Guest Reviews
- Ciaran (6/5): Friendly welcome, basic rooms - Room was dated but everything functional, owners were welcoming. Good location. OK for price.
- andrew (2/5): - On the first evening, I lifted the bed covers and found a bed bug. Combined with the overwhelming smell in the place, I had to leave on my first night. I had booked two rooms for four nights, but couldn’t even stay one. I contacted Expedia. Explained the situation. No refund was issued from the owners. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. The Expedia customer service was good though.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The owner was lovely and extremely polite and helpful. Sadly the property was a massive let down. There was a terribly strong and off putting smell of dog. The room had everything needed, but was tired and rough around the edges with poor quality linen and cheap nasty pillows. The shower area was dirty. On reflection, it's a shame we didn't pay more and book elsewhere. We paid £40 a night and I think it reflected the price in the type of stay we experienced. It's a sad really as the lady owner was lovely.
- tammy (2/5): Discusting - Got there the house had funny smell , got to room tv was not working told the owner they wasnt interested just said somtimes it dosnt , after asking over again for help with mending it or changing the room we were in for one withh working tv they said basically we had to just deal with it so didnt have any tv for full stay , when we opened the drawers in the room there was food in there from previos customers , the toilet seat had poo on it , the shower was dirty and had black mould at the bottom could not even have a shower ,when we went out at night time then came back they had had the heating on full blast and considering how hot it was this weekend obviously when we walked in our room we was on the top floor i could barely breathe it was that hot we had one small broken window that couldnt be opened more than an inch because it was broke , i asked the manger for a fan because i was so uncomfortable in the heat he said he didnt have one i would just have to wait for the heating to go off so , i could not sleep all night cause of the heat and did not even have tv to watch . Worst experiance would never go again £148 for 2 nights
- Craig (8/5): - Nice stay at the miramar for a budget hotel. Got everything you could want. Everything about this place was good. Yes it’s tired looking and could do with more maintenance, but this is why you pay what you do.
I would definitely stay here again. But please buy some air fresheners, the smell of dogs if so over powering. I personally think a good carpet clean and nice smellies in the hallways could do the trick.
- David (8/5): - Friendly owners who are very helpful
- David (8/5): - Great location
- Ann (10/5): - Reg was wonderful went the extra mile
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely people - Owners couldn’t have been more friendlier. Stayed Halloween and it was decorated amazingly
- Nicola (4/5): Anonymous - I hate leaving a bad review but i wouldn't recommend this property it was dirty it smelt horrible, the cups were left from the previous guests and were dirty. The beds were uncomfortable didn't sleep the room needs a good make over. The owners were very nice though just a shame about the hotel itself.
- Ian (8/5): - A very enjoyable stay would recommend to everyone
- Stuart (8/5): - Comfy and quiet
- Nicky (6/5): - It was ok 👍
- Vicky (2/5): - Absolutely discusting. Didnt sleep on the bed. Stunk really bad of dogs. beds werent clean. The carpets were sticky and not hoovered. I wouldnt put my dog in there to sleep
- peter (4/5): Short stay last minute. Will not go back. - Hotel very dated. Had a very musty and smokey old smell all over. Bed very old and uncomfortable. Room 4/10.
- Pamela (4/5): - Place smelt as soon as you walk in door. free parking was advertised but no spaces.room was tiny
- Jamie Alexander (2/5): - When I arrived at the hotel I was instantly hit with dog pee there was no breakfast at the hotel so I hat to pay £6 at another hotel around the corner
- Wendy (6/5): - Area was great close to where we needed to be , dissapointed no towels for shower had to buy 2 , an there was dust all over top kettle so had to wash before use an on window sill an round edge carpet x .
- stephen (10/5): Miramar hottel overall a good time - Worth £30 pound a night the owners were helpful and friendly good location had problem with deposit paid but they said they will chase this up.for me will stay here again
- Louise (10/5): - Lou and reg we lovely hosts they were always there for a laugh and I couldn’t fault them looking after us, would stay again!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dont book - When we arrived went into their front room to check in and landlady was holding a dog which wasnt stated there was animals on site. There was also a parrot in a big cage. We were showed to our room which was absolutely filthy. When you walked up the 3 flights of stairs to it all you could smell was damp and dirt. She had trimmed up for Halloween but didnt need to use fake cobwebs or dust it was real. Beds were so uncomfortable that we both are in agony now with back ache. Long black hairs on pillow and im blonde. Black bits all in bed . Had to sleep on top of bed. Someone elses old toothpaste in sink when we arrived. Literally cant get the smell of damp out of our nose. DONT BOOK HERE
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We were on top floor in tiny room even tho no one else there bathroom really small had mould wouldn't turn off bed could feel springs room was cold and TV didn't work
- Susan (6/5): Value for money but not my favourite - The bedding was clean but the bedroom and adjoining bathroom needs a good clean in the nooks and crannies . The thing I found most disturbing was the smell of wet dog . It was not in our room but crept up The staircase from the private living room. Over all we had a cheap room for two nights. Free parking but no breakfast so cannot comment on the food.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Disappointing stay for the money paid. Was greeted by someone who showed us to our room and that was the last we saw of the owners!
