- Jami (10/5): I have been here several times and will always come back. I recommend this hotel to all my friends. - Clean room, nice view and listening to the water. Unable to take a bath, no drain plug.

- Susan (10/5): Excellent from start to finish - Absolutely excellent from start to finish. The view was magnificent. The check-in was great and the room was very nice. You couldn’t have a better location!

- kristinTX1 (8/5): Rudely woken up at 9am by someone trying to open our door - We stayed here one night while passing through the area. Online listings showed a single queen room available, but when we walked into the office, we were told they only had kings and double queens. I mentioned that I could just book the queen online, and suddenly a single queen “became” available. Odd, but we went with it.
The room itself was quaint and fit the character of the western town. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view over the creek was beautiful. The only odd design choice was the sink being located in the main part of the room rather than in the separate toilet/shower area, which made brushing teeth and washing up a little awkward.
Unfortunately, we were rudely woken up at 9 am by someone very aggressively trying to enter our room. I'm fairly certain it was a cleaning person, though check-out wasn't until 11 am, so I have no idea why they'd be trying to clean our room so early. When I looked through the peephole, I saw it was a small man wearing a cap, so I wasn't about to open the door to confront him. He continued trying to open the door for 2–3 minutes before finally giving up. An hour later, when we were ready to depart around 10 am, I went to the office to find out what all the ruckus was all about, but it was locked and completely unattended.
We left feeling uneasy, and although the room and setting were nice, the unsettling experience means we probably wouldn’t stay here again.
- jonhS7249ZC (10/5): Perfect - They were very accommodating in getting us room last minute. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and of course they have an amazing view of the Chewuch River. The location is perfect, within a very short walk of everything Winthrop has to offer. We’ll definitely stay there again.

It was so sweet to sit on my balcony in the morning drinking coffee, soaking in the beautiful view with the sounds of a lovely river. This property is very nicely and carefully maintained. There is nothing I disliked about this hotel.

Fantastic location—just a three-minute walk to the restaurants. The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful, offering great restaurant suggestions that suited our dietary needs.
- JERRY (6/5): - The property was close to shops and restaurants, was clean and nice and would recommend but the toilet was tiny with the water level in the basin way too high (!).

- NHSMD1 (10/5): Great Place to Stay in Winthrop, WA - This was a lovely place to stay after visiting North Cascades National Park. We had driven through the park eastward, taking in the beauty and hiking some trails. Winthrop was the natural place to stay overnight and the Hotel Rio Vista was perfect. It had clean, comfortable rooms with a view of the river and we could easily walk to restaurants.

Couldn't be happier! We will for sure be back...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend - Excellent stay with family!
- Janis (10/5): Exceptional - Lose proximity to town. On the river. I always love watching the people floating the river, or the deer coming to the water to cool off. The staff is always accommodating. Its just a really comfortable place.. That is didnt get my adjoining rooms as is was promised.
- Melody (6/5): - The view & property was nice.
Busy weekend in town so we had no parking to get to our room all 4 nights we were there. Same bedding, nothing extra as far as soap etc. We were charged more than the advertised price, it was supposed to be a non smoking property, yet our neighbors chained smoked the entire time on the deck so we couldn't open our door or windows & it was in the mid 80's.
Beds were comfy, room was set up nice, but TV was very small and outdated.
- Marion (10/5): - I loved my room and the balcony overlooking the river. I loved the sound of the river while I slept and I felt safe enough to leave the door open with the screen door there. I loved seeing the bats flying over the river at night. I hope to stay again next July for the Blues Festival.
- Derek (7/5): Good -
- Dwight (8/5): - Good location, easy walk to town, great view & sounds of the river. Limited parking is a negative.
- Monica (10/5): - Very nice and clean. Near all shops and restaurants. East check in and out.
- Frank (7/5): Very expensive for that type of room. - Location No breakfast, very small soap.very
- Pamela (10/5): - Lovely view of the rivers, nice touches with interior wooden decor. My only complaint was that I had to park my new car on the street at night due to a full parking lot when we returned to our room at about 9pm. I would have felt more comfortable parking my car in the lot where I could easily see it.
- Paul S. (10/5): - The view from the rear balcony was wonderful!! Sitting out, drinking a cocktail and enjoying the river view was the best.
- Jacque (10/5): - While staff seems less than thrilled to see you, check-in/out was easy, property has nice view of deer in morning (on gravel bar) and easy walk into town.
- Susan (10/5): Perfect location, room, view, and the staff was wonderful - We loved everything! The room with it's balcony right above the river was beautiful and peaceful. The location is amazing....the town is right outside the door. Last but not least, the reception given when we arrived was so welcoming.

- David (10/5): Great place to stay - Very nice location quiet and well kept
- Hadas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dina (7/5): Good -
- Ruth (10/5): - Rooms on the tiver. Walkable town.
- Ian (10/5): - Great location on the water, fun cowboy-era motif and surroundings. Great amenities and location
- Ian (10/5): - Loved the property, the river views and the proximity to all the cool Winthrop scenery and ambiance
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Anatoliy (10/5): - Great view
- Kim (8/5): - Nice, clean room. I loved the little deck by the river.
- Kelly (10/5): View - It's my favorite place to stay. Nothing fancy, but it's clean, and the view from the balcony is priceless. We nicknamed it Deer Island.
- Linda (10/5): - It's always nice to stay here at the Rio Vista! The view of the confluence of the rivers is perfect and we were able to see the two fawns on the island.
I am constantly upset by the fact that when you turn the tv on it goes to Fox News. This is NOT a news station, but pure propaganda.
- Rebecca (10/5): - You just can’t beat being right by the river. We enjoyed sitting out on our balcony and relaxing to the sound of the river! It’s also nice that everything in town is walking distance!!
- Matthew (10/5): - Excellent
- David (10/5): Awesome - Awesome quiet place to stay, watched the deer along the river outside our deck
