Guest Reviews
- Jesenia (6/5): - The staff were super friendly and nice. Bathroom was very small and dirty. Bed was dirty as well. We ended up checking out. Lots of bugs.
- Mario (10/5): - The staff very kind. They really care about your wellbeing
- stephanie (8/5): - Location is a plus , restaurant next door definitely made the stay enjoyable . OUTDATED in need of renovations.
- Surekha (2/5): - Very unclean and old rooms . No proper ventilation . Just a window as and it never cools .
- Michelle (10/5): - Cristobal was awesome. Great value for what i paid and very clean. He made an exception despite my late arrival. The shower could use a remodeling. The hotel is very unique with a strong spaniard architectural design. The Cervantes room would be perfect if it was avaliable for coffee ☕️
- Ivan (10/5): - The place was great. I just felt like the rooftop was like a little. It's dirty from the bird poop and then, um, there was like cat food, laying out right On the rooftop, also our shower head didn't have enough water pressure. That was the only thing right? But other than that, the place is great.
- Anavanbosse (6/5): 2 nights in this hotel - This is a family owned hotel. It is very basic with no elevator and no hot water shower. It is within walking distance to a supermarket. Mostly young people stay here and even though there's a curview, we experienced loud noise at niggt when they made their way back to their rooms. The owner was nice but also somewhat crude in his remarks. When one of the young people complained about the lack of hot water.
- Catherine (10/5): - Stayed with my teen daughters felt very safe and had an amazing night off sleep after a long day of travels. Thank you 😊
- Michael (2/5): Iberia Hotel Beware - Rating this hotel a "1" is a stretch. The only redeeming value is the location which is one block from the Hilton Doubletree and across the street from a supermarket that has a great deli and coffee service and a short walk to the beach. Otherwise, you should consider the following when booking this hotel: No hot water (depending upon time of day and occupancy consumption), no functional TV, no elevator, no telephone in room, squeeky beds. and Noisy!. I asked the owner for some consideration (restitution) for the lacking amenities but his response was that he "couldn't". His defense was all of the political hardships he has endured since purchasing the 200 year old property 15 years ago. He is not willing to invest in his hotel; plain and simple. Don't be fooled by the attractive picture of the outdoor garden. We have been in the travel business for 50 years and this hotel does not even merit more than $35.00 per night! We paid $190.
- Herminio (4/5): - Rooms are to small, needs an upgrade, too much stairs and not safe. Water was a problem very low pressure. AC still a wall unit a too loud. Doors make too much noise at night and everything echoes. No parking,no fridge,no microwave, no hairdryer.
- Mileivi (8/5): - Good staff
- MICHAEL (8/5): - The service was amazing and was clean for old building
- Lorrie (8/5): - The proprietor is very nice and helpful. Personally directed us to park out front of the building.
- Dorian (10/5): - Everything
- Dragan (10/5): - The Location it’s great
- Hector (2/5): - Bad odors in al the property and always someone watshing you
- Jessica (2/5): - Nothing the owner does not even allow people to go in after midnight. Like what if it’s someone’s Birthdate
- Gilberto (10/5): - The people is very friendly and collaborative.
- Dorian (10/5): - Everything
- Hector (10/5): - Exceptional Hospitality at Hotel Iberia
I had an amazing experience at Hotel Iberia! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect.
A special shoutout to Cristobal, who went above and beyond to ensure I felt at home. His warmth, professionalism, and dedication to guest satisfaction truly set this hotel apart. Whether it was offering great local recommendations or simply checking in to make sure everything was going well, Cristobal made my stay unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a place with outstanding service and a personal touch, Hotel Iberia is the place to be. I can’t recommend it enough! I will definitely be returning.
- Chris (8/5): - Great. No complaints
- Cristina (8/5): Good stay for the price. - Hotel Iberia is exactly what it says it is. It
IS a 2/3-star hotel - so you're not expecting luxury, but after a day there, I did find the charm in it. It's got old PR vibes. The rooms are older, (mine was windowless) but its clean, and the host was helpful. :) Very easy to walk places.
