- Kenneth (5/5): A budget motel from which to explore the Black Hills for a day or so. - Located within an easy walk of local restaurants, which were mostly open despite it being off season. It is a 20 minute drive to Mt Rushmore. The rooms are basic, though there was a microwave. The indoor pool was not very enticing. Breakfast was free though very basic.

- eleno (10/5): Pleasant stay. - I liked that our stay was close to our train ride, and down town. The staff was great
Thank you. I was hoping for a different breakfast, but i understand that there may be more options
In the busy season. At least there were two items: coffee and eggs.
- jeri (10/5): Comfortable and relaxing - Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were always great and helpful. Made you feel at home. Nothing
- Sanders (8/5): - The gentleman working here was extremely kind The hottub had brown stuff floating in constantly
- Jay (10/5): -
- sandra (10/5): -
- Amy (10/5): -
- Gajewski (10/5): Would definitely stay here again. - The price was really good and it was close to the train depot.
- Darla (10/5): - Convenience, the night staff, clean room but missed not having a coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was ok for the money.
- Patricia (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and helpful! The room was a good size. The continental breakfast wasn't great, and the room could've been cleaner.
- Scott (6/5): - Hot tub was warm
- sylvie (6/5): - Nice but noisy, it is America !
- 192beverleym (10/5): Good value for money - Good hotel. Only fault, this may sound very petty, was that the overflow in the sink was stinking with hair, gunge etc. Told reception on check out and they said they would send someone up immediately to deal with it.
- Alice (7/5): -
- Chuck (4/5): - Room had bugs, breakfast was limited to a few doughnuts and the pancake machine was out of batter. Juice was terrible, bread for toast was dried out. Shower had mold around the base. Will not stay there again.
- Barbara (6/5): - If a pool and hot tub don't matter to you, I would have given it five stars. However, I choose it specifically because it had them. Unfortunately the hot tub was only warm, and the pool was way too cold. I actually like a cold plunge after a sit in a hot tub, but after this tepid tub I needed to go back to my room for a hot bath.
- Jay (8/5): - Check-in person was very helpful.
Breakfast was good.
- Janet (6/5): - .
- Phillipa (8/5): Great location - Hill City is definitely worth a stop. The hotel is at the end of the main st so an easy walk to town.
- Brian (8/5): -
- Mikeofokc (6/5): Who cares about fancy luxury when the lights go out - Super 8 offers a good nights sleep and affordable pricing. We drove into town in late afternoon with no reservations. Saw a few nicer hotels but they full. Nothing wrong with saving a few bucks and getting good nights rest. It had an indoor pool and hot tub I enjoyed. We stayed on bottom floor and the folks above got up early and that was the only down side. Heck I was getting up in 30 min anyway.
- Kristina (10/5): -
- Farah (10/5): - Hotel is in a nice quiet area of town. All shops were with in walking distance and area attractions were a shortdrive away. All staff we met werer very friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definatly be back in the near future!
- Kimberly (10/5): - It was clean, pet friendly and convenient to attractions in the area.
- Eric (10/5): - Quiet and clean
- Adam (8/5): -
- Madonna (9/5): Comfortable for the money. - Great value. Breakfast was okay. Toilet was too small for older people.
- William (8/5): -
- Shyrll (10/5): Long Ang winding road - Very pleasant stay, thanks for being so friendly.
- I4980SXjohnh (8/5): Sufficient - Clean rooms, breakfast not good. Parking is a bit difficult as there is quite a slope do to location. Staff if very friendly. Overall good stay. Would stay there again.
- John (9/5): - Clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was not good. Nothing about it could be construed as good.
- Jack (5/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Great location, used as centerpoint to ride the Michelson trail.
- Krista (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, parking got a little tight with people from other businesses parking in the lot.
- Kristi (6/5): - Front desk and cleaning staff very friendly! Need more than one pancake machine so you don’t have to stand in line and wait since that is what everyone was waiting for. Floors are really squeaky as heard people above walk every step. This hotel needs a lot of updating for the price they charge during the summer months. Dining room very small area!
- Michael (1/5): The bed was hard mattress was old. The label on the bottom of the mattress was cracked. It was so old and very, very unc - It was located perfect for the motorcycle riding that we did Toilet seat was broken. It pinched my skin and tore my skin off because of a broken toilet seat. It was completely cracked in half on one side.
- Wendy (10/5): - This is a very clean super eight. Had very kind staff. Everything was good.
- Victoria (9/5): -
- James (10/5): - Not what you expect in a chain motel these days. Everything, always clean. Everything maintained. Rooms cleaned daily, new bedding and towels daily. Friendly staff - a good place to stay right along the main drag in Hill City.
- Derek (8/5): - Good location but rooms were not comfortable for our family
- Wendy (7/5): - Location. It was clean. Staff were nice. Outdated rooms, nowhere to sit outside on property, could hear the people above us walking around-squeaky floors. Continental breakfast was disappointing.
- Rhonda (10/5): It is a great hotel with just what we need in this location. - Location. Restaurant wait time is always a challenge in this area.
- Sandra (10/5): - Everyone was very kind… room very clean daily
- Raymond (2/5): it was convenient location but the hotel needs a lot of upgrades - close to Mt . Rushmore the room was smelly should be upgraded
- Twain (4/5): - Wi-Fi did not work in my room. I had to go to the lobby every single time I needed to do anything on the web. Keys did not work. Outside door had to be kept propped open where people smoke filling the hallway with smoke. Staff was fine. SSStaffsmokeDoworkcs
- Duane (8/5): - room was ok, bed comfortable, but AC was very loud and did not seem to cool very well. I did like that I could open the window for the cool evening air.
