Comfortable and has everything you need.
Can hear birds and wildlife all around.

- BRENDA IRIS (10/5): - lurve.the bungalow design and layout..all the beds was comfy so was the sofa bed and seats in the master bedroom ...highly recommended for big family..fantastic view oya the internet was not working despite the right password has been keyed in tchhh what a bummer
- Reeve (7/5): Very natural, picturesque location. - The location. Very natural and quiet. Restaurant was good. No fridge, WiFi or working television. Cottages were basic but adequate.
- Lian Ling (10/5): -
- Andreas (9/5): Gute Lokalität für 2 bis 3 Nächte - Unser Cottage in der schönen Umgebung
Lage des Restaurant mit fantastischen Blick Dusche ist mau
Frühstück nicht inclusive

- Masni (3/5): This area is too far from Kundasang. its abt 1 hour away. - Beautiful scenery Not clean
Old furniture with smell
Alot of insects
Bathroom mats are dirty
Water heater not so hot
Upon check in, there were so many big ants all over the house. Big cockroaches found in the toilet… huge spiders in the dining and kitchen walls.
Kids were frantically screaming when they saw all those.
- Nicolas (8/5): Peaceful Nature Retreat - The resort is surrounded by nature and tea farm, and you can see Mount Kinabalu in the distance.
Had a short chat with the staff they're friendly with strays. They feed most of them, and you’ll mostly see cats, while dogs only appear occasionally. It's really kind of them to do that.
- Sharon (7/5): Quiet respite - The quiet calm after the hustle and bustle of the highway was welcome. The staff were wonderful. I would have liked access to a fridge.
- Andrew (6/5): - We stayed in a cottage which occupies 1/4 of a single storey building. There is a sitting area and a bedroom with 2 beds. There is air conditioning and a fan. The facilities are fairly basic but clean. The restaurant is an 8 minute walk away, which is a pleasant walk, but make sure you take a torch. I enjoyed hiking in the grounds of the plantation although it is a long hot walk and you will need to take water. The cottage would really benefit from a fridge. There are no alcoholic beverages available at the restaurant.
- Jah Farsai. (9/5): You will likely need your own vehicle to get there. - Love that it has a living room. Good size cottage. The surrounding area was beautiful. Has restaurant and gift shop. Good place to buy tea. The facilities could be improved, the AC was loud.
- Michelle (7/5): - Loved the views. The best early morning views around.
we enjoyed learning about the tea.
Restaurant staff super friendly. Prices of food did seem expensive.
- Sharon (8/5): - It was very quiet and peaceful after the busy road trip. The restaurant staff were great, and we enjoyed our meals there. The facilities are jaded, but suited our needs.
- Richard (10/5): - Lovely stay. Beautiful sunset. Very helpful restaurant made us a packed breakfast for an early departure. Unfortunately the tea factory plant wasn't open when we arrived, so we couldn't look around.
- Johanna (8/5): Sfeervol verblijf! - Mooi cottage met zitbank. Sfeervolle omgeving. Jammer dat er geen ontbijt aanwezig is.
- Sabria (8/5): Very good - I love everything here. Definitely will come again The breakfast time probably should be made earlier than the current time. 8am for me is a bit late for visitors to have breakfast and in this area we can't get any food even outside the resort. We are losing time by waiting until it's open tho. I hope the management could consider this so that our stay here will be more convenient.
- Jiri (10/5): Amazing place for short stays. - Property is settled in beautiful nature surrounded by tea plantation with direct view to Mount Kinabalu. Challets are extremely good value for money, clean and comfortable. Restaurant offered very tasty food with very good quality at reasonable prices. We stayed there just one night when we were transferring from Kinabalu national park to Sepilok, but it was a great choice. We would wished to spend one day more there to explore the surroundings. Transportation to and from the property is recommended to be secured ahead. Buses can be used in both KK and Sandakan direction. Property is too far from the big cities so there is no Grab coverage and property doesn’t seem to be cooperating with local taxi service,
however they are happy to give you a lift to the bus stop on the main road.
- Rodrigo (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful up here
Don't miss it
- Lindsey (9/5): We're going back. Beautiful place - Beautiful, serene location
Relaxing
Good restaurant Hard to find long houses, poor signage
Tour guides playing radios on buses, loud, at 6am
- Anette (5/5): Passable -
- Rhian (8/5): Very good -
- Vivien (9/5): We stayed at the longhouse and enjoyed the unique experience and peaceful environment - Beautiful and peaceful location, helpful staff, simple but functional and clean, nice food My kids were scared of the many stray dogs there, they often were near the restaurant and barked and seemed a bit aggressive … was a struggle to get my kids into the restaurant.
