281vannesaa (2/5): Bad Experience - I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but my experience at Dreams Cancun was extremely disappointing. I previously stayed at Dreams in Mazatlán and had an amazing experience, which is exactly why I chose Dreams again for this trip. Unfortunately, this location completely ruined it for me. The customer service was terrible from the beginning. Employees were rude, communication was poor, and nobody seemed to care about fixing issues. I paid extra for a balloon surprise setup in my room for my partner and even tipped very well for the service. When we went upstairs, the balloons were already popped and maintenance staff were cleaning everything up right in front of us. The surprise was completely ruined. What made it worse was the front desk showed no urgency, no apology, and offered absolutely nothing for the inconvenience. The food was also disappointing. At one point I ordered a salad and they literally brought out an entire head of romaine lettuce uncut. That pretty much summed up the effort and quality we experienced throughout the stay. This trip honestly ruined my Cancun experience for me. I expected so much more from a Dreams resort, especially after loving the Mazatlán location. Sadly, I would not return to this property or recommend it to others.

Staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. Even the guests were friendly. Special call-outs: Entertainment Team: Jayden and Alexander have been great! They always said hi to our group and made group activities fun. Dining: Jorge and Roberto were always available to answer questions throughout our stay and also helped to arrange special birthday dinner for my uncle. Restaurants were excellent. Even the buffet has been enjoyable each day with lots of options. Spa: Sandra, Antonio, Jessica, Estrella, Clarisa led us to a very enjoyable spa experience including sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and massage. The Mother's Day Package was well-worth it! Restaurants were excellent. We loved the variety at the buffet.

Our whole family of five got sick three days into the trip. The water in our rooms smelled like sewer. The shower water kept going back and forth between very hot and cold. Food was awful everywhere except for the Asian restaurant where it was decent and service was great. Food everywhere else was disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone.

73tianam (10/5): Great time - I came to the resort in May. The staff was amazing. The activity staff was amazing. It's like we had our own built in best friends when we were on our trip. The Jayden and Alex combo was hysterical. They kept us laughing all day. The first day we got there Eric made us feel welcomed. They got us involved in all the activities. Played volleyball with us. Got us to do any outdoor activities. The had us dying with the music trivia (guess the song). They had a ton of people yelling out!! Michelle was so sweet, so fun, she said hi to us everyday by name. She really made us feel welcomed. Alejandro while by the ocean was so sweet, super helpful. He always had a smile on his face.
182nolana (8/5): Spectacular Staff and a Great Value - The service from the staff made our trip truly wonderful. The workers were all super friendly and were always available to help. They have lots of servers walking around taking drink and food orders so you never even have to leave your beach chair if you don't want to! The hotel is in great shape and has a very clean, modern look to it. The facilities are well taken care of and very clean. There are maintenance people working regularly with paint touchups and whatnot, but nothing that isn't expected. The fitness center is a little small but has plenty of machines and weights to get in a good workout while on vacation and is very clean. The trainer was very helpful whenever needed and there are lots of towels and water available. The beach was nothing special. The water is clear but shallow, and there is a lot of sargassum and rocks around it. It was wonderful to sit back and read, but not necessarily to go swimming in. The available pools were more than enough to get some swimming in and cool off. We didn't elect for the preferred package but the additional pool looked very fun as well. Another added benefit is the place doesn't feel jam packed with people and we had absolutely no issues finding places to sit. If you're fair skinned (like myself) and require shade, you would have to find a spot by 11 AM to noon, but if you're fine with getting your tan on then you could go to find a spot at anytime with no problem. I was traveling with just my partner, so the experience may be different if you have a big group. The food was nothing spectacular, but it was still pretty good. The Olio by the beach is a must have everyday for lunch. What really stood out about the dining was the presentation. All of the food was plated quite well and the restaurants are all very clean with extremely attentive staff. The housekeeping staff were FANTASTIC. Everyday we would wake up and go to breakfast before returning to our room to get changed for the beach. Almost everyday we would return to our bed re-made, room cleaned, and towels replaced. It felt like the housekeeping staff came about twice a day, they were really on top of it. The entertainment was certainly lacking and there's not a whole lot to do outside of the resort without paying for transportation to get some ways out, but that was ok for us since we were just looking to relax on the beach and read. It may not be as nice as some higher end resorts, but really spectacular for the price in my opinion. I would most definitely recommend this as a resort to visit to anyone interested in a nice relaxing trip.
O6561JPjohns (4/5): Not worth it! Go somewhere else - The rooms are Horrible unless you upgrade to a suite. Food is not so good. Pay a few thousand more and stay somewhere else. Entertain is great. The service is good and drinks are great. Preferred pool is small and much cooler than main pool. The resort is much older than others. Room service food was great compared to the restaurants. If you think you are getting chips, salsa, and guacamole, you are not. At Himitsu restaurant the Staff actually hid because we came in within 30 minutes of closing. Once seated, service was extremely rushed and was told to place an order of everything we wanted because we would not be able to place another order even for dessert. Service at Portofino restaurant was Terrible! Could not even get the waiter to come to the table in a timely manner. Fish tacos at Olio are great. Coffee at Coco Cafe is spot on and service was Great. Preferred is not worth $80 per night. Use that money to upgrade to a suite because you will hate your room even the preferred rooms. I cannot imagine but a non-preferred room looks like. If you do not require much for the $$, stay here. Otherwise, go somewhere else and get wowed!
stephs721 (10/5): Cancun 2026 - Amazing - Absolutely Loved our trip to Dreams Sands Cancun! It was the first time my husband and I visited this resort and won’t be the last! Everyone is so incredibly nice - we especially loved our favorite server, Sergio as well as Alexander and Jayden from the Entertainment Team!! Michelle is also a bundle of energy! I wish I could list them all! The beach is stunning. The entire resort is clean and very well kept- this building may be dated, but is held to the Hyatt standard. We did attend the Hyatt Vacation Package and bought it! If you travel and like the Hyatt brand, I recommend attending, they work with you to get what fits your lifestyle. Loved Omar and his team of professionals!! ❤️

