- Andrea (8/5): Enjoyed it - I had a pleasant stay there. The room was big enough, clean, with parking and in a good location so cannot complain. Everything was good
- Hazel (4/5): - Very close to place I was having treatment Mini fridge froze anything you put in it as there was no door on freezer compartment.
- Neale (8/5): -
- Mia (10/5): -
- David (7/5): - Great location, friendly staff. Large comfortable olde world room.
- LukeDixon (10/5): Nice and quiet. Close to the city. Will stay again. - Close to town for events. Nice and quiet..Will be back again. No issues.
- tianxiang (6/5): -
- Angela (9/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location for my family and access into the city on busses.
Kitchenette a bonus. Comfortable bed. Cold damp bathroom. The weather!! Noise from the busy road at times.
- Debbie (7/5): - The property is tired now and gets more so with our stays. Needs an upgrade
- Leticia (5/5): Not satisfyed, didn’t worth what I paid! - Location and free parking First room was hard access and quite old. It did not have a bath, but had kitchen facilities. Moved to a different room, that one had a bath, but not kitchen facilities.
- richard (5/5): -
- Tasha (5/5): Adequate - Despite being by a busy road the room was quiet. The beds were pretty good. Enough towels and cutlery for the three of us would have been good.
The room we booked and paid for wasn’t available. And if we hadn’t paid already we might not have stayed here. Please don’t advertise and accept payment for rooms that aren’t available.
- Seloka (1/5): Bad experience I'll never recommend it to anyone - I've booked and paid in full. And I arrived at The Devereux Boutique Hotel only to be turned away cause they had over booked the rooms. After traveling for 8 hours to get there and to be turned away it's not a good thing my partner and I had to sleep in our car cause all the Hotels and motels were booked out. The Hotel promised to refund my money the same day that was the promise of the Hotel manager she lied today is Tuesday and I'm still for my refund. I'd never recommend this Hotel too anyone. I'll be seeking legal advice and will be taking to the consumer protection department about the service I've received I'll speak to the news papers tomorrow too
- Paul (9/5): -
- Glen (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I love the position of the Hotel and the rooms.
- Michalski (6/5): - The location was surprisingly good, within walking distance from some good dinner options. And the price point was good. The location was advertised to have good fast wifi, but when we got there they said this wasn't the case. We could barely access the wifi in our room.
- alinda (6/5): - Value hotel ,large room. Very dated , so whilst very boutique is a fine line to just being out of date.
- Angela (8/5): Good service - Very convenient location for my family. Busses and local shops nearby. The staff have been very helpful and bent over backwards to please. Room is fairly basic, but once serviced, it suits my need.
- Chris (8/5): - The location was good. The bed was comfortable. The place was dated and needs modernising. The gardens were unkempt which was a shame.
- Michael (10/5): magic - Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious clean lovely mattress and my type of pillows.
Close to Airport city center and the Bombay hills.
- Emma (10/5): Excellent, would definitely come back! - The bed was very comfortable and we loved the big rooms/high ceilings!! More car spaces would be ideal, however there were quite a few just sadly missed out when returning from dinner.
- Antioche (9/5): I keep coming back - I have stayed here multiple times, as located in-between 2 of our clients.
It is very accessible both for taxi for airport or car if you are driving there, directly on major bus stop line for commute to CBD and very close to other major bus lines.
All rooms are dry, warm and comfortable, the rooms directly on the garden courtyard are particularly nice, with a green relaxing vibe.
The staff is a small team, but they are very friendly and offer splendid service, they even retrieved things I misplaced before, I completely trust them. The buildings are in good nick for their age but definitely not new - I don't mind personally but if you want super modern facilities, this isn't it.
The only issue with the place is depending on the side of the building you are placed in on booking, you could be overlooking the main road, which is quite noisy in the evening (daytime, it's not that busy at night).
- Corrina (1/5): - When we eventually got moved into the main building and into the room we originally paid for, it was better than the room they dumped us in for the first two nights.
The area is nice for breakfasts and lunches They rang us and told us they were 'up grading' us but this was a lie. The room the upgraded us to (yes more expensive on their web page) was not part of the main hotel. It looked like some sort of back alley motel, and the only difference was that it had a microwave. The shower in this room they dumped us in is not in any of the photos on their web page for a reason. It is old and dilapidated and I really wish I had have gotten photos of it, I will explain later on while I was unable to get photos.
