Guest Reviews
- Samuel (10/5): - We were originally going to stay in Traverse City but they had no availability in pet friendly hotels, we had searched for hotels around Petoskey and surrounding areas but no luck! We decided to try and book in Mackinaw City and luckily we were able to get 2 rooms and pet friendly. The gentleman behind the counter was managing the people the phone calls asking for room availability some people were upset but even he didn't expect the busyness but he didn't lose composure and remained polite!
The rooms looked like they were being remodeled clean sheets, towels. Only problem was no television, luckily I was able to watch my shows on my phone! Also if you are scared ofspiders dont look up the door frame! Id stay again!
- DAVID (4/5): - Cobwebs at our door
- Ashley (10/5): - Us and our 2 kids stayed here for one night. We loved being right on the water, and the firepits on the water were a quiet and relaxing spot to unwind. Would stay again.
- Courtney (10/5): - The room was clean the view was amazing and the staff was very friendly
- Lisa (10/5): - Pet friendly motel right on the water. View of Mackinac bridge and Mackinaw Island from the room. Very convenient for walking dog.
- Carl (6/5): Nice view - The updated room was nice, but there should be a door at the entrance where the sink is. The pool was ice cold and hot tub floor was flaking off. Also, the jets in the hot tub were very weak and there were no bubbles at all. There aren't enough parking spaces and it is very hard to get out as the parking is angled with no room to back out. The view was nice, but we spent too much on this hotel.
- lorri (8/5): - Cute little place to stay, the back lake view was beautiful at evening and morning
- Mark (4/5): - The first room had mold and spider webs everywhere. The transferred room had mildew on the shower curtain. The pool was green and the hot tub felt like Lake Michigan in September. Do not recommend. The housekeeper was very friendly.
- Cynthia (10/5): - I was happy being on the lake and enjoying a weekend on bonfires on the beach. Thank you for making my trip enjoyable!
- Rudy (6/5): - Cute little motel on the water with some updates. Rooms are smaller than they look online. Outdoor trash piled up next to our room was not removed for 2.5 days. Many spider webs and bugs not cleaned by outdoor light. TV did not work. Tub had black marks and not clean. Bed was comfortable. Cute cabin wood inside and nice view. Someone was moving tons of furniture above us at 11pm. A/C & heat did not work well and only on one temperature.
- Norene (6/5): - The good is location and sitting on the covered porch with the sounds of the waves and the view of the bridge. Inside: under renovation? Reserved 2 weeks in advanced does not guarantee you will get the room you choose. They tried to put us on level 2 but my spouse could not do stairs. They said they would not charge me extra for the room they gave us. Bathroom door didn't close, stained bedspread. See photos of our room. Inside/Outside pool looked like it was closed due to pylons at the entrance and no lighting. Free parking, hard to maneuver around the rocks. Key card inoperable on day 2. They have a good location, hope they are able to fix the detailed stuff and politely accommodate reservations.
- Michele (6/5): - The toilet holder was broke. The drain to the tub was not secured. Cob webs on ceiling. The screen to back door was a mess. And windows dirty. The only good thing about our stay was the guy was able to put me on the ground level as I have a bad knee.
- Amberley (6/5): - This hotel was good for sleeping but don’t expect much else. They were draining the pool when we visited and upon check-in they didn’t inform us of this but we overheard another guest asking about waterpark passes and we then found out they were offering complimentary passes to a nearby hotel, but this was not offered to us, we had to ask. We ended up using the other hotel’s beach more than this one because it was cleaner. The balconies were very nice and the view was wonderful! Rooms were clean and beds were nice. If you call Shepler’s ferry their free shuttle will actually pick you up at the motel which was very nice. Also very convenient location to most things downtown mackinaw. If you’re just using the motel for sleeping and not much else then it’ll get the job done.
- Jeanine (6/5): - Looked nothing like the photos. For the price it's an okay place to sleep for one night, but that's very subjective. As long as you expect no frills & questionable cleanliness. It looked and smelled like I was staying at a divorced deadbeat dad's apartment that hasn't seen a vacuum in 5 years. I think this should have been a $40 motel for what it actually looks like. I think they get away with higher because it's close to the Mackinac Island ferry. But if you're looking for the cheapest possible, I think the bed was clean so I was happy about that.