patrikszolar08 (10/5): Porfofino restaurant - This holiday is lovely I have traveled with my mum and we are still having a wonderful time here at Dream Sands hotel, the hotel has nice choice of restaurants and places to eat and get your coffee. Portofino and thr waiting staff was excellent- to mention Pedro our favourite waiter and the nice lady that is behind the tiramisu dessert- Leydi Laura Martinez Sanchez from pasteleria. The Japanese restaurant is also nice and we are still going to try the fiesta Mexicans this week. Gaucho grill was also nice, but plates are too small. I recommend this hotel to anyone as it has a positive atmosphere and friendly people working here.

The rooms are very well maintained and the staff makes sure everything is comfortable. The view at this location is unimaginable. Neighbors are pretty respectful and nights are beautiful with only the sounds of the ocean at night. They also have lots of activities throughout the day. And the food is amazing! I would definitely come here again! Everything is so beautiful and affordable. It's such a paradise
torip482 (2/5): Terrible Management - This review is primarily for the management of the resort. We took our 5 month old son on his first trip here. We were very rudely awakened at 10 pm by the general manager of the hotel 1st by calling our room on the very loud phone. When we didn’t answer they came knocking on our door and ringing the doorbell at 10 pm for a matter that could have been worked out the next morning at check out. Our reservation clearly states we checked in with a baby & even so when we complained to the concierge he said it is their policy not to disturb guests after 9 pm. Even after admitting they violated their own policy and woke up our baby they did absolutely nothing for us except offer some cheap “gifts” we didn’t want. The manager didn’t even come out to apologize for their wrong doing. Also would like to mention they “upgraded” our room to be right next to where they are doing construction to a nearby room. Loud banging was heard even at 9 pm. Unbelievable again knowing that we were checking in with a baby. We are not ones to complain or write reviews but do not stay here. There are plenty of other nice resorts in the area.

Alex at the grill house, Isaac with Yesenia at the pool were awesome with the drinks. Booked Chichen and jet skies with Jose from Amstar. He explained everything clearly, and it was exactly as he said. He helped us with information about the hotel and tours, and even assisted us with towels and beach chairs. He was the best. There were a lot of children at the resort and no adults only pool. That's an issue and I hope they change that policy. Avoid the sales pitch! Promises of 90 minutes went to 5 hours and wasted nearly or entire day.
Angela (1/5): Don’t go there - Nothing -just the location We booked this hotel for our stay at 4 am ( last minute ). We got there in the morning and to be honest I couldn’t even believe that this is one of the Hyatt hotels . Room was smelling so bad like a mold , the entire hotel is dirty starting from the windows , elevators , floors . Manager who was assisting us was extremely rude to us , careless and arrogant ( I managed high end places ur leader should never be like this guy ). We decided to move Hyatt Vivid instead , we simply couldn’t stay a one minute after seeing the dirt and smell in the room . They charged us almost 500 dollars even we booked it a few hours earlier and didn’t even use it . Terrible experience, terrible management I will write to their corporate . I never felt disrespected like I did at this place . I stay often at Hyatt this is embarrassing

