Guest Reviews
- Kintani (10/5): 露天風呂からのロケーションが最高。癒されます。 - ロケーション、太平洋を一望できる絶景が楽しめる。
料理が美味しい。 部屋がまだ昔ながらの鍵だった。
- keiko (7/5): -
- Wai han (7/5): -
- Jo (10/5): Meals, onsen and views exceeded my expectations - The room was clean, spacious and had a superb view of the ocean where I was able to watch the sunrise. The onsen facilities were wonderful, very relaxing. There is also an open-air onsen outside. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. I would like to come back here again. Decor is a bit dated and the building elevators are very slow.

La comida (desayuno y cena).
La amabilidad del personal.
El servicio de traslado a la estación.
- Domenico (10/5): Fantastic experience - Excellent food and fresh sashimi
Fantastic onsen, wonderful view of the sea from the onsen
Quiet and large room with balcony, we liked the mosquito net and the view
Fantastic national park with forest on the sea, just 5 min walk from the hotel
We liked the two waking shortcuts from the hotel: one to the sea, and the other one to the Ugui beach the shuttle pickup bus of the Hotel is from the side of the Railway station without Elevator, this was unconfortable with our heavy luggage. Instead the shuttle bus return was excellent because the shuttle left on the other side of the station, which has the elevator.
- Dustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Superb - The onsen and the view of this place are amazing. The food is excellent. Facilities are a bit outdated.
- Chek (10/5): Will come back again! - The buffet was awesome! So many options to choose from. Will certainly consider coming back again. The onsens were fantastic. There is an indoor one and two outdoor onsens (one with shelter and milky water; while the other open-air with great view of the bay)
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional - Location worked well for me to treat myself to a night of luxury after 8 days hiking from Tanabe. Facilitipes were good, staff and meals were excellent. Great sunrise views from my room
- Samart (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amir (8/5): Great place, we loved it. Great food - The onsen was incredibly beautiful and great temperature. They didn’t have baby bed
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hyuntae (9/5): Relaxing stay. - View from the room and onsen facility. The hotel is located on a hill overlooking the ocean but it is isolated and no shops or stores within walking distance.
- Adam (9/5): Incredible onsen, great meals, good cost performance - Amazing views from the onsen which was also well maintained, great dinner, maguro donburi for breakfast, and overall relatively cheap for what you get. Rooms and the hotel interior (other than the bathing area) are a little dated and could use a renovation, but the price does reflect the current state. Though most hotels in the region seem to be in the same condition anyway.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Traditional large hotel in a great location. Excellent food and hot baths. Bus pickups from station were great.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allen (10/5): Hospitality. Spectacular view. - Friendly customer service. Really nice location.
- Michel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, incredible onsen. - This property was stunning- the views from the room are all of the water, the onsen was also a real highlight. The interior design was also really gorgeous if you’re into 80s art deco opulence. Nothing. It’s a good idea to contact the hotel ahead of time to arrange shuttle pick up from the station if getting the train.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing onsen, wonderful food, overall really nice stay. Completely exceeded our expectations
- Janelle (8/5): Dinner/Breakfast are unique. - The property shows a nice view of the ocean.
The food dinner was so unique if you love japanese food. They also have options for western style food. The breakfast has some great options and
Always comes with the ice cream desserts! The property is a little old looking but its well
Kept. The onsen has good space especially the outside onsen was so beautiful.
They provide a different size of yukata for kids ans adult. Our japanese room style room has some flying bugs in our bathroom. The tatami futon bed was on a thinner side so it hurts our back when we woke up.
- Matt (9/5): Would recommend. - I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and professional, the rotenburo were great and dinner and breakfast were wonderful. It is also only a few minutes walk to the Ugui National Park visitor centre. The room towel was in a draw so I didn't realize that I needed to take it to the onsen/shower.
- Ana (7/5): Good - The best part of this hotel was the onsen which had an amazing view. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. The dinner and breakfast were a bit disappointing.
- Terri (8/5): Close to Kumano Koda - We liked the setting, the view from our room of the ocean and the closeness to the Natchi waterfall, and the Kumano Kodo trail! We would have liked raised beds - but none were available. The pillow was very uncomfortable. There was no shower in our room.
- Robin (9/5): Superb - The hotel staff really went extra miles to help us. Due to an accident, our train was delayed for one hour , we missed the prearranged pickup, nevertheless, when we called the hotel, they immediately sent the bus to pick us up from JR station.
The food is really wonderful, the waitresses were very attentive and thoughtful.
Onsen is really beautiful. From outdoor Onsen, you could see ocean and sakura, there is no better combination imo🤗 Nothing
- Lynn (10/5): Outstanding, highly recommended stay gere for an authentic japanese experience. - The location on a mountain side provided outstanding views of the ocean and sunrise. The multiple onsen baths were luxurious. The food was amazing. Infrequent shuttle with unclear instructions for where the pick up from station is situated.
- Nalaka (10/5): 最高でした。 - The impression and hospitality of the hotel staff was very good. The children were very happy at the starry sky experience event. The food and location were great Nothing special
- Lan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Supinda (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (8/5): Relaxation, a great view, and good food; in Japanese style - Very quiet atmosphere. Magnificent view over the Pacific from 5th floor rooms, and from the men's hot spring pool (especially at sunrise). Women's view more restricted. Evening meal Japanese style, varied, and large. The nature walk starting at the outdoor centre 400m away is a hidden pearl, not much advertised but leading to the most unspoiled beach (pebbles and gravel) we have ever seen in Japan - no concrete, not even any plastic rubbish washed up; someone must be cleaning it regularly. We had it all to ourselves on a warm November day. As most Japanese hotels, not very attractive from the outside; though not an eyesore like so many are. The bare concrete surface outside the panorama windows in the restaurant is ugly, and could easily be concealed; but similar failings are usual everywhere in Japan
- Jessie (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely hotel, allergy aware, great gluten free meals. - Great onsen, which included outdoor pools with sea view.
Great gluten free breakfast and dinner for the of us with a wheat/gluten allergy.
Lovely, friendly and attentive staff, some spoke good English.
Pretty location, Great hiking nearby on the peninsula. Nothing.
- Marc (8/5): Great location, beautiful Onsen, a bit too expensive - Fantastic onsen facing the sea A bit outdated
- Andreas (8/5): Very good - Onsen (open air bath)
- Ranny (8/5): Very good -
- Chuyang (9/5): Superb -
- Jesus (9/5): I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. The view of the ocean and sunrise is literally breath taking. The on - The facilities were a bit dated and humble but very clean and well kept. The all-Japanese staff was lovely, owning their “omotenashi” way of service at every step of my stay. The food service and local fare were great! My room did not have the best ventilation. A musty air thick with the scent of water damaged wood and old tatami met me at the door every time I entered the room. The only item on the food menu I would recommend changing or improving is the tempura. It just did not have that light, crunchy umami you come to expect from the Japanese.
