Comfortable room with small refrigerator great indoor/outdoor bathroom one with nature, little insects and all😊 it’s what it’s about. Friendly staff and delicious food! • van der Steen (10/5): Fantastisch, een paradijsje! - Na een last-minute boeking en een lange reisdag kwamen we aan bij Danta: wat een paradijsje! De gezamenlijke ruimte/restaurant, omgeven door natuur (direct bij de ingang squirrel-monkeys en een toekan). Ons huis lag midden in de jungle. Door de grote ramen (voorzien van gaas en oerfekt dicht) en de grote buitenbadkamer is de natuur heel dichtbij, wij vonden het fantastisch. Het huis staat op palen, met een mooie balkon met hangmat en ziet er keurig uit! Avondeten was top. Blijven zitten tijdens het ontbijt is een uitdaging met al die natuur om je heen: Blue morpho’s, helmbasilisken, veel vogels. Er is altijd wat te zien. De gastvrouw was ook top, en wees ons regelmatig op iets nieuws. Ook de wandelpaden rondom Danta zijn prachtig. Ga vooral rond zonsopgang naar de uitkijktoren, het uitzicht is fantastisch! Als we ooit teruggaan naar Costa Rica gaan we zeker nog een keer naar Danta Lodge!

• Gregory (9/5): Deuxième séjour dans ce lodge toujours aussi agréable. - Situation fantastique aux portes du Corcovado. La faune est visible partout. Les repas sont délicieux. La tour d'observation des oiseaux est très bien. Pour le coté pratique, un parapluie pourrait être mis à la disposition des clients dans la chambre. Peut être plus de rangements (armoire, table, chaises) pour déposer les affaires.
• Jon (10/5): A wonderful place to observe birds, monkeys etc, while enjoying comfy cabin and great cuisine. - THis lodge is very good. The cabins are well spaced so complete privacy. The living/sleeping area is large, with a huge separate bathroom behind a 3/4 wall facing the forest. The meals were top notch. The bird watching, particularly from the canopy tower was marvelous. My guide Juan took me on a morning bird watch, and a night walk in which I saw many tree frogs, baselislks, anoles, 2 caiman, an opposum with her pups and a large black tarantula and some small insects. All very enjoyable. I didn't like the extreme heat and humidity, but not the fault of Danta! There was a ceiling fan and floor fan that helped. Regarding the cabin it needs some hooks in the living area for hanging things to lose some moisture. And the toilet paper was much too thin to be useful without pulling off many feet at a time.

• Per (10/5): Naturnära boende i regnskogen med mycket bra mat. - Utmärkt lagad frukost med flera alternativ att välja på. Likaså utmärkt à la carte-meny för lunch och middag. Maten var mycket god. Boende i regnskogsmiljö. Rummen var öppna mot omgivningen med endast myggnät i öppningarna, vilket gjorde att man hörde alla djungelns ljud. Stora rum och stor altan med ogenerat läge. Möjlighet till utflykter mot avgift. Gratis lån av stövlar. Vi fick omedelbart en ny vattenkokare till rummet när den första gick sönder. Köksutrustningen i rummet var något spartansk.

• Jens-Eric (10/5): Es war toll! - Die Lodge ist ausgesprochen schön gelegen und man fühlt sich in den hochgestelten Häusern als würde man mitten im Dschungel leben, nur eben komfortabel. Die Geräuschkulisse aus Affen und Vögeln ist morgens wie abends einmalig und das Persomal ausgesprochen freundlich und sehr gut geschult. Das ebenfalls sehr gute Essen wird gemäß Bestellung serviert, so dass man nicht ständig zum Buffet laufen muss. Morgens erhält jeder einen Obstteller vorweg, Abends gibt es als 3-Gang Menü wechselnde Vorspeisen und Nachtische zu jedem Hauptgang, der a la Carte ausgewählt wird. Die Cocktails sind auch sehr gut. Wir haben zudem eine geführte Exkursion in den Corcovado Nationalpark direkt gebucht und wurden auf einem Trecker-Anhänger durch ein Flussbett mit ca. 1 h Fahrtzeit mitten in den Nationalpark gefahren, das war ein sehr uriges Erlebnis. nichts.
• Philou40 (10/5): - Nous avons passé 2 nuits ici, ce qui nous a permis d'aller sur la tour d'observation des oiseaux de très bonne heure le matin. Fabuleux pour observer Ara Scarlett, toucans et autres oiseaux. Nous avons aussi vu une multitude de singes écureuils. Le personnel est très aimable, le service parfait et les repas savoureux. Quel bel endroit préservé. L'araignée dans les toilettes !