- Lori (2/5): - Tried to walk to the lakefront and there was dog feces all around the grounds. The air conditioner kept fluctuating because they’re using an extension cord block and even THAT switch was under the cord! The first thing I saw was a spider under the sheets. There was a bottle (empty)of shampoo on the shower floor. I used water shoes in the shower because that had mold and who knows what on the floor. These people haven’t invested a dime on these units since the 70’s.
- James (2/5): - Tiny, smelly. One room has moldy baseboards around the shower. Another had toilet that hadn't been cleaned in some time, with yellow deposits of some sort below the water line.
We'll never go there again.
- Jaime (8/5): Decent for the price - Beautiful location, great view of the bridge, very good beach. Each of the ground floor rooms had their own fire pit, right on the beach! The rooms were pretty clean, toilet/shower room very small. Great hot water, good water pressure. My family had 3 rooms, all the screen doors needed replaced, 2 of the glass doors didn’t lock. The mattresses were a crap shoot for comfort. I would go back again.
- Peg (6/5): - The lakeview was nice but wasn't as cozy as previous reviews indicated. No place to hand anything and tub had rusty water stains.
- David (4/5): - The place was very dirty, I actually wanted to leave after seeing it but they make you sign at the desk if you cancel you will still have to pay.
The view to see the Mackinaw Bridge was the only saving grace. The shower had rust stains & still had the used bar soap from a previous customer. The shower curtain had mold & rust on it. The bedding was awful , the blanket had spots on it. All & all it was terrible and I would advise against staying there.
- Janet (4/5): - Check in was great and the views were, also. Our room was very disappointing. The screen door to the balcony was badly ripped and the handle on the slider was broken. The tub needed replaced and the bathroom window was broken and taped over. The beds felt clean and were very comfortable.
- Marlem (10/5): Love Sunrise Beach Motel! - My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Sunrise. Loved our view from the balcony it was just beautiful to have the window open at night and morning. Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Staff was nice as well. I will consider Sunrise Beach Motel in the future and will highly recommended to family and friends if they ever visit Mackinac Island.
- Rita (4/5): Disappointed in Mackinac City - Disappointed in the room we had. They had new wall covering and floor but the room was in poor repair. The bathroom window was broken and covered with duct tape to keep the glass in place. The patio was dirty and couldn’t be used due trash on floor. The sliding door handle was broken and the screen was torn. Mold in the AC unit. The outside was dark, with two lights in the parking lot being out and the solar lights on the wooden stairs were very dim causing me to miss a step and fall.
- Joseph (2/5): - Shower head was new, water wouldn't come out, doorwall wouldn't open, coffe maker did not work.
- DONNA (4/5): - This property has a beautiful view but the room was dirty. Sliding door to balcony didn’t lock. Balcony screen was ripped. Window in bathroom was broken and taped together. Water in tub was gray. We moved the little table by the beds to plug in charger and was very dirty. Sheets had sand in them. We stayed one night, quick in and out.
- Amit (2/5): - There were bugs, flies, mosquitoes all over the room, including spider webs. The room looked like it was never cleaned. The water coming out of tap was black in color and when we asked front desk, they said its normal as its well water in city (this was a lie as we found out later that there is city water in all hotels). Requested for cancellation which was denied by both hotel and Expedia. Expedia does not help in this matter , which is sad and bad customer service to say the least.
- Kelley (8/5): - I LOVED the ease of the shuttle to the docks. The staff was super friendly and nice. The little beach was so cute and perfect for a quiet little stay.. it was windy so we didn’t do a campfire but we listened to the waves all night. It was perfect .. Except for when our neighbors decided to feed the seagulls at 7am and it sounded like a seagull attack. Haha ! But still is a cute little spot. Needs some updating and plumbing was a little weird.
But would definitely stay again.