Ladies toilet didn’t got cleaned in 3 days and one was clogged up and stinking.
- Chin (8/5): Very good -
- Jeannievia (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - The environment and facilities
- Yusof (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khuzaimah (9/5): Superb - Spacious. Big family area & very nice open space looking up the mount kinabalu Bugs.. but it's expected as its surrounded by nature. But the rooms are clean & free from bugs.
Bathroom for master bedroom can be improve. Aliran air tersumbat.
- Nurfaezah (9/5): Superb -
- Ainah (4/5): Disappointing -
- Elisabeth (9/5): Superb - It was quite basic and rustic but this made it a really interesting experience. There are interesting activities around and I am glad we stayed there for a night on our way from Sandakan to KK. We enjoyed an early sunrise walk in the surrounding and liked the experience on the tea resort.
- Dzmitry (10/5): Exceptional - amazing view
- Yi (7/5): Good -
- Terry (8/5): Not bad for a budget stay. - Great location and circumstances. facilities need to br improved.
- Luketina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanna (8/5): Very good -
- Ciem (6/5): Perfect View, Be Ready to sacrifice everything else !!! - Its a Location which would beat all other missing points with this proprty.
You can wake up to the mesmerizing view of Mount Kinabalu and Cloud covered forest below you!! - No Room Service / Cleaning
- No WiFi
- All other facilities extremely basic compared to price :(
- Radek (9/5): Superb - very nice experience to spend a night in the longhouse, a traditional way of living of Malajsian people
- Anni (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (2/5): Would not stay again - Scenery was wonderful Cockroaches in the room crawling inside the cases, geckos also in room. Staff in restaurant were not hospitable and when they called time on service for us continued to serve the next table.
WiFi is also extremely poor.
- Christopher (9/5): Great fun staying in the long house - I stayed in the long house which was great fun for two nights. The mosquito nets held up great and it was useful having a sink in the bedroom. The restaurant is a good 5-10 mins walk away but it was nice to get the fresh air. The food is decent. You can also organise various tours - I did one of the tea factory and I could then wander around the plantation The pillow was rock hard so I had to create my own using spare towels and bedsheets (I was staying by myself).
The wall to your neighbours are actually just partitions so you can hear them if they’re loud (but I was lucky that they weren’t).
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Lara (10/5): Absolutely wonderful. I didn't want to leave. - This was an incredible place. We spent a night in the longhouse and ate in the restaurant. The longhouse was brilliant. It was so exciting to have this experience and it was far more well appointed than we expected with sinks and lights in each room! The open air restaurant that looks out over the tea gardens and Mt Kinabalu is in a stunning setting and the food was delicious..None of us wanted to leave!
- Jimmy (10/5): Incredible! - A treasure in the mountains - if you are looking for absolute beauty and tranquility, this is the place for you. It is clean, has welcoming, kind staff and has an excellent restaurant. The views of Kinabalu are amazing, you can listen to the birds sing and have your morning tea surrounded by the tea fields. We wished we could have stayed longer! Having to leave!
- Dc_aust (6/5): An attempt at a traditional village that lacked authenticity and value for money. - The 'Longhouse' was an attempt to recreate a village feel. The wide veranda, traditional decorations and split bamboo construction could have been a traditional Malay village. The 'longhouse' was a windowless building split into ten 'rooms' by internal partitions. There was no ceiling and the veranda lighting prevented a good night's sleep. Each room had three single mattresses and three mosquito nets. There was almost no storage. Toilets and showers were in a separate building with no hot water. Meals could be purchased at the Sabah Tea Gardens Restaurant 640 metres away. We were the only guests at the Longhouse and, at the time, the only guests at the restaurant. Despite a cook and three staff on duty, the meal seemed to be pre-cooked and warmed to order. It was the worst, and most expensive meal on this trip to Sabah. The accommodation was over-priced for what was provided.
- Nathaniel (8/5): Very good -
- (jpa) (9/5): Relaxing and refreshing. - Like the cottage stay and the landscape of the garden. Would be better if there is water dispenser in the lobby area.
