Guest Reviews
- Ariana (10/5): -
- Daisy (10/5): Under construction. Rooms are nice and smell good. - The room was spacious and smelled really good. They are currently renovating so everything smells like Pinewood. It smells amazing. I thought the blanket was really thin, and I was cold at first. But then the staff brought a second blanket right to my door. I was cozy and warm
- Bryant (5/5): -
- Jose (10/5): Listo - Todo esta bien Todo esta bien
- bo (10/5): -
- Antwain (10/5): -
- Beckie (6/5): - The property looks like they are trying to update, but there is still work to be done. The Room we stayed in, the AC was had a constant drip noise, and the thermostat didn't work properly, and the toilet seat was broken. Even though the ad said there was breakfast, there was not anything set out when we left at 8:30 am.
- Tammy (10/5): - Friendly staff, room was excellent
- Tammy (8/5): - The only issue i had was the holder for removal shower head was upside down and the water shot up instead of down. This made taking a shower difficult because i had to hold the shower head in my hand the whole time. I also should of brought a hair dryer, that ammenity was not in the room.
- Ivy (8/5): - Deeply appreciated my stay!
- Jesse (6/5): - Our bed spread had stains all over it. Could not lock the window in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Maurice (5/5): Not interested - Nothing Not conford
- Renee (2/5): Very poor - The smell was awful and possibly bedbugs because I have bites all over my body
- Bruce (2/5): - Property is not at all kept up. Plywood nailed to outside of building, all furnishings are ether broken down or very old. There was absolutely no one else at this hotel at all. The area and the hotel felt very unsafe. We left and were able to find a hotel very close to my daughter's graduation 60 miles away.
- Jermaine (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hal (6/5): - I slept OK, the rooms toilet seat was held on by one bolt making it loose,
Dresser had one drawer that was not usable
I would not stay at Americas Best hotel again
- Victor (10/5): - Good place
- Sara (4/5): - Quick easy check in. Was a very brief stay with the uncomfortable bed and multiple bugs crawling around in bathroom. No one present at check out.
- Joseph (2/5): Do not stay here - The check in clerk was extremely rude and there was bed bugs in the room
- Rocio (2/5): - Confusing situation when checking in, not very kind staff. Room was filthy and smelled horrible.
- Edmundo (6/5): - Was there for work, had some issues but management took care of the problem right away.
- Patricia (4/5): - My room was not cleaned. The carpet needed to be vacuumed.
The room smelled.
- Erin (2/5): - Staff was helpful and responsive. We stopped in along our road trip, however we didn’t end up staying the night. The room was clean as far as washed linens and clean bathroom, however we noticed some bugs that made us uncomfortable. We were very kindly offered another room and chose to carry on down the road.
- Kye (2/5): Not happy - If I could get my money back for having to stay here i would. Room was filthy. Only one of the light fixtures had a light bulb in it. Toilet was clogged when I got there. The floor in the bathroom was weak and I could feel it sagging when i stood on it. Worst of all its WAY OVER PRICED. $110!!!?
- Juan (6/5): - Smells bad
- Jesse (8/5): Beardstown Americas Best Value - Location and staff were friendly. There was dust along the base board on the floor.
- Douglas (4/5): - Not very clean but what bothered me the most was the toilet wasn't attached to the floor and rocked like crazy
- Miguel (2/5): - there was cockroaches in the mini fridge the sheets has some stains in it
- Nathan (2/5): - Hotels.com didn’t have our date correct. The pool was out of order. Rooms smelled of mildew. Place looked run down. For the price I paid I stayed at way fancier hotels!
- Crystal (1/5): Bad -
- Crystal (2/5): - Jus nasty
- Alan (4/5): - Property going through renovation
- Paul (4/5): - Room was dirty when we arrived. Toilet seat was broken. I had to fix the toilet myself. Microwave didn’t work in the other I had. Never go there again
- Nathan (2/5): Not a place I would stay at again. - The rooms were filthy and in disrepair. Wallpaper pealing in the bathroom. Fixtures falling apart. The room wasn't cleaned. There was a bug (assumed roach) squashed on one of the walls. I know this isn't a 5 star hotel, but I think expecting the rooms to be clean and in good order is something that should be expected. After seeing the condition of the rooms, we refused to stay. The hotel refused to give a refund since it was booked on hotels.com and hotels.com couldn't give a refund because they said the hotel refused. Overall the worst hotel experience I've had so far.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Yuck ! - The hotel on the out side was nice but the room was hot the remotes control didn’t work and there was dead dry bugs everywhere.