• Tony (10/5): Un moment suspendu dans le temps - Magnifique lodge en pleine nature, personnel charmant et très efficace. Les chambres sont toutes isolées et indépendantes, bien équipées et présentent une décoration épurée. Les activités sont très bien organisées.

Chambres formidables où on entend la nature la nuit .La jeune femme à l’accueil qui fait également le service de restauration la nuit est juste formidablement pro!Les plats très bon et à juste prix ( connaissant le Costa Rica..) Une certaine clientèle Nord Américaine irrespectueuse absente par ici … Rien!

The jungle, the lodge and the staff were a pleasure to experience! - The breakfast was excellent, especially because we are vegans, so the meals were prepared to meet our diet The white faced monkeys were a bit intimidating when we walked above the lodge to the ridge behind it. It was our first day there and a male monkey was very aggressive. Apparently, that is normal for them, but it was rather frightening. I think that some information about their behavior would be helpful for the guests that they have, particularly since most of them have probably never seen or been with monkeys in the wild.

• Theresa (10/5): You must stay here! - It was wonderful staying in a place totally surrounded by nature. The sounds and sights were wonderful. We loved our bungalow. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious - amongst the best we had in Costa Rica. Excellent cocktails too! The restaurant area was so well designed and was remarkably cool - great architecture and fittings. Even little details like the table tops and chairs were carved beautifully. The night walk was the highlight of our trip. The guide was totally exceptional. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, pointing out such a variety of wildlife that we wouldn’t have seen in a million of years! Although we gave five days notice that we wanted to do the night walk, we did not realise that this needed to be confirmed by 4pm on the day. We asked again at 4.02 and were told we were too late. Fortunately, we could do this the following day but just thought I would mention this for future guests as this is something you really don’t want to miss!

• Rita (10/5): Wunderschön 😊 - Das Frühstück war sehr gut, an einigen Tagen gab es das Frühstück als Büffet. Das Abendessen war sehr gut, auch ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Bungalow war sehr schön und ruhig gelegen. Man sieht und hört nichts von den anderen Bungalows. Da keine Fenster vorhanden hat man am Morgen die Tiere gehört, wunderbar.👍Das außen Badezimmer hat uns trotz einiger tierischer Besucher sehr gut gefallen. Ein Kühlschrank ist im Zimmer. Das Personal war jederzeit sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Parken direkt an der Unterkunft. Kofferservice zu den auf dem Areal sehr weitläufig verteilten Bungalows war sehr gut. Ein wunderschönes Gelände.

• Sparenburg (10/5): Wonderful stay - I stayed at this wonderful lodge for six days, which allowed me to truly settle into the rhythm of the rainforest. Every morning I woke up to the sound of the howler monkeys. Before sunrise, I would go to the canopy tower. The view over the rainforest was magical, and I saw many birds there as well. It's a bird paradise. The tours are well organized, the food is delicious, and the staff is very helpful. I can wholeheartedly recommend this lodge. Nothing.

• caryl (10/5): We took a night tour and a tour to Corcovado, Juan was our guide and we recommend him highly, he’s really knowledgable - Fabulous location in a beautiful reserve and close to Corcovado park. The rooms and restaurant are fabulous. Absolutely nothing!
• Jeffrey (9/5): Fantastiche ervaaring - De lodge is in het algemeen erg mooi. De ligging en de omgeving zijn werkelijk spectaculair. Daarnaast is het personeel erg lief en behulpzaam, wat het verblijf extra prettig maakt. Het bed vonden wij wat minder comfortabel, waardoor we niet heel goed hebben geslapen. De lodge ligt vrij afgelegen; dit zorgt voor veel rust, maar betekent ook dat je afhankelijk bent van vervoer en service. Een taxi naar de supermarkt kost ongeveer $10 enkele reis ($20 retour) en naar het strand circa $24 enkele reis ($48 retour), dus goed voorbereid komen is aan te raden.