- Dianne (6/5): - The room we requested 2 Queen beds on the water front was not available, instead we were given a small house which was under rehab repair, not completed, many things not completed too many to go into details. Had to ask for everything. TV's not plugged in or working-repair man came out about 10:30 pm to fix them. No trash pick up after first night.
- Amy (6/5): - It was a cheep motel that was super overpriced. Great location and view of the bridge. Room not so good. Motel itself not so good.
Delay in check-in by 1 hour due to being understaffed and toom not being clean.
I liked that it was dog friendly, had firepits and was in the ideal location for our trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice view - Like the upgraded room but looks like they weren't done. Excellent room to view the fireworks as well.
- Blair (4/5): - So gross no
- Jack (10/5): - Larger vehicle parking was nice will stay again in the future nice room good price
- peter (8/5): - Room was clean, fair price, great location. Loved having a room with balcony overlooking the lake, it was worth the extra money for the view
I would definitely stay here again
Only negatives were: ice machine was not working, pool did not appear swimmable to me
- Michael (8/5): Not Worth the Price - Not worth the price. Several little things could have been done to improve the place such as replacing the old mismatched plastic balcony chairs, sweeping the balcony, cleaning the glass doors. There was no hair dryer, iron, instructions for the WiFi and the unusual shower set up. We've stayed at many better rooms for half the price. The view was very nice and the pictures are just nice enough to make it appear better than it is.
- Erinn (6/5): - The view from the rooms is great. Firepit and beach very nice! The room has been updated nicely (cottage like)… except the bathroom in room! I can deal with the bathroom being old but the cleaners need to clean it better. I also suggest a broom in each room for the sand that is brought in from the beach. The beds have had their day… clean but they need replaced. People on upper level can be heard through the floor all night if they move alot. The manager is awesome though!!! Super friendly!!!! I would go back all in all.
- Raymond (4/5): - Long story short, the first person I dealt with was rude and stuck us in a smelly room not much bigger than the closet in our bedroom. The second person was very polite and moved us into a great room in another building. On checkout I was forced to deal with the rude attitude when I asked for a receipt and was given a piece of paper that indicated that I had a balance. My trip was for business. How would it look if I handed the company a receipt saying I didn’t pay? This guy should never have access to the public. I will not be visiting any of the properties owned by this company because of his actions and attitude.
- Jodi (6/5): - Cob webs as we walked through the door! The T.V was broken. The mini frig sat on the dresser and the lamp on top of that! Pretty crappy set up!
- John (6/5): - The property was fine, but the doors were definitely not secure which could have posed an issue, we loved the views and the access to the lake, the pool was out of commission our entire stay which is a big deal for the kids.
- Rebecca (6/5): - The front desk clerk did give us a great recommendation for dinner
- Lee (4/5): - The floor was very sticky and filthy. There was trash on the floor under the table... not good for dogs or children. The ice machine was broken and according to the people next door who had been there all week it was broken when they got there. The pool had been drained so... there was no pool.
On the positive side it was right on the water and the first floor rooms had great porches!
- Barbra (8/5): - The pool was closed. The parking is tricky. The ice machine did not work. Our balcony door was difficult to open. The check-in guy was nice, the bed was comfortable and the view was pretty.
- Tamara (10/5): - Stay was not terrible but has bigger potential. Pool needs serious work. Still enjoyed ourselves. Views made it all worth it!
- Diane (2/5): - Indoor outdoor pool was empty. Stated lightening hit it last week but was so dirty you could tell it hadn't had water in it for a long time. Room was okay but the floor was full of sand. Water in sink and shower was rusty and had a bad smell. Bathroom ceiling peeling and tub surround falling off. Staff was unfriendly and uncaring with complaint about pool. Would not recommend. Just spend a few more dollars and get better accommodations.
- Kathleen (6/5): - Upgraded to a room with a view. Room was nice but balcony was dirty. Had to wipe down chairs to sit on
- Michael (2/5): Needs repair - We stayed in the little single ground level motel part. So the two level hotel rooms on the beach might be nicer. In our room, the internet didn’t work. The bed sheets were clean and was comfortable. However, the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was in need of repairs and had mildew in the shower and a very loose toilet seat.