- Philio (6/5): Ok for a smaller family - We were grateful for a place to stay in a very popular vacation spot. The breakfast was decent. The kids enjoyed the pool. We were a family of 3 adults and 2 children. The room had two full beds (I had been expecting queen size). I had requested a rollaway for my grandson but was told there wouldn't be room for it. So true! The room was very cramped and we had to have 3 people sleep in a full size bed. Also, the carpet was damp.
- Valarie (10/5): Location was a mayor plus. Their breakfast could use a sprucing up!! - Location NA
- Mackenzie (10/5): - We were glad we choose to stay here for the end of a road trip! The check in process was easy! The rooms are a little dated but mostly only in the bathroom area. We were suprised with the options for breakfast as well. We loved spending time at the pool as well!
- Holly (2/5): Very poor -
- Stacey (10/5): - Close to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful town
- Karen (8/5): - We canceled our second night and still have not been reimbursed.
- Timothy (7/5): Good -
- Kelly (2/5): - Absolutely gross hot tub had black scum bugs hair in the bed it was worst stay ever
- james (6/5): - very convenient to downtown
- candace (6/5): Disappointed stay - Refrigerator was dirty room smelled musty coffee maker dirty. Breakfast was cereal and toast bagels was disappointed with stay. Parking lot small if driving a Ford 350. Loud was on first floor by ice machine due to stairs for upper or lower rooms.
- Cara (8/5): Overpriced for roadside motel with sad breakfast - Excellent location! Check in staff was unfriendly. Breakfast was very sad. No protein - a major problem if you’re doing the Mickelson trail, like we were.
- Joni (7/5): Good -
- Monte (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean, large, and comfortable. The beds were compfy. The elevator was wonderful for this old man with a cane. Didn't need to use the stairs. The shower could've used a grab bar.
- ChemTeacherTraveller (8/5): Pleasant stay in Hill City - I planned to visit Mount Rushmore the next morning, so I booked the night at the Super 8 in Hill City. It had a good rate for the area and reasonable reviews. I was pleased with my stay. The front desk staff were friendly. My room had no smell. The fridge worked. I could walk to nearby restaurants. The air-conditioner worked well. The bed was very comfortable; I slept well. The hotel has a pool and hot tub that I enjoyed using. Breakfast included pancakes, toast, donuts, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, apples, coffee, and juice. There were some negatives, though. The hotel does have an elevator, but it doesn't reach a few rooms (including mine). The wifi was weak. The bed sheets were a little itchy. The shower water warmed up eventually. But the positives far outweighed the negatives.
- Happiness10052285412 (10/5): Hill city place to stay - Nice hotel with a pool . Great staff that were. Very helpful ! I picked this hotel for the ease of seeing all of the sights black hills has to offer. Centrally located made it easy to sight see and come back to an area loaded with food and shopping places . I would stay here again !
- Sandra (8/5): Super 8 - It was nice. The breakfast was okay. I would have liked some fruit.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dont stay here. - Room was dirty. Housekeeping took towels but didn't replace them. Didn't replace coffee. Coffee pot didn't work. Asked for a replacement and was given a dusty/dirty well used one. Parking was horrible. Guests on floor above us started running and jumping around at 5 am. Called the front deak and noone answered. And the guy who checked us in was very upset we did a 3rd party booking. Do not recommend.
- Barbara (10/5): - Fits well in the area and is the center of everything
- Michelle (4/5): Disappointing - Access to downtown shops and restaurants The hot water in the shower took about 15 minutes to get hot - no exaggeration. The shower drain was full of hair when we checked in. Because we booked online they wouldn’t add our AAA discount. So in turn we spent 300.00 more than we should have. There was no WiFi and the front desk
gentleman was not friendly. We spend a week in Hills City at least once a year but we will not be back to this property.
- Joanne (4/5): - Pancake machine, juice machine out of order. Small yogurts were in a mixing bowl in the sink near dirty dishes in ice. Yogurt was leaking out the top. Only some bread and cereal available.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was good for the price. Breakfast wasn't the best, but the bed was comfortable and the man checking us in was very nice.
- Beth (10/5): - Very very clean and no smoking any where on the property.
- Robin (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly.
- John (8/5): Rooms a bit dated - but very clean and comfortable. - Breakfast was the usual. Rooms were a bit dated but very clean - and comfortable. The location is near both Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore and the little Main Street is nice - and right at your door.
- Bryce Wooldridge (4/5): - The property is run down ,our toilet was crooked and ran all the time we had to turn off it's water to sleep and the mattress was totally worn out, lumpy and rolled you in to the middle
- Deb (7/5): Good -
- Jean (4/5): - Just beware if you need coffee in the morning there is none available until 6:30 (and the coffee is very poor quality). Breakfast is poor. Bed had a broken spring. Most, but not all, of the front desk people were very friendly. Will not be staying there again.
- Doug (10/5): - Breakfast was extremely limited
- James (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay. Centralized location to all the key sites.
- Grace (4/5): - Very old and just the basics!
- Jerome (8/5): - Good location. Lots of parking.
- monte (8/5): - The staff was polite and friendly. Hotel was conveniently located to the downtown area so we could walk everywhere easily.
I wish the pool would be open earlier in the morning since checkout is 11 AM. Opening the pool at 10 AM did not allow the kids time to swim before we had to leave in the morning.
- Robert (10/5): - Very centrally located, easy access to dining. Shopping, and the Mickelson Trail
- Harley (6/5): - Liked that it was right downtown. Did not like the quality or the room. Floors were nasty in the room and the air conditioner wouldnt even keep the room cool throughout the day.
- Holly (4/5): Disappointing -
- charles (10/5): - Front desk team was fantastic!
- John (10/5): - Helpful front desk.