The remoteness was definitely a surplus. We could have not asked for more!!! Everything was perfect!!! there are no claims at all for us and what we wanted in our stay!!! We could have not asked for more and will certainly recommend it to our friends with similar mindset!!! Don't ask for a 5 star hotel!!!

• Franziska (8/5): - Sehr gutes Essen. Schöne Wandermöglichkeiten auf dem Grundstück. Es können verschiedene Touren gebucht werden.
• Matthias (10/5): Übernachten in der Natur - Wunderbar gelegene Lodge am Rande des Corcovado Nationalparks. Die einzelnen Bungalows liegen gut verteilt, so dass man sich gegenseitig nicht stört. Abends sollte man auf jeden Fall eine Taschenlampe dabei haben, da die Wege nicht beleuchtet werden - so hat man das Gefühl mitten im Regenwald zu sein. Die Bungalows haben keine Fenster, nur Netze, so dass man alle Geräusche des Waldes hört. Die Pfade durch die Anlage laden zum Erkunden ein und man kann viele Tiere entdecken, Pfeilgiftfrösche, Tukane, Affen, Papageien etc. Die Mitarbeiter sind wahnsinnig freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Wer Natur und Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig aufgehoben.
• katharina (10/5): Ein kunstvoll gestalteter Ort mit viel liebe zum Detail - Der Bungalow in dem wir untergebracht waren, war künstlerisch und mit viel liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Der Ess- und Aufenthaltsbereich ebenfalls, was für einen besonderen Charme sorgt. In der gesamten Einrichtung wird auf Nachhaltigkeit geachtet. Das Essen besteht aus einem 3 Gänge Menü, aus hochwertigen und regionalen Lebensmitteln. Das Personal ist freundlich, hilfsbereit und absolut professionell. Die Nähe zum Corcovado Nationalpark ist ebenfalls großartig und es können Touren im Hotel gebucht werden. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt geht an die gebuchte Tour. ( betrifft die corcovadotour) Wir wurden von einem sehr netten, kompetenten Guide begleitet der allerdings den Pfad im Jungle gefühlt gerannt ist. Das ist sehr schade, weil wir so kaum auf die Umgebung achten und uns phasenweise nur auf den Weg konzentrieren konnten. Zeitweilig war er auf dem Abstieg gar nicht mehr zu sehen, was auch schade ist, weil so Fragen über die Flora und Fauna offen bleiben. Also gern etwas langsamer, denn dann ist es (mit der besonderen Anfahrt) ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis.
• Ramona (10/5): - Tolle Unterkunft. Die Äffchen kamen uns täglich besuchen. Viele Wanderwege auf dem Grundstück, aber etwas anspruchsvoll. Essen war super. Nur ein kleiner Kühlschrank. Auf dem Bild ist ein grosser Kühlschrank und die Barhocker waren auch nicht mehr da. Sehr schmales Bett, obwohl Zimmer riesig.

We realized that there seems to be a cooperation with another tour agenzy where animals are caught and stored in bags to be presented for fototourism for folks that doesn‘t want to walk and discover the wildlife on their own -.-

• Alexander (10/5): Ein besonderer Platz für einen aufregenden Aufenthalt - Die Danta Corcovado Lodge liegt am Nordrand des Corcovado Nationalparks. Es werden Touren in den Park angeboten. Aber auf dem Gelände der Lodge gibt es ebenfalls viele Möglichkeiten, die Natur zu erleben. Insbesondere die Möglichkeiten zur Vogel- und Amphibienbeobachtung sind ausgezeichnet. Es lohnt sich, den Beobachtungsturm kurz nach Sonnenaufgang zu besuchen und das Erwachen des Regenwaldes zu erleben. Es gibt mehrere Trails, die allerdings nicht immer gut beschildert sind. Die Bungalows sind auf dem Gelände verteilt und ausreichend voneinander entfernt. Wir haben den unmittelbaren Regenwald um die Unterkunft sehr genossen. Die Lodge bietet verschiedene Unternehmungen an. Wir haben einen Nightwalk gemacht, der unbedingt empfehlenswert ist. Danach wartete das Abendessen auf uns und das war ein Traum. Ebenso wie Frühstück und Mittagessen. Die Küche war sehr gut und der Service perfekt und herzlich. Insgesamt war die Danta Corcovado Lodge für uns ein sehr schönes Erlebnis, das wir gern länger genossen hätten. Das wir nur eine Übernachtung hier waren. Ein mehrtägiger Aufenthalt lohnt sich unbedingt.

