Guest Reviews
- Torres (1/5): Worst overall experience I wish I would have doubled back and not stayed here roach infested ugh - No breakfast they did advertised coffee but no coffee either do not stay here wouldn't wish this on no one not even my worst enemy TV did not work there was roaches in my room and I got switched into a room that was not what I had booked terrible experience staff wasn't very helpfull did not even bother to help out
- Jack (2/5): I had a roof over my head and a hot shower but will NEVER stay there again. - It had a bed. The water was hot in the shower. Broken light over bathroom sink didn't work and I couldn't read a book in the main room because the 2 lamps were extremely low wattage. Woke up in morning to see bugs on bathroom floor and bedroom floor unning for their lives.
- Christine (4/5): - The walls were pealing , it smells and some stain on welling was nasty and toliet just kept running
- michael (2/5): Worst Red Roof inn ever! - Beds and bathroom were okay Staff untrained. Charged us when
We showed proof of prepayment. Exterior and stairs and glass doors and windows dirty
- mark (2/5): - felt like it was section 8 housing , outside doors didnt close people sitting and smoking outside the entry doors , guys sleeping in chairs inside by ice machine , room stunk the worse hotel i ever stayed at
- Belinda (3/5): Tolerable for 2 nights but won’t stay again. - The room was not cleaned very well. The bathroom floor had dirt all over it, and the dresser had fingerprints and gunk all over the top of it. The bed was not comfortable. Only time we saw any staff was at the front desk, and he wasn’t overly friendly. We were woken up by loud noise outside our window and engines revving at midnight.
- Samantha (2/5): - Just don't do it. Save your money. I know it's budget and you get what you paid for but I've stayed in other places with a similar price that were decent. This one is easily the worst I've ever stayed at. While I can overlook the dented walls, cigarette burns in the blankets, and busted up lamp shades, it's hard to overlook the toilet not flushing, cold showers, power outages in half of my room, a roach on the wall, and my key not working. Not to mention that the staff didn't really seem to care. Again, I know it's budget but yikes.
- Anthony (10/5): - Wonderful
- Nicholas J (10/5): - It does smell like smoke in the hallways but thats about the only complaint. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I cannot say that about some properties I have visited and it is very meaningful when you're road tripping and tired.
- Frecia (2/5): - THIS hotel was nasty, customer service sucks and the hall place smells terrible
- John (9/5): -
- matt (4/5): Needs lots of repairs and maintenance. - Overall, the room itself was ok, and the room is fairly nice and well appointed. - Toilet not securely fastened to the floor, it rocks, and it shouldn't.
- No toilet paper holder on the wall, just a loose roll of toilet paper.
- The clothes hook in the bathroom is loose and falling off the wall.
- The bathroom hair dryer does not work. It seemed that the heating element was completely missing.
- Bent shower curtain rod.
- Light bulbs in the over-the-sink light were missing
- Bathroom Mirror is attached so low that a 6-ft tall person cannot look directly into the mirror and has to bend over.
- It took MANY minutes (maybe 5 minutes?) of running the water in the shower before hot water came out.
- There were a few small holes in the walls in the bedroom.
- Top of the dresser was pretty scuffed up.
- Stains from an old roof leak were seen in the ceiling panel, but there did not seem to be an active leak.
- For some reason, there was an ashtray in this non smoking room.
- The lamp shade on the bedside lamp was bent.
- Interior hallways need paint.
- Interior stairways look quite old.
- The front desk did not answer the phone when I called about the lack of hot water.
- maxine (10/5): - great staff, clean, quiet, comfortable
- Susan (1/5): Ewwwww - I called and the guy on the phone informed me that the room I rented had a strong cat urine odor so I cancelled my reservations
- Mauro (9/5): -
- Mark (5/5): Decent value - Location and price TV did not work. All the lamps did not have lightbulbs.
- Kelly (4/5): - Very smelly, does NOT look like the photos at all! Bathroom door was falling off the hinges, floor was dirty and tub didn’t drain.