Leonardo (8/5): - Localização muito boa, praia na frente do resort é excelente. Café da manhã é satisfatório. Vista do quarto. Tranquilidade do resort. Uma coisa que incomodou muito na chegada foi o assédio para upgrades, tanto do quarto, quanto para uma "área VIP" do resort. Essa segunda em específico, o funcionário nos segurou por mais de 30min quando estávamos claramente cansados e só queríamos ir para o nosso quarto depois de um longo voo. De uma forma geral, as comidas são mais artificiais do que estamos acostumados no Brasil. O bar da piscina fecha muito cedo e tudo lá tem horários regrados, o que torna essa parte um pouco inflexível. Já famos em outros resorts e nos sentimos mais a vontade de pegar bebidas e comidas(petiscos) a qualquer hora e em praticamente qualquer lugar do resort.

Katie (7/5): Nice for the price - We loved the location. The shallow water was exactly what we were after. It was disappointing to not have a lot of beach, but at the same time it made the water so much easier to access. There were ample pools and space for swimming and that part never felt crowded. Easy access to room service which was always on time. Most staff were very friendly, but a few definitely were not having their best days. View was spectacular and easy walking distance to night clubs. Loved the smaller size as it easy to get to our room most do the time but the elevator wait was awful. Lobby and all restaurants were extremely clean and smelled excellent. Staff was well dressed and groomed. Food was meh. 1 restaurant was actually awful, 2 were pretty good. Buffet was average. Getting a table was a challenge for a group and that was annoying. The only food available for quick grab was soft pretzels. Everything else you had to order and wait, and that wait could be long. Rooms were fine, but ours flooded with every shower, had some mold and was not at all quiet. We could hear every word of the connecting room’s conversation which was awful when their 2 year old was up at 6am daily. Drinks were ok. Only one I found that was excellent was a plain lemon drop. Everything with mixer tasted like artificial sugar, but I think that’s all places in Mexico.

The dinner was mediocre. I didn’t like that we had to wait 30 minutes to get a table. I expected the room to be nicer. I was particularly upset when we got charged an additional $70.00 for our 7 year old because I didn’t indicate it in the booking even though it said kids stay for free. We were there from 4:00 pm to 9:00 am the next day and my granddaughter ate almost nothing. The $70 extra charge was not only upsetting but also felt unwelcoming. The price we paid did not meet our expectations.

There was always something fun to do from salsa class to pottery painting to wine tasting. I loved that I got to know the workers and the guests during my stay and the ability to leave the property for a walk to nearby clubs, restaurants, and souvenir shops was an added perk. Omar, Alex, Charly, and Angie from the activities team really made our stay and we couldn’t have asked for friendlier leaders in our activities. Overall a wonderful experience!

