The front facing rooms look out over the highway /restaurant, and gas.. While convenient, it didn't add to the rustic, peaceful vibe. The rooms out the back have the views you see on the ads, so if that matters to you, ask for those!

There was plenty to do in the area. Breakfast (pre-packaged cinnamon rolls?) and outlets! Hard to plug in phone and tablet...hairdryer and curling iron...

The bed was soft and I thought I’d have a problem with it but I did sleep well! The price for the room was good! If you wanted to have coffee outside there was a nice pretty, big lawn area with a bench.

Breakfast was exactly as we were told. Coffee not available outside breakfast hours. I believe there was none as I went to refill the cup and the breakfast room was closed one minute before the end of breakfast time. I met another guy looking for coffee who didn't even know there was breakfast... Check-in until 10 PM could be a problem for travelers.

Toilet was also new, but for some reason they installed an industrial toilet instead of one you would normally find in home or a hotel.The towels were not white in our room either, which is surprising, although not a problem. More homey, which the toilet was not. Also no way to make hot water.

• Kathleen Cecelia (2/5): Bates Motel Meets Children of the Corn - The grounds were quite nice for my (unwelcome) service dog to use the restroom! Sometimes, family-owned is *not* a good thing because that family can be toxic. I have never had such an awkward & unpleasant experience with a motel. The staff was so unprofessional and, quite frankly, acted like children. First of all, if you are staying here with a dog, you are being charged double, with (2) a more pricey pet room and (2) a $20/night pet fee. Scammy! Second, I let them know in advance that I was coming with a dog, which is my service dog. They asked about the breed, they did not ask whether she was a service dog. The only requirement regarding service dogs is that they have to be checked in before 9pm - there was nothing about "advance notice" on service animals. So they knew I had booked a Pet Room and that a dog was with me. I did try to email them stating that she was a service dog, but this last message went to a Booking.com email address instead. Upon check-in, they asked for my credit card to charge me the $20 pet fee. I responded that because my dog is a service animal, they could not charge me a pet fee. Apparently, the dude did not like that I reminded him of the Inn's obligations under the ADA because he essentially shut down. This Inn had the nerve to accuse me of being "aggressive," "rude," and "combative" in a complaint to Booking.com that they did not know about my service dog in advance. Merely because I *calmly* held my ground against being charged a pet fee for a service dog when they knew a dog was coming and received a higher rate from me due to my booking of a pet room. Ugh, I have never been gaslit by a motel before like this. So you can imagine, I did not feel welcome here. Further the microwave in my room, after I plugged it in, did not work. The next day, upon check out, the lady didn't even make eye contact with me when I gave my room keys back, yikes! I would highly encourage others using Booking.com to avoid this motel at all costs.

• Odyssey01431896543 (4/5): Do not recommend - We walked into the “non smoking” room and the smell was putrid. The desk clerk did offer a new room. That was the best of the experience. The beds were real low to the floor (like a camp bunk) and were uncomfortable to say the least. I found 2 bugs, one alive and one dead. They offered rags to wash your face if you had makeup on (not kidding). There was one tube of shampoo and nothing else. The “ breakfast” was coffee, stale Cinnabons, opened jugs of juice, stale breakfast bars, and yogurt. I went to check out and there was a blonde lady behind the desk. She did not look up nor acknowledge me. I finally just put the keys on the counter. Again, no acknowledgement. Finally I asked for the bill. She was rude and told me they already have it to me. I eventually figured out my roommate signed for it at check in. She tossed it on the counter and continued her rudeness. I was a little put off I must admit, but her attitude was unacceptable. The gentleman at check in was pleasant at each encounter.

The room we stayed in was hospitably decorated in a colonial American theme. The shower was comfortingly hot. The bed was cozy. Just a great experience.
