Guest Reviews
- Karen (10/5): - Wonderful place with very friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room and great food.
- Cormac (6/5): Breakfast good but evening meals were bad with a small choice expensive for what it was - Location and parking Rooms are tiny . I had booked a slightly bigger room on booking.com but I didn’t get it. A staff member told me that it was Booking. Coms fault and that I should have booked directly with them.
- Michael (7/5): - Extremely convenient location for visiting friends and the town centre Room and bathroom very small and cramped
- Diane (8/5): Great location with on site parking and very nice restaurant including v professional customer service. - Great location, very good restaurant, onsite parking Lots of stairs to climb up and down to get to room. Toiletry offerings a bit limited. Suggested tip for restaurant 12.5% on pay machine. 10% with choice to add more would be more appropriate.
- Jason (1/5): - No comment at this time.
- Paul (9/5): Great breakfast and comfy, well maintained rooms - Very pleasant stay and great breakfast. Curious policy about offering to give access into rooms early for a fee...when you turn up a couple of hours early to store bags when travelling by public transport. I can understand having a charge when you have asked the hotel to supply the room earlier than the advertised availability in advance...but never been faced with this approach previously. I didn't accept the invitation but surprised it was made.
- Neil (8/5): - Proximity to centre and parking bar area is pleasant
- Peter (1/5): Terrible room do not stay here. - Not much Tiny room which was advertised as a double. Bathroom that you couldn’t turn round in. Over bath shower with no mixer tap. All furniture old and dirty. Sagging mattress.
- Ian (7/5): -
- Garton (7/5): ok - being charged for parking
- Darren (9/5): -
- Bermuda Girl (9/5): Comfy Beds - Great staff. Safe place for bikes. Walking distance to grocery shops. Very comfy beds and sheets.
- Kelly (9/5): -
- Natalia (10/5): Very pleasant. Recomend! - Being a tall person at reception my room was changed without me asking to the one with the bigger bad. When flushing the toilet there is a specific noise. But that is understandable with the system the hotel has.
- Alberto (7/5): -
Viešbutis neturėtų to toleruoti, galimai reikia dūmų detektorių.
- Margaret (7/5): It meet our needs. - Breakfast was brilliant, bed was comfortable. Distance to room.
- Lexine (8/5): Will definitely stay here again. Staff are very friendly and the rooms were always clean. - Staff were lovely and very happy to help with any of my requests. Room was very clean and comfortable. Has a fridge which is really useful.
- Noel (7/5): A comfortable stay in Taunton - I thought the staff were really lovely and made me feel welcome The stairs! Maybe one floor too high.

- Paul (8/5): -
- James (10/5): - Friendly staff . Room nice and clean . Not much i didn't like
- Vickie (8/5): - Lovely hotel, conveniently located, quiet and clean. They left an Easter egg for us which was a nice touch! N/A

- M1292XFalisonb (10/5): Lovely stay at The Corner House Hotel - We were welcomed by Ellie who was polite and helpful. There was the offer of help to carry bags etc and room service was provided later with lovely food brought tomorrow rooms. Beds were very comfortable with great pillows. Breakfast was lovely with good choices.
- Micheal (5/5): Nice hotel, but the neighbourhood was terrible. - This hotel is a lovely heritage building and is maintained to a high standard. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was very nicely presented. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town centre, but the area is very run down and we didn't feel safe walking home. There was an encampment by the side of the road with a number of aggressive, drunk men. That spoiled the experience, because the hotel itself was lovely and the restaurant that we went to was too.
- Lisa (3/5): - Not much -
- Beverley (10/5): -
- Mr Kevin (1/5): - Staff very friendly Wife is disabled no lift to the higher floors she ended up having to stay in room most of the time as. Stairs were to much
- Gordon (9/5): - Quick and easy booking in and good parking. A very good breakfasts.
- Nicola (9/5): Would definitely visit again in a different room away from the boiler - Staff super friendly We didn’t get a good sleep due to the boiler
- Lesley (9/5): Comfortable relaxing stay with great food - Breakfast excellent in variety & quality Nothing
- Sergio (9/5): -
- Carlo (7/5): Very nice and helpful staff - Great location for town centre
- 919fayl (10/5): A quiet and peaceful Hotel - My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay. The location was exactly right for us as it is near Musgrove Park Hospital. It is a lovely quiet and peaceful place. Our room was very clean and we loved it. We chose to have dinner and the food was lovely and so tasty. Breakfast was really good and the choice of fruit juices and more were readily available. Staff were polite and well mannered. Parking the car was no problem and we will definitely stay here again and also give people a thumbs up if they need a stay in Taunton. Well done to the staff.
- milsamags (8/5): Just wonderful! - The Hotel is a beautiful old building, plenty parking, and the decor inside is so in keeping with the character of the building. The bedroom had everything we required, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. It is situated in an area with easy access for walking into town.