- Olga (10/5): - Great view. Love the fire pit.
- Michelle (10/5): - The property was a little run down. The shower leaked hot water when on and would burn if not careful. The private beach was amazing and made everything worth it. Our room did not have a microwave, but upon rwquest we were brought on. Staff was very nice.
- Joshua (6/5): - Not as clean as it should have been. Room nothing like the pictures on Expedia so it was a bit of a let down
- Juli (10/5): - Nice balcony, fire pits on the beach, the area around the beach needs raked.
- Renee (2/5): - I was VERY disappointed in this property. The ceiling of our bathroom was literally peeling off with big chunks missing, the room wasn’t properly cleaned prior to our check in (dirty floors throughout, unclean glass, and icky bathroom), our bathtub wouldn’t drain correctly, there were literal webs with bugs inside of the room, they literally left us with one tiny bottle of shampoo in the bathroom (we had three travelers…) and no soap of any sort for the sink, and finally they didn’t give us additional towels (even when asked multiple times and promised they would be brought up). The only good thing was the view of the bridge. Save your time and money and book somewhere else. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this time I thought it might save another family from the same fate. This place also owns a couple other properties right next to this one so beware of that also.
- Andrew (4/5): - We felt the location was decent, the rooms were just dirty with what looked like to be mold in the bathroom and stray hairs on the floor. The lock was also falling off the door so we didn’t feel safe with that. The pictures online were very deceiving. Service was good and check in went smooth. We ended checking out of that hotel the same night and switched to another hotel we felt safer in
- Timothy (8/5): - Our room had a nice view of the bridge..Enjoyed it!!
- Bobby Jo (10/5): - This was our first visit to Michigan! While we only stayed here one night it was nice. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fire pits outside! My son enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed our view of the beautiful sunrise the next morning! It is right off the lake which was a gorgeous setting. Close to Mackinac, but just outside the hustle and bustle. Easy to get to and parking was ample. No elevator, so be prepared to take carry your items to the 2nd floor. The staff was great and very accommodating! Our room was one of the renovated ones on the 2nd floor and we loved it. They did a really great job on it. The mayflies were awful though if you left the porch light on next to your door ... so we just kept ours off (just slightly unscrewed the light bulb). Stayed here June 13-14.
- Lisa (2/5): - Everything was grungy, staff was very unfriendly, water at beach area was like sludge, pool was green with tons of algae and we had flying insects and silverfish in our room
- leslie (8/5): - the bathroom could have been cleaner
- Kayla (6/5): - I’m so confused. When checking in, I found out they manage 4 properties from the sunrise beach desk. I had reservations for Sunrise Beach. When I got there, they said they didn’t have my reservation but they were going to put me in a nicer motel next door for no up charge. That sounded great. When I got there, it looked exactly like the pictures I reserved. What does Sunrise Beach look like?!?!
Also, the sign out front had a price waayyyy lower than I paid. AND, Bridgeview and Sunrise prices out front were the same. If it’s a nicer motel, it should be higher right?
I can only speak for Bridgeview Motel. It was newly remodeled and looked fairly clean, but still made me feel dirty. Not sure how to explain why. Beds were ok. Sheets felt super cheap. Beach extends back behind Sunrise and Bridgeview. It was weedy and not well-maintained.
Not knocking the motel too much. It looked like almost every hotel in the area. Overall, it was an OK experience, but unless you pay outrageous prices to stay on the island, I’d expect your hotel to be about the same experience as mine.
- Tammy (4/5): - The first room I was given upon check-in at 5 PM had not been cleaned. The second room I was given had allegedly been cleaned, but upon closer inspection, it was really dirty. I took my shoes off and walked around for about five minutes barefoot on the tile floor and my feet were filthy. There were cobwebs and insects around the light fixtures. The sliding glass door could not be locked however they provided a stick to keep the door from opening. There was a gap around the main door a quarter of an inch wide and you could hear absolutely everything outside. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. Stains in the bathtub. The general condition of the property and the rooms overall was just very poor. All this for $160 a night.