- José L (2/5): - It was one of the worst hotels that I could think of in the last 25 years of staying all around the world it’s not even worth half a star
- Daniel (2/5): - Roof leaking into room
Dirty or stained sheets
Entire room doused with febreeze
Tiny rooms, old and neglected property
Certainly not worth $150 a night
- IDA (10/5): Buena localización. - Personal amable y buena localizaciōn
- Paul (6/5): - No shampoo and conditioner and the air conditioning is very noisy.
- Barbara (6/5): - Not very clean. Bathroom was nasty
- Jorge (8/5): - Great staff and the owner Cristobal an excellent person.
- Angel (4/5): - The room was very small and the hotel is in need of some serious renovations. It’s outdated and the sheets had stains.
- German (10/5): - Cozy and warm place, close to everything.
- Bonnie (4/5): - It was just for a night before flight out of PR. Not very comfortable and very dated. No coffee in Room or fridge. Bell kept ringing in halls late at night and I have no idea why.
- Shaneen (2/5): Don’t do it… - We were unable to stay here. It was the worst hotel experience we have had. Will be disputing the charge with my credit card as we had to stay somewhere else for the night.
- CASANDRA (10/5): - Good place to stay
- Herbert (4/5): - Not worthed the money paid ($190.00/night)
- Anna (10/5): - The staff and owner were very helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. We loved our stay!
- Oriana (10/5): - Is good for a night or two, excellent restaurant, wonderful friendly stuff
- Allan (4/5): - One of the worst hotel I've been. Pillows has no cover so you see the dirt like a map. Still have some strand of hair on the bed itself.
- Jay (10/5): - The owner and staff are good. The hotel is abit outdated but a good bargain. A few blocks to the beach and next door to a grocery. Visit the birds an friendly cay on the terrace.
- daniel (10/5): - Owner Christopher is a good resource. Roof patio has friendly blue-eyed cat. Bus to Old San Juan (75 cent ride) is two block walk. Plaza Mercado with plenty of live music is 15 minute walk. This is a no frills hotel- depends what you’re looking for. Easy access to grocery store, restaurants, museums— by foot.
- Yaniv (10/5): - The cleanest budget hotel in the Condado area!!!
- yugu0y (8/5): A nice place for short stay - Stay for 2 nights. A nice little old place to stay with friends.
Don't consider it as a hotel, but more consider as a guesthouse or inn since they changed it from residence to hotel. The owner is kind and helpful, providing advice for touring the city.
The room is in carribean stye, not really sophisticated but gives you a feeling of old and traditional family. Moderate cleaning condition.
Good location that's near many good places to chill or eat. There's a 24h supermarket right next to it so you can buy whatever you want. There's also self-service laundry near but we didn't try it since it's a short stay.
- suelen (2/5): - Muy poca agua en la ducha
- Julie (10/5): - The staff and the hotel make you feel like home.
- Trevor (10/5): - It’s a quaint area with respectful and knowledgeable staff. Definitely wouldn’t mind coming again when coming to PR.
- Elcon (4/5): - After making the booking and got there at 2:00 am
They said the hotel sold out it cause me $65.00 on taxi fare to get there and back to the airport
So I have to stay at the airport with my 5 year old
You ask for a review you then you reject it and want me to say something else
- Derick (10/5): - everything was clean & nice
- Heidi (8/5): - Cute and comfortable, vintage old world style. Has so much charm.
- Maria (2/5): - La persona del front desk no tiene educación fue muy desagradable, todo muy sucio
- MARITZA (2/5): - I found this place under you site but when I showed it was nothing at all of what you showedvin every picture. First my daughter have disabilities and this room aeas on a b2nd
- Dempsey (10/5): - Great property very historic feel owners is welcoming and engaging
- Jose Miguel (4/5): - No parking; AC not working
- Austin (6/5): You get what you pay for - The bad:
- Dried earwax on the shower curtains
- Cannot throw toilet paper in the toilet
- No glass window (only metal shutters that have to stay shut when A/C is on)
- Only 1 outlet for charging devices
- Only 1 temperature from faucet
The good:
- Relatively cheap for location
- Beds are clean
- Owner is nice
- Locked front doors
- Alain (6/5): - Bed cloth was not fresh.
