Guest Reviews
- LAURA (10/5): - All, have all the amenities, was very clean, comfortable, definitely we love it
- Daniel (6/5): Served the purpose. - The motel was OK, not great but also not bad. The exterior (paint) has been updated and the interior was fair to average. The rooms could have been a little cleaner. There was some mold/mildew (not a lot) in the bathroom.
- Anderson (8/5): - Wasn't a breakfast
- Don (9/5): Super cute place, we loved it! -
- Scott (6/5): -
- Craig (8/5): Comfortable, campy and good place for a couple of nights - Great location Bit dated
- James (6/5): It was clean and pleasant. Mattress needs to be replaced. - Clean and tidy Mattress in unit 1 needs to be replaced. Also, a fair amount of noise from road and other guests coming in at all hours
- Craig (5/5): - We found out the motel served our purpose. The bedspreads and blankets were old and worn thin so we went to target and bought quilts to use instead. We then discovered the hair dryer was broken and asked the front desk for a replacement to which they said they did not have one. There was no attempt to help us so back to Target we went to purchase a dryer. On the plus side, the room was cost effective, clean and bathroom updated. Overall we most likely will stay elsewhere in the future.
- Andrew (7/5): - Nice location, the cost, your car is right there. The bed was hard. I would have to say the traffic was loud. I would move to a back area next time, if possible.
- Karen (9/5): I would recommend to others and stay here again. - Comfortable bed. Hot plate. Quiet. Lots of lawn to walk my dog. Retro theme is delightful. Good location. The refrigerator froze everything. Even at the lowest setting.
Housekeepers sitting in the lawn chairs outside my room. They should have another designated space for taking breaks.
- Grant (10/5): - Love the refurbished rooms. Small but clean and efficient.
- David (10/5): We were well taken care of and look forward to staying there in the future - Well maintained Nothing
- Keegan (9/5): Stayed an extra night was so cute. Highly recommend. - Cute, private and spacious Tv system was outdated and no deadbolts on the rooms. We stayed an extra night we loved our stay.
- Jenna (10/5): - It was cute, cozy, and clean!
- Mark (9/5): Great stay! - You can pull right up to your room. It was very quiet, it seemed like we were there only ones there. Nice comfortable rooms. No chairs in the room for seating to watch TV. After a while, sitting on the bed made your back sore.
- Francis (6/5): -
- Rene (9/5): Enjoyable relaxing & economical - I liked the retro feel. Reminded me of vacations when I was a kid. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. N/a
- Edward (8/5): - Very cute and clean. It's a bit of a hike up the county.

- Tim (6/5): - Pictures posted were different than what the facility and room actually looked like.
- Kim (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean and cozy rooms. Loved the kitchenette.
- Mario (9/5): Easy to find, great location to launch you getaway, - Easy to find, great location to launch you getaway. The heater / humidifier was in the room, but understandable.
- Cherlyn (8/5): - Rooms clean, nice layout of room. Internet goes out more than I would like. Friendly staff. Door handle needs replacing. Great value!!
- Cherlyn (10/5): - Working trip
- Linda (6/5): - Room #21: The carpet was soaked from a full dehumidifier. The room felt damp and smelled musty. We asked for another room - none were available... so we asked for more towels to soak up the water. They only had decaf coffee. Only 1 room key worked. The bed was comfortable.
- Tina (10/5): - Updated, easy access to Door County, great value and excellent parking.
- Daniel (9/5): - Great location, clean and priced reasonably
- Steven (4/5): - We’ve stayed here before and loved it. This trip the beds were bouncy and the trash staying a couple doors down sat outside smoking weed 4-5 times including loudly at 11pm & 6am. We left 1 day early . Last day refunded but was very disappointed in this stay
- Jeffrey (10/5): - This place blew me away. I have been driving by it for decades, and when I stayed there I found it was beautifully remodeled, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had a stocked and functional kitchenette. 100% recommend.
- Myra (8/5): - Cute retro motel. Price was right
- John (10/5): -
- Jo Ann (5/5): - Good bath linens
Plenty hot water Dirty coffee pot
Dirty kitchen utensils
Dirty heating cooling filter
Dumping dehumidifier daily
Dirty sheets
- Debra (7/5): -
- Rick (9/5): -
- Marla (10/5): Wonderful - The layout was great the place was nice, the bed were comfy!! Love this place!
- Janice (10/5): - Clean room, pet friendly.
- John (3/5): We were happy to leave in the morning. - Most of the room was dirty: stains on the wall, dirt/marks on the bedding, carpet was filthy, kitchen sink not sparkling clean, bathroom tiles around edges of room when dirty, stains on the air conditioning unit. Two hours after we went to bed, a fuse must have blown—cutting power to our CPAP machines.
- Mike (10/5): - love the visit back in time
- Roger (8/5): 1950’s style motel - Friendly helpful staff, the room was ready when we arrived a little ahead of schedule. The room was clean and well laid out. The beds were firm and we needed to adjust to the firmness.