- Dana (3/5): Unhappy. - Perfect location I called to make sure my room was still confirmed. I was told by the gentleman that answered the phone that the room I reserved was dirty but it was ok because he had another room that had 2 beds and it was a smoking room and it was on the third floor. I was ok with the fact that the room had two beds instead of one, I was not happy that the room was on the third floor with no elevator. Really was not happy that the room was a smoking room. I reserved a non smoking room.
- Danielle (6/5): - We were only there for about 10 hours mostly just to sleep, which is why we took a chance on this hotel. It’s fairly standard for a Red Roof Inn (think budget hotel!). The employees were very nice though and accommodating. The room wasn’t too bad, but could have been cleaner. The worst part was the smell from the hallway. We stuffed a towel under the door and opened the window; luckily that aired it out a bit or we would have had to leave.
- MATTHEW (2/5): - .
- MATTHEW (2/5): - Red paint and cans in walkway parking lot, mess, smell, no room ready, front desk gave me room that was taken already, walked in on people, dirty chairs with stains, tv not working properly, noisy people outside window smoking, for hours.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Location was nice...nice shower...convenient for elderly or semi handicapped people...Easy in and out...very simple room but equipped with all needed...Room smelled good and looked clean...We enjoyed it very much... More towels and wash cloths...directions for use of TV...Bad directions on GPS to find the Inn...Somewhat messy exterior...
- Jennifer (6/5): - Back door was open and not locked to public. Hallway smelled like smoke, garbage all around the outside property and parking lot.
- Livio (8/5): Messy lobby, but great stay. - The attention received at all moments was wonderful. I don't understand why the lobby looked so messy, maybe they were doing some work.
- Carl (2/5): Very poor - Extremely dirty. Transients apparently living on site.
Pet feces, everywhere.
- Geneveigh (4/5): - I booked myself a non-smoking room and was placed in a smoking room, complete with an ashtray on the table, burn holes in the bedding, and horrible smell.
The lock on my door had a bunch of masking tape all over it for some reason.
There was supposed to be in-room coffee…none.
I had to ring a buzzer twice then call in order to check out (this seems common lately..?)
Expedia keeps on disappointing me. This is the third booking in a row I’ve had issues with.
- Danny (10/5): - Great
- Heather (2/5): - Housekeeping allowed an uninvited person in my room and never once has houskeeping came in my room to clean and i have been here over a week. When i got in the show the second day i was her, there was urine in the bathtub and down the side. When i had house keeping bring up cleaner the guy said he works the desk and that it was me that pissed in the bathtub and his hotel staff definitely would not have left that there. He didnt take the dirty wash rag used to clean the tub. He left it in my sink. I still have a pile of towels laying at my door and i took out my trash once already and have 2 more bags at my door to take plus whatever is in the trash cans.i am very unpleased and honestly i think there are people staying here that know the wherabouts of my 2 missing children are.
- Danielle (8/5): - ...
- Diana (7/5): My stay - Location was great for my needs There was hair in the shower before I used it and there was trash from a cigar on the floor and was supposed to be non smoking room
- James (10/5): Great for price thanks ! -
- Jim (8/5): Very good -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient
- isaiah (2/5): - Dirty
- Vickie (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (4/5): - roaches. There were roaches - in the bathroom, and during the night, in the bed - I killed several, but didn't get them all. Overall the place is pretty run down and in poor condition. Guy at the front desk was super nice and helpful, but yeah, next time I'm spend a few dollars more for a place that's cleaner, newer, and without roaches.
- Colleen (1/5): Awful - Nothing No housekeeping, no clean linens, bugs 🪲in the room. Got locked in my room b/c it got swollen by the rain. Maintenance had to get me out, twice. I was told I would have a new room the next day, because the one they had was dirty. Never happened. When I left Wednesday night the desk asked me why I was leaving. I said I had no housekeeping or fresh linen. The front desk stated we can do that tomorrow. I also stated bugs were in the room. The hallway by the door had dirty shoe prints that were never mopped up. Please I want my money back. I was supposed to stay until Friday I left Wednesday night
- Cruz (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Beds can be alittle more stable and not so noisy
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Destine (10/5): - 10/10 recommended!!