There was also no one available for checkout at 7:30 AM to get a copy of your receipt. Just a key drop.
- Nicole (4/5): - The room was clean minus all the spiders and bugs in every single corner. As well as every lampshade, the air conditioning unit was in the bathroom which was odd. The plaster and drywall was falling apart in areas of the room, just had a weird old smell to it. Definitely thought I was getting a better room than what the reviews all said. Definitely needs some updating, just glad the bed was clean for a night stay.
- Kevin (2/5): - We booked through you(Expedia) and received two confirmation emails only to show up to the place and they told us that we did not have reservations. We are now staying at the quality Inn and paying more per night for a not so nice place WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOU and will never use your service again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Motel full of pros and cons - This motel was overall average to below average, but it has several pros and cons to consider.
Pros: Literally right on the water, lots of amenities, and there are discounts for the Mackinac Island ferries and several restaurants in the area. The motel has a community feel to it. The staff member who checked us in was wonderful and very helpful.
Cons: The place just isn't clean. There was constantly sand on the floor (not from us - it was there when we checked in), and bugs in the room. No bedbugs or anything like that - but flying bugs on the ceiling and in the bathroom. The sheets are stained red which gives the impression of bedbugs, but staff said it's rust from the washing machine (!). The pool and hot tub area are disgusting - the plaster is discolored, the hot tub jets didn't work, and the pool temperature was freezing, making it unusable. The staff member who took over from the one who checked us in demonstrated poor customer service throughout our day. We had to ask for towels and a hair dryer (which should've been in the room in the first place) and it took forever to get both. She was overall dismissive of our requests.
Overall, this is not the worst motel you could stay in. It was expensive for what we got, but outside summer it's probably a bargain. If you are a budget conscious traveler wanting area discounts, this may be the place for you. You'll need to lower your standards for cleanliness, though.
- Robert (2/5): - Although our check in was excellent with Zachary, I STRONGLY warn you to NOT stay here. Dog poo everywhere outside, the room we had was questionable. Old; outdated ; nasty; had ants; tiny; smelled; half the outlets didn’t work. Nothing like the picture online. Only plus was coupons we received and cheap enough price (but price on their sign was cheaper than what we paid online).
- Rylee (10/5): - Very nice people upon arrival! The room was just as expected. Very nice quick stay
- Kelli (8/5): - The room itself was mediocre. Shower/tub dirty. Outside the door leading to the beach couldnt even walk out there without stepping in goose poop. When we asked the office for a rake that we planned on cleaning up the goose poop ourselves we were told there was no rake there and the janitor would get it in the morning...never showed up so we went and bought our own rake.
- Hannah K (10/5): - Room was very clean, freshly redone and adorable. Beds were comfy and the view was great. Within 5 minutes of all major destinations in Mackinaw. Staff was friendly and quick. Would absolutely stay again!
- Matthew (2/5): - Only one outlet worked in the entire room, and it wasn’t the one next to the TV. Woke up next to several deal bugs in the bed.
- Dianna (8/5): - We loved the walk out lake view and the firepit. We had marshmallows and watched the Friday fireworks.
- Ute (8/5): - Liked the beach access right of our room and view to the bridge. Beautiful sunrise.
The room was small, pretty clean, bathroom too.
Mattress was very comfortable.
Screen door and sliding door need to be replaced.
- Romy Domingo (8/5): - Just a heads-up about the room pics, okay? There are two kinds, and the cheap one's kinda rough. The other one's alright, though.
- Rebeccah (6/5): - Close to water. Property needed some work but was clean.
- erich (4/5): - Very old room. Bathroom was falling apart with a lot of water damage. Main room had one electrical outlet running all extras in the room. TV, mini Frig, Spare heater, Lamp. One electrical outlet didn’t work.
- Joseph (6/5): - Loved the view but did not like how dusty the room was. They need to do better on cleaning the rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute remodled rooms with water view - The room we stayed in was recently remodled. Very cute. Beds were really nice. Considerably comfortable for a hotel bed. Sheets were crisp and clean. The manager check on us every time he saw us to see how everything was going. The girls at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Will definetly stay again.
