• Mamaburd (8/5): A 3 star that needed a deep clean - The artwork, furnishing and exhibits in the common areas were well done. The cinnamon rolls at breakfast were fantastic! The bed was comfortable. My laundry came back perfectly. The filthy glass in the windows and furnishings in the lobby and other common areas. Housekeeping had to be watched. 2 of my pillows were so gross I asked them to be replaced; same with the mattress pad. I had to ask for hand towels and water repeatedly.

There rooms are big but suffocating as AC doesn't work. Everything you ask them them will say NO. Not worth the visit. Too expensive for the price

• Shavaf (1/5): DONT VISIT THIS PROPERTY!! - Nothing Place was full of dust. ( LOOK OUT THE IMAGES ) Staffs weren’t helpful. On the first room cleaning services, my perfume bottle got stolen which was never found. The whole management defended the house keeping staffs and never helped finding the missing items.

Im Holz waren Schnitzereien eingearbeitet. Das Bett war sehr bequem, ein Kanapee war auch im Zimmer. WLAN und Beleuchtung sehr gut, ebenfalls ein gut funktionierender Kühlschrank. Das Badezimmer war ebenfalls geräumig mit getrennter Dusche. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool war ausreichend groß, Liegebetten waren vorhanden. Das hauseigene Restaurant hatte ein ausgezeichnetes Angebot mit internationalen Gerichten, die vorzüglich zubereitet wurden. 1x gab es auch Buffet mit zahlreichen Variationen.

Extremely warm and friendly service in the restaurant, from housekeeping, the hotel porters and some of the reception team. A great little hotel shop crammed with quality goods at a good price. Excellent value for money and in a quiet area in the city. We had a disturbed first night as our room was directly under an active roof terrace with furniture being scraped etc. On taking it up with reception the next day, we were promptly moved to a quieter room on the same floor. The window in the bathroom didn't close completely and the mosquito netting was loose. Maintenance did attempt to sort this out straightaway but were unable to fix it. However, the mosquito plug ins supplied by the hotel were effective.

Although it would have been good to have made aware of it as option from the beginning. I loved the place. My only negative comment would be the main fron of house gentlemen. Absolutely zero smiles or welcome. We got a lovely drink but he was quite surly and ea h interaction was the same. It's hard as a lovely place and just maybe he had personal issues.

• Duncan (8/5): Highly recommended upscale hotel - Large rooms with good facilities and a comfortable bed, and good aircon. Grand looking old fashioned hotel with historical features. Decent location a short tuk tuk journey from the main sights. Good South Indian style breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. I was messaged twice before our visit asking for us to pay the full amount via a separate link, despite my reservation at Booking.com indicating that advance payment was not required. After the first time, they clarified that advance payment was not required so its annoying to be asked a second time - other people report similar concerns so I hope they can sort this out. I was also asked 4 times for time of arrival, when I had already provided - for such a large hotel, I dont see this being a key concern.

However, we came across few issues, the aircon was not functioning properly and the fan was only running at the full speed. Had to make multiple calls to get something from the housekeeping team. There were mosquitoes in the room that were allocated to us probably due to damaged mosquito net in the bath room. However, the staff at the reception (during the daytime) were very kind and helpful. Notably, the girl Varsha was very helpful. When we reported the challenges we had at the room (501), Varsha immediately got the room changed to another one, which was good and didn’t have the issues we had previously. Her simplicity and smile connects with customers. Morning breakfast was too good! We tasted 80% of the food that was on the buffet table, all were very tasty and fresh! Also, it would be helpful if the receptionist in the night shift be able to help if a customer approach them for assistance in getting a taxi during the wee hours.

Its when you look underneath the pretty furniture, its just another typical Indian hotel that lacks maintenance and a proper cleaning. The service standards are just adequate, the food is run of the mill. There're Auto rickshaws at the end of the driveway if you need one. Do not rely on Uber in this city. If I return to this city, I will chose another hotel.

They catered to our request to serve buffet dinner for 30, informing a few days before. All guests enjoyed the food. From GM Vinodh, Ramachandran, ArunRaj, Nagarajan, Sudhakar, Zahir, Venugopal all took care of the guests very well.

The rooms were elegant and comfortable, and you could see the attention to detail in every corner. location of the hotel was central and convenient as we visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple, we had a pleasant experience more so because of the staff as were friendly, helpful and efficient.
• sahenaim (10/5): Lovely hotel with even lovelier staff - Hotel was beautiful with a nice antique vibe. There were lovely wooden decorations all throughout the lobby, floors and on the room, which made for excellent photos. The staff were superb, especially K.Annam, N. Ajies, Surya Sri, Varsha and Arunrajprabu. All were extremely delightful and wonderful to talk with and made our journey that much more enjoyable. The hot water could have been hotter but it wasn't too bad, but the location is superb in regards to the Meenakshi Temple. Cleanliness was great on general and bathrooms were very nice too.

• smts321 (10/5): A wonderful night in Madurai - The room was cool, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom.clean with a lovely shower. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome from the moment we got out of the taxi. I was delighted to be offered a henna hand tattoo which was beautifully done by K. Varsha from the front desk. The buffet dinner and breakfast both offered a vast range of delicious food at a very reasonable price. If we travel to madurai again we know where to stay.

Since we don’t enjoy the feast, the bill feels expensive. However, staffs were warm and welcoming. Two person who stand out is Mr. Arunraj and Mdm. Annam.

• Jenny (10/5): Solid comfortable quiet helpful staff. Pool and garden were a treat. - Very comfortable room. Great bed. Quiet. Helpful desk staff sorted out an auto price problem with driver for us. Loved the pool and calm garden. Indian food excellent. Cater to western travellers choices for breakfast would be good. Perhaps some research into tourists tastes. White bread very poor and coffee could be better. That said if Indian food is taken at breakfast there is no problem, it is generous and tasty.

Cleanliness is also good and comfortable. Service from room boys and reception is really excellent and instant on calls immediately. Amenities provided in the hotel good. Quality of food provided in the restaurant is really excellent in taste and quality is also very good. Butter Cookies provided with coffee or tea are really good and tasty. During our stay we interacted with Arunraj in Restaurant along with his other team members - the services and guidance provided by him and his team are really very good. Finally, thanks to Karthik - Supervisor - who provided tasty cookies from his section of the JC Residency.