- Thomas (6/5): Nice staff...not so nice stay - Staff was friendly and concerned Sink leaked all over clean towels and floor. Room smelled like smoke even though we paid for non-smoking. Dirty old mattress was leaning against wall in hallway. Disrespectful people was staying next room to us. They were extended stay guest. Played loud band instruments all night. We had to leave our bathroom fan on all night to block the sound. People should not be aloud to live in hotel rooms!
- Jerry (4/5): - Room next door had major problem with loud fan running all night, not sure about out safety. No one on duty when we went to check ou 6:45 am
- Vidal (1/5): Bad -
- Aaron (3/5): Poor -
- Angel (1/5): Disgusting - Price Room dirty, the bed was falling apart, and roaches coming out from under the bed
- Courtney (10/5): - The manager over the place I think his name was Josh was the nicest person! He really made the whole thing easy!
- William (1/5): Bad - Bugs in the room paint peeling floors sticky beds uncomfortable tv was broken
- Eli (5/5): Passable -
- Jerry (8/5): A basic Place. - Basic motel, with no pluses, a small room no frig or microwave. no reason le cost for what is provided.
- Rakeem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rakeem (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (9/5): Good stay. Have stayed there several times. - Was no breakfast
- Robert (4/5): Stay away - Its location. Cockroaches, no continental breakfast even though advertised, no staff availability with front desk room locked, room smelled of cigarettes and scary clientele.
- Maureen (7/5): Good -
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Location and price
Staff was accommodating but woudk have like to had room I paid for Non smoking rooms still smelled lien room
- Diane (2/5): - Dog friendly doesn’t have to mean stench of dog. The rooms were not clean, broken sink basin, sower in handicapped room leaked all over the floor, broken furniture and very seedy on the outside.
- Michael (6/5): - Paid thru Expedia. Had to pay again at property. Received room w monthly construction workers already in it (after carrying a dog up the spooky stairs). Owner showed up and gave me everything I was supposed to receive but was told was unavailable. Hmmm? Room was fine otherwise. Except I paid twice for it and getting in was enraging.
- Sarah (10/5): - Staff was kind and helpful. Receptionist noticed I was very tired and give me a bottom floor room close to the front. Able to park right outside the side door. Room is spacious and clean. TV works well. Climate control works well. I have to admit that I haven’t stayed at a RRI since I was paycheck to paycheck 20 years ago—now I am a 4 stars or more girl. Was desperate today b/c felt ill and could not drive anymore due to exhaustion, was an hour away from destination and just couldn’t make it. RRI saved me.
- Frommeyer (1/5): Overall bad experience at the hotel - The location was pretty good. It was near a hike I was going on and right next to a Dunkin’ Donuts and some other food joints. The location was not clean especially the bathrooms and the staff were not attended. I had to wait 2 1/2 hours to check out in the morning because there was no one there so eventually left.
- elisabethb921 (2/5): Go somewhere else ………….you get what you pay for……. - This is the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel as I am a traveling healthcare worker. The first 2 stays were fine even though the first morning I saw a rat outside in the street. I was like okay not in hotel I should be good. The are a LOT of long term people who actually live at this hotel. And a lot of noise in the evening. They congregate in one room and play music loud.
Well my 3rd stay I get to the hotel get checked in go to my room and there are roaches crawling down the wall in the bathroom I immediately turned around and went to the front desk. They tried to put me in another room but as a single women there was no way I would have gotten a good nights sleep. The gentleman at the front desk got on the phone with the owner/manager Yash and he said that I could go to the sleep inn down the street another hotel that he owns or manages. So off to sleep inn I go.
