helpful snd friendly Our room overlooked stables and exercise area for the horses, really fascinating to see the activity in the yard and the horses being exercised . Evening menu not to our liking ( we had to have Sausage and mash) as only choice for us. Sadly we couldn’t enjoy this lovely dining room the second night for this reason

The Hotel had everything we wanted, we visited the pool and sauna, the bar, restaurant and enjoyed breakfast for two mornings. Everything was exceptional. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was amazing. Also the location was excellent as we walked to the town centre. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was out of action on one day of our stay.

- Nicola (10/5): Amazing experience, we will be back - The staff were amazing and so friendly. Two members were very knowledgeable about the Dalmatian painting. Excellent food and very helpful. That you put the cuddly toy on our bed and we couldn’t take it home.

- BrerBaby (4/5): Nice and clean but lacked atmosphere and facilities - Lovely, clean and modern but lacked atmosphere and facilities to the point we got quite bored towards the end. The pool was luke warm but then the saunas were unbearably hot. The outdoor hot tub jets were only half working and again the water was luke warm. We had a massage each but it was probably the worst we have ever had as they were way far too gentle.

- David (7/5): overall staff were very helpfull - breakfast was fab and dinner was super, the room 233 could of had another window to look out. the shower door was jarring every time you closed it and I was not impressed with the cracked tile as you entered the bathroom as this was sitting proud and could easily cut the underneath of someone's foot.
- Lindsay (9/5): - We had a wonderful stay. only 2 minor issues, our breakfast orders were wrong on both days but quickly rectified. 7 of us booked to stay to celebrate burns night in the Hotel. Sadly, our table was situated in the lower part of the dining room. were were unable to see the Haggis being piped in nor did we see the piper and only 4 of us could see the 'address to the haggis. this was the highlight of this night and although were were there- we missed it all!

- Annie (8/5): Lovely hotel would definitely recommend :) - Lovely big room, comfortable bed, great bathroom. Excellent facilities - spa and health centre. Easy parking and easy location to get to. No fan in the bathroom so very steamy. Breakfast room was way too crowded the tables were basically stacked next to each other, some very close to the food counter. Just seems a completely inappropriate space to host breakfast if you don't have enough room to seat the guests comfortably? Prices at the restaurant for dinner were very expensive so we ate elsewhere.

- Erica (9/5): Perfect stay, meet all our expectations. - We loved the hotel, the restaurant and the spa. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The bedroom was too hot for us and we were unable to turn the temperature down any further than what it was set at.

- Pauline (4/5): Unsettling - Breakfast facilities were lacking room was small and toiletries were poor half empty and had to pay for a tooth brush the Jockey rooms are far more Superior not able to check in till 3 and out of room for 11 considering the amount of money you charge I feel it’s poor being disabled I wonted to chill in my room but had to wait 2 hours for my room what recommend this Hotel As above poor for the price very disappointed ☹️

Staff and facilities were awesome! - Breakfast excellent, room excellent, lunch dinner ok, room excellent Though lunch and dinner menu and quality was ok. Staff, outdoor area and everything else surpassed my expectations. I chose to drink there but eat out.
- Lottie (4/5): Used to love Bedford lodge not sure I would return after this - Rooms were clean -didn’t have robes in room or slippers when we asked they only gave us robes -pool was gross had flies floating in it and floating debris. Had to get out as it was gross -breakfast was shocking was given raw eggs and had to wait 40 minutes for our coffees and asked 3 times for them -people had to wait for tables for breakfast when there were empty tables they just weren’t cleaned
