The room was spacious. The room was very noisy, with persistent mechanical noise throughout the night that significantly disrupted sleep. The linens had a faint tobacco odor, which was unpleasant. In-room coffee was low quality, and overall the experience felt more like a motel than a high-end hotel.

Aida J (10/5): Oustanding Performance by the Staff, Clean and Great Location - The room was all very clean, comfortable and quiet. The lobby was a dream, the artwork is fantastic and it was the reason that compelled me to chose the hotel. The restaurant and bar were great, fabulous drinks by Kayla, who is a master mixer of dream cocktails and syrups, and a delicious lobster bisque. The staff was professional, friendly and accommodating. I was impressed by their dedication to make my stay a wonderful experience. At the reception, Michaela Munoz was warm and kind, she made me feel at home. Tyler Watson gave me great advise about how to get around town and places to go, he really should be a Navigator but I was lucky he was at the reception during my stay. I would recommend the hotel simply because the staff is fabulous, they made me feel very welcome and I highly recommend them.

Venture44487023406 (2/5): Stay away from this pathetic hotel - The perfect example of the complete demise of the Marriott brand. The entire hotel smells like sewer gas. The TV's go in and out. Management was not aware that the TV's were pixelated. Yet the lobby TV's right in front of him were. Maintenance just came to reset my TV. See attached. Read the bad reviews. They are accurate.

To accommodate an early check in they gave us a room with a view of the boilers. It was the only room with that view. However, the staff did let me know this at the time.

Maria (10/5): - The building is absolutely gorgeous! They have so much history about how it used to be a bank and they even have old vaults set up as meeting rooms. The lobby is breathtaking and they have the original murals on the walls. My boyfriend and I went for our 1 year anniversary and the staff were so nice and gave us free drinks and free access to the lounge. I was able to add late check out for only $50 extra and it was definitely worth it. Absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Denver. It’s right next to downtown and it’s so easy to get around and there’s tons to do within walking distance of the hotel!
louisepM7971CR (4/5): Very rude bartender, Kristina - We often stay at this hotel when we have appointments in Denver. Most of the staff are extremely nice, especially the valets! We also really like the lobby bar,well we did before last night after the Broncos/Bills game. We were served by a bartender named Kristina. We asked her for a shot, and she relied “this is a nice bar, we don’t have flavored liquor here”. Mind you, we just had the same liquor at the Ritz in New Orleans (which is a much nicer bar) a few weeks early. She could have simply said that they didn’t have the liquor and offered something else. When we were leaving I asked if I could give her some feedback. She replied, “I’m very busy”. I gave her the feedback anyway. Telling her that I was very insulted and that she shouldn’t treat her customers that way. Especially, repeat customers. We actually stayed at the hotel two separate times this past week. She then sarcastically asked if she could do anything to make it better and that it was a joke. She walked away from me before the conversation was over. I’m not telling anyone to stay away from this hotel, they have some great employees, just not Kristina! We won’t ever go back to the bar again.

There’s a parking garage next door to the hotel so you don’t have to valet your car. The rooms are comfortable. N/A

They welcomed us at 7:00AM the day of with very little notice. The staff gave us great recommendations to see downtown Denver. Would definitely stay here again if back in Denver!

robertptubbs (10/5): Great Experience - We spent Thanksgiving week at this hotel. I have to say it was an absolutely fabulous experience. We were treated in a first class manner from the moment we arrived. The entire staff was fantastic. I won't be able to mention everyone but Mike and Marquise at the valet station were particularly helpful. The two bartenders we saw the most at the lobby bar, Trey and Maggie were particularly engaging. We stayed in a suite, the value was outstanding and the room was very comfortable. I could not recommend the hotel any higher.

Alyna Heard offered her skilled assistance regarding a problem I had with printing an important document. She was able to spend about 15 minutes diving into my issue and came up with just the right solution! Clearly this was beyond what was expected, she help with cheerfulness and technical acumen. Thanks to her, our stay was made even more remarkable!

samanthamJ8032FL (2/5): Run for your life dirty dank and dismal - i stayed here expecting a positive experience. it was like being in the bates motel. everything was dark and dank. dirty is being polite. elevators had fingerprints everywhere . bathrooms were dirty and there was mold in the showers. they did not clean everyday and the staff was rude beyond words.. ask for a clean towel you say and they ignore you and upcharge you for dirty towels. its a gimmick and a scam and after spending thousands i will be asking Mariott Corporate for a signficant refund to at least cover my doctors bills from the moldy bathrooms.

The bathroom had mold in the shower. we stayed four days and one of the days they never cleaned our room never said anything we called for towels but we did not get any,so We had to use the same old, dirty towels.we checked out the following day and when we got to the airport And reviewed our bill they had added a charge of $250 because the dirty towels were dirty? I have traveled all over the world and I have never been treated with so much disrespect by the staff. My advice is run from this place. They’re rude. It’s dark and it’s dirty.