- Yen (8/5): Very good -
- Nsiambun (9/5): Recommended stop before heading to Sandakan. - Location. This place is a good location to break the journey between KK and Sandakan (if not in a hurry). The room is comfy, good food, friendly staff & view. Probably can improve by giving shower gel instead of bar soap, and the pillow is a bit too thin.
- Katie (8/5): Simple accommodation in a stunning location. -
- Kait (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cunningham (8/5): Excellent stop I’ve on the way to Sandakan - Clean, quiet and good air con. Tea House restaurant was excellent. Nothing
- Nisha (9/5): Perfect locations with some wonderful views - Lovely spacious cottages with much needed air conditioning. Definitely need a car to get there and travel around.
- Ritnie (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (9/5): Idyllic - Beautiful location with lovely views over surrounding tea fields against a backdrop of Mount Kilabalu. We stayed in a cosy cottage - the longhouse was a bit of a challenge for our spoiled old bones! Very reasonable price. Nice dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Lovely gifts in the shop. Wonderfully cooler and less humid than lowland Sabah. Signposting to the reception is a little tricky. Restaurant is 8-minute (nice) walk from the overnight accommodation. Remote rural location, so don't expect exciting evening entertainment.
- Amy (8/5): Very good - Pemandangan gunung dr restoran cantik..jln raya ok No view at cottage
- Myo (9/5): Superb -
- Nadzri (8/5): Very good -
- Minus (8/5): Very good -
- Dinah (8/5): It's a quiet place. Appropriate for relaxing.. Suitable for family - Good location, Nice view Small Shower room
- Clarice (10/5): Enjoy the trip and stay at this place. - The place was really huge and suitable for big family gathering. The house and surrounding was clean. The mount Kinabalu view was amazing,it is a private area and u will enjoy the privacy.Definitely will come back.

- Tecilia (10/5): Exceptional - Tv not working properly 😆
- Matong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chong (8/5): Very good -
- Zhe (9/5): Superb -
- Jauris (9/5): It’s okey but more expensive - Expensive
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - I loved the location - it was so pretty and peaceful. I paid a significant single supplement, but I knew this when booking.
- Aniii (10/5): Nice view - Nice location. Nice view Food expensive
- Vera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edwina (8/5): Very good -
- Yugeeta (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and peaceful place for holiday ✨️ Overall all is good, just the food in the restaurant pricy
- Cara (10/5): Great family experience of a longhouse stay - Didn't have high expectations due to other reviews but staff were great and longhouse was a brilliant experience. we all slept really well, bathrooms clean and for the price a bargain! evening meal options not great but not far to drive (or Grab) for local options.
- Salmi (4/5): Disappointing - Rm400++ for a room of 4 is dorm like room. Bamboo wall and floor with 3 mattress and mosquito kelambu. Outside toilet. Not suitable for family with children. Have to upgrade to change to normal room. Didn't expect to get dorm like room
- Mitchell (9/5): Great! - Clean and unique. Love the design of the long house. Bathroom is too faraway from the room. The room also shakes when people walk on the bamboo floor. I was disappointed no WiFi in the room.
- Ilaria (10/5): A must-to-do experience - This place is simply amazing. One of the best sunset in Sabah, great view and the staff super friendly. We slept in the loghouse, a must-to-do experience! Absolutely nothing
- Kiran (7/5): Good -
- Fatin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fatin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): very recommended! - very good, very like it none
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Faraz (10/5): peace of mind and spirit - If you want serenity go here and ask for the mountain facing cottage, beautiful and there is an amazing cafe for breakfast / lunch / dinner.
we enjoyed every moment and regretted not staying a day more. nothing to say on this.
- Christty (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was clean and comfty No hair dryer
- Kong (10/5): Peaceful and Relaxing - Good view overlooking Mt Kinabalu No negative points
- Jackson (6/5): Pleasant -
- Emma (7/5): a unique experience - the longhouse had lots of character and the views were fantastic the restaurant was not great and breakfast didn’t start until 8am which is late for those staying in the longhouse- the rooster wakes you up very early. it would be good even to have self serve tea/coffee available before 8am
- Anna (8/5): great ‘once only’ experience for me and my family as we traveled around Sabah! - it was extremely authentic! sleeping in a longhouse is an experience I won’t forget. the views from the restaurant of Mount Kinabalu in the morning were exceptional! the light in the longhouse was on all night which was good for those who needed to use the bathroom, but not great for sleeping.
