Guest Reviews
- O1386ADdebbied (4/5): Last time we stay at Country Inn - We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and LOVED it, The Location, Staff , Atmosphere, Just was a homey warm place, But this trip we were so disappointed that things are absoulutely not the same as we remember. We were told the rooms only get cleaned every 3 days after returning to find our garbage not emptied the towels on floor and the toilet paper not replaced as well as we had no bath wash once it ran out , the vending machines all removed and the Ice Machine only on 1st floor near lobby. The hotel smelled musky and just so not like the several times we been there before, to add we are very unhappy as we called to order food from the "Your Place" restaurant at 8:30PM was told they will bring the food to the hotel lobby desk and we called a couple of times down to lobby desk to see if was there yet , finally 9:30 PM we called restaurant to see where food was and the person who answered said they don't bring food but it was there waiting at restaurant if we wanted to get it. This would of meant it was laying there now over hour and cold, We called lobby desk and was told they would take care of it with the manager and that we would not be charged by the way the girl on phone told us to hold ad then ran the food to lobby desk which we now refused as it was over hour laying around, but just saw on our bill it was charged, I called Hotel I am still waiting for callback to straighten this matter out. Hopefully it will be taken off our bill. I would think this hotel.was taken over by new management because its definitely going downhill and to bad it use to be a nice place to stay, so unfortunately this will be our last time going to Country Inn or referring it as we always did. I will on a better note say we had 2 very pleasant young men running desk at night Nathan and Hunter to them we give a thumbs up.
- marino738 (4/5): Musty/dirty room - Best part was the hot tub.
đ Gotta drive long distances to get to attractions the breakfast was lack luster ended up going out to eat cause the restaurant next door was too expensive plus I wasn't informed that they didn't take cash until I drove all the way up from Virginia and whoever decided that it was a good idea to put tile floor pool deck instead of concrete is a pure genious....NOT, oh the pool water was so cold đ„¶ even frosty's snowballs would fall off and on top of that our room was dirty when we walked into the room and when I asked the desk they said they only clean the rooms if someone stays 3 nights or more they need to submit a request for house keeping will probably come back to Lancaster but not this hotel.......oh the two college kids behind the counter didn't seem to want to be there.....oh my girlfriend found some kind of dark matter on the toilet.
- Amber (8/5): - Loved the pool, hot tub and the country feel/decor at the hotel. It was convenient to all Lancaster attractions.
- Maria (10/5): - Very clean. Homey, decorated pumpkins for free, free popcorn, games and activities, went with 10 others and we brought food to eat- very accommodating
- KAREN (6/5): - I was charged a $320 plus a $100 hold when I checked in so $420 was deducted from my bank account and then day I check out another $320 was deducted from my bank account I did get the $420 credited back to my account in a couple of days but I felt like this was a $420 hold not $100 like I was told if I wouldn't of had extra money in my account I could of overdrawn my account without knowing it. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at that did this I had hotels charge me a $100 hold before but was never charged when I checked in and checked out even though they did credit the one after a few days but I was told $100 not $420 for this reason I will never stay here again
- Heather (10/5): Amazing country themed place to stay! - We stayed for the first time here and it was great! The only down fall was the loosened shower rod which created water leak on the floor each time we showered but it was an easy clean up. Needed a couple more handicapped parking spots in front of the second building but highly recommend this place and will stay again!
- marjorie (10/5): - We loved the quaint little hotel. Everyone was friendly. There were games to borrow in the lobby, a little library shelf on our floor, little pumpkins to paint. There were always people gathered in common areas enjoying each other. Such a cute little place.
- Diana (8/5): - Old fashion đđ
- James (8/5): - Nice location, room was clean, the lady that worked in the breakfast area was very friendly and helpful with information about the area. Would definitely stay there again.
- Paul (10/5): - This is our second time staying here and we love it! The place is clean and cozy. Our family loved playing the games in the lobby, sitting on the porch, sipping coffee and painting the pumpkins provided by the inn. We will definitely be back!