- Gustave (6/5): Real is rare - Not to good need to clean better and provide clean sheets
- Cecilia (2/5): - Dirty sheets Pool is permanently closed no breakfast roaches!
- James (8/5): - problem with room I requested but manager solved the problem in good manner.
Advertised as having free breakfast - DID NOT OFFER BREAKFAST
room clean and nice but I did find a bug crawling the wall
- dennismC8884HE (2/5): D.R.M. - We stayed at this Motel 1 nite and woke up in the morning with BEDBUGS on our pillows !!!! BEWARE-BEWARE Upon lifting mattress and box spring of bed frame to check underneath it revealed dirt with white powder sprinkled all around the frame -obviously for bug treatment !! Please be aware it is not a place you want to stay !
- Francisco (5/5): cheaper but unsatisfactory - convenient distance to work. room, linen smelled old
- scott (8/5): - great place to go. close to the area i needed
- Jihad (1/5): disgusted with your hotel and service. - Poor service and the worst experience I ever have had with a hotel employee. I had reservations and the hotel employee was terribly rude and nasty.
- Murf (1/5): Bad - Reserved room a month in advance there was no room available when we got there had to drive to Jacksonville IL to find a room
- Bill (4/5): Disappointing - property was not clean. No towel bar. brackets were broken. one wash cloth. No maid service in five days. their excuse was short handed. I told them I paid full price and expect full service. ☹️
- patrick (10/5): - Nice staff
- Maria (6/5): Decent night's stay - Decent stay, the pool was out of order. Needs a bit of updating. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- Kim (2/5): - Bathroom ceiling was leaking water from the room above. Didn't have another room and wouldn't call or help find another place to stay. Worst hotel on a 30 day trip
- scott (8/5): - convient for our needs
- Porshae (8/5): - My kids and I enjoyed our stay here, the comforters sucked that’s about it, however the mini fridge was great and the microwave was great.
- Christina (6/5): - The staff was very nice at the desk and the price is great. Our room had a new showerhead and the hot water in the morning is awesome. A major disappointment was the lack of any type of continental breakfast whatsoever.
- Michelle (2/5): - I stayed for 2 nights. The first morning I woke up with welts on my arms & face, chalked that up to possible being allergic to the detergent they used for the bed sheets. I didn't say anything as I thought it was an allergic reaction. However when I woke up on my day of check out my arms had several more welts that were small & itchy. I showered & got the hell out of there. I sprayed my luggage down with bed bug spray & drove home & we directly to the laundromat.
The following day I notice my bites are still itchy & now I them between my fingers. These are reason I went to my local walk-in clinic where I was told that I had scabies.
I call the hotel to request a refund of my stay & was told that they weren't able to give me a refund.
I will continue to reach out to the hotel as well as make sure everyone knows about the infestation that refuse to do anything about.
- Jack (6/5): - Bathroom was clean rest of floor needed vacuuming, bed comfortable
- Enos (6/5): - Lack of cleanliness in the two rooms we booked, few towels in the shower.
- John (2/5): Nasty - Windows were broken, bed bugs present, other insects crawling on the walls and the employee was rude once we told them we were leaving to go to another motel.
- Leslie A (2/5): - Hotel wouldn't even honor our reservation. Showed desk personal my confirmation, said he didn't care. Very rude!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The area was quiet; a pleasant stay.
- Peter (6/5): - Just a very dated property that is need of updating. Our room was large but the whirlpool said it had no water. Pool was empty as well. Bed was comfortable. AC was pretty noisy as well.