The first night we got there around 9:00 p.m. so went to sleep pretty quickly. Went out for the next day. It is in a good area, and when we came back that evening there was lots of cars coming in and out. It sounded like someone had a baseball bat and was hitting something really loudly and then people shouting going up and down the stairs on the outside of this motel type part. I felt particularly unsafe and I sent a message through the booking app to say that I wanted our original room. This wasn't an upgrade. I was really disappointed and just generally felt really quite unsafe on this ground floor with a tiny lock.
I didn't receive a message the next morning so I went into the hotel main house to ask if we could change. The woman said she would have a look at it for me so we went out for the day, I then receive a message saying that it wasn't possible. They were fully booked and they weren't able to move us to, which I did respond saying that was really disappointed. We had paid for a certain room and this upgrade definitely felt like a downgrade and I was just generally really disappointed in the service. The cleanliness and the fact that we couldn't get the hairdrider work and the woman who came to help us agreed that the plug sockets didn't work.

- koen (6/5): Practical cheap location not far from CBD - The hospitality was great!
The Remuera bus facility to the center: bus 75 and 781
The restaurants in the Remuera Shopping center!
Clean and safe area. The hotel and rooms are really dated.
We stayed there as it was a cheap price and for us a practical choice to be close to Parnel and Auckland.
We made the choice based on price and pictures. The hotel had charmes in the history but a lot of maintance should be done.
- Grant (8/5): -
- Allan (8/5): -
- Mary Bowers (8/5): Kate is lovely. Helpful and friendly - Location excellent A chair would be nice
- Tim (7/5): -
- John (9/5): - Location, classy, quiet, private.
- lucy (3/5): - Room size as expected Not very clean, curtains in the room had mould on. The toilets were locked overnight, with no staff on site contactable until the morning. Meant the night was not comfortable
- Philip (6/5): Room was dark and small but location was great and it was cheap - Location and price were awesome! 'Boutique hotel" is a moniker given to solely create more custom. Can't argue with that i guess but was more of a budget hotel!!!
- Bruce (8/5): -
- Annie (6/5): -
- Tracey (1/5): -
- Tony Briffa (3/5): Enjoyed the location close to city centre, but will not be staying there again. - It was close to Auckland's city centre Requested ground floor unit, on arrival allocated a unit up on first floor, difficult to carry luggage up about 14 steps. Traffic noise was constant even with sliding door shut. Too much light at night from hallway lights, curtain needed entry door.
- Anne (5/5): Comfortable except for cold shower - The bed and pillow were great. It was clean. The shower was cold, the tv/internet was average. The milk was rotten, it was not in the house in pictures it was next to it., so not boutique like advertised.
- Susan and Robert (7/5): -
- van Staden (6/5): It was fine for my purposes but I would never stay there for any other reason than just needing a be - It is a beautiful old building and the reception area etc is very nice and the staff were fantastic The rooms were very dated. The shower was not good and the hot water in the basin was just a trickle. I had to boil the kettle to fill the basin to shave. The toilet didnt flush properly.
- Navneet (1/5): -
- Reid (10/5): -
- Jun-san (7/5): Affordable accommodation in Auckland for those travelling by car - Although it’s a hotel right in the heart of Auckland, it has a large car park, so I think it’s an excellent choice for those travelling by car. I didn’t really like being asked for my credit card security code when checking in.
- Scotty (2/5): - The location. Small facility no ability to fill up electric jug, dirty room.
- Sue (10/5): Perfect. We will come again next time we are in Zak - Very central to where we wanted to be Nothing
- hanson (8/5): -
- Shuk yee (5/5): - Did not provide tissues paper or enough toilet rolls . The garden was messy .
- Ferrari (8/5): -
- McDonald (7/5): - Location, comfort Unfortunately there were a few ants
- Cameron (10/5): -
- Rahul (10/5): -
- Alexa (6/5): - Location Dated bathrooms and decor
- Helen (6/5): - Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Facilities were dated and in need of renovations. The towels were poor quality and didn't absorb the water well at all, no flannels were provided. Rooms weren't serviced daily.