Hallways smelled strongly of Dogs, luckily, the smell did not reach the top floor where are room was situated.
Found 2 passports in the room drawer and some medication, handed these in but doubtful the room had been cleaned prior to our visit. Cups also had remnants of last drink made in them.
On a good note, the hotel was quiet.
- Scott (10/5): Great - Brilliant hotel , owners were so friendly and helpful
- Rachael (10/5): Great stay in Blackpool - The couple who run this hotel are so lovely. They were so helpful and friendly. They let us park for free outside and also let us check in earlier which made our stay much easier. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff at the hotel were nice, clean enough room but the pole holding up the shower was broken and made it difficult to get a shower and the toilet sliding door was coming off the hinges and kept getting stuck along the floor.
- Pam (2/5): - Extremely dirty and grubby. Dogs and birds roaming around. A foul smell was present throughout the accommodation.
- Kevin (4/5): - Very poor.
1.No Free Parking- You have to pay in a council run CP. It's location is around the corner.....
2. There's a smell of animals in reception and in hotel. There's all sorts of pets in the reception area..
3.En suite shower was broken!!
Overall very poor for what is advertised.
WILL NOT USE/ RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AGAIN!👎👎👎👎👎👎
- David (8/5): Overall good cheap place to stay. - The hotel was ok for the price, the bedroom l had was not big enough for two single beds as I shared with a friend, the family that run it was lovely.
- I (10/5): Great hotel - Great location, staff are very friendly will definitely be staying there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely staff
- Hazel (6/5): - Place needs a bit of attention window wouldn't shut then when did it wouldn't open again, extractor fan didnt work. I kept banging my head on wall light when sitting in bed. But the hosts were very friendly but the place smelt like dog.
- Deit (10/5): - close enough to the sea front and the tower but far enough away from the noisyest patr within walking distance to town coach station the tower coral island and the beach i had three young children with me and the propriotors were excelent and we all experienced a typical warm blackpool welcome room size not to everybodys taste but hey we are in blackpool !!!!!!
- Bob (8/5): - Lovely stay and lovely owners..room could do with some tlc however! Thankyou!
- Michelle (4/5): Cheap for the price - Lovely family very friendly and helped with query. Nice man lifted cases up. However the room was very dirty and I had to sanitise everything. Bed was comfortable but I was not confident that sheets had not been used as there were hairs and bits in the bed. Place is dated and could do with a clean and redecor. Shower curtain very dirty. Shower was hot though and bed was comfortable but we slept on top of duvet and bought throws.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The place was tired. Although the management were nice, breakfast was not offered. The en suite bathroom was a little tight. The shower cubicle door would not close properly and the whole place required a great dose of TLC.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Miramar - We were greeted on entry and shown to our room straight away. Mattresses were a bit lumpy and the whole place could do with some tlc. For the price though it was acceptable
- Angela (8/5): - Lovely people and a great breakfast, very helpful and accommodating. Room basic but that’s all we needed could of done with another pillow but didn’t ask for one as it was late other than that it’s a okay place to sleep if that’s all you need
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, comfy bed and the people running it are lovely.
- Miss (8/5): Weekend stay - Great couple that's running the hotel, very friendly and helpful
- theresa (6/5): - Only 2 spaces for parking, room small no facilities. The only thing that was good was breakfast.
- Tony (10/5): Blackpool Trip - Brilliant couple that run the place. 100% stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Miramar stay - Staff very welcoming and pleasant with a great sense of humour. The location of the hotel is perfect for those sampling the Blackpool nightlife. The bed wasn't the comfiest but suitable for a weekend stay. The kettle looks like a replacement needs to be considered but that definitely isn't a big enough reason not to return. I'll definitely be back when another Blackpool trip is on the cards :)
- june (8/5): Nice comfortable hotel - Lovely welcoming and departure will defo go back close to all amenities and lovely welcoming family we a had a little to much to drink and the landlady came to door let us in most attentive thanks again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Made to feel welcomed and at hime - Friendly and homely staff. Was greeted with a warm smile, great atmosphere and a beer. Anything that was needed was met. Cheery morning welcome with a great breakfast to go with it. Would definitely stay again.
- rachel (10/5): - Reg & his Mrs’ were very welcoming and we loved our stay here. We will be booking back up again next month. + Right near the city centre!
- Sharon (8/5): - The Miramar owners were a lovely couple. Very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy. Kettle tea coffee etc in room. Comfy bed. We didn't have breakfast has we didn't get up in time. We left about 11.30am and the owners weren't trying to throw us out early. Would stay again.
- Kirsty (10/5): New years eve stay. - Very good stay, the couple that owned this guest house made us all feel very welcome and if we needed anything was more than happy to help. Good value for money, would stay here again and would recommend to others. Also good quality breakfast. Cannot really fault!
- Mr Alan Mc (4/5): - The room was clean, but very basic, it was advertised at double and two single, turned out to be bunk beds.(it was booked and paid for 4 but 3 of the party did not stay and did not get a refund)
The beds were uncomfortable, lumpy.
The family were nice and friendly, breakfast was small but nice enough, nice pot of tea.
The towels were of poor quality.
The shower flow was weak.
Sorry to the proprietors , but would not stay or recommended it others.