El lugar, el personal, la cabina, el bosque, la comida, el restaurante, TODO fue excepcional. El dueño, un costarricense local, ha creado un lugar maravillosa con detalles con mucho amor y dedicación. Y nos gustó que el dueño vive en la propiedad y que solo emplea personal de la zona. • Chloé (10/5): Une immersion dans la jungle de la Péninsule d’Osa - Tout ! L’emplacement, le lieu en lui même, le personnel et le dîner. Il n’y a rien à dire cet hôtel offre une réelle expérience au milieu de la jungle, cela nous plonge directement dans l’ambiance de la Péninsule d’Osa. Les chambres sont magiques et magnifiques, les salles de bains ouvertes sur l’extérieur sont incroyables. La salle de vue est magnifique tout en bois et ouverte sur la jungle. Rien tout était bien

• Suzanne (10/5): Amazing - Everything! Just what we wanted. Totally different. Great walks. Saw lots of wildlife. Tower was brilliant for bird watching. Food good. Trip to the forest with guide was great. Nothing.
• Jasmina (10/5): Wenn wir nach Costa Rica zurück kommen, dann in die Danta Corcovado Lodge. - Die Danta Lodge ist eine wunderschöne Unterkunft mitten im Regenwald. Die offenen Badezimmer geben einem ein richtiges Dschungelgefühl. Das Personal ist äusserst zuvorkommend und organisiert auch am Abend noch Ausflüge für den nächsten Morgen. Wir waren vier Nächte dort und dies war mit Abstand der beste Aufenthalt in ganz Costa Rica. Ein echtes Muss für Naturliebhaber. Nichts
• Vanessa (10/5): Super naturnahnes Erlebnis mit sehr freundlichem Personal - Der Lage um Dschungel, das super Personal und die außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre. Der Weg dahin, war mit dem Mietwagen etwas schwierig. Am Besten ist ein Wagen mit Allrad und stabilen Stoßdämpfer 😅
• Ruth (8/5): Nature lovers retreat! - Wonderful hotel if you are looking to get away from it all and immerse yourself in nature! Make sure you have a 4x4 or good car to get there as the roads are not great. No cell service but there was good wifi. Loved the hiking trails and it’s about a 30 minute drive to puerto Jiménez. Staff was wonderful, food was good and we overall loved our stay!
• Rahel (10/5): A true paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. I’d come back in a heartbeat. - If you're looking for adventure and have a deep love for nature, this is the perfect place. Tucked away in the lush rainforest, right next to Corcovado National Park, you'll find beautifully crafted cabins nestled in the heart of the jungle. There are many trails that you can explore on your own, which makes the experience feel wonderfully personal and free. My days Danta Corcovado Lodge were filled with slow, mindful walks through the dense forest. Always wet — either from rain or heat — and always wondering what marvel creatures might reveal itself next. I lost all sense of time... and loved it. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and I felt completely comfortable and welcome as a solo traveller. A truly special place for anyone who longs to reconnect with wild nature. Given how much it rains here, an umbrella would be a very practical addition to the room... :)