bradforda2026 (10/5): Very pleasurable vacation experience at Dreams Sands in Cancun - During the period from February 25, 2026, to March 4, 2026, my wife and I had the opportunity to stay at your hotel. Having not vacationed in approximately fifteen years, we were uncertain about what to expect. Nevertheless, our high ratings reflect that we were thoroughly satisfied with all aspects of our stay. Condition of Hotel: • The entrance area was exceptionally clean, both indoors and outdoors. • We were highly satisfied with the condition of our room. • We appreciated receiving a complimentary room upgrade without having made a request. • A special gesture was extended when my wife received a piece of cake along with a birthday greeting and a banner attached to our room entrance acknowledging her birthday. • We did note minor concerns regarding surface stains on some pieces of furniture. Hotel Entertainment: • We were very satisfied with the entertainment offerings. • There was a wide variety of evening entertainment, which we enjoyed greatly. • Daily activities were continuously available; even when we chose not to participate, we found them enjoyable to observe. • We especially appreciated the entertainment team members who greeted us each morning at the breakfast buffet restaurant, engaged us in conversation, and sought our feedback regarding our stay. Condition of Hotel: • Entrance area was immaculate both inside and outside • Very satisfied with the condition of our room • A room upgrade was provided without a request from us • An added touch was provided when my wife was provided with a piece of cake with a happy birthday wish as well the banner attached to room entrance door acknowledging her birthday • Minor concerns were raised when we observed surface stains on a few pieces of furniture Hotel Entertainment: • Very satisfied • Large variety of evening entertainment that we enjoyed immensely • Continuous daily activities were available and in cases were we did not desire to participate in them, they were still enjoyable to observe • We greatly appreciated the added touch of the entertainment team members greeting us at the entrance of the breakfast buffet restaurant in the mornings while they engaged in conversation and seeking our input related to our stay • The Entertainment Team was genuinely cohesive, and their camaraderie was clear during our time with them. • My wife and I both appreciated and enjoyed our daily interactions with everyone on the team. • Supervisors Jaime and Mariam led an outstanding group throughout our stay, and members such as Michelle, Alexander, Omar, and Maurice—just to name a few—made our vacation truly satisfying. Pool and Beach Experience: • During our time at the resort, we primarily enjoyed relaxing by the pool and strolling along the beautiful beach property. • The bartenders and beverage servers were consistently attentive, helpful, and clearly committed to ensuring our visit was memorable. In particular, the poolside and beach server, Salvador (if memory serves), provided exceptional service throughout our stay.
Craigsbooth (6/5): Great holiday but not 5 star. Remove the lobby and 3-4 star at best. - I’ll start by saying we had a great holiday and the white sands and clear waters were amazing. There was plenty of entertainment at the hotel if you wanted to join in, but never hassled and created a good atmosphere. This Hotel is definitely not 5 star. I took my wife for her 50th and felt like I had cheaped out. The official website also says it’s 5 star. There’s plenty of hotels to choose from and what swayed me to this, is we stayed at dreams royal beach in Punta Cana the year before (which truly was a 5 star hotel) so I was expecting this to be a similar standard. At first I thought it was. The lobby is 5 star and when you first walk in you can see straight through to the crystal clear sea. On the way to the room it just didn’t feel like it was going to be 5 star. When we got to the room to say I was devastated is an understatement. The rooms are clean but they are 3-4 star at a push. zero comfort or luxury. They have a king sized bed with 2 half pillows nothing like their website. Windows were dirty and curtain hanging off. Bathroom mirror was hazy and old looking. I wanted to leave. The rooms are not inviting or a place you want to be. I drawers for underwear and things. There’s a built in cupboard and your clothes would smell like an old cupboard when you got them out. The dreams I had previously stayed in was very comfy and luxurious. I Didn’t fly 11 hours for that. Maids would take your towels and not leave new ones, coffee and water rarely replaced. When you look at the hotel from the back it looks like they’ve bought an old hotel, spent a lot of money on a nice lobby and done all of the rooms on a budget. A lot of the official Photos you see, it’s nothing like that. On a night when you are dressed, you are served your drink in a plastic cup (a lot of them really scratched) even in the lobby. I understand it around the pool but that made it feel cheap. The staff work their socks off and the food was great for the first week and was 5 star, however in the second week the standards slipped. The Asian restaurant was great at first but last night we were there, the portions had halved. I mean 3 little scraps of chicken on your plate. The hotel shop was a joke. You expect to pay more but not 5 times more. We had a great holiday because we made it a great holiday. If it wasn’t for the white sands and clear sea I would have definitely changed hotel. I felt very short changed. I had seen a few reviews saying it’s not 5 star. I thought they must have expected too Much as other dreams are amazing. Sadly I should have listened. Great holiday but I certainly wouldn’t return or recommend as a 5 star. If you don’t have to fly for 11 hours, get a good price and accept it’s 4 star at best then I would recommend.

staciem367 (10/5): Was able to fully relax and loved the vibe of this resort. - We are used to much larger resorts and we weren't sure if there was going to be enough variety of restaurants and activities at this resort. We were pleasantly surprised! The resort is right on the beach so it is easy to get around and not waste any time getting to where you need to be. It is clean and always being cleaned. There was always something going on, the vibe was great. The service is the best that I have had at an all-inclusive resort. They knew what we needed before we did :) I would 100% recommend this resort to either adults or families. I don't know that there was a lot to entertain teens.

alliemB9827HL (10/5): Great trip! - We had a great time at dreams sands! The resort is beautiful! The reason we would come back to this all inclusive resort is based on the food and the beach. We have been to other all inclusives where the food is really really bad. When we had our first tacos served at the outside grill and they were good we couldn’t believe it! They had “pop up” lunches each day with different themes outside by the beach. The staff and entertainment staff were all so nice and seemed happy each day! My husband and kids played beach volleyball everyday, sometimes 2 times a day ( Michelle made it really fun to get out and play volleyball) If you have room in your luggage and love to float around bring an inner tube- the crystal clear water was amazing to just float all day. Take the free catamaran ride too- the water out there is unreal. We can’t wait to come back to dreams sands, our kids 8/10yr boys are already begging for another trip!

