Guest Reviews
- ParrFerris (9/5): Revisiting (46 years on) - A very pleasant, comfy and clean room. There was no noise either from other rooms or from outside other than the pleasant sound of the brook that runs behind the building. Breakfasts were excellent, as good as any I've had anywhere.
The accommodation has a separate entrance so you don't have to go into the Nook itself, but it's worth visiting as it's a proper locals' pub that doesn't seem to have lost the character it had when my parents frequented it fifty years ago - and it now serves several rather good beers from its own brewery. Nothing of note.
- Lynn (9/5): -
- Maggie (10/5): Lovely room, great location - lovely modern room. Clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Easy check in. We didn't stay for breakfast all was good with the accommodation.
- Helen (9/5): Lovely quirky hotel in the heart of Holmfirth - This is a quirky hotel with brilliant friendly staff The room had a very low roof on one side - we kept bumping our heads
- Dmytro (10/5): Would recommend it - No first time stayed and Everything was perfect everytime That we stayed for only one night

It's the Nook pub which has a great range of beers It's right in the centre of Holmefirth and great for the Picturedrome The the bed is rather hard
- Gay-Michelle (8/5): - Parking isnt available its luck of draw in Holmfirth. Would have liked earlier check in. 3pm is late when you have bags and want to explore from the morning

- Peter (9/5): - The location is superb, the room big and a very good breakfast It needs a bedside light on both sides of the bed

- Simon (9/5): Third time staying at The Nook - Third time staying at The Nook. What better an endorsement than returning time after time. Back in April for stay number 4
- Gordon (7/5): It served a purpose - Location Full of insects, very basic accommodation
- Tina (8/5): -
- Lily (7/5): Short and sweet - The room was lovely and clean! The room only came with one pillow each to sleep with, we never asked but I assume you’d be able to get another!
The noise from the bar below was so loud and finished around 12:30am so struggled to get to sleep. Ear plugs or something should be provided if possible.
- Louise (10/5): Fab our 2nd stay -
- Julie (8/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Nice stay - Everything
- Louise (7/5): Great location but expensive considering the quality of the breakfast - Very friendly and welcoming staff Breakfast was disappointing. The cooked part was good but the cold options were disappointing and the coffee was terrible. Staff need to be trained on how to make a proper coffee as the poor lad who served us didn’t have a clue. Noisy room due to creaking floorboards upstairs.