- Thomas (10/5): - The staff was absolutly wonderful!!!! We will definitly be stayingthere again!!!! We highly recommend this hotel!!!! The handicapped room was exactly what I needed!!! Great job!!!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Clean room
- Michael (8/5): - Older hotel. Bathrooms updated and super nice but main room and hallways need updated. As others mentioned, some odd smell which could be the carpets. Breakfast is basic but all good.
Staff were all great and super friendly. Housekeeping staff cleaned room daily on our stay
- Tim and Joan (2/5): - No wonder
- Lyle (10/5): - For a lower budget hotel this place is very nice. I read some reviews with some concern but found none of them present. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, the bathroom was spotless with a great sized vanity and nice sized towels.
- Marjorie (10/5): - They have the best beds and softest pillows. No back pain here. The staff is wonderful. Happy to see you. They have a restaurant and bar in the same parking lot. Great food and staff there also.
- Alex (10/5): - Happy with everything at the Country Inn of Lancaster.
Will come back again.
- Debra (8/5): - I enjoy staying at this property for the convenience, parking, bar/restaurant convenience and overall friendliness of the staff. My only complaint is that the rooms could use an upgrade. Bathroom is nice but the carpet needs to go (for cleanliness) and there is always a musty smell in the room. Even when you put the air conditioner on it doesn't take away the smell.
- Rebecca (10/5): - The hotel is conveniently located to the places we wanted to visit in the area. The room was large, and we appreciated the fridge. Unfortunately, the bathroom was very dated and musty. We liked having lots of towels, but we were afraid the shower curtain rod was going to pull away from the wall, it was bending at an awkward angle.
The pool/hot tub were great to have since we visited on a hot weekend. Be cautious since the pool deck is very slippery when wet. The breakfast was much appreciated, there were many options, and we were grateful to have the convenience right down the hall from our room.
- Brenda (2/5): - There was a terrible musty odor in our room. When I went to the front desk, I ask the front desk person if anyone else has said anything and she replied no. The moved us to another room. That room smelled just as bad. When I spoke with the front desk clerk in the morning about it. She blamed it on the rain they had. After I got home, I started reading reviews on this hotel. Reviews from years ago stated about musty smells. So both front desk persons were dishonest. I have very bad allergies and it has now affected me.
- Cindy (8/5): - The light in our bathroom was not working correctly and flickered non stop. It was reported several times and not fixed.
- Scott (4/5): - Hotel is dated which we were expecting but the room was very musty smelling. We were given 3 other rooms to try but they were about the same. The weather was mild so we were able to shut off the a/c and open the window for a few hours before we went to bed. But we had to close it at night because our room was in the front and there was a lot of road noise. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left after one night. We booked with Expedia between the hotel and Expedia we were able to get the second night refunded.
- Brittany (10/5): - Cute rooms and quaint vibe.
- O1395BWjameso (10/5): Fun in Lancaster - Very nice and friendly place. Very pleasant and helpful staff! We came to the area on a bus tour. Plan to stay here the next time we come to the area.
- CINDY J (8/5): - They staff was very nice and accommodating.
It was very cute country feel.
The restaurant on the property was good.
There are only a few outlets in the rooms. That needs updating for all the chargers people have these days.
- sheila may (6/5): - I didnât like the bathroom, the exhaust fan was so loud that when you use it you will wake up anyone whoâs sleeping
- Jamie (8/5): Manage your environment - Nice pool and friendly staff! The popcorn in the lobby is a great touch! Too many renovations ice machine not working. The bed was not very comfortable but enjoyed the porch!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate - Adequate, older hotel
- Karen L (8/5): - It was a clean room but only one chair at the table and no refrigerator in the room . Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The staff was excellent..
- Todd (6/5): - It was average but had musty smell. Showers were nice.
- Frieda (6/5): - Clean room and good price
- Kathy (2/5): - Rooms smelled moldy and mildew. Dirty room !
I wouldnât put anyone or anything in our room. Smells fresh popcorn when you walk in after that it was all down hill. No ac on in hallways and rooms. We had to leave and we just drove all the way back home. Reunited our vacation!