Aleksandra (7/5): Overall nice stay with few minor bumps - It has a great location on a pretty beach and is well maintained when it comes to cleaning services - rooms and all areas. Staff are very nice and professional. Any service requests were usually responded to quickly and in a pleasant manner. Tasty food and good choice in the buffet. Evening entertainment was good although very loud - note that this is not a place for someone sensitive to loud music. Dated rooms - very clean but definitely require refreshment and fixing. Very loud entertainment in sports bar and in the reception areas making it overlapping and very chaotic and impossible to enjoy a drink and a chat there in the evening. Restaurants were the biggest disappointment - they are hard to book for early slots and the food there was not great - especially avoid “italian” one which was not italian at all. having been given a table at 10pm we were unpleasantly rushed by the server through our meal - luckily this was our only almost rude interaction with staff. We booked few months innadvance with our family and asked for rooms close to each other - we were put on different floors and sides of the hotel

Gergely (6/5): Gut jedoch nicht wieder - Pros: Das Hotel hat viele Restaurants, die gutes Essen anbieten. Das Asiatische Restaurant hat hervorragende Sushi. Das Preferred Check-In sowie Area ist sehr schön. Der Ausblick vom Balkon ist wunderschön. Der Staff ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Genügend Bars und Getränkeauswahl. Die Doormen waren stets hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Housekeeping war stets gut, bei Nachfrage kam eine Zusatz-Flasche Body Wash innert 10 Minuten. Contras: Nur 2 Lifts sind definitiv zu wenig für so viele Gäste! Die Unterkunft wirkt auf den ersten Blick Modern, jedoch braucht es an einigen Stellen eine Sanierung. VIEL zu wenig Stauraum für Kleider, praktisch nicht genug für ein Paar, welches eine Woche bleibt. EXTREM hellhörige Zimmer! Man hört Alles, was im Gang oder in den Zimmern nebenan passiert also besser Ohrstöpsel mitnehmen. Die Dusche hat praktisch kein Wasserdruck. Das Bad ist klein, die Dusche ist klein. Das Preferred Club lohnt sicht für viele Aspekte nicht. Das A-la-Carte Frühstück ist nicht zu empfehlen, wir mussten 30+ Minuten (!) auf Spiegeleier und eine Omelette warten. Die Cappucinos sind FEUER heiss! Am Pool / Strand kann man nicht rauchen. Im Gauche Grill habe ich ein Steak medium-rare bestellt, es kam komplett well-done bei mir an. Dies geht gsr nicht als Steak-Liebhaber. Der Strand ist winzig, sehr schmal im Vergleich mit dem Hotel links nebenan. Man kann vergessen ein Strandtuch auf den Sandstrand legen und darauf liegen. Das Meer geht im ganzen „schwimmbaren“ Bereich nur bis zu den Knien / Hüfte, also wenn ihr einen richtig schwimmbaren Meerrsabschnitt wollt, ist dieses Hotel nicht das richtige. Viel zu wenig „gute“ Sonnenliegen. Wir hatten Preferred Club Zugang, jedoch waren immer alle guten Plätze weg. In der Mitte sind meherere Reihen Plastik Liegestühle ohne irgend einen Abstand, nichtmal die Füsse passen rein man muss über die Liegen klättern fast, fühlt sich viel zu eng und unangenehm an.

Steve (8/5): Even without the room credits, we would have booked this hotel. Our treatment regarding the room credit left us with a - Close to beach; good food. No problem getting chairs near pool, on beach, in the shade. We booked with a guarantee of $200 USD per room, resort credit. This was false advertising and disingenuous. On arrival, we were offered various coupons to get small discounts on some resort activities such as spa and special wines. The coupons did not cover any water sports (which we would actually have used). Overall I was extremely disappointed at this false advertisement- it was misleading and unfair.