- Aimee (7/5): -
- Roseanne1961 (9/5): -
- Kirsty (1/5): - Could not open windows for airflow at night as opened straight onto balcony with public access so not safe, no printing facilities, would not stay again
- Sally (7/5): Ok - Location, parking False advertising, I expected to stay in lovely old house as advertised but accommodation was in very ordinary units
We had booked special room directly with Devereux which we didn't get and rooms were not together
- Aleksandra (9/5): -
- Jacqueline (8/5): Good value in characterful property - Lovely old building, comfortable rooms, good location and good value
- Chris (5/5): good location but grubby and in dire need of some maintenance and a good clean. Wouldn't stay here again. - location Dirty room, mouldy shower curtain, untidy grounds
- Katie (3/5): It was disappointing and I won’t be recommending it to friends. - The hotel has a website that displays the rooms as very attractive. I really was expecting a far better room than the pokey, back hallway place we were taken that had strong cooking smells in the evening and in the morning. It was awful and the carpet in that hallway looked and felt very unclean. It honestly felt like a low budget hostel room.
- Alexander (5/5): Fair for the night stay. - Location to Remuera shopping centre was great. Close to train station for walking distance.
Nice quiet rooms. Good parking options. Room cleaning could have been better. Mouldy curtain lining weren’t great to see. Wifi was slow.
- Mike (7/5): Two nights of comfortable and convenient accommodation. - Located centrally in Auckland and easily accessible from motorway on main bus route. Close walk to shops and supermarket. Parking available. Quiet location set back from road. Was given free upgrade to bigger room. It is showing it's age and could do with some maintenance and upgrading but the character of the is older villa is great.
- Sebastián (10/5): -
- lachlan (10/5): -
- Luis Filipe (10/5): -
- L Grant (9/5): - Quaint older house, garden Noise can travel
- Sandra (7/5): - Loved the main house, a beautiful homestead, with big rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Looks beautifully renovated. The cottage in the garden needs updating. The cupboards were old and the inside needs to be painted. The little courtyard is bare and you're on top of staff quarters.
- Liz (2/5): - Very noisey people up and down the stairs
Hard bed
Bathroom pokey and no conditioner
- Marco (8/5): -
- Anthony (5/5): -
- Tom (8/5): - It was good 👍
- Virginia (6/5): Would of been lovely if it had been updated - The price Needs updating windows were about to fall out
- Tony Minto (9/5): - Central to the city, good value
- Jarrod (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): - Spacious clean room in a property with character.
- Alwyn (10/5): A lovely place to stay nice and centrally. - The staff were lovely and offered a free room upgrade, Super appreciated!
Enjoyed a concert at Parnell Cathedral that my grand-daughter was performing at.
Also enjoyed popping up to Brown's for a lovely Sunday brunch. Nothing
- Jillian (8/5): Lovely receptionist who was prepared to stay on a bit later to greet us outside of 9pm closing hours - Spacious clean room with comfortable bed. Courtyard outside our room needed a bit of tidying up
- Cornelio (3/5): Its good because its close to all the shop and CBD but presentation is poor - Close to AKL CBD Missing towels, missing iron, not everything on the website is in there. The TV cannot connect to Netflix. Toilet is dirty. Outside the room smells so bad smells like pee
- Kurt (9/5): -
- Grant (4/5): - old and rundown - heater dangerous and unusable tears in the curtains, and a general feeling of low maintenance.
- Webb (5/5): -
- Yantha (8/5): Good spot for a stop over. Good value for Auckland. Characterful house. - Huge room, dual aspect with good views, comfortable bed, decent water pressure, nice bath. There were several printed notices stuck around at various sites with warnings which I found quite off-putting.
- morera pujol (8/5): Agradable.
- Nerea (8/5): - Really cozy and lovely for a couple.
- Mark (10/5): It was excellent. - It's a great place to stay, great hosts, in a great location. I come to Auckland reasonably regularly and it's a great place to stay. Very reliable and relaxed.
- Daly (6/5): -

- Rochelle (8/5): - Nice clean and quiet Nothing
- Tejbeer (6/5): -
- Macdonald (10/5): -
- Clayton (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): -
- Iosefa (6/5): - Inside the hotel was nice and it was easy to find a parking. Bathroom was too far from the rooms, the ground floor was too loud when people walking past and it was too much noise in the morning waking up people early in the morning.
- Donna (3/5): Shocking.never have been downgraded and also treated like we were complaining about nothing. - Location Was given 1 room with 2 singles and had booked and paid for family suite. We’re told because some family had booked it for a week and we were only 3 nights.