I get to the sleep inn and she was on the phone with Yash she gets ready to check me in and gives me an amount ALMOST 200.00 more than what I would of paid at Red Roof so when I questioned why I wasn’t getting the same rate and then on top of that they wanted to charge me a pet fee bc I had my dog. I questioned as too why he knew what happened I should be not paying a different amount for being inconvenienced. So then because I was asking too many questions he then told the clerk that I was not welcome there at all.
They’re lost I was going to be there for 26 weeks. Yash if you are the same man who lives at the red roof inn in the room by the lobby you could have least came out and spoke with me directly. Your hotel has roaches and no one seemed the least bit surprised. As a matter of fact I am sure someone is sleeping in the same room they tried to give me as I am typing this.
- Nancy (10/5): - Have liked ref roof and especially the no fee for a pet
- John (2/5): - No hot water.man at the front desk was very rude.refused to refund us our money.beds where very uncomfortable.
- Henry (8/5): Very good -
- Pettie (8/5): Very good -
- Plutarco (2/5): - Noises all night and next morning, nobody was in the reception to dropping off the card!!
- Theodore (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - You get what you pay for at this hotel. Bare minimum. The hotel is not a clean place. You will find roaches and the smell is pretty bad. Good lucking getting clean linen.
- Anthony (2/5): - I checked in and the guy was very nice that checked me in. I went to my room started to get settled in and took a shower and I came out and found to Cockroaches walking acosss the fridge one on the desk and returned back to bathroom to have found another one. I gathered up my stuff and went to the front desk. I asked the guys for a full refund due to me having roaches in my room. I went to show him my video I took and he said no need to show me and advised he would do the full refund. I felt like he knows they have a roach issue due the fact he was so quick to offer my money back.
- Milton (3/5): Poor -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible service, unclean and contains bed bugs - I do not recommend staying at this hotel. The front staff was not very hospitable...it took a while for someone to come out to check us in and we werent able to speak to anyone to check out. The entire facility had a horrible smell of drugs (ie marijuana). The staff cleans the rooms and bangs doors in the middle of the night, which makes sleeping difficult if you are a light sleeper. And most importantly...our sheets were dirty...there were stains on the pillows and sheets and appeared to be crumbs in our bed. During my stay, I incurred numerous bug bites, which after some research, i discovered are from bed bugs. I had found what appeared to be exoskeletons of bugs under the matress cover on the bed. The bites are so bad and causing a rash all over my arms, back and ankles. I would never stay here, unless you like the smell of pot and being eaten alive by bugs.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (2/5): We appreciate the staff for being accommodating, but the motel is in much need of repair. - What breakfast? It was not included. The motel was dirty, in need of repair, and smelled like cooking food and chemicals.
- Snapkrackle (8/5): Decent night s rest - Travelling from Florida back up to NE, tired so decided to stop for night in PA . There were a few motels to choose from so we decided on the popular Red Roof Inn. Our room was good sized and nicely clean. We were a bit intimidated by the handicapped shower. The drain actually keeps up with the shower water and dosent flood the place???
Not in the mood to find out, so only one more days travel so we ll skip it. No breakfast here, no coffee set up in room either😞. Missed that, coffee in lobby but I prefer decaff. DD near by though. Good access to interstate. However our early leaving was for naught as big rigs bumped & spilled load all over, one hour wasted. Not RRI fault though. Decent experience all told.
- Darryl (7/5): Not clean, repairs needed! - The location was very convenient to everything I wanted. The price was decent. Not very clean. The place needs alot of repairs.
- Diane (4/5): Disappointing -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Red Roof Inn - Everything was good. Would stay here again. Very good value. The only thing I would improve is that it is nice to get an itemized bill at checkout to remit to your employer.
