• Robert (8/5): Good will come back - Our room was close to the pool, the pool was fresh and clean. the staff were very attentive in service of food and drinks around the pool. The hotel is quite central close to all the bars and restarunts. All good for this standard of hotel.

• Anna (8/5): Relaxation - Sativa Cottages is fabulous accommodation, 5 minute walk to get to the main boardwalk that runs along Sanur. Restos, cafes, bakeries, coffee, and the beach at your leisure. I walked this daily. You can hire bikes also, and it's flat! So quiet at Sativa! You can rest, or float in the amazing pool! Loved it here🌺✨️🌴🍹 Nothing i didn't like

Cabinetry in the room was poor quality, couldn't close the drawers at the bottom of the wardrobe. Had to turn the fridge off at night as it would startle me awake each time it clicked on.

Das schlimmste aber waren die Zugänge zum Pool. Alle drei Treppen waren kaputt und es bestand Verletzungsgefahr

Bathroom windows have no coverings and can see straight in. Staff were accomodating and placed plastic on window for privacy but would recommend they update all rooms

Breakfast is well presented and with a good range. The Resort itself is just a little tired, but because these are Balinese Villa type rooms, no problem. ALL staff are so very friendly. All rooms have massive balconies, especially the ground floor ones. Location is unbeatable. Beach, bars and restaurants all with in a 5 min. walk. Will stop here, next time in Bali.

The room was mouldy Air con noisey and not cooling Stayed one night of 4 and had hot uncomfortable sleep. Woke up sick from mould. Breakfast was u healthy. Buffet food that was supposed to be cold was hot in the weather. The bay Marie with three options rice, noodle and so called bacon. All stone cold. So went safe route with poached eggs. 40 minutes later. Reception lovely. Advised we were sick and checking out. Refund promised when Manager was next on. The Sativa ghosted us. Booking.com represented our complaint. Sativa not cooperating. So no refund. And booking.com offered $35 USD towards our rewards account. Bottom line. Steer clear.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Stay away from the Health Hazard Hotel Stay away from Booking.com they have no control over their hotels. We checked in late at night for 4 nights. We checked out within 10 hours. Our room wreaked of mould. The air conditioning was rattling; noisey and not cold. The TV had no reception. No room service after 10pm. With no other option we stayed in the room for 10 hours and woke up sick in the morning. Then breakfast was a health hazard. The fruit selection was not cold or sitting on ice. Then only three items in Bay Marie Rice; noodles; and so called bacon. All stone cold. So asked for poached eggs as the safe bet. The eggs had broken up when dropped into water and they served it to me scrambled poached eggs. Sent back. The next two were overcooked. Sent back. 40 minutes later two soft poached eggs were served. Complained to Sativa Reception and told them the room and restaurant were in breach of health regulations and that we were sick from mouldy room and checking out. This was a Saturday. The lovely receptionist promised a refund but could not do so because Booking.com had not paid Sativa yet and the Manager won’t be at the hotel until Monday. Also complained to Booking.com who did not reply for days. By that time booking.com had paid the hotel. The hotel has not got back to me. Sativa has not responded to many messages. They have ghosted us. Booking.com were unable to resolve the matter with Sativa. Apologised to us and offered $35 USD for reward. For us it’s a matter of principle. The hotel is a health hazard in both the room and restaurant standards. And should be removed from Booking.com offerings.

The Balcony was great big . , Sativa had a great pool , Breakfast every morning , egg station , omelettes , Banana pancakes , pancakes , fresh fruit , croissants . Coffee , juice. Sativa is close to shops restaurants . There is a supermarket next door . A beauty salon , hairdressers massages next door worth a visit , reasonably priced , busy . You can hire a bike from Sativa 30,000 rupiah . Ride to the beach front lovely . I would stay again

• 573heathw (4/5): Sativa Cottages experience - Terrible place to stay. The shower was horrible as the shower mount aimed the water to the back wall of the shower about 2 foot above your head. The bed had no bedhead so the pillows fell of the bed. The breakfasts were alright but not a lot of variety. The cups and glasses didn't get replaced daily. If you want cheap accommodation that's exactly what you will get. We will definitely not be staying here again.

