- Crystal (10/5): - Everything was walkable distance. Despite it being crowded on the weekend due to some market....still could sleep well.....it was a good trip. Will definitely stay here again. Good for solo travellers as it was an option for a single bed.

Has refrigerator but also has slot that room key must be inserted in for electricity to work. When you take key and leave room refrigerator has no power. Why have refrigerator? Hotel was quiet but hallways smelled like cigarettes. I think there are better choices in KK at this price point.

- Verified traveler (10/5): 밤비행기로 도착하시는 분들에게 추천 - 위즈마 메르데카, 필리피노마켓, 선데이 마켓등 코타키나발루 여행시에 왠만해서는 들려야 할 곳들이 모두 도보로 10분내에 있어, 첫날 밤비행기라면 잠깐 쉬고 바로 여행을 시작해요. 특히 선데이마켓은 바로 옆 길에서 열리기 때문에, 일요일 새벽부터 바깥에서 노래부르고, 사람들 소리때문에 일찍 일어날 수 밖에 없어요. 청결함도 양호하고, 직원분들도 항상 웃으면서 친절하게 대해줘요

Room view was not very nice, though, but admittedly it is hard to find a good view with how buildings in KK are placed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 룸 청결도 기대이상!! 따뜻한물도 잘나와요 - 새벽 도착 또는 출발일 경우 묵기에 정말 좋은 호텔 같아요. 생각외로 룸 청결도 기대 이상이였구요 따뜻한 물잘 안나온다고해서 걱정많았는데 엄청 뜨겁게 오랜시간 잘 나왔습니다. 주말 밤에는 호텔 바로 앞 나이트마켓 열려서 볼거리도 많았으며 아침에도 플리마켓 열리더라구요. 바로옆에 편의점있어서 너무 좋구 제셀톤이나 그 옆 몰까지도 걸어서 갈만한 거리에 위치해 있습니다.

Next to Jalan Road Market which has popular restaurants. The staff are nice and able to speak English and Chinese. Always have staff open the door for us and press the elevator. Need to pay 50RM tourist tax on site and 100RM deposit (5 nights). Remember to take enough cash.

- K (10/5): Perfect KK base! - The Mandarin was the perfect location, the staff were all lovely - so friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager who gave me some great advice, I booked for 2 nights and stayed for 3! If you need a comfortable base in KK because you’re out exploring then this is perfect. Small, compact but perfect for me a solo traveler wanting to spend my days exploring. My bed was very comfortable and the shower was lovely!

Additional bonus, free transport from Hotel to Airport on checkout day. Lots of activities around the hotel area, walking distance to Gaya Street.

- Verified traveler (10/5): 다음에 KK오면 또 묵을 호텔! - 진짜 너무 만족한 호텔. 이제껏 다녀본 여러나라 호텔중에 가장 깨끗했다고 장담할수 있다. 심지어 직원들도 정말정말 친절하고 사무적인게 아니라 진심같아서 호텔에 묵는 동안 너무 마음이 좋았다. 딱 한가지 단점이라면 바로옆이 가야스트리트여서 (선데이마켓 열리는 곳) 일요일이 아니어도 평일에도 밤 1시정도까지 밖이 상당히 시끄럽다. (어디선가 매일 노래를 상당히 크게 부른다..) 처음엔 좀 짜증났지만 진짜 이것빼고 모두 다 너무 만족스러워서 개인적으로는 좋았다. 소음 예민한 분들은 고민해보시궁.. 아 참 그리고 가장 마음에 들었던 점은 바닥이 카펫이 아니라 마루바닥 이었다는 점이다. ㅠㅠ 본인은 천식이 있어서 어디 호텔을 예약해도 항상 바닥이 카펫이어서 고통스러웠는데 여기는 바닥이 마루라 더 깨끗했던 것 같다. (재채기랑 콧물이 안 나와서 정말 좋았음!) 하..진짜 뭔가 말할게 너무 많은데 암튼 난 다음에 코타키나발루 또 오면 100% 확실하게 여기에서 묵을 것이다! 만다린 짱!