- adlington (9/5): New Year in The Nook - We stayed for one night only on New Years Eve. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are only small but are comfortable with en suite bathroom with shower. It was relatively quiet, with any noise from other guests kept to a minimum. The Nook bar area is excellent and staff is very welcoming. We decided to have breakfast and was well worth it. All in all, a lovely place to stay for a few nights. The Nook describes the place perfectly. Only small and space is at a premium but they have made the place very homely and comfortable We didn't arrive for check in until around 1730hrs and was a little awkward having to go through details etc in the small bar adjoining as it was quite full and there was four of us with luggage., not an ideal reception area.
- Richard (8/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Great stay - Breakfast was fantastic, great location Nothing
- Jeanne (10/5): - Nice, comfy, warm room No one to wave you off
- Neil Sigsworth (9/5): A very enjoyable stay, ticked all the boxes. - Breakfast great, location superb.
- Linda (10/5): Friendly and welcoming with real historic character. - The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the pub downstairs was really welcoming and cosy. The full Engluish breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for visiting Holmfirth. We will definitely stay here again. The room did have a very low sloping ceiling, but that is in the nature of an old building like this.
- Phil (8/5): Lovely place in the centre of a very attractive town but a little expensive. - Location in Holmfirth excellent and the attached pub & bar were great. Clean room and nice crisp bed linen. Staff cheerful and helpful. It was a bit of a maze - might have struggled to find our way out if there was a fire. More and clearer signage on the doors may help.
We have been fortunate to be able to stay in rooms away a lot lately; compared with them I thought the price (over £130] was a bit steep.
- john (9/5): All in all, A trouble free stay. - Great location in the middle of town. Exits not sign posted, so wasn’t easy to find our way out of the building in the morning.
- Drake (8/5): -
- paul (8/5): Great place would stay again - Great staff. Great location Room had a smell of drains
- martin (8/5): -
- Lorna (5/5): Good Location - Location Price for our stay, room was £113, this was without the breakfast, an extra £28, then parking £14. The breakfast was a bit lack luster and tasteless too.. Unfortunately we won't be staying there again.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Was very happy. - Clean comfortable and in a great location.
- Mark (10/5): Gregory and Harris gathering - From the moment we arrived from the young man who seemed couldn't do enough to having our breakfast the following morning was flawless.
Definitely going again. Nothing
- Jill (7/5): Great for a one night stay, to see a band and use as stopover on way North, not good for longer. - The location in the centre of Holmfirth was perfect. The room had everything we needed and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I hadn't realised the room would be as small as it was with the double bed crammed under the eaves so that I (sleeping on the right) could only get out of bed by clambering down the bed. It was also right at the top of the building so lots of stairs. Not sure either of these were clearly spelt out when I booked. Also, being right above the pub which is busy and quite noisy up to midnight, (a Friday night) wouldn't suit anyone who likes to get to sleep before midnight. There are currently all night road works going on close by, although I found the noise of that strangely soothing!
- Helen (8/5): Great location, good value, gorgeous breakfast! - Lovely property, quirky, great central location! The double bed was under a beam and you could only get in from one side. But it was very comfortable once you were in bed!
- Mark (9/5): Nothing fancy but everything was good - Location
- Gareth Parry (8/5): Rooms at the nook - Location was really in the centre staff very friendly and helpful the bed was comfy The toilet smells of sewers the window leaked and you could hear upstairs at night not enough milksachets in room
- MRowena (10/5): Great little nook - Good breakfast, good shower, clean room, 2 great bars attached There was no parking close to the accommodation at the time of the day we arrived( Saturday afternoon).
- graeme (9/5): - The accommodation (room) was good - solid oak and real quality. bed linen was 100% - definitely would stay again. Direction to find the premises and how to check in. Google maps wrong and had to ask a number of people - I would not have had to find this place late at night! And they didn't tell us you need to ask for hair dryer.
- Elaine (10/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Brilliant day and night out. - Great area.
- George (8/5): A homely night in Holmfirth. - Excellent breakfast, remember there is a pub downstairs so you accept that there will be noise until 00:30 on a Friday/Sat night, Not an issue for me but you've been warned if you're on the first floor . My good lady didn't like the lack of a hairdryer.
- Simon (10/5): Another really good experience of staying at the nook. -
- Curran (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): - The room was perfect for us.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Needed extra pillows
- Byford (10/5): -
- Gillian (10/5): -
- Terry (10/5): -
- Warren (8/5): -
- Linda (8/5): Good Place to stay - The room was lovely, large and comfortable. We came for a concert so the location so close to the Picturedrome was perfect. The staff were friendly and the pub was great. Breakfast was ok but the sausages didn't look very appetising. Having said that we would certainly stay here again.
- Tracy Fox 🦊 (10/5): Lovely - Everything was just as needed
Clean
Modern but authentic
Hot shower Sloping roof a bit too low for husband lol 😆
- JULIE (10/5): - Comfortable clean room.staff friendly and accommodating. Attached to a lovely bar.
Would stay again.
- angela (10/5): - Great stay. Loved breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff
- Steve (9/5): Nice, would stay again. - Clean, great location and staff were superb. A lot of stairs to the top floor and headroom somewhat restricted in the rooms on the top floor. Breakfast a little expensive at £14 each.
- Copcutt (9/5): -
- lee (10/5): - Great location ,staff and food We have stayed numerous times before, always been great. This time we copt for an attic room wich was a bit cramped for my frame 😂.
- michael (9/5): -
- Karen (7/5): Lovely location, would return. - Location Breakfast was disappointing as not all items were ready and available. Jugs and trays were empty and no spoons on the table.
- paul (6/5): Not value for money - The Nook was in the middle of the town so convenient for all Holmfirth has to offer.
The room was small but clean and comfortable.
On the night we stayed there was a DJ playing very loud music in the yard until about midnight. When that stopped there was a still music playing from other venues round about.
I guess this the price you pay for staying in the town centre on a Saturday night.
My main criticism would be the price of the room (£119 without breakfast) in relation to the facilities. I had to ask for a hairdryer, TV was not visible from the bed due to a large beam, no chair, broken lamp & only 1 pillow each.
- christopher (9/5): - Very clean good location, The traffic noise all night
- Simon (9/5): the nook ticked all the boxes for a night stay - Clean & comfortable. the nook ticked all the boxes for a night stay. Its in an excellent location for our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful on our arrival and at breakfast. Looking forward to our next stay.
- Gabriella (9/5): -
- Simon (9/5): - Great location for going to the Picturedrome. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Good breakfast.
- Judith (8/5): Good Stay Very Comfortable - We had a very nice room Very Comfy It's in a great location really well positioned for the Hippodrome Our room was quiet even though the surrounding area is quite busy Staff very helpful Delicious breakfast too Nice place o stay The breakfast table was a bit dirty could have done with a clean
- Sharnie (7/5): -
- Mick (10/5): - Very clean and tidy location spot on Everything we needed had food in tapas bar excellent
- Gillian (8/5): - Location was brilliant, was nice and clean and very good breakfast Needed more pillows and the noise from the pub but wouldn't stop us from coming again
- Elaine (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Nice place in the middle of Holmfirth - Good full English breakfast. Friendly staff accommodated us at short notice. Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): Beautiful stay in a stunning town - Really beautiful area, we had one of the top rooms so the roof was pitched, very quirky.
The breakfast was amazing. Everything was amazing but the mattress was a little hard but thats down to personal preference.
- Wendy (10/5): - Everything was excellent thank you
- Susan (10/5): - Fantastic highly recommend Nothing
- Kim (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Super place, great location - We loved the proximity to the centre and the Picturedrome. Nothing.
- Jack (8/5): Central location in Holmfirth, very close to the bus station and other amenities - Liked having the small kitchen/diner where we could prepare an early breakfast. There was a Tesco Express close by that was open late.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great b&b