It's on a quiet alley but right near the main street so you can easily walk to yoga, the beach, cafes, and groceries.

• Vera (8/5): - We stayed in the Deluxe Room, Pool Access. It had the wooden doors which made the room a little dark. Next time we would book the room with the large glass doors. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really liked the traditional building with grass roof and the tropical garden space. The pool bar is not in use. The room is adequate although, as many others have commended, tired and could do with a refresh. The air-conditioning was ok for June but preferred something more effective. I don't believe this would be sufficient in hot months like February. Great location, easy 5 minute walk to the beach front and many cafes. Very poor WiFi/internet connection. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor area by the pool and in their cafe. Not great if you are a non smoker. Nice seating area outside. Sheets were not changed in 12 Days which is a bit disappointing. The photos online are true to the accommodation.

Very nice and relaxed stay with older tourists (we are in our 50's) and it suited us very well. We stayed for a week and could have stayed another week it was so quiet and peaceful. It is at the other further end of Sanur which we liked for a change. Less than 10 mins to beach, lots of nice places to eat. Would stay here again. Room was basic but very clean and comfortable.
• Brendan (8/5): - Great older traditional Balinese resort. Great gardens and pool with swim up bar. Significantly older clientele noted predominantly O55. Restaurant is reasonably priced and good based on evening experience. Thatched roofs have their issues…

• carterkenny (10/5): Great place to stop. - Just had another great stay at this resort. As before, good breakfast and grounds kept spotless. Rooms cleaned daily and linen changed as required. Good quantity of pool towels as a bonus. The position of this resort is unbeatable. Bars, restaurants and beach in easy walking distance. (Which means close for me.) Perhaps a little dated but this goes with the Balinese Villa style. A value for money resort.

• Seaside08405312335 (6/5): Does not look like the photos online, will stay in the middle of Sanur next time. - The room was clean, the bath was massive big enough for 3 people to sit in. The pool is right next to restaurant so not really relaxing, the tourist were from other countries mostly, have to get taxi's everywhere, Can walk to Massimo's Restaurant. Few silver and clothes shops near by, and a supermarket left when you walk down the laneway. Also an ATM. I liked our stay, but hard to communicate with kitchen staff about celiac disease can only eat Gluten Free food. They could only cook me Nasi Goreng. We had a nice stay, but wouldn't stay again, bit out of the way. Staff were nice.
• Toni Marie (10/5): - Property is nice large rooms, it is an older property but the staff are great beds are comfortable and the rooms large. Great for long stays
• Douglas Dana (8/5): - I felt the area was a little rundown. I’ve had better but the staff make up for it because the staff is actually incredible. Their service level made up for any of the issues we had in the units so if you like service, no problem.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - The photos are definitely misleading for this hotel. The rooms are very old and outdated. The extra bed that was put in our room was rusted and had screws sticking out that I had to screw in myself to avoid injury. The rate we paid for this accommodation was very over priced. It was very quiet. Although this was only a one night stay for us in between destinations. Personally I would not return to the cottages and if my stay was longer than one night I would have cancelled. The amenities were very poor, there was no soap or shampoo in dispensers. The bath was HUGE and no support rails to get in or out to shower. Non-slip may provided to place in bath while showering was very old and moulded.
• ther_zea2019 (10/5): Nice quiet and makes you feel like family - Perfect little hotel. Not too far from the beach where you can rent a chair for 10 000 rupiah (cash only) if you don’t want to use their pool that is. Good break fast, not too big but sufficient. Staff is amazing and their driver is awesome! Not only drivers but amazing guides! This place makes you feel welcome and at home. Stayed here in November 2022 (missed to review but better late than never…) and hope to come back here soon

• Nerida (7/5): We had a nice stay, it was good for the price. - Pools were good, room was good. We booked what was listed as a pool access room. It was really just a ground floor room that was close to the pool. Not what I would consider pool access.