- Akira (4/5): - This property itâs not well maintained the Pom was dirty blankets dirt and poor quality also behind the bed cans stock there carpet too dusty not recommended for people with asthma or allergies we had to move to other hotel and the breakfast they offered was too limit and not good the staff not that friendly
- Elsie (10/5): - This is my second stay at this facility. Itâs centrally located to all amusement parks, fast food, dining and shopping. Adjacent to the Inn is a great restaurant called Your Place Restaurant & Sports Pub. The food is delicious and service is great. The rooms are cozy but the beds could use an upgrade. I would definitely keep coming back as the staff and cleaning crew are amazing.
- Susan (6/5): - Room was empty remodeled and pretty good shape but some areas were closed due to broken equipment. Needed some major repairs.
- debra k (4/5): - Well as soon as you get to your room, it smells of mold. I did look for bugs. Seen none, that was a plus, as far as convenience, nice location, on Sunday before we left we went to pool and spa, the spa had a lot of grind on bottom and they let small children in,now the worst thing was you get charged 50.00 a nite for incidentals, which to me is wrong, glad my bf had credit card on him cause I didnât have extra money along.
- Brian (8/5): - Nice staff. Clean pool and hot tub. Rooms need to be updated. Gluten-free options for breakfast would be a plus. Bathroom was updated and very nice.
- Joan (6/5): - I thought I would have a hot breakfast some protein
- Mark (10/5): - Very old style (1980s), but very clean.
- Olesya (4/5): - Pool was good.
Breakfast was poor quality fast food choices.
I would never stay there again.
- Henrietta (4/5): - Smelly, I think came from the air conditioner.
- Randee (10/5): - Wonderful hotel to stay in and experience the real Lancaster.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The staff are very nice and helpful đ
- Dawn (6/5): - Bit out date . Had a musty odor with some mold on ceiling but clean and plenty hot water . Had a fire alarm kept beeping the first night . Pool was nice and relaxing . Restaurant next door bit outdated snd had same musty odor. Overall staff very pleasant.
- Verified traveler (2/5): It great - The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The room smelled musty and very bad . It was dark and damp and just felt yucky. Needs serious updating .
- Evelyn (8/5): - Great choice for an overnight stay.
- maria (10/5): - Great place
- Anthony (8/5): - I think the breakfast setup can be a little better. Scrambled eggs and a waffle machine would help brighten breakfast at a low cost.
- Charlotte (4/5): - THE ROOM WAS VERY Damp anyAND smelly.
- Kim (10/5): - The staff here were very friendly. They had ice water, coffee, hot chocolate, and popcorn available for free. The continental breakfast was good. The swimming pool was the best. Loved the hot tub too.
- Diane (8/5): - Loved the porch but the rooms felt damp.
- Joseph (10/5): - We have stayed at many different hotels in the Lancaster area, but never at the Country Inn. It is now one of our favorites! Easy entrance and exit with traffic light. Very quiet with easy parking. Very secure with key card access into the other outside building entrances and rooms. Rooms are clean. Beds are great and we loved the shower.
- Nancy (8/5): - We had a nice stay.
- Kathy (10/5): - Wonderful
- Lisa M. (10/5): - I really l loved sitting on the porch and relaxing in the chairs and the rocking chairs, everything was clean the two young men who was on the day I came at 3:45 -3:58 August 8. they were so pleasant and helpful to me and two my people who came with me.
when I checked out on August 9th the young ladies were very pleasant as well. Also we were leaving and the houskeeper stop us because my friend who was with me left her watch in the room. and they gave it to her. we love the honesty.
we really enjoyed and we also enjoyed sight and Sound.
Lisa M.
- Colleen (8/5): We almost always stay here... - It's not the best but the people are lovely and we've stayed here many times. The beds are ok, I'm disabled and my back is always painful so it's the availability of a hot tub that counts. There are games available in the lobby and usually fresh popcorn there as well. They have free coffee, tea, cocoa there also almost always available. Pass on the continental breakfast...
