- Linda (10/5): -

- Kurt (10/5): -
- Costantino (10/5): - One of the best experience of my life. Food was amazing, staff and service excelent. Safari Guides awesome, George and Gabriel exiplained us everything about Savana and animals, we spotted all the Big 5 with in a proper Safari way.
Really reccomended. All was perfect.
Rien
- Anton (6/5): Pleasant, but won’t be back. - Rooms need a revamp. Not what I expected with open plan as well. Too much traffic on the reserve for its size. I think 2 nights would have been adequate, not 3.
- RACHEL GEIGER (8/5): - Bom custo benefício
- Paolo (9/5): great time,excellent staff -
- Austine (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (10/5): Amazing, amazing, amazing. - The staff at Chisomo Safari Camp was exceptional. They were extremely accommodating to our group. Some examples
- There was a safari ride set up for us on the afternoon we arrived. We arrived at 3:00 and we were off looking for the “big 5” at 3:30PM.
- The Manager Thabo offered to have lunch available for us when we arrived from our drive up from Johannesburg
- On our last day, we had an early departure scheduled and Thabo accommodated us by having a full hot breakfast available much to our surprise.
- We had several in our group that had dietary restrictions. The kitchen staff made sure that breads and other items were specially prepared so they could enjoy their meals as well.
- Our guide and tracker(Matthew and Forget) did an exceptional job. They answered all of our many questions about the birds and wildlife. They pointed out things that we would never have spotted on our own as we drove down the roads and in the bush. By the end of our stay, they were as much a part of our group as those of us that were guests.
- The facilities are extremely well-maintained and enjoyable to stay at.
- Donald, who would walk us back with his torch every night in the dark, made sure that he learned exactly which units we were each staying in after the first night. He went out of his way to talk to us about the animals on the property and his concern for our safety; as well as our return for a visit in the future. Our group of 12 cannot think of one single thing we didn’t like about this camp.
- Nicole (10/5): Excellent tented camp! - Not our first time in the Karongwe reserve, but our first time at Chisomo. Fully tarred road from Hoedspruit to Karongwe and then only 15-20 minutes from the gate to the camp. This is an excellent tented camp, with lots of thought going into their tents. We even had electric blankets on the bed and hot water bottles on game drive (May). The tent was so comfortable, housekeeping is excellent. We could charge equipment in our rooms, wifi was excellent and streaming easy. Very impressive!
The food was all buffet style but of great quality. No complaints. Staff were friendly and service was great. Game drives have never dissapointed here and this trip was no different. With the skills of Polly and Eddie over 4 drives we had 3 leopard sightings, lion on kill sighting, cheetah on kill, rhino and the very special cheetah on foot.
We were so impressed, we booked again for next weekend. Not much to dislike! The towels were a little thin and some exit directional signage on the backs of the entry signage would be nice.
One thing to note is that a couple of the guides told us they only go off road for lions. Considering you pay a premium for a private reserve for the ability to go off road, this isn't ideal. It didn't seem to lessen our safari experience, but if it did in future drives, it would make us reconsider this reserve over reserves that go off road for all cats and wild dogs.
- Ly (10/5): Wonderful - Friendly staff and very welcoming. I appreciate the blanket and hot water bottle for the game drive during the cold months, the warm towel and drink after the game drive
- Tai (9/5): Tranquility! - It was my first time in a safari tent and I love it. It was an amazing experience. Friendly staff. The food was delicious. The stay made an effort to make gluten-free food for me. Thank you to all the admin and cooking staff The game drives were mazing! We were able to see the big five. Thank you to our Ranger and Tracker, Evans and Sondy.
The location is perfect. None
- F (10/5): - Funcionários atenciosos, ambiente tranquilo, comida deliciosa e games (Safáris) incríveis! Ótimo custo-benefício. Altamente recomendável.
- Aline (9/5): Superb - - Interior of the tents.
- Friendly staff - no covered safari cars when raining
- thick bush makes sightings more difficult
- Tomas (9/5): Superb - We met all big 5 in 24hours. Nice and friendly staff. Nice setting and dinner room
- Petrus (9/5): Superb -
- Uriarte (9/5): Superb -
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Excellent stay ! -
- Riette (9/5): Superb - Lodge Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ranger did not seem very enthusiastic like previous times we visited Karongwe.
- Genevieve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeannette (10/5): Exceptional - Glamping tent units were so nice and spacious. Such a cool experience. Guided safaris were great as well and saw so many animals UP CLOSE. Everything was on schedule. Food was fantastic with a huge variety. We never went hungry. Staff were wonderful and wish we had more time to chat with them and other guests. Can be chilly at night even with the heater. And chilly mornings so warm clothes is recommended. Wish we had a boma dinner and saw lions...but that's nature! We loved it.