We came from all over the world and couldn't be more pleased with the people that hosted us. Charlie and Jamie from the entertainment team created memories that will last a lifetime for us. Charlie has never had saltier guacamole 😂 The food and hibachi show at the Japanese restaurant was the absolute best time; the food overall at all restaurants was delicious with lots of variety. Santiago at the buffet was so friendly and makes the most delicious cranberry mimosas:). Thank you to the whole team that made this family reunion holiday one for the books. Thank you all. We can't wait to return to you! ❤️ The area felt safe for our family to walk and explore. Thank you again everyone. We'll see you again soon.

crystalkJ3312UE (10/5): I see why people return many times! - Just got back from 10 days at Dreams Sands and can’t rave more about the people, the service, the food!! Noe at breakfast was my ultimate favourite. Carlos at the hibachi table for dinner put on an amazing show. All the restaurants had top notch food that it was hard to not stay another 10 days to experience them all again. Rooms were cleaned impeccably and restocked daily. The beach!! Pools were warm. And we experienced a few outdoor dinners with shows at night. The nightly shows were so fun! Can’t wait to come back.

596briank (8/5): Great experience with friendly staff - This is a great resort, with friendly staff, diverse menus and many applicable areas inside and out for congregating. We loved and would recommend the preferred lounge. We used it as a meeting place for our group of 8. Wish the lounge could have had an outside sitting area on that level to overlook the grounds. The only downfall to this resort is the sun is on the non-beach side so this time of year, you have to wait until late morning to get the sun. Our stay was filled with wind, but the staff did a great job trying to keep the beach with the seaweed that washed in with the heavy winds. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a good value for the price.
Steven (6/5): Disappointed - The beautiful beach. Hard sell upon arrival to visit other Hyatt properties. When we arrived we were steered to a private setting where a rep tried repeatadly to get us to commit to visiting a new Hyatt property the very next morning. When we said we first wanted to settle in this property, she then tried to get us to commit to the next day. On our first a.m. another rep approached us again with the same pitch.

El servicio todo incluido cumple las expectativas. Buena piscina, jacuzzi y hermosa vista al mar. La bajada a la playa que tiene el hotel esta llena de piedras y no es muy comoda para meterse al mar. Alejandose un poco (unos 100 metros aprox) queda un espacio de playa muy bueno, con acceso al mar excelente (justo frente a Las Olas)
CassandraD239 (6/5): Excellent Service & Cleanliness , Bad Food & Dated Rooms - Stayed here with friends for 4 days, 5 nights. We were in the preferred section. Check in was a bit of a sales pitch, and I’m pretty independent so I also didn’t need maps explained etc. they asked a lot of questions and it took too long. The people were very nice and helpful though, especially taking bags at check in then to the room, all very easy upon arrival. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, but showing lots of wear. Not very aesthetically pleasing. My shower also never got hot during my stay, put in request to have fixed and it was addressed but not fixed. Food at the resort was not good at all. The Mexican restaurant was probably the better of all of them, but even then it was bland and overall just bad food. I am not hard to please and I barely ate anything. Omelette at the breakfast buffet was the best thing I had, but it was just like something you’d get in a collage cafeteria. Drinks were overall good, I bought a bottle of wine and had to fill out 3 pages of paper work signing to say I accepted charges. Service was awesome, the beach staff were fantastic. Never worried about getting a spot to lay out because it was managed well. Each person getting drinks and food were great. The staff made it a good, fun and relaxing time. I think many others had mentioned this but the preferred pool was cold! If it was heated it would be good, not a lot of sun hits it and it had to be like 60 degrees. Nobody went in it at all. Hot tub was very small. Lots of kids in the main pool so not ideal for adults. I thought the beach was fine! Kept pretty clean from seaweed and nice and shallow. Overall, I won’t ever return, only went because friends chose this spot for budget. I would say if food is not a priority (and you’ll eat anything) and you need something budget friendly, it’s a fine option.

617hopew (4/5): Do not stay here - Online it looks like an amazing resort but once you leave the lobby, it is so old and theres paint missing everywhere. The night entertainment was okay nothing amazing. Food was horrible, we had to leave the resort to eat. The location was okay. The pools are heated barely and the beach area is very small with so many rocks. We will not be coming back.

The staff were super friendly and inviting, especially Charlie, Michelle, and Melissa, and the property was beautiful. We really enjoyed the food variety and quality, as well as the drinks. Also, there were plenty of activities and entertainment without the resort ever feeling crowded. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun, and we would happily return.

