• Judith HAMOU-MARION ou (7/5): Calme, propre et bien situé, mais peu authentique pour un ryokan. - l’hôtel était calme, propre et très bien situé. Notre chambre donnait sur une cour privée, ce qui était agréable et reposant. Nous avons été un peu déçus de constater qu’il n’y avait pas de petite salle de bain ni de baignoire privatisable pour pouvoir se détendre, seulement des douches. Bien qu’il s’agisse d’un ryokan, nous avons trouvé que l’ambiance manquait d’authenticité et de chaleur, notamment à cause des nombreuses affiches présentes un peu partout. Les yukata n’étaient pas proposés spontanément, et comme on ne pense pas forcément à les demander, c’est dommage. Enfin, limiter les serviettes à une seule par personne n’est pas très pratique, surtout lorsqu’on reste plusieurs nuits.

La porte a un locker qui fait trop de bruit à chaque fois. Réveil 6h chaque jour à cause du bruit !! Matelas très inconfortable.

• Pierre (9/5): Un beau ryokan avec la meilleure localisation qui soit à Kyoto - La meilleure localisation qui soit au coeur de Gion, le quartier historique de Kyoto. On ne peut pas rêver un meilleur emplacement pour découvrir la vieille ville. C'est un ryokan typique bien entretenu, la chambre est de bonnes dimensions (pour le Japon) et le personnel sympathique. Le seul point noir c'est le wifi, qui fonctionne vraiment mal dans la chambre. Le système des douches à pression où il faut pousser 15 fois le bouton par douche pour continuer à faire sortir l'eau est un peu fastidieux également.

Proper kitchen area, fully equipped, decent showers and everything! I was surprised no one went to the top floor hang out area (was there by myself both times!) as it’s so cosy and cute!

The beds are not connected to each other so you don’t feel the person below you moving about. It feels like you have your own a little room rather than just a bed in a dorm.

• KAWTHER (10/5): My stay at Gion Ryokan Q-beh as a solo traveler was truly a memorable experience. - I absolutely loved being immersed again in a traditional Japanese house, it gave the whole trip a more authentic and cultural feel that you just can’t get from modern hotels. The neighborhood was another highlight for me. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring. At the same time, the location was very convenient, as it’s close to several popular tourist spots in Kyoto, which made getting around easy and stress-free. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely love to experience it again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy, traditional, and well-located place to stay in Kyoto. While my overall stay was enjoyable, there were a couple of downsides worth mentioning. The cold water took quite a long time to warm up, especially at the sink/lavatory, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the walk to and from the main road or the property itself can be a bit of a distance. It’s still manageable, but something to keep in mind, especially if you’re carrying luggage or coming back late at night.

• Ines (10/5): - Personnel adorable, ils vous conseillent, papotent avec vous. C’est très agréable. L’établissement en lui même est très joli, typique de Kyoto et centenaire d’ailleurs ! Il y a deux salles de repos/à manger, avec de quoi cuisiner au RDC. J’ai dormi dans un dortoir fille et il était confortable. Il y a un petit peu d’espace pour mettre sa valise (point positif) et la configuration fait qu’on se sent dans un petit cocon, avec de l’intimité, même si on partage la chambre avec d’autres personnes. L’emplacement est également idéal car à deux pas de Gion et de Nene No Michi. Bref, j’ai adoré. Je vous recommande ! RAS

• Sudhanshu Ratna (8/5): Perfect for stay in the kyoto - Everything is good except one thing I had already checked out in the morning and returned in the evening to collect my luggage. While I was in the kitchen boiling an egg, a lady at the reception spoke to me in a harsh manner, questioning why I was there. She then gave me an ultimatum to leave within five minutes. I was quite surprised by this, as I was simply preparing some food.

• Kelly (9/5): Highly recommend it here, enjoyed my stay immensely. Thank you! - Clean, everything clearly labeled and easy to navigate and use. Hot showers, good washer and dryer too! So cute and traditional, everyone was polite, short walk into gion/ touristy areas... the whole package! It would be nice if there was a sign people could put on their curtain to indicate that they are sleeping/ need quiet. I would be in the room in the morning/ evening doing everything as quiet as possible because I wasn't sure who was still asleep, which made some activities kind of cumbersome.
• Francesca (9/5): Amazing vibes! - Amazing place! Traditional Japanese ryokan with a quiet hostel vibes. Very tidy and clean (in line with the Japanese standards). The private rooms are very comfortable and beautiful. The staff is helpful and friendly. The shared facilities are clean and quiet. The location is amazing. There’s a space to leave the luggages. You can also borrow a yukata if you ask! The corridors are cold (minor issue). The water in the showers takes time to become hot, and it becomes cold again after some minutes (you have to wait again until it gets hot). The dryer is not powerful at all, after one hour our clothes were still more than humid.

• Yulia (9/5): Cozy traditional accommodation in the heart of Gion - The accommodation was great, and the location is brilliant. Situated on a quiet street, it is walking distance to two temples, the centre, and shops/restaurants. The beds are traditional, but very comfortable. Only downside was waiting for the shower to heat up. Given that it's an older residence in a historic area, this wasn't a major issue.