The staff are proud of keeping the hotel rooms clean and I really appreciated that. Wonderful house keeping. The only things that will make this stay better is to have a more efficient hot water shower system. Water needs to run for a while to get heated. Also, rooms can get noisy due to neighbours slamming the doors or talking along corridors.

Located in a central downtown area, so a quick walk to any number/choice of breakfast and dinner eateries. It's a small budget priced hotel, so amenities are accordingly, such as no breakfast room, but everything needed is there, and in excellent condition and cleanliness. Very comfortable and spacious room with fridge and safe, and comfortable bed. If in Kota Kinabalu, we would most definately stay again, as Mandarin suited our needs perfectly.

The common areas could use some refurbishing. Close to Jesselton Point and is in the Chinatown area. Chinese and Malaysian restaurants around the corner. Coin operated laundry a ten minute walk and is close to night market stalls.

- H (10/5): Brilliant hotel - great value - Location - About 10 mins walk from jesselton point and right next to the night markets. The Sunday market is also right on the door step and well worth going to. Room was very clean and cleaned every day. Air con was a little loud but did its job well. Good bathroom with rain shower. Very clean and towels and toiletries replaced daily with the cleaning. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Willing to offer advice. Free airport shuttle is a nice bonus. Its not 5 star and no frills and there is no breakfast but would definitely stay at this hotel again. Excellent value for money.

- Farah (8/5): Uber friendly Staff - Its a great location a walking distance to a shopping mall and the Port where you can go for snorkling and all. The staff is wonderful where they greet you every single time you step through the door. It makes me feel welcomed all the time. Wifi is slow but then again that shouldnt matter because you should be exploring the town instead. Also, its right beside the gaya night market which is fantastic.

- Crystal (8/5): Good service and convenient - A very good service and friendly staffs, they were greeting me whenever I went through the main entrance. The room was clean and comfortable, room keeping twice a day. But the sink water was going slow to me. I booked in the afternoon same day as I checked in. Upon my arrival, they took some times to check on my booking. I booked for staying two nights. I had an uncomfortable sleeping night for my first night, so I requested to change to other room the next day. They were quick respond and good service due to my request. Also, they allowed me to view the room that I was going to change to before I was ok to move. I had a great sleeping night for my second night. The staffs were concerned on the comfortableness and any issues or request when you stayed in the room (they called to ensure everything was ok) and checked out. I was really appreciated and thank you to the staffs, especially thanks to Michelle (one of the front staffs, if not mistaken the name). She is helpful, to help to call a grab car for my next destination. The hotel is just in front of the gaya street Sunday market. And there are walking distance to Suria Sabah shopping mall and other restaurants or food stalls. It is convenience. I'll definitely recommend to others and friends.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Stayed in Superior room 9105 at first floor. Photos on website is misleading as the room is not as big as shown. Hope to see more secured windows or grills installed for rooms on first floor as they are quite accessible from latch outside. That's why I put down "High Floor Room" as Special Request during booking, unfortunately, I didn't get one. Location is great but be prepared for the traffic noise as Gaya Street is a busy street. Check-in/out is easy and efficient. It is just strange that hotel didn't replace face towels. Overall, great place to stay if you are looking for central location, basic accommodation, value for money.

- Richard (8/5): Good choice for a city centre stop-over - Stayed just one night, with a very early check-out so couldn't take advantage of the free transfer to the airport (they only offer the service from 7am). Friendly staff and comfortable room. The central location is great for shops and restaurants, but also lots of late-night noise (still shouts and screams in the street at 4.30am but it was close to Lunar New Year!)

- Ben (10/5): Clean and Comfortable - Perfectly located at the head of Gaya Street. The staff are wonderful and courteous. Winnie was particularly kind to me, and I had a very enjoyable experience. The beds were the most comfortable I've slept on for a long time. I wish the view from the windows was a bit nicer, but that's the only bad thing I've got to say.

Kinabalu, restaurants and modern huge shopping mall (if needed) Really recommend! The only minus that it is close to the bar with live music.. But maybe only during the weekend?!