- Wendy (10/5): - Good stay, nice place. Little dated not much breakfast options.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great place to stay
- John (10/5): - Older style property but very clean and the staff were wonderful
- Vanessa (10/5): - Great
- Barbara (10/5): - room smelled musty when we first came in
- Sylvanne (6/5): - Smelly because of humidity in the rooms
- Judith (2/5): Donât make a mistake you get what you pay for. - We got to the Hotel late 11:30. We had no trouble checking in but when we opened the door to the room it smelled like a moldy musty basement. We could hardly breathe and each breath felt toxic. We told the young woman at the desk and she could do nothing but shrug her shoulders and offer us some Lysol. I kid you not. We opened the window but got very little relief until the next day. The beds were clean but old and uncomfortable. The decor was 1980âs country not cool Amish Farm style. It was pretty dismal. I could not understand where the smell was coming from. I smelled the rug but it did not smell like the room did. Maybe it was just shut up for a long while. It was awful. The breakfast was disappointing as well. Tasteless bagel and prepackaged foods. It wasnât near anything Amish if that is the experience you are looking for. The pictures looked so much better. I didnât even bother with the pool, I didnât want to be anymore disappointed than I already was. I canât imagine I could have made a poorer choice. The Clarion has more ambiance. The view was even terrible an parking lot with a view of a back of a building. I am so mad I chose this hotel. It nearly ruined my whole vacation. If your looking for cheap the Clarion at least has some history and good views.
- Joseph (10/5): - Close to AMT Theater, shopping
- linda (6/5): - All the staff was very nice and helpful. The room smelled musty though and needed a good cleaning and updated
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Kathy (10/5): - Really good option for a weekend stay. Staff is pleasant. Lots of parking. Many choices for dining
- Missarrom (8/5): - Was clean but the room smells strange I think is the carpet I opened the window to refresh the air. Breakfastâs area is too small and only one small toaster.
- richard (10/5): Nice Place - We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, affordable, very homelike and convenient. Everything was great from the check-in to the checkout. We would definitely stay here again when we visit the Lancaster area.
- Kamran (8/5): - Over it is clean and staff was friendly. But it was little expensive.
- Bobbi Jo (10/5): - The shower head needs more pressure the toilet kept running and the light in bathroom was a strobe. Other than that we will be back wonderful experience otherwise
- Donna (7/5): Clean and convenient - The place is well taken care of and convenient. The rooms seemed a little damp. Once we had the air on it seemed better.
- Linda (9/5): Location is convenient to Lincoln Hwy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. - The location is so convenient to entering and exiting onto Lincoln Highway. Great to have a traffic light out of the hotel driveway! The decor is dated, sheets thread bare, but that would not deter me from staying here again.
- Gil (5/5): Passable - 1. location.
2. lobby.
3. staff. 1. very bad smell in the room (it looks like the air condition filter wasnt clean for years).
2. breakfest was minimal.
3. mattress and bed were very uncomfortable.
- Tammy (4/5): - Would not stay again. Damp in room
- mariemt0518 (4/5): Would not recommend this in - I picked this hotel and had high hopes. I didnât want to go to a chain hotel while in Lancaster. There were several things I was not impressed with. I will say that the room is dated but I knew that going in and I was fine with it. Also, the bathroom was very clean . However, the room was musty. We checked in on Wednesday and came back Thursday night and Friday night with no changing of towels, bed made or rug vacuumed. My husband went down to the front desk and was told they only clean the room on a two day schedule so our room was not scheduled to be taken care of until Saturday. The towels were not changed out. I donât mind using a towel for more than one day. However, there were no hooks on the bathroom door to hang the towels so we had towels trying to dry them all over the room. My husband spoke to the front desk and we were told we could request them and then throw the other ones outside the door, Then, at 2 a.m. in the morning a light shining on the parking lot came on and was shining right into the room. I understand the need for lights in parking lots but to come on at 2 a.m.???? Most people have already gone through the parking lot to get to their room. I will say the front desk clerks were all very pleasant. I wonât be staying here again and would not recommend it.
- Micheal (2/5): - The room smells of bad mold irritate my not and eyes got sick to the stomach just walking into the room
- Gemma (10/5): - I've stayed at this hotel many times and love it just as much. My nephews love this hotel too. There is always friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are nice and quiet and I feel safe that guests need to enter with their room key. Very safe.