- Paul (6/5): - Fine value for price
- benpF5384HD (8/5): Superior King Room -- Good Fit for Travelers with Small Dog (pet stays free) - We booked a Superior King room at Red Roof Inn for 5 nights as we moved out of our home in Chambersburg after selling it. We were surprised by how comfortable the king bed was, over a hundred TV channels on DirecTV with free HBO, microwave for popping popcorn, mini-refrigerator tall enough for a 1/2 gallon milk container, strong water pressure in a modern bathroom, and vinyl floors that are easy to keep clean. We have a cute little 20-pound doggie, and we were pleased that other visitors had similar friendly, fury pets. Even though this motel is only 200 yards from I-81, it is fairly quiet in the room. Great location with many restaurants, grocery stores, laundry mats, gas stations, and similar useful vendors nearby. This Superior King room at Red Roof Inn in Chambersburg fit our needs so well that WE BOOKED AN ADDITIONAL WEEK here before heading to Myrtle Beach, SC for the winter.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verified traveler (10/5): great deal - Great for the money. 2nd time there.
- Juanita (1/5): Bad -
- julia_fisher (6/5): On our way home - Everywhere we go smells like pot. We walked in the lobby the pot smell was so strong and gross. Aside from that the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. And the price was right, and got very good reviews. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. Water pressure was fantastic. Very modern bathroom only a shower. Perfect for a one night stay.
- Travis (2/5): "I'm sorry you didn't make me aware of your arrival." -front desk clerk - Eventually it was a place to sleep Waiting almost an hour for the clerk to check us in.
Poorly renovated rooms.
- celticgirl16 (10/5): Very nice hotel - We stay at the Red Roof in Chambersburg PA on our trip up the east coast to NY. We have stayed here SLOT and highly recommend this hotel. Staff is so very friendly, especially Jay at the front desk. The rooms are always clean😊. The price is always reasonable as well.
- Kim (8/5): Very good - No coffee or breakfast. The coffee maker was down.
- Mary (6/5): Pleasant - Clean Need of repair. Paint pealing, mold in bathroom, dirty furniture
Luggage cart is small.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Kathy (7/5): Good - Large room Location and upstairs
- Rhonda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeff (1/5): Bad - Friendly staff Cochroaches in room. Poor lighting, uncomfortable bed
- Ruth (4/5): - Likes… bed was comfortable, area was quiet, safe… card key necessary for building entry, then into room, room was clean. Staff members were polite and helpful.
Dislikes.. the property is in major need of updates and repairs. The organization is cumbersome to say the least.
1. No elevators.. it was no problem for me but those who are handicapped.. this would be a major issue if an individual needing extra assistance was on second or third floors.
2. In order to get to your room, it was necessary to enter via doors outside and up steps. Again cumbersome for entry. It took a while to figure out how to navigate the building.
3 very funky/ bad smell on floors— from musty to” something is decaying “!. While this wasn’t the case in my immediate room area, I did not have to walk far on any floor long to experience a gagging sensation.
5. Overflowing dumpsters were in close proximity to the building entrance.. This gives the feeling of being in an unsafe, sleazy area.
6. No continental breakfast
I did consider checking out and staying elsewhere but I would have lost the $ 117–
- Demminger (9/5): Superb - Price. Close to restaurants. Floors looked dirty. But everything else was fine.
- David (4/5): Bed bugs - Service was pretty good but after checked into our room and got settled, we found a live adult bed bug on the bed. After looking further we found several dead ned bugs and other signs of bed bugs. When we informed the front desk they gave us a new room and that one appeared to be clean. Needless to say we were quite freaked out about it and petrified that we’d be bringing bed bugs home.
- Clark (7/5): Good -
- Alan (10/5): I will mark this one as a great place to stay - clean, conveniently located easy access to facilities.
- Chuck (8/5): - Room was adequate, no coffee, etc. walls had damage, not serious but something that should have been repaired.
- Ilene (8/5): Fine stay - Stopped midnight-ish in our traveling and Riraj, at the front desk was very nice.
Hotel has been recently renovated so was pleasant and comfortable. Area around hotel looked a little sketchy, but on the whole was safe and quiet