- Keith (7/5): -
- Clapp (3/5): Rooms could be cleaner breakfast could have been better - The lovely maid on the front desk Breakfast was over cooked
- Olivia (10/5): - The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were attentive. A great stay would definitely book again. Nothing
- Margaret (10/5): -
- PollyG522 (10/5): Great find. - This is a nice hotel and it had everything we needed for our stay. The location is good, we thought it might be noisy from traffic, but we didn’t notice.
Our king size room was spacious, spotlessly clean, the bed very comfy. Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Parking is also available for a small fee.
It’s quite a quirky old building (a bit like us) and there’s no lift, but I phoned ahead and asked for and got a room with as few stairs as possible.
We would definitely stay there again
- Paul (9/5): 2nd time staying and will be back a 3rd - Nice quiet i deal to walk into town
Rien
- Debra (9/5): Lovely breakfast and gluten free options - Location Small rooms
- Heather (8/5): Comfortable stay with good breakfast and helpful staff. - The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The history of the hotel is interesting and this is reflected in the design of the building. We enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again. We hadn't realised we would be charged for parking, although it was a small amount. Some aspects of the bedroom were a little dated, such as the lighting and the shower, but everything worked, so it wasn't an issue.
- 824claret (8/5): Lovely hotel with excellent food - Lovely hotel,.friendly, welcoming and professional staff.
The Sunday roast dinner was perfect and the breakfast was beautifuly cooked
- Paul (8/5): Good hotel but needs a bigger bed - Restaurant excellent re staff, food quality, price and surroundings Bed very small and not conducive to good night's sleep
- Taitem (9/5): -
- Keith (8/5): Value for money in a cosy hotel with very friendly and efficient staff👍👍👍 - Pleasant, clean surroundings
Lovely friendly staff
Reasonable parking charge
Fantastic Sunday roast and breakfast The batteries in the remote for the telly needed replacing. Thats all🙂
- Coull (8/5): - The food
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant stay - Great location easy to get to the shops
- David (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent Bed too soft
- H2127YIdavidt (8/5): Ok. Check what room your given - Room was clean tidy.. the hotel has character.. however we had a room right at the top and my other half getting over a knee replacement and a long climb.
Its an old building and no lifts.. make sure you know what room your having if yiu have issues
- Rosie (10/5): Will stay again - Staff was very clean , & helpful Nothing at all
- Mark (7/5): Definitely a great place to stay; just be aware of the slightly outdated and bureaucratic facilities - The room was fine, with spotlessly clean bedding and facilities and a very comfortable bed. The evening meals were tasty, the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a good buffet breakfast, with cooked food prepared fresh, which was very tasty. The location is a little away from the town centre and other facilities. The heating in the room was very hot and difficult to control. You have to pay £5 per night for car parking, which was unexpectedly not included in the price, since it was not made clear in advance. It was also quite a rigmarole finding a place to park and on leaving the car park, you have to use a token to get out, which was easily and regularly forgotten. You have to pre-order any cooked food for breakfast the previous evening, specifying the ingredients wanted and the exact time to eat.
- SPCuts (10/5): Great place - Always love staying at the corner house. Staff r so welcoming and atmosphere is great. Rooms are always lovely and clean and beds r so comfortable . Location is great everything is within walking distance. Will definitely stay again
- Janet (10/5): Clean & comfortable with very good food. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and most importantly, our bed was large and comfortable. All the staff we met were polite and helpful. We have a Ford Fiesta so we had no problem accessing the car park. We just had a cooked breakfast and the food was really nice. To be honest, we have debated this question and the only thing that would have bothered us would have been if we hadn't managed to park in the hotel car park.
- Graeme (9/5): - Good location for what we needed, great breakfast, good size room and a great meal in the restaurant in the evening. I think the £5 charge for parking is an unnecessary extra, the room rate was what I would expect for the hotel but the parking charge should be removed
- Guest (8/5): -
- Jemma (9/5): Great find and value for money - Very clean, great value for money, excellent breakfast and staff all very friendly and helpful.
- Janet (10/5): Will definitely return - Have stayed here several times, location excellent as close to relative. Lovely room, quiet & comfortable. Staff helpful & friendly. N/A
- Jones (9/5): -
- Emily (7/5): Pleasant stay and fine for somewhere to rest your head - Good sized room for one person & good facilities (tea/coffee, fridge, fan) Staff weren’t around much
- tony (10/5): Really good friendly staff and good location great breakfast - Everything Nothing not to like
- conchitac514 (10/5): Excellent stay - We have stayed at The Corner House Hotel many times over the years, and it continues to impress us on every visit. Its location is excellent, just a short distance from the town centre, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. The staff are always warm, friendly, and eager to help, which really adds a personal touch to the experience. The rooms are consistently very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a relaxing space to unwind. It’s a place we always look forward to returning to and would happily recommend to others.

- Lee (10/5): - It was all good It was all good
- Jane (8/5): I am looking forward to staying again soon. Thank you everyone! - Staff were lovely! Very helpful nothing was too much trouble.
Great breakfast and dinner.