- Pedro (10/5): - Excellent peaceful place. Perfect area for just walking and enjoy around.
- Joseph (2/5): - They won't let me check in. I'm cold
- Victor (10/5): - Great place
- Travis (2/5): - No hot water!!!
- Krista (4/5): - There were tiny bugs crawling on the walls and table, the window was covered and couldn’t be opened, there were stains all over the bedding. No hot water. The staff was very nice but I would not recommend staying here.
- John (2/5): - Very inflexible reservation policy. Due to inbound airline cancelation i was unable to make my reservation for 3 nights. I immediately contacted Iberia so they could re rent the rooms. I understand having to pay for the 1st night but they refused even a partial refund on nights 2 & 3. Horrible customer service
- Jing (6/5): - There were so many mosquitos flying around in the hotel and we all got a lot of mosquito bites during the staying. The hotel should provide mosquito repellent device in each room.
- Amba (2/5): - I have been to PR many times, I have NEVER had poor water pressure or had no water in a hotel room. Then when I asked I was told “the city turned the water pressure down due to construction”. There was no alternative given or a simply we apologize for the inconvenience. I had to ask for gallons of water to shower and brush my teeth. How is a person supposed to shower when the water is not running or trickling down on the shower wall????
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Overall good, for our budget stay.
- Thomas (4/5): - This appears to be an old-fashioned "mom & pop" hotel. Beautiful indoor plants throughout. Lots of Puerto Rican charm and character. Very clean. But, rooms are small, bathrooms out-dated, window AC units very noisy and all night noise from the street. Slatted windows covered with plastic only. It's a long walk to find a restaurant.
- Ildefonso Ayala (6/5): - The location is close to the nightlife area. A good alternative if you are going to stay most of the time out of the hotel.
- Myrmarie (8/5): - Staff is pretty great and is close to a grocery store and cheap to move around with Uber
- Gerald (6/5): - Ok place. Hot water was barely lukewarm though.
- Stephane (6/5): - The rooms are priced low to stay at. The property is an old estate converted to a hotel.
It is dated but was clean.
Christopher is very knowledgeable and helpful.
If you stay here ask him for advise of where to go in the area.
I would stay here again just because of the friendly staff here.
- Miguel (10/5): - Hotel was very clean. Limited parking.
- Sugata (10/5): - The check in was great, parking particularly was convenient.
- Enrique (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very clean and conveniently located
- Mitchell (8/5): - CLEAN
- Walter (6/5): - hotel average...
- Saura N (8/5): - Staff was friendly and professional.
- Orlando (10/5): - Great Service and Attention!!
- Kerline (8/5): - It was a great stay! Thank you for everything!💌
- K126AVemilyc (8/5): Charming and Conveniently Located - This charming and rustic little jewel nestled in the vibrant Condado neighborhood was a great find. Within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the beach, we truly enjoyed our time here. We loved spending time on the rooftop. The grocery store is just a block away, too. The rooms are small, but our family of four managed just fine. The premises were clean and quiet, and we felt safe the entire time.
- REIMY (6/5): - Is ok for the money everything is expensive in the island
- david (10/5): - liked this old timey hotel (122 years old) and Christopher Columbus (yes, it really is) is extremely helpful. he is 80 years old and insisted on carrying our bags up to second floor room.
- Edgard (10/5): - Pleasant and friendly staff makes you feel at home
Definitely we’re coming back
Thanks again for all the attention 😀
- Verified traveler (8/5): A gem! - The owner is AMAZING - he takes such pride in his hotel. It is like you are staying in his home. It has the flavor of Puerto Rico and location is perfect. If you are looking for lots of luxury and all the amenities - this hotel is not for you. We stayed two nights and were pleased but also happy to move to a comfy hotel - at a much higher price. Would stay there again - great internet and TV.