- Kao (6/5): - The hotel was obviously older. The rooms and well place all together was pretty out dated. It was pretty clean (again for an older place). We did not have a microwave and when asked for one we were informed that there was a construction crew in town and they were all bejng used atm. My wife and i decided to splurge a bit and got the king suite w a jacuzzi tub. The water ran green for the firsy few fills. Which seemed to creep me.out worse than my wife so meh not thst bjg of a deal. It cleared up after running for a few. The owner did work with us by giving us about 20 bucks off for another night. Overall i would say 6 out of 10. Just really needs updating
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing positive. Not clean. Evening staff appeaered impaired. Coffee maker in room was not functional. Wont stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is need of an remodel/update.
- Charles (4/5): Pick somewhere else - The rooms are old and not very cleans. Prices listed in the room for items such as towel, curtains etc were insulting
- ernest (4/5): Not very good!😟 - Out of all our places we have stayed with Hotels.com this was the least desirable. Chair cushions were ripped and very dirty. Faucets had not been cleaned around. Sheets were subpar. Hair dryer broken. No remote. Definitely smelled pot smoke. Probably needs a thorough redo abs deep cleaning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was one of the best Inns I've ever stayed at. Clean rooms, fast check-in, good price, helpful staff, etc.
- Ryan (2/5): Do not stay here!!! - This hotel is nasty!!! The shower head had grime all over it. The red carpet was nasty. The bedside tables were wobbly and chipped. The TV was sitting on a long dresser with the dresser being chipped. The bed was squeaking with every move I made.
I came here after working a 12 hour shift as a travel nurse to be closer to my next job so I wouldn’t have a long drive in the morning. Definitely would have rather had a longer drive in the morning and stayed somewhere else. This hotel definitely needs an update!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - King size bed was very comfortable. Room was clean but when i turned on the heater it smelled like someone had peed inside the unit. The stench was terrible so it had to stay off. Traffic noise was bad on side that faces highway.
- Leslie (4/5): No heat! - Have used this hotel a few times before. It's older but rooms always seem clean. This time it was cold and rainy but our room had no heat!
- K9277DZpatricias (8/5): Great service 👏 - "Friendly people, rooms cleans, im not saying that is the best hotel but I think I would like to back again and I recommend it to my friends and they like it, I think is better than the other Motel in town.
- deerhunter (6/5): - older hotel , walls thin people out side early morning were noisy
bed and pillows good and clean
water temp hard to regulate not a lot of pressure
it was okay
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our room was very unclean. There was dirt all over the ground, blood on the sheets, and cobwebs/dead bugs all over the place.
- Wanda (10/5): - Everything was fine the only thing was that the room didn’t have toothpaste
- Lydia (10/5): - Good place to stay
- PANDA (2/5): - Pool was not even working. No hot water. Sink stopped working. Tub wouldn’t drain. Tried to rip me off. Bad management. Never again.
- Kevin (4/5): So so - It was okay to stay. But they do not serve continental breakfast anymore and also the main doors to the hotel are not locked at night.
- Trish (2/5): - There was no air conditioning in 95 degree temps complete misery
- Sarah (2/5): Disappointed - The door wouldn’t stay locked had them fix it but still broke. Towels were dirty. Said there was a pool but the pool was drained and blocked off. Police canvassing the hotel because of sketchy guests.
Will not stay at this hotel ever again.
- Chris (2/5): Terrible - Pool is permanently closed everything is old and uncared for
- S123a45m1869 (2/5): Waste of time booking a room! And scammed our credit card! - Guy isn’t friendly. Booked room 3 days in advance reserving with credit card and when we showed up owner says we don’t have a reservation and is booked up with no rooms at all so had to find alternate lodging for the weekend . Next day credit card was charged. So we Went back to the motel and spoke to owner and he shouted and said we gave him the wrong name so it was our fault. We yelled back and he said he was returning the money. Come Monday the bank card was charged by him AGAIN Total scam-
- Verified traveler (4/5): Make the drive from Springfield - Noisy all night long because walls must be paper thin. The place is worn out and needs major overall. Continental breakfast was a joke.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was good, except for a filthy hand towel on the new towel rack.
The rest of the hotel was unvacuumed, smelled of cigarettes.
Breakfast was all but non-existent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved everything. Outside was nice and parking was perfect. Room was excellent, big and clean. In room jacuzzi was relaxing. Didn't get a chance to use pool but it looked clean also.
- Keri (8/5): Okay - Not bad for the price close to shopping and dining. Could have been cleaner.
