• Beth (7/5): Pretty basic but location and space were great. - Great location and nice roomy apartment. Bathroom a bit dated and shower wouldn’t change angle so soaked floor (reported this though). Also no coffee making facilities just sachets of Nescafé. This is a clincher for me, sure other folk won’t be quite as concerned 😄

• Christine (6/5): Overpriced and under cared for apartment. - The convenience of self catering with advantages of apartment over a hotel room. Dirty pans in cupboard that needed washed before use, broken kitchen equipment, broken toilet flush, broken shelf in fridge door, lack of and broken cooking utensils - no casserole dish or baking tray, bare minimum amount of cutlery and glasses, kitchen blind broken and plinth on cupboards fell off every time you opened the dishwasher.

• Louise (5/5): Would not stay here again. - It was quite spacious, which was nice. Bathroom was clean and good. It wasn’t horrible, but not very nice either. When we arrived, the whole flat smelled strongly of some kind of perfume and there was still wet towels in the washing machine. Kitchen was poorly equipped and several of the mattresses had stains on them. While the apartment was quite spacious, it felt small and almost claustrophobic since the doors were impossible to keep open without propping them open with bags and heavy things. Since we were at the ground floor, it felt a bit insecure at times when there were crowds of other guests standing and smoking outside our window while we tried to put the kids to sleep. Again, it wasn’t horrible but we would not stay here again nor recommend it to friends.

• colincH5785PB (6/5): Disappointed on return visit - Stayed here 2 years ago and was disappointed on our return. The price has gone up and the quality has gone down. Cleanliness was below standard with the grill clearly not having been cleaned at all. The kitchen was really poorly stocked. We had about 20 spoons but only 3 forks, no chopping board, no baking trays etc. Reported this through the Spires website on our first day and got no response in the 5 days that we stayed. Fire alarm was set off while we were there and it took over an hour for someone to arrive on site to reset it (thankfully, the fire brigade were there quicker).

• Kevin (3/5): - There were cobwebs in the property and generally it wasn't very clean. Breakfast bowls with wheatabix on them, unwashed. No cooking utensils expect for one spatula. How they can offer the property with kitchen and no utensils for cooking it a joke. Carpets I guess had recently been replaced, it's a pity the doors hadn't been altered to accommodate the new carpet as they were difficult to close.

Once we were able to figure out how to contact our hosts, as we were using US phones so we were unsure how to input the phone number, they took care of the situation and were very apologetic and helpful. The fire alarm went off in another of the apartments, which rang in each unit in the building, and continued to ring for quite some time. I'm not sure how often this happens but from the information left on the kitchen table it sounds like it might not be a solitary occurrence. The photos didn't seem to be as accurate as I would have expected.

• Michel (6/5): Tres décevant…. - L emplacement Tout d abord rentrer dans un appartement froid n est vraiment pas agréable. De plus il n y a aucune instruction pour mettre le chauffage en marche. C est également assez bruyant puisque on entend les véhicules extérieurs depuis la chambre. Enfin, il y avait des problèmes d évacuation au wc. Cela fait beaucoup. Très décevant.
• Susan (10/5): Very handy for my work and reasonable price. Excellent facilities and customer service - easy parking, easy access and very helpful staff when I lost something. Turned the apartment upside down for me after I left and kept in touch. Very clean apartment and comfy bed.

• colin (7/5): It was comfortable & location worked well. - Location & plenty of parking. The flats was seriously warm & no fans or anything to try & cool them down. The windows all opened fully but we were 3rd floor & there was no safety catches on the windows & with 2 young children it wasn't the safest!

• 960pilil (6/5): It served a purpose - It was fine for a small crew of guys to stay over night but probably not something we would book for pleasure. It did the job and was clean.
• Explorer20116942960 (10/5): Spacious apartment and central with a 15 minute walk to the centre of Cardiff - Excellent location to town, just a 15 minutes walk. We were in Cardiff for a Xmas Business meal which was so much fun! The rooms were big and clean with their own en-suite each. The kitchen was a good size with a lounge and TV area. Our dogs were very comfortable too! Richard on reception was very friendly and managed to secure the last parking space for us. Remember to book these in advance if you want parking at the back of the hotel.

• Fiona (9/5): Great stay for price - Excellent location for where we were going. Good value for money had everything we needed. Heating did not come on till 5pm, middle of November in Aberdeen it was freezing. Heating never came on at all at 5pm in one apartment, phoned for assistance and got the matter sorted by a very friendly and helpful assistant. Once heating on apartment was lovely and hot.
• karen (10/5): Brilliant location walking distance to city and if your not up to it there are buses I.the doorstep, staff very friendly - The property is situated not far from the city it was clean comfortable and staff were on hand if you need anything. Nothing it was all good

Loud traffic noise from adjacent road. mysterious locked room in the flat didn't set my mind at ease. As a single woman travel I didn't feel safe. Left as soon as possible in the morning .

• Nathalie (8/5): Bom, mas... - Ótima localização, limpo, cozinha bem equipada. Roupas de cama e banho novas e de boa qualidade. Ficamos em um apartamento no bloco B. A calefação não funcionou. Ligamos para o número da central e pedimos ajuda conforme orientação. Informaram que um funcionário iria dentro de uma hora, o que não aconteceu. Passamos a noite com muito frio. As instruções do check-in, principalmente do estacionamento, poderiam ser melhores.

Spacious rooms, nice and clean. Made use of washing machine. Set in a lovely neighbourhood about 10 min drive from centre Bed mattress really uncomfortable. Could feel spings, so ended up sleeping on the couch. TV small and old. Couldn't cast from phone and would have expected to be able to do this

• Jackie (4/5): Clean but mattresses are uncomfortable - Well located and parking Checked out early Mattresses are sprung with no foam overlay- they seemed almost domed if you roll too far it sort of catapults you out of bed! - didn’t sleep the whole time- in addition we were given a ground floor apartment looking into the entrance to the next block (- high traffic)and they didn’t put Venetian blinds or other privacy screening on the main window so we ended up spending our time with curtains closed which felt dingy and unpleasant.

• Patricia-William (10/5): Good and not so good - The young man at reception was very nice and helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor though and help with our luggage would have been wonderful. The place is clean and the beds comfortable. The doors wouldn’t stay open though and the washer/dryer combo is small, and takes forever! There were directions for every appliance but that. We specifically booked there for laundry and were quite disappointed.

• Aileen (7/5): - It’s nice to have a spacious apartment in a convenient location for our purposes with car parking available. The apartments are a bit tired now and would benefit from being painted and new carpeting throughout. The bed wasn’t that comfortable this time.

• Hilary (5/5): Spoiled by road noise in bedrooms at night - Car parking - lots of spaces. Spacious apartment Road noise. The apartment was on the main road and the road noise was bad all night. Windows seemed to be very poor at keeping noise out. Much quieter at back of building but bedrooms were at the front. Overall feels a bit dated
