- cheryshr (4/5): Don’t have high expectations for cheap crap that costs more than it’s worth - Don’t get me wrong, there are worst places to stay in a crunch. You can get a cheaper deal through a booking site that is a more adequate price for the crap quality of the place. Front desks ladies primarily speak Spanish, so they tend to help as little as possible for anything. No wifi. Breakfast area that doesn’t serve food or drinks. Pretty sure nothing gets cleaned there. Stains everywhere in the room, especially brown stains on the towels, chair, and sheets. Stiff hard full sized beds, two pillows, top sheet with either a fleece blanket or a thin padded blanket with some crap thin colored over sheet. Sink handle completely came off in our bathroom when you turned it on. The bathroom felt so unclean. Glass and dirt pieces just sitting around all the corners. Items just on the ground show it wasn’t cleaned. Mini fridge didn’t even work. Hair dryer was missing, only a holder for what once was. No peep hole cover. There was tissue shoved in an open hole. Some Super Eights are fine. You wouldn’t expect all too much, but there are a few things I do expect when it’s stated in the prices of the room.
- jdm605 (6/5): Okay for me but not for many. - This place was fine for me traveling alone with few requirements for a place to sleep but I would not recommend it for most people. The place is old and in need of many improvements. I have stayed at this place numerous times over the past 10 or so years and it is not getting better. I would not want my adult daughters staying here. Strong marijuana smell the moment you walk in and in the halls. Bathtub had chips and cracks on the bottom of the tub. No breakfast is available although the website advertises it. Employee at the front desk was pleasant and courteous. This is about the minimum in acceptability that I would knowingly stay at.

Yes the rate was good for the weekend on a short notice but the room wasn’t great - The location was okay as we were going back and forth from the mid America center all weekend. The whole weekend it smelled like weed which is not appreciated at all with having kids stay on the property. The pictures showed a microwave in the room but it didn’t and the breakfast options were cereal, bread, milk, oj and coffee. So yes it was provided but VERH limited on options. The room was also on the dark side despite the lights on. Also the bathroom sick was really hard and kept making the counter wet so we couldn’t actually put anything on the counter itself or it would get wet anytime we washed our hands.

- Aaron (2/5): - I first off, never complain about properties, especially super eight because I am pretty much prepared to pay for what you get, but this instance, having issues with the air and the air quality and the cleanliness of the facilities was beyond unsafe I’ve taken several photos of the black mold coming out of the AC unit That only worked a small amount at a time which I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing because I had to choose whether I wanted nowhere at all or air that was gonna be blowing black mold, spores around the room I then took notice right away of the shower area, which had a ton of mold, black mold all around the whole bottom perimeter of where the shower base in the shower Units connect when they’re installed this to me is basic neglect of something that is a very easy thing to take care of, and I don’t know how it’s possible for someone to walk into a unit like that and not see this type of stuff and think that it’s OK to allow gas to stay there. Like I said I get that these type of places are not the greatest and are affordable for a lot of people, but there’s a level that needs to be addressed of what’s acceptable to allow people to pay for even on a smaller scale. I have allergies, and these types of things are extremely unsafe. I did point us out to the gentleman who I believe is the manager or the top person in charge and he did say that it was going to be addressed, but upon asking him to please come up there and look at conditions. NO. Refused

- NickfromOz (6/5): Firey Encounter in Council Bluffs - The hotel was a bit ordinary to say the least but at least the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were fairly clean and the bed was ok, it had a microwave and fridge. but no coffee maker. It did have coffee on offer providing you were ok with powered products. Whilst I was there, they had a fire caused by an electrical fault and the hotel was evacuated and people were not allowed re-entry for several hours. the occupants of one complete floor were relocated to another hotel, no offer of transportation for people without a vehicle. Additionally, whether or not the fire was the hotels fault no compensation offered for the inconvenience of the event.

Im on oxygen full time so its not very easy to get around. They dont have a elevator and i have a hard timer with stairs so I couldnt change rooms sobI was miserable all night. The bathroom wasnt cleaned very well at all. Looks like they just put clean towels in there and called it a day

- ShaneW_12 (2/5): Just Don't - I rarely give a property 1 star, but this one was bad. Both the room and the common areas seem worn out. The room was not very clean. There was not a coffee maker. The hair dryer was missing, but there was still the little hanger for it on the wall. There seemed to be some illicit behavior, as people kept coming and going and meeting others at the edge of the parking lot. I will say that the location is nice. The morning clerk was also very polite, but there was not a "full breakfast" as the website advertised. The room rate was low, but you get what you pay for and here we did not get much. There are many options in the area, so I can't imagine staying here again.
- Clayton (2/5): Worst hotel room I have ever seen! - My friends and I arrived discovered several colored stains on the sheets and crusty matter on the blankets when it was time to go to sleep. Upon further inspection we found toenail clippings, used Q-tips, dead bugs smashed on the walls, and what appeared to be mold on the ceiling and all over the window curtains. We also found an entire plastic wheel cover/hubcap sitting in the corner of the room, which would have been impossible to miss if the room had any attention or cleaning service done. The room had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke despite being a posted no-smoking facility. We are also fairly confident we witnessed drug deals in the parking lot. Upon explaining our issues with the room to the front desk attendant, we were told nothing could be done since we did not report the issues within an hour of checking in. Without being able to get another room or even get clean sheets, we decided to check out and ended up sleeping 4-deep in a Camry because we all felt it would be safer, cleaner, and more comfortable. I’ve attempted to call the customer support line but the automated answering service will not accept my reservation number or put me through to an actual human. The manager of the specific Super8 we stayed at was supposed to contact me, but he has not, nor has he answered my phone calls. This is without a doubt the worst experience I have had at any place of business and there is no possible way our room at this hotel passed any sort of regulations or inspection.