- Samuel (10/5): - My favorite place to stay, close to everything I need within walking distance to market restaurants the beach and a short drive to the airport. Cristobal at the front desk is a lovely man he made me feel at home it was a pleasure to visit and affordable this is my second time staying here and I look forward to coming back soon!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Superb location, funky environs - Excellent location. 4 blocks from beach and right near Condado area. Next to SuperMax market. Easy walk down Wilson Ave for restaurants and shopping.
- Kurt (10/5): - Colonial Spanish feel with a spectacular roof deck. Christophe was amazing!!!
- sundar (4/5): - .
- Carlos (6/5): - Thrifty; centrally located, safe, small, and very plain. Just what I wanted for the money.
- Amanda (10/5): Great location for great value - The hotel is located in a great location. The double room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The property is well maintained and the owner is so wonderful and helpful and was able to offer great advice about what to do and where to go in the city and surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again!
- Michael Charles (10/5): - Very nice hotel.
- Jose (10/5): - In good area, it doesn't have parking, but there is a supermarket next to it and I left my car there without any problem
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was dirty and dusty
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelent
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Don’t even bother. Full of mosquitoes not up to par
- Felicia (6/5): - My flight was canceled and this was the cheapest i could find. They only had 6 stations on the television and 3 of them were Catholic stations. There were also ants coming out of the electrical plug and everything was pretty outdated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It had a cool vibe. It was a little run down considering the amount of money they charged
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Definitely enjoyed my time there it was vey relaxing and convenient to the beaches and restaurants..highly recommended 🙂
- Martha M. (2/5): Unhappily Sad... - Was very disappointing bath rooms were not cleaned well, ants on sinks, no drawers to put your things, suckets falling. No generated, lights off for hours one day. Disgusting fridge n ice trays in kitchen area. Hard time getting tv to work. Stairs were scary. Linens can be better, carpets were very dirty. Location was good n hugo was decent.
- 962jasonv (2/5): Unkept, Unclean, Insects - Had a very poor experience at this unclean and unsanitary inn - was only able to handle it for one night. The price may be good, but I highly advise you to invest a little more money and stay at a more modern and clean hotel. The online pictures of this hotel are not accurate. The floors were dirty, long hairs everywhere, you can feel every spring in the mattress, the sheets were stained and felt like paper, I’m guessing the place hasn’t been updated in decades, and the swarm of ants was the last straw. I’m embarrassed to even admit I stayed here, but I think it’s important to warn travelers. When I alerted the manager of the ant infestation he agreed to give me a refund, but sent housekeeping to my room who sprayed ant spray and cleaned it up. Then the manager came into my room and said that because he didn’t see ants, he changed his mind and refused to refund my money. This place is not representative of the kind and courteous Puerto Rican community - buyer beware.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - NO RECOMIENDO EL HOTEL ES UNA POSILGA UN ANTRO DE HOTEL,UN HOTEL DE CARRETERA ESTA MEJOR,COCHINO LAS SABANAS CON PELO,EL COLCHÓN NO SIRVE NO SE PUEDE DORMIR JAMÁS LO HAN CAMBIADO DESDE HACE COMO 20 AÑOS,EL BAÑO SUCIO PAREDES PISO UN ASCO DE HOTEL,EL DUEÑO UN ESPAÑOL MAL EDUCADO GROCERO SIN EDUCACIÓN CUANDO LOS HUÉSPEDES LE INDICAN QUE ESTÁ SUCIO LAS HABITACIONES QUE SON UNA ASQUEROSIDAD SE MOLESTA INSULTA A LAS PERSONAS Y LE DICE QUE SE LARGUEN DE SU HOTEL QUE EL TIENE 40 AÑOS Y NO SE AGUNTA A NADIE Y MANDA A LA GENTE AL HOTEL DE ALFRENTE ES UN VIEJO