Overall it was a good lower price lodging.
- Bethany (8/5): - Hotel was a good place to stay in Door County. It was convenient, clean, and safe. We would stay here again. The only downside is that the beds are a little uncomfortable and noisy when you get in/out of bed. Otherwise, it was all in good, clean condition, and it was a great place to stay.
- Eileen (6/5): Good enough - Last minute weekend away.
The good:
Effortless check-in
Courteous staff
Car close to the room
Quiet at night despite location
Soft bedding
Cute remodeled bathroom - loved the tile
Price was below average for area
Chairs outside room
Pets are welcome (we didn’t bring one)
kitchenette - fridge worked well and was cold. Dishes. Hot plate. Microwave. Lil coffee pot.
The things that could be better:
Water pressure
Would prefer a Tub OR hand held shower head
Room was a little tired- but priced accordingly
Pets welcome+carpet (always prefer hard surface floors. Allergies, cleanliness)
(Nit picky but) the outside area in front of my room entrance needed a power wash.
- Joannes (8/5): Great value but not a "beach vibe" like smaller touristic towns in Doors County - Location is a few miles north of the popular beach towns and you see that in the lower price. Our room had a decent kitchenette. Sturgeon Bay is also nice and less touristic.
- Danielle (5/5): I think I said enough above. - Love the retro style. The last time we stayed it was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, this time the bathroom floors weren’t very clean and the beds not very comfortable.
We had to leave a day early due to 3 tragic deaths of our friends in a house fire.
They said they would credit us for the Sunday night fee.
I guess I’ll find out when I get my credit card statement.
- Verified traveler (10/5): cozy vintage motel - Motel 57 was cute it was a cozy vintage motel with some modern upgrades! It had all the ammeneties needed. Although there was a few cobwebs in the corners and the hair drier did not work overall it was a comfortable stay and all the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Marlon (10/5): Great place for a quick getaway in Door county - Great location, has everything one needs and very clean.
They also sell cool Door County tshirts with map on it for great price.
Reception has lots of great material for activities and food in Door County The pillows were super lumpy.
Afternoon reception was unfriendly.
- Shawn (10/5): Awesome stay - Awesome place will stay again No complaints at all
- Kendra (8/5): - Making a u turn to get into it was annoying
- Dennis (10/5): - friendly staff at check in. Room was immaculate.
- Jin (9/5): We enjoyed it a lot - Very clean. Cute design. Pretty quiet in our room. Convenient location. Better than expected. The mattress is a little too soft for me personally but still comfortable.
- Jan (9/5): -
- Cana (10/5): - Super friendly staff, clean place and had everything we needed to enjoy our honeymoon!
- jessy (10/5): - Great place.
- Robert L. (10/5): - There is space to park our boat.
- Jessica Miklasz (9/5): -
- Ivan (7/5): -
- Suzann (10/5): Cute MCM motel - The motel was very clean and decorated very cute. The bathroom was very nice and modern. Both women at check and check out were very pleasant. I loved the history of the place and the reno completed to look MCM. I would recommend staying here!
- Barbara (10/5): - Kind of on the outskirts of the city, but you couldn’t beat the price for something convenient to Door County. Property is older, but they have embrace that with mid-century modern charm and decorations.
- Tad (10/5): - Very clean; great location; great price; love the chairs outside to relax and enjoy a cocktail; old school charm
- Stanley (4/5): Dreadful 3 days in Sturgeon Bay Wi. - Tacky!! Had to change travel plans it was only hotel available!! For Good Reason!! Grosss!! Sticky carpet..squeaky bed!! Roller shades didnt work..cheap curtains that barely covered window..Was Glad to Leave!!!
- Jody (8/5): - Cute rooms, microwave and dorm fridge. Two burner hot plate. Air conditioning works well, and it was quiet. I have not stayed in many motels and am not certain I like having my door open to the outside, although it is easy to load and unload your vehicle. The covered porch and lawn chairs were nice when it rained. The room needed a few minor repairs.
- Alexandr (10/5): Nice place, we would stay here again. - It was clean, quiet even though it’s near the road, and in a good location. We liked having the little kitchen. Good price too. Nothing, we liked everything.
- Daniel (10/5): - Property is old but well maintained and cared for by friendly staff
- Doane (7/5): -
- Karen (6/5): Super cute room! - Super cute retro room! Nicer than we were expecting. Liked having a little fridge and freezer and the kitchenette was well stocked! Everything was clean, except the interior shower curtain was a bit soiled. The only bad thing were the beds! They were very bouncy, had pits, and just not comfortable. Given that the idea is a place to sleep, I feel this is an upgrade that should be addressed. I would stay again, if I knew the beds would be comfortable. It was a great location for a one night little Door Co get away.
- Ian (8/5): - It is to be expected for the price, but there are some places where improvement could happen — our toaster didn’t work, the WiFi was weak, etc.