- Mary (6/5): - I picked this hotel and had high hopes. I didnât want to go to a chain hotel while in Lancaster. There were several things I was not impressed with. Above there was a question about staff and service, I felt the staff at the front desk was more than pleasant and helpful. However, I didnât feel the service was satisfactory.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (8/5): - Larger hotel than I thought. The restaurant was right next door. Continental breakfast was ok. The place had a "Cracker Barrel restaurant" vibe. The beds were comfortable. We didn't go into pool, though it was attached to our building.
- Anonymous (7/5): We had a very nice visit. The pool and jacuzzi made it worth it. It was easy to get in and out on t - It had a good grab and go breakfast.
Pool was very nice.
Shower was very nice. The room had a slight musty smell or something.
Blueberry muffins were not great.
The bathroom was a little small to move from shower out around toilet.
- Alonte (10/5): - Has a great experience and will be back soon
- Patricia (9/5): Had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. - The room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. More room in the breakfast room.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Property was old but clean and taken care of. I will suggest they brighten it up especially the hallway
- Aida (8/5): - Great location, comfortable and well priced. Appreciated the LVP flooring, so much more hygienic than carpeting.
- Kristine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (10/5): - This propertybis very cleand and homey. Very close to everything. Less than a 6 minute drive down the road to the outlets and restaurants. The pool was a nice touch just a little cold ( non heated) butb they do have a hot tub. Overall a great stay would stay again!
- Carol (6/5): - Staff was friendly
Room was ok
Bathroom- floor gets soaked taking shower, curtain does not stay closed, needed extra towels for floor.
Toilet seat broke, unable to fix, staff not able to reach manager
Door to room left open after housekeepinwas there.
Was told ar check in, housekeeping would not be in during our stay,so thankful for the one time. Went to front desk forthe other days
One of knobs on dresser was off( not a problem),Someone glued it back on, luckily glue that ran down front did not get on clothes in drawer below,as that was partially open,
- Thomas (6/5): - Dark and dingy. Outdated.
Bathrooms were updated and nice, but nothing else
- Denise (6/5): It was fine for a one-night stay. - Good location Old, worn, very rough around the edges. Breakfast was paltry.
- Melanie (8/5): Nostalgic flashback - Property was conveniently located to ample shopping and restaurants. Sight and sound theater only 3 miles away. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. However the room itself was very dated and had a horrible musty odor. The bathroom was updated.
- Holly (8/5): Very good - Easy checkout in, good location, plenty of parking, the pool and hot tub The beds are not comfortable maybe because they are spring and we are use to foam
- Casey (8/5): Very good -
- Vickie (8/5): Very good -
- Bettyann (10/5): - I was a little worried when I read reviews about a mold smell, but I was very pleased when I entered the room - it smelled fresh - looked clean - very large - no carpeting which I love - my mom especially loved the little outdoor porch with rocking chairs - we used the pool and hot tub - seemed very clean - only thing was that young kids are using the hot tub even though the posted sign says 15 and older - I blame the parents for that though - otherwise, we really liked it there and the restaurant right next door was excellent and would even deliver to the room - the property was much bigger than we thought from the photos. It's close to many restaurants, the outlets, and the Sight and Sound Theater, which we were there for. We loved the hotel and the show (Noah's Ark) - AMAZING!!!!! The lobby has fresh made popcorn and 24 hour coffee, tea and juice. The building we stayed a bit of a distance from the main lobby but we had the 24-hour coffee, tea and juice right down the hallway, as well as breakfast in the morning - cheese sticks, yogurt, little fruit cups, cold and hot cereal, excellent blueberry muffins, plain bagels with butter, jelly - even PB and cereal bars.
- Stephanie (8/5): - The property was quite nice and had a homey feel to it. The bathroom looked newer and was very clean. We had enough towels and extra pillows. The air-conditioning worked well which was nice on a very hot and humid day.
The only thing i didnt like was the mattres. It was hard and needed to be rellplaced.
- Kristy (8/5): Very good - We have been staying at this hotel for many years. We love the right at home vibe.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Wish had room that had outside seating Kind of expensive