Comfy bed and good sized bathroom. The walls are thin, my neighbour snoring! virtually all night! 🤣
And the stairs, I did struggle going up with my bags, but that cannot be helped.
If I’m being picky, I would have liked to have opened the window but I couldn’t reach it and I wasn’t going to climb on the table.
- Pastylovers (10/5): Super Corner house Hotel. - What a beautiful stay at this lovely Hotel, everything really was awesome.
From the moment we arrived we were treated superbly , all the staff were very polite and helpful, ( Carlos was great) nothing was too much trouble and my wife and I felt so welcome.
The room was very comfortable and clean, the food was exceptional , ( compliments to the Chef’s ) the Hotel as a whole is stunning, even the location is perfect.
We will most definitely return in the future.
A massive thank you to all at The Corner House Hotel.
- OLuwatosin (8/5): nice hotel with good breakfast - the breakfast was good. read about it online and it met my expectation
- Michael (10/5): - all good nothing
- Mark (7/5): good - breakfast size of room
- Matthew (7/5): -
- DaveMartin1991 (9/5): - A warm welcome from staff, Hotel was clean and well decorated. The food was excellent and very good value as they did an option for 2 & 3 courses with a set menu. Rooms were clean and spacious. The room I was in the shower was in the bath, You also had to pay for parking. The car park was at the back of the hotel and extremely tight to get in and out if you have an SUV or van.
- Melvyn (9/5): - very good breakfast
- S6579BEpaulg (8/5): Great hotel in a good location - A bit fancy for my needs, but I’m on foot. :) Good breakfast and a comfortable room. Staff very pleasant and the dining area was large and had plenty of room to move around. Great building and easy parking area if needed.
- Peter (7/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): Would stay again - Staff & food Bedroom a little on the small side

- John (6/5): -
- Kerry (5/5): Won’t stay agani - Pleasant staff
Nice building
Good restaurant Musty smelling room - opened windows and had to sleep with fresh air coming in - but noisy road
Not great for seasoned traveller no shelves by bed. Can »t plug phone on by bed. One side of bed against the wall.
No lift à problem if you have joint issues.
No milk left for coffee. No water in room.
TV very small
- codie (10/5): Worth every penny - The bed was comfortable so had a really nice sleep, the staff were amazing on checking in aswell N/A
- johannew647 (8/5): Good value break - Convenient location in the centre of Taunton. Helpful friendly staff. The food was delicious and good value.
- Delph (9/5): Lovely -
- CVBH4 (10/5): Excellent restaurant (part of hotel) in central Taunton. - I'm really writing about the restaurant rather than the hotel. We ate here Sunday evening - superb food, hot plates, outstanding service, reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere. Can't believe I didn't know about it before.
- walkel (10/5): Very pleasant hotel. Very helpful, pleasant, friendly staff. Good value, especially if you book directly. Good location. - I chose this hotel as it is within easy walking distance of my daughter's house. It is also within easy walking distance of town, with the station a bit further on. I arrived by train. I was a late booking, so took the remaining room, a Super King. This was roomy and very comfortable, particularly the bed. The staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful. The Receptionist kindly carried my heavy case up stairs. There is no lift. I was in the Annexe. Very clean and quiet, in spite of it being slightly back from a busy main road. The stay was good value at £445 for 4 nights including a freshly cooked breakfast. Time and content chosen the night before. Please note that the breakfast is only included if one books direct with the Corner House. Online the Booking sites all come up first, so I found direct booking less obvious to find. The evening meals were of a high standard, with a good choice, and reasonably priced, with the option of two, (selected), Courses for just over £20, plus service charge. Children's Menu also available for £12. Ample food, two Courses, enjoyed by my granddaughter. The dining room has a pleasant atmosphere. Interesting building.
- Compass55444632683 (8/5): Stay with friends - Great location, easy walk into town centre, excellent staff who are all friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a bit of a throwback either lovely touches around the place, ok, it could go with a few updates it’s an old building with the inherent problems and charm you get with these types, but it’s not something to put you off.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, rooms are ok too, some are next to the road which may impact you if you’re a light sleeper. One gripe was the curtains in our room weren’t fitted as best they could.
Overall well worth the money for a stay.
- James (8/5): Very clean room, great breakfast, exceeded expectations. - Excellent breakfast. Booked the day before and cooked to order with only cold items in a buffet. Some corridor floorboard creaking but to be expected in an older, character property.
- Carol (8/5): Ideal for a short stay in Taunton - Excellent restaurant and bar with first-class staff. Good location. Lighting in bedroom a bit harsh.
- Bea (9/5): - The staff were so friendly and helpful. The position of the hotel was ideal especially if you had no car. The food was excellent.i found I had difficulty working out how to use the hot water part of the shower but that is only minor.
- lornaw439 (10/5): A comfortable stay with excellent food - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and clean and had everything we needed. The food was excellent in both presentation and flavour and well-priced. The hotel is well positioned for visiting Taunton and we would highly recommend.