• Julie (10/5): Unique rainforest experience - Stayed in the two bedroom bungalow and loved the outdoor bathroom and the large covered verandah, swinging in the hammocks watching squirrel monkeys playing in the trees was magical. Took a night to adjust to night time noises especially during a very long and loud thunderstorm. The staff were amazing, friendly and professional. Food was excellent and great value. Marked trails were good, a little muddy after the rain, and the view from the Outlook was stunning. Felt really immersed in the rainforest but not too remote. Loved the ethos of the lodge and the main building is stunning. The perfect end to our time in Costa Rica. Could do with some cushions or soft furnishings as wooden furniture not necessarily that comfortable to relax on especially when hammocks got soaked in the rain. With no air-conditioning, a pool would be nice to cool off in.
• Robert (10/5): A very special place where you really do feel immersed in nature - Amazing lodge in the heart of a tropical rainforest. Lots of clearly marked trails and a very impressive tower for bird watching. The wooden floors and furniture in the cabins and the communal areas are beautiful. Delicious local food with very generous portions. We did a night tour and saw an incredible variety of wildlife. The room with its outdoor bathroom was stunning and it was an incredible experience waking up to the sound of howler monkey and toucans.
• Anjali (9/5): This was a great adventure. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! - The food was excellent. The night tour and hike in Corcovado park were exceptional with a very knowledgable tour guide. The grounds are beautiful. The squirrel monkeys above our hut were adorable. We enjoyed the walk up to the bird watching tower on the grounds and the amazing views from there. We wished for air conditioning. I also wished that the bathroom had been screened off.

• Retired (9/5): Excellent non air conditioned hotel. Good food very friendly staff. Local family run business - Very friendly staff and good food. Just remember the hotel is in the middle of tropical rain forest with temperatures in the 30Cs and 100% humidity- fans in room but no air conditioning.
• Mary (10/5): It was our dream vacation and so glad we found this hidden gem! - Everything was above our expectations. The food was very good and all the staff were exceptional. We did a guided tour and it was great. The hiking trails allow you to see so much wildlife and it’s away from the city which is great. It’s a hidden gem and we will definitely be returning. The pics don’t do it justice it is very beautiful and the rooms are gorgeous. Very clean and you can tell they really focus on being ecological and caring about the environment. We stayed at other hotels during our trip but this one topped them all and had the best food! They have vegetarian options on the menu as well which were great.
• Martin (10/5): - Die Lage mitten im Urwald sehr schön und aufregend. Die Bettlaken nicht komfortabel. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend und das Essen ausgezeichnet!!!
• Walter (10/5): Besser geht Nicht - einfach der Hammer😀vom Service bis Küche und Sauberkeit. Auch die Bungalows wunderschön eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht. Der Park mit mehreren Trails ist super angelegt, sogar mit einem Beobachtungsturm.
• Alan (8/5): A Rumble In The Jungle - Perfect location for those wanting to experience living in the Osa Peninsula forest. First class restaurant offering 3 course dinners for $24 and super efficient, well trained staff. The only negative point is that the standard double room (a cave-like cement construction) does not have AC so is very hot and humid, despite the fans, and the bed is incredibly creaky so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Otherwise, we enjoyed the experience, particularly the use of the bird observation tower, only 10 minutes walk from the hotel location. And yes, we did see 2 sloths while we were there. No AC and creaky bed.
• Anita (10/5): The most amazing place to stay in Costa Rica - To say this place is special is an understatement, it is a phenomenal experience to stay here and hard to put into words why. The lodges are set in the middle of the forest with no lodge in sight of another. Literally feet from our veranda we had a family of monkeys swinging in the trees. There are dozens of species of birds just around you. It has been created so that the natural environment hasn’t been disturbed in anyway. The 3 course dinner served was probably the best we have had in our 4 weeks in CR and all for $24. Our tour guide Juan was brilliant, so knowledgeable and interesting. It was the best night tour we have done, way better than Monteverde. The staff are so professional and attentive too. Absolutely nothing. Our biggest regret is that we could only stay 1 night, ideally stay 3 or 4 nights,
• Anne (10/5): - Beautiful wildlife eco tourism facility. Many trails and opportunities right there to view the OSA Peninsula biodiversity. Meals were fabulous. We stayed in their one concrete “hobbit house” like facility which was Charming but lacked good sir circulation to cool down for sleeping despite 2 fans.

• Eugen (10/5): Exceptional - Uniqueness of this place - bungalows are designed and furnished with style, it has lots of space and there is jungle all around. It was nice observing the nature and wildlife from the terrace
• Emolema (10/5): Exceptional - The food! Best dinner we had during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. The lodges are spread out and you do not see the lodges of the other guests. This gives a great feeling of privacy. Nothing
