- Curiosity25978708077 (6/5): The rooms are clean and the staff friendly but the odor is unbearable and needs to be attended to as soon as possible. - The rooms are clean, everything you need, was in the room, staff are friendly but the odor is unbearable. It is a health hazard to inhale the polluted air. All three of us staying there has sore throats the next morning. When going out at the back door entrance, the odor became worst. Unfortunately I can not recommend your establisgment due to the odor.

Breakfast was good. The general overview of the room and facility is 3-4 stars. The front desk staff on check-in was friendly and helpful. Hotel appearance is generally good and you feel safe at all times and it is quiet. Perhaps pillows can be re-looked at.
- Connector35984739478 (6/5): Bit expensive, beds are not that comfy, cushions are very "flat" doesn't support your head enough for a good night's rest - Beds are not soft, cushions very flat not good for a great night's rest, breakfast expensive for the variety provided. Only scrambled egg and dry chicken strips with chakalaka and toast, for R120 is a bit expensive. Also recommend dustbin for the room and not only the toilet,as well as toilet brushes

It would not be too bad to add sugar, making coffee for 2 people becomes challenging as there's only 2 sachets of sugar and 2 candarel.

I also had a special request which was acceded to. The was a microwave which came very handy to my needs. There was an ice maker as well. The shower had hot water and there was a plan for loadshedding. Disappointing was the vending machine which refused to take money.

- Mapula (10/5): Our stay at Road Lodge - The stay at road lodge was very interesting, the furniture was okay and we hardly struggled to get by. However, the tea and sugars that were provided left much to be desired as the tea bags were not strong enough and the sugar was not sweet enough. Apart from this, the stay was okay.
- Rebecca (4/5): Lack of housekeeping as far as health & hygiene - After a 4hr journey, I went to the room. Very small but ok to just sleep. Them I went to the toilet and closed the sliding door just to find old dried up vomit all along the rail and floor. Hygiene is avery huge factor when it comes to travelling and using facilities numerous people use. I was so disgusted and appalled by the lack of housekeeping as far as hygiene is concerned. Then to after that, have no welcome pack of basic body wash or shampoo to take a shower after ones journey. Re eption said the 1 crumble bar of soap is enough for 2 guests. I asked for a women to use? Not considerate at all! We arent men. All genders should be taking into consideration.

Could not open the window as there was an extremely noisy central conditioning unit outside, presumably for the reception area.
- Vivian (4/5): Not what i expected - The carpets is a no no no. My sinus was troubling me the whole night because of a carpet. There is no fridge, no toiet brush no air freshener in the toilet. There was one glass to be shared by 2 people. The tiles in the toilet were sticky. The room was stuffy, air conditioner was not working. I am not a fussy person but i was disappointed by the state of the rooms.

- loicbellet (8/5): What you would expect from a Road Lodge - Friendly, clean, recently renovated. Walking distance to the Carnival City Casino via the car park. It is an affordable sleepover with all the basics covered. There is no dinner arrangement but with access to the Casino, you are spoilt for choice. They serve a continental breakfast for those who need to have a quick refreshment and go. Do not expect luxury and you won't be disappointed. Expect a basic stay and you'll be impressed.

- DeeAar123 (2/5): Carnival City Road Lodge is a shebeen - We paid a month in advance for this. The toilet door was broken/stuck, and we were advised by reception to use the toilet at the lobby/foyer because the maintanance people dont work on weekends! The security guard was nowhere to be seen, drunken guests were making noise in the passage throughout the night. Night duty receptionists were just as noisy in the early hours of Sunday morning. If you are looking for a peaceful sleep, please try elsewhere!

Front desk take ages to answer the phone! Location is good for Carnival City but its a terrible hotel to try and sleep at. I was woken up numerous times by shouts outside my room. My advice, stay away!

- CELESTE (2/5): - I booked my 74 year old dad and 71 year old mom into this hotel to spend my dad's birthday there. They were unable to stay on the premises due to extreme noise.There was a bus full of school children booked in there who made such terrible noise that they were unable to sleep. SO they just left. The guy at the front desk apologised and informed them to get a refund for the room, as they were unable to sleep there. How do I go about this process?

During morning hours our gas bottle was stolen from our food truck. Were are security? Also had to ask for towels, since none was in room.

Good quality rooms and clean bedding. High value that you pay for. This ideal for a business sleep-over and very convenient should you visit Carnival City.

- Ndavhe (6/5): A good sleep over for cyclists - A perfect hussle-free place to crash for the night after 2 days of cycling from Limpopo to Gauteng. The amenities are standard and service was great, comfortable beds and clean place. Within a walking distance to restaurants and entertainment area inside Carnival City. The reservation just need to up their strength on details of what guests have requested for their stay. We had small issue with claim that we didn't pay for breakfast, yet that information was provided in an email.

- Llewellyn (2/5): Major Security Issue for guests - I suggest that the wooden door leading to the stairs be fitted with a lock and only card holders to open the door after 22H00. We were woken up by lost visitors, first at 03H45 and then again at 04H15, after phoning the front desk, the security was send up. This is leaving guests open to any person just entering at free will to the rooms, and people can get killed, robbed and the Roadlodge would not know about it.

In the morning we were spoiled with a lovely breakfast before we went out??? will definately gibe them a YES FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVENT GOT A PLACE TO SLEEP WITH BED AND BREAKFAST?? Secure a booking here if you don't want to drive back out of town at night when at Carnival City Entertainment world. Staff aren't friendly and are picky on how and who to speak to and give the best service. One thing I like is the follow up on reservation prior to checking in to ensure if you are still travelling and need the booked room. very efficient on there.