- Lize (10/5): Exceptional - From our arrival to departure we received the best hospitality. The staff are very friendly and madr sure their guest has everything they need. The room is very spacious. We enjoyed the food, the staff and the whole setting. Nothing evwrything was perfect
- Dorothy (10/5): Rustic elegance - Extremely personable staff, warm and friendly. The whole camp resonates with a retro rustic elegance. The game drives are phenomenal. Nothing.
- Dppi (10/5): good experience - food was exceptional, staff attendance, experience
- Ronald (10/5): Fantastic! - The location, staff, food, accommodations and activities were excellent!
- Carlo (7/5): Fun, pleasant and adventurous - The service and the staff are absolutely phenomenal. Friendly, customer orientated, going out of their way to make your stay memorable. And they did.
The location of the place and the fact that you have animals outside your room door is a special feature that do not get in many places.
The main restaurant with the whole reception area are beautiful. I think for the money spent per couple per night you would expect rooms to be more upmarket (no aircon in the room) and the place in general to be more upmarket. For example, the game drive was phenomenal with amazing rangers going out of their way to give you an experience. However the lodge stocked one drink per person for sunset. They asked us what would we like to have prior the drive and we got exactly the one drink we chose as only one unit per choice was stocked. This is what I call "penny wise pound foolish": I have been to countless game drives and for that price you should get a variety of drinks and food in unlimited quantity (there is only so much you can eat and drink in 20 minutes anyway as eating and drinking is not allowed during the game drive but only during break).
- Javad (10/5): An awesome experience. - I really enjoyed staying there, Steven and Gilda were amazing very friendly, knowledgeable, problem solver and caring. Also the other staff like Raimondo and Matthew also were great. It was an excellent experience.
The way they were caring us, locating the lunch and dinner table. the occasions that we could have group Dinner and Lunches... was really good. Not any specific issue.
- Justin (10/5): - Chisomo was fantastic. The manager Steven (or Stephen?) was wonderful and ever present. Food was great and plentiful. Rooms were everything you’d want. The property - pool, walkways, dining area - were all very well maintained. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. All the activities were very well-executed and planned. Drivers/guides/trackers were wonderful (knowledgeable, friendly, professional, etc.). Highly recommended.
- Chiara (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Dg (9/5): great! enjoyed the game drives and the food. thanks - Rienie is amazing. the rest of the staff was also great. very friendly and Accommodating. always smiling
- Frank (10/5): absolutely lovely -
- Selina (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, knowledgeable guides and a fantastic kitchen and waiting staff. There were a lot of people walking around in different colourful shirts to the regular staff, and we could only assume they were some form of management. What was really disappointing was that they all seemed to important to even introduce themselves to guests, if they even spoke to you at all.
- Lihan (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb - Great place for viewing the wild animals...Big 5 everywhere 👍 Confusion over the all inclusive drinks package.
Initially the resort had no record of the option and secondly, only beer and house wine (not local wine...as initially stated) was included
- Ann (7/5): enjoyed our stay but 6 days too long - accommodation too large
- Gerhard (10/5): Chisomo, you can't go wrong - Game drives with Evans and Sondi was excellent. They really do their best to get us close to the big 5. The leopard and cheetah encounter was top class. Food was great. None
- Marjorie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely helpful staff
Wonderful game drives
Excellent food Nothing. Everything was very enjoyable
- Martin (10/5): Magic. It exceeded our expectations and was a very special experience - The whole experience was exceptional. The accommodation was top class and the food was excellent. The staff were fantastic, in particular our guide Rifus and our tracker Ernest.
It was a once in a lifetime experience but we would love to do it again some time. Everything was first class
- Elisabetta (7/5): Beautiful setting, comfortable stay - The dining area and lounge were super and the staff friendly and helpful The rooms were very basic, the toilets not private and the tents so close to each other you did not have great views from the balcony and more importantly you could hearing your neighbours talking and snoring in the night
- Timo (10/5): The staff make this place even more special! - The staff is what made this place even more special. Every single person working at the safari camp tries to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!
- Verified traveler (10/5): WOW! - Matthew And Freddy= legends! Great food! Maybe some live music at the bomo dinners would be a nice touch in future:)
- Tommy (10/5): Super location - The whole experience at Chisomo was superb from the lodge and staff, through to the game drives where we saw plenty of the animals.
- Jane (10/5): Amazing - Amazing stay, will recommend to all my friends. Game drives was awesome, excellent game rangers and all staff are very friendly. Great food too! Will go back