- Joseph (8/5): - Very laid back no noisy annoying enormous RV’s with generators and AC going. Short drive to Empire
- Debra (8/5): - Very nice small kitchen perfect for a short stay.
- Elaine (8/5): Good value - Plates, silverware, etc, but no pots. Clean and comfortable for sleeping. Parking right in front of outside door. No spot in bathroom to put essentials, even though there was room for a table along the wall.
- D (5/5): Poorly run motel - Very pretty retro style, but I wouldn’t stay here again. No hair dryer. Only 2 hangers, no more available. No extra blanket. I requested that no scent be used in the room due to severe allergies, but the room was cleaned with lemon scented cleanser. We aired it for 4 hours before I could go in. Fortunately, the windows opened. Stained mugs needed cleaning.
- Cassandra (10/5): Rooms were very clean, I’m a professional cleaner out of Washington and I can say that I approve!! Wonderful staff. When - $2.00 per load for on site laundry, each room has chairs outside and available grills. Our rooms kitchenette was fully equipped and even had a fold out bar to eat. Walls are NOT thin either! There was some group being loud in the parking lot but i couldn’t even hear them from inside of the room, So really no complaints about this place!!
- Toutant (7/5): It was fine.bed was comfortable - Very clean Tv remote didn’t work at first. Also they had ants. Black Ants
- Jay (10/5): - Fantastic property and the pricing is excellent.
- Jessica (8/5): Okay if you’re saving money. - Definitely inexpensive. We liked the retro vibe. Someone was smoking nearby though and everything smells like smoke. It was clean but we didn’t feel comfortable having a turn down every day because of the location. Make sure to run (and continually empty) the dehumidifier or everything will feel muggy and smell musty. Any time I asked for towels or toilet paper (which was once each over six days) it seemed like I was asking a lot of them, so that was weird. Also one of the other tenants stole one of our chairs off the front porch. Fortunately they put it back the next day, but that was really weird that they were allowed to do that. The beds were okay. Kind of worn. Don’t book if you have a bad back. I thought the traffic noise would keep us awake but it wasn’t too bad. The staff were friendly but I don’t think they could help in case of emergencies. No security that I could see. I didn’t feel safe to leave anything too precious in the room during the day. I think someone was in our room one day because it really smelled like smoke one day. Two of the mugs in the cabinet were dirty upon our checkin. Everything else seemed clean. The bathroom was cute. Next time I think we will book something a little more expensive.
- Cora (2/5): - Dirty
- Jenna (10/5): Cure Motel, great value - Great stay, room was immaculate & has everything you need… comfy beds, kitchenette, great location.
- Melanie (8/5): - The place is clean and parking spot is a plus! It has easy access around town stores, restaurants and more! And pet friendly too!
- Jon (10/5): Exactly what we needed. - Unaware of any breakfast offerings.
- Fred (8/5): - Retro cute little roadside motel. Worked for a one night stay while we were trying to avoid the areas average prices of $200-250/night. Nice kitchen space. Dated but pretty clean. Beds were way too hard for us. Otherwise acceptable.
- Brog (8/5): Very good -
- Jola (9/5): Superb -
- Danielle (10/5): Great stay! - I love how retro it is!
Beds are very comfortable.
- Michael (8/5): - I likeded my stay at Motel 57; and I would stay there again if I am in the area. This motel had everything that I needed and more. It looks like a hotel from the 1950's and it is not plush on the inside, so if you are looking for modern furnishings you might be disappointed, but it is functionally complete with everything that you need for a stay.
- Brenda (4/5): - Won't stay there again. Room wasn't ready on time and a key was missing. Then was it supposedly was, room stunk musty and strong smell of cleaning agent; enough to make you sick. Floors weren't swept or vacuumed, sheets appeared dirty and hair on sheets between blanket. Was a kitchenette but no forks and some of the dishes were dirty.
- Victoria (8/5): - It was comfortable and convenient to get to destinations in town, I would stay there again.
- Andrea (10/5): - A reasonable place to stay in Door Co.
- scott (8/5): - Clean quiet and a little outdated but overall good place to stay
- Linda (10/5): Clean, quaint, friendly - Quaint, impeccably clean, retro 50’s but with nice updates, conveniently located
- Shaun (2/5): - Dirty sheets
- Penny (9/5): Superb - It is an iconic motor lodge in excellent condition. Right on 57 but off the road so traffic noise isn't bothersome. The room had excellent lighting.
- Linda (10/5): - This motel had a cozy, friendly feel from the time we pulled up. Check-in was quick, and our room was very comfortable. We were mostly gone during the daytime, but it felt safe when we returned from our days of exploring Door County. Nice hot shower and decent water pressure, and the cable TV worked well. The only negative that I can think of, is that the floors felt a bit damp. We just kept our flip-flops or slippers on. I would definitely go back!(This was a great Girls Getaway Weekend for a couple of 60+ year old ladies)