Rooms are very clean and the lobby is also beautiful. Spa services were very nice as well. Drinks flowed and staff were always available. Only drawback: I just wish they had more beach space for the "non Premier". I did not feel I should pay extra just to be insured a spot on the beach.

godin22772 (6/5): Cancun Sands resort is okay - I have been to Cancun / Mayan Riviera about 21 times now. I would rate this as about the 16-17th on the list. The beach area is very small, sun only hits a small area throughout the day due to the direction of the hotel room tower. We upgraded to the Members Club king bed room with a deck. The room was outdated but acceptable. The check in / check out with Members Club was nice and they club on the 1st floor had good small bite snacks and upgraded liquor. The members club at the beach was not very service friendly with my wife and I, not sure why but service appeared to selective. The Japanese restaurant was very good, steak restaurant was hit and miss (the steak fillet was good but the new york strip steak was really tough). The buffet was decent. The pools were were generally cold, especially the members club pool. One and done visit for us. Not bitter, just feel there are many other resorts I would prefer to stay at and try (I have never stayed at the same resort twice here to be fair).

nicolecN2712EQ (10/5): Incredible events and entertainment team! - My boyfriend and I went to the dreams sands Cancun in December with another couple and had a wonderful experience. The food was awesome, definitely check out the Asian restaurant for hibachi and the sit in dinner! We also remarked that the buffet was better than some other all inclusive restaurants. The coffee bar near the lobby was also such an added perk and the best meeting spot to start our days. The thing over all that made it for us though, was the entertainment team. We have stayed at quite a few different resorts and have never seen such a fun, friendly and amazing team. Specifically Bryan was absolutely amazing and truly was our friend by the end of the trip! Bryan made sure we knew about all the events and really made the entire trip experience perfect. From the kayak ride with a lot of fun facts to the ping pong tournament and our Spanish lesson he did it all!!! He definitely made our entire trip! Some other special shout outs from the entertainment team were Charlie and Diana, they were always making the activities even more fun! All in all the included events at this resort you need to be sure to check out. We did all of them and couldn't get over the unique and special experiences you could do here. Overall we miss the resort and our amigos and cant wait to go back :)

carolhY2561OG (8/5): Wonderful staff, easy to navigate, good location , good views - Room was lovely. Good view. No bottle opener, had to be asked for. Refrigerator was well stocked. Indoor coffee bar offered many delicious drinks donuts, bagels, pastries and sandwiches. Loud outside entertainment in the evenings. Wish I’d had noise cancelling headphones. Even dancing outdoors for a wedding… Bathroom smelled like sewer gas for two days, but it was very clean and good maid service. Good amenities in the bathroom. Sometimes the elevator didn’t work and had to take the stairs or an alternative elevator father away. Staff was nice everywhere. Some staff were exceptionally nice, kind, helpful, smiling. No pressure on time shares or activities, but there if you wanted it. Beach lovely and easy to walk. Sand nice and clean and white. Water was so lovely. Not deep, waist height. Areas around the pools to sit and relax, and bar easy to access outdoors. Very good location for beachside Cancun. Not too big a hotel. A good size. Easy to navigate. Staff worked exceptionally hard. I was impressed. A bit of Spanish greetings appreciated. Many places to sit and take a moment or read or just take a breath. Never saw anyone with too much to drink. Security good, but not in your face.
mariarE1707WR (8/5): Beautiful Beach but not a lot of sun until afternoon. - We had a wonderful time at dreams Sands. I would like to give an honest review because I know I rely on these reviews when choosing a resort. Check-in was great. It was very fast. Everyone was very friendly. The staff was great. We especially enjoyed Jaime With the entertainment team. Our room was a bit dated, and the windows rattled really bad, but it was extremely clean. The food was very good, especially at Portofino and Gaucho. The buffets are a little bit smaller than what we were used to, and there was no fruit at lunch, which was disappointing. The staff the buffet were great, especially Noe and Humberto. We chose this resort because it said it had a beautiful beach and it really is a beautiful beach. The only thing is there’s not room on the beach so there is a constant battle for chairs. The staff would bring you one if you asked, however. If you love the sun, there’s also a slight issue there. It is no fault of anyone on the staff. It’s just the buildings are and you’re in the hotel zone and they block the sun until afternoon. I love the sun so I was constantly trying to find places I could soak up some rays. All in all, it was a nice resort. The staff works very hard and are very friendly. They were extremely kind and accommodating to children.