- Lori (8/5): Comfortable - This hotel was a bit dated, but decently clean. Beds were comfortable and AC worked great. The pool was out of commission.
- Krista (6/5): Will do in a pinch.....room was fine ... - Hotel lobby had no a/c .....ice machine was broken. Hotel lobby stunk like Indian food....not appealing especially with no air. Our room was good. Nice and clean a/c worked good once it was turned on
- Edgar (10/5): - The property was very clean and organized and the AC was working fantastic I have nothing wrong to say about this hotel. I will highly recommend it
- Margarita (6/5): - Everything was fine, But the pool was not working and we didn't know u til we got there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Advertised there was a pool, but the pool was closed. Had that been noted on the website, we would have chosen a different location. The building is older and could use some repair.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They don't know how to take care of customers, nobody cleaned my room for four days.
- jimmy (2/5): Worst place to stay ever - The room and hall smelled of smoke there was no pool no breakfast and no hot tub and room showed that it was in bad disrepair and when ask the Staff about the pool she got very rude
- bglenn82 (6/5): Adequate for a brief stay - We were here for a night, to attend a family funeral. The room was "non-smoking" but smelled of smoke. It is an old hotel that needs some updates. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. Indoor pool not functioning. Minimal breakfast offered.
- JPell1964 (2/5): Not my Best Idea - This is a rundown poorly-maintained property which is overpriced and almost totally vacant at the time of year we were there.
The non-existent breakfast described on the internet page could not be found of course there were some raunchy store-brand fake chocolate-covered doughnuts and we never did get any coffee.
The room itself is totally cleaned and very dirty around the baseboards.
The show slivers provided by the hotel are the smallest things I've ever seen in my life.
The shampoo is provided in a small plastic envelope? It seems a strange way of doing it.
It was obvious everything provided for the customer as far as amenities is the cheapest thing that can possibly be found.
The shower itself follow this trend of neglect and poor maintenance.
There was barely enough water to get clean with the Shelf we had to go to the store and buy for ourselves.
The only thing good to say about the room is that the heater worked.
My brother was certain this is sheets on his bed had not been changed and therefore slept in his clothes on top of the bedspread because no one is at the front desk late at night when he went there to complain.
- Charlie (2/5): - There is literally nothing to like about this property. Staff are truely awful, Hotel smell disgusting, and don’t plan on sleeping because they chant late at night and early in the morning. That’s if they aren’t screaming at one another. This is the hotel staff....
- Leonidas (8/5): - Needed a place to stay for business.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was a very bad experience.
- Jackie (2/5): - The hotel staff at this place are truly the rudest I have ever dealt with. They are very inconsiderate and unhelpful. Asking for a do not disturb sign was a task in itself. They were not willing to help at all. The room had urine sitting in the toilet to the point that it was white and smelled terribly. I moved to another room and the toilet would not flush. Randomly it would begin running. Four or five times during the night. Yep hotel was Extremely loud all night. The entrance into the hotel was a card access. The card would not read most nights. Again, the staff were awful. If at all possible, avoid this hotel.
- Josh (2/5): - The rooms were not cleaned well and the hotel staff were incredibly rude.
- Callie (4/5): - Mold in the bathroom, after turning on the heater the smoke alarm went off and it smelled, coffee pot broke, breakfast is a joke, end table was sticky, hair in the tub. Staff was rude when I asked for another coffee pot. Coffee was basically water in the lobby. Beds and pillows are horrible.
- Alisha (4/5): Not worth the price you pay! - Not worth the $80 I paid for the less than 10 hours there. Indoor pool was empty and closed, no breakfast as promised. Glad we had previously made other plans to eat. Rooms were not stocked correctly either.
- Ken (2/5): - No air in the lobby, halls and stairs looked like they hadn't been vaccumed in months. Rooms weren't clean; coffee filter left in coffee maker from previous guest.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Kind crew and nice place. Worth the cost. Were willing to accommodate our needs.
- RDG44 (6/5): No frills adequate overnight - Easy to reach location, with first and second floor rooms. Clean comfortable rooms. Could have used more shampoo, a small blob in a tiny envelope doesn't go far. Pets are accepted with surcharge and the usual "no dogs on bed" request.
