• Jan (6/5): never going back - ask if we could check out 30 minutes late they said for an extra fee. we stayed one night for about 300. asked if they were full the next day, it was a weekday stay, they said no. it is what it is .. but it’s a no for us;)

I knew that I needed to register for the breakfast the previous night, but when I went to register, there was no one at the desk. The general attitude was: here's the keys, you're on your own. No help from the staff. But the room was pleasant, and the location was close to central Sacramento, where I wanted to be.

• Celeste (9/5): Charming vintage house, great value - Very charming building with vintage vibes, hardwood floors, and a beautiful little alcove with a window on the second floor, looking out into the trees and the park. The jasmine nearby smelled great in the evenings. Great decor and great bathtub in the room with plenty of hot water. It was in a low-key, tree-filled residential neighborhood, not a ton of amenities right there, but a 10-minute walk to restaurants and a 20 minute walk from the Capitol. Generally speaking everything was sparkling clean, but the area rug in the room had seen better days and needed to be be either thoroughly cleaned or replaced. The sound of the freeway a few blocks away was audible but not too loud, and I am very sensitive to noise - my white-noise app blocked it out just fine.

Employee was in a Training meeting and was unavailable until meeting ended which was too late. The deposit was more the room itself. Which I cldnt have Our employee come up with since we cldnt have our company card approved since this was a last min booking. Had to Changed up to Marriott and No Issues of course. Very stressful when in middle of work training, receiving multiple text to complete screening. Better to just go with a reputable hotel that does have so many issues.

• Nicole (4/5): - it should be advertised that this hotel is not ADA compliant. I had to pay $300 and basically crawl upstairs in terrible pain. The receptionist stated that she usually just helps people in wheelchairs manage the two stairs to the lower quality room. That is incredibly disrespectful and I have a wheelchair that is 450 pounds! I didn’t drive five hours and pay $300 for the lower quality room! And I shouldn’t have to risk my health unexpectedly non-ADA compliance should be advertised! I had a terrible stay at your hotel and exasperated my medical conditions by having to walk upstairs. Along with that, the bathroom fan ran all night long and kept me awake. And the coffee machine was broken!

• Derek (10/5): Beautiful old mansion in funky neighborhood - This charming converted mansion from the 1930's is a far departure from the myriad of chain hotels dotting Sacramento. It is situated by a beautiful, and somewhat funky, park and is a very walkable half mile from the state capital in an older section of the city.The current proprietors have done an excellent job of keeping the charm of the old building while updating it for modern amenities. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. If there is any downside, it is the proximity to US 50. As any traveler knows, a good sleep mask and ear plugs solves any road noise, which you really do not notice unless you sleep with the windows open. If you want to get away from the stale, beige of the chain hotels and have a unique experience in something better, this is the place. And besides, if we do not patronize these older, off the beaten path places, history shows they will disappear. I give it a thumbs up.
• Chris (10/5): Awesome location to downtown and excellent service - Neighborhood is a little borderline, however, they offer a parking pass to park directly out in front of the hotel. Access to downtown is absolutely amazing. It took me four minutes to get to my meeting in the morning. The service here is excellent, and the rooms are beautiful. I really enjoyed the whirlpool tub in my room.

• Melanie (2/5): Don’t stay here. - Property in the middle of nowhere and across from a park where the homeless were hanging out at night. No one is there after 8:00pm. I had to send photos of me, my credit card, etc to get the prívale ge of receiving a code to get into the property. I requested the code before my flight took off and they assured it would be sent shortly. Needless to say, they never sent it. When I arrived in Sacramento it was impossible to reach anyone. The instructions say to go to a certain location to then receive instructions to get into the inn. Very stressful and in my mind terrible customer service. The room was the loft which might have been ok if we were under 4 feet tall. My husband couldn’t use the toilet without sitting down due the eaves above the toilet. We smacked our heads multiple times. The room never got cool enough even with the AC on high. There isn’t even a bathroom door, just a curtain separating the bedroom from the bathroom. We never saw a single person working there the entire 3 days of our stay. So if you want a cold, impersonal experience - have fun.

I have food allergies, so I was surprised to learn there were no breakfast options for someone with a peanut/nut allergy. You all may want to consider that when offering “bed and breakfast.”

Room was quiet and bed cosy; I slept very well! Not the fault of the property, but it is a little out of the way. I was without a car this time, and it is a bit of a walk to get to restaurants (on the other side of the park).

There is a secure entry system, which I liked. Inside the home was beautiful, with what appeared to be some of the furniture from the original owners of the home. It was serene, quiet, peaceful. I would love to stay again, anytime!

Staff was friendly and professional; room and facility sparkling clean and comfortable. Great bathroom with wonderful shower. Everything was great! I think that it would be nice if they actually served breakfast rather than advertising themselves as a B&B but then only making breakfast available as an add-on grab and go.

• Glenn (8/5): - The place was quaint. We didn't really spend much time there just basically to sleep. The room was very clean and spacious. Just not sure how its classified as a B&B when you have to pay for breakfast and it wasn't cooked it was just a sack of snacks if you wanted, which we did not.
• Barbara (9/5): Our stay was lovely, would just select a different room next time. - We didn't have breakfast here, or engage any of the additional services. Not to say we wouldn't in the future. It was a beautifully maintained property, and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The spa tub was fantastic. I wasn't aware of the spiral staircase up to the Happiness room. I probably wouldn't have booked it. My partner is recovering from radiation treatment and is still very weak, and the staircase about did him in. Also, carrying luggage up the stairs can be a little tricky. Also, we're tall people and I didn't realize the slope and height of the slanted walls would be so severe. I bumped my head several times, and it was impossible for a man to pee in the toilet as you can't get close enough to it. Really inconvenient for those of us who are tall. It was a beautiful room though, but I wouldn't book it again for these two reasons. Bed was a little soft for my comfort, I need a firm mattress. Slept OK though.

• Jenny (8/5): B and b without the ‘and b’ - The rooms were very beautifully prepared and made up. There were good bathroom facilities and the bed was quite large and comfortable. Various of our friends and family had booked to stay in this particular place so that we would be in contact as it was my son’s wedding. The hotel staff would not share the details of the arrival of the people we knew which was frustrating. In addition, the place was called a ‘luxury b and b’ but breakfast was not offered except on weekends and was not included in the room rate (which was quite expensive).

• Karen (10/5): - The Fong Mansion is beautiful. It was built in the 1930s I believe. It has an elegant feel but homey. We enjoyed sitting in the living room looking out the beautiful windows at the park across the street. There are also 2 reading chairs upstairs on the second floor with the same view. We were in the Tranquility Room. The bath and shower were wonderful! Breakfast was wonderful as well as the wine!!! We would love to return! Minor suggestions: I would have loved the option to buy a soda! (however, drinking the iced water and hot tea were probably better for me!) Also, blowing off the leaves from the patio would have been nice. We would have enjoyed sitting out there despite the briskness! But these are very minor!!
• Michael (10/5): - Each room is unique. “Happiness” is exciting and unusual. However it is not recommended for persons who have difficulty with mobility. It is located in the former attic and must be accessed by a circular staircase.