Angus (7/5): Simple and nice hotel - Excellent location, clean and simple It’s not major but it would be nice if staff offered to help with bags. This seems to be a common problem across the US just now though. Overall it’s a good hotel though.

kruthir2025 (2/5): Overbooked Frequently - I arrived at the hotel around 11 PM and was informed that due to overbooking, I would need to be relocated to another property. Despite seeing several guests check in after me, I was told I had been "randomly selected" earlier in the day to be moved - yet I received no prior communication from the hotel (no email or phone call) notifying me of this change. I spent nearly an hour at the front desk close to midnight trying to understand next steps. I was handed a printed note with the address of the alternate hotel but was not proactively offered any assistance with transportation. Only after I asked was a security guard made available to escort me - an essential courtesy given the late hour and downtown location. Additionally, I was not offered any compensation or solutions related to the inconvenience until I explicitly inquired. The points I was eventually granted were minimal and does not reflect the level of disruption (e.g. at least 1-2 nights of stay). The following day, I was instructed to return to the Renaissance instead of staying at the alternate hotel for both nights. When I asked to avoid the back-and-forth, the staff said I would need to make arrangements directly with the alternate hotel, who then explained it would have been possible had the Renaissance coordinated or transferred the reservation. Overall, this experience was disappointing, especially given that I’ve since learned this hotel is known for frequent overbooking. I would strongly caution future travelers to be aware of this risk when booking.

holly (8/5): Don't order the crème brûlée - The restaurant food was mediocre. The wine prices were outrageous for the brands. And the crème brûlée was the worst i e ever experienced. The chef needs to be taught how to make it. I was told by the server that this is the way the chef likes to make it and then mentioned that many people don't like it. She waived the charge.
Joseph (10/5): - It is a normal business style hotel. Friendly staff. If you drive, expect to pay for parking, and the valet staff are possibly the friendliest I've ever seen. They will take care of you and your car.

Jay (8/5): A very good choice for a downtown stay, but expensive - The front desk staff was courteous and efficient, and the room and public areas were clean, comfortable, and functional. The building itself, a former bank structure, retains historical decor and is nicely highlighted by information signs around the lobby. Dinner at the in-house Range restaurant was very good, and the service was excellent, though the food and wine price was quite high (understandable for this downtown location). At the time of our stay, this downtown location was a bit seedy, with quite a few people wandering aimlessly on the sidewalks and streets, though none in a threatening way, and once we were in the hotel there were no issues. The cost for parking by the hotel's valet service was very high, but we were able to self-park for less than half at the 16th Street structure next door to the hotel.

Kinedi (10/5): Top downtown hotel - Stayed at this fantastic downtown hotel for 2 nights and to get there from Denver Airport was really easy by public transport. $10 for the airport train which takes you directly to Union Station and then just jump on the free 16th Mall shuttle bus which literally stops right outside the hotel ! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a lovely big bathroom and nice toiletries too. Free bottled water was a bonus too. Shops and restaurants all in walking distance and a really nice hotel bar too. I also liked the history of this former Bank of Colorado building, they kept some of the original features like the safe/vault and it adds to its ambience.

hap348 (10/5): Awesome stay in Denver - Such a beautiful hotel and the location is perfect. The room was bright and spacious and well-taken care of. I really enjoyed my stay here and appreciated that it used to be the Colorado National Bank. The hotel still keep lots of details about its history and it was fun walking around the lobby and the lower level to learn about its fascinating history.

Susanne (10/5): - This is a lovely hotel. The lobby and features of the old bank building and it's original artwork are very unique. This large space presents as warm and welcoming and the staff further adds to that feeling. The room was immaculate, beds were comfortable, no outside, downtown noise penetrated. Highly recommend

While the hotel is beautiful and unique due to its history (as the former Colorado National Bank), their people is what set this luxury hotel apart. For context we’ve travel all over the world and I am a Lifetime Titanium with Bonvoy. In other words, we’ve seen many hotels of all types. The Renaissance is our #1 due to their high high quality staff. From Andrew and Michael (get a tour from on of them!), to Chris and Alex - every single person we met felt like an old friend. If you travel, whether for business or pleasure, you know that the nicest hotel in the world fails without quality people to interact with. The Renaissance hits high marks in EVERY regard. Shannon (6/5): Valentines stay - Let me start by saying the staff here is top notch. Everyone from the front desk concierge to the bartender were so friendly and welcoming. The main complaints are small, but noteworthy- The tv remote in our room barely worked, which was fine, we made it work. At 10:45AM someone knocked on our door and let themselves in (assuming room service, though we had our do not disturb sign out). We let them know we were here and they left. The back of the door at the hotel says check out is at 12, however when you book they say 11.. either way, someone was letting themselves in before 11. We called the front desk and they told us check out is 11, and we explained it says 12 on the door so we will do our best to be out by 11. They were very kind about this, and extended our check out to 12, though it did leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Overall our experience and stay was wonderful, however for what you pay for a room and for a 4 star hotel, I think a few things could’ve been better. That said- the espresso martini by Josh (I believe, the gentleman working the night is 2/14), 10000/10!!
April (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful historic building in downtown Denver with easy access to 16th st. Mall. Room was spacious with a sitting area with its own TV and very comfortable bed. All staff were efficient, prompt and helpful. Fantastic Marriott lounge breakfast.
Nickveer (2/5): - They did not give the room I booked and only gave one bed when we requested two. They stated that they don’t honor bookings through Expedia and it is essentially first come first serve. We then asked for an extra roll-away bed but they said they had given them out already and there were no more left. Terrible experience.