- barb (8/5): - Need to work hard at cleaning up goose poop around property, pool needs to be cleaned .
- Corie (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - The room was dirty.
Very dirty and any needed LOTS of maintenance.
There were smashed bug remains all over the room.
Legs on the bed were broken so the bed is on an incline.
All of the issues should’ve been noticed by any staff that went into the room.
The outlet was so overloaded it was buzzing and I had to unplug everything just to get the fridge to work.
The fridge was full of black mold and the microwave was completely rusted out and unsafe to use.
The toilet had urine all over it and around it.
The sink had been used prior to my stay and was definitely not cleaned, the dried up toothpaste (?) residue was all over the faucet and in the sink.
The extra roll of toilet paper had mold all over the side indicating it had gotten wet at some point and just left there.
There were metal flakes all around the faucet that wouldn’t have been there if it had been cleaned.
The shower head isn’t tall enough for anyone over 5’4.. the drain cover isn’t attached and the drain is actually just a hole in the bottom of the shower.
I ended up leaving a couple days early which was a loss of my money in multiple ways.. definitely don’t recommend, it’s not worth the money you’re “saving”..
the “discount” tickets the hotel offers aren’t discounted at all.. it’s cheaper to buy them on location anywhere you want to go.
Staff offered a coupon for a free night in the area which is silly as it would cost more to get there than the “free” night.
DON’T BE TEMPTED TO SAVE MONEY STAYING HERE!
- Tom (2/5): - Couls use a upgraded. Shower was gross carpet is bad n torn up. Had moss on the building outside on the deck. Weeds growing on the deck as well
Had to many bugs inside when we got there n spiders in the bathroom. The room could n should of been clean n spary out.
- Kimberly (10/5): - The room was adorable and had everything we needed. The lake view and lake access was wonderful! The staff were friendly and helpful. It was our favorite place we stayed on our trip!
- Holly (8/5): - Room was clean and newly remodeled. However, the sliding glass door handle was broken and the heavy drapes had holes in them you could see when they were closed at night. Everyone was friendly, but no amenities. No hair dryer, no iron etc…
- Brock (2/5): - Sewage back up in first room and then the second room they moved us too stunk like sewage bad all night will never stay again
- Debra (10/5): - Upon checking in the suggestion was made to upgrade which I chose to do. I am so happy I did. Got a freshly renovated room overlooking the water. The bed was so comfortable and the view of the bridge was phenomenal. If I ever went back to Mackinaw City. I would definitely stay here again.
- Minnie (2/5): - Dirty floors, shower, toilet. Dusty. Bent screen door off and leaning against outside wall. Front door did not close all of the way, leaving about an inch gap allowing light, cold air and mosquitoes in. Filled the gaps with hand towels and washcloths. Coffee, but no pot.
- Thompson Coach (8/5): - Nothing close by and no breakfast
- Kimberly (4/5): - We arrived and checked in to be notified we’d gotten an upgrade which was very pleasant, but added an extra hour to be able to check into our room from it getting cleaned as we arrived. There were minor safety concerns around the property such as electrical equipment just hanging on the wall… pool area towels were absolutely covered in bugs, even for what was protected by just a towel for partial coverage. We loved that fire pits were an option right outside the room!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs work - The first room we were given had no water to the toilet. We were moved to another which had a broken screen door so we could not open it. The main door didn't close tightly so the room filled up with insects (fortunately not mosquitos) Broken siding was hanging in a tree outside our room. The front desk staff was very pleasant and tried to help, but this facility is undergoing remodeling and has a ways to go.
- Russell (6/5): - Construction work on road make it hard to get in and out.
- Kevin (8/5): - Everything fine, unless the internet.
- Ashley (2/5): - We stayed here last time in the lake side rooms. It was dated but fine. Good for the value. We returned but took a court side room. They were awful. Dead spiders on the wall, lights didn't work in the room, no heat, poor plumbing. It's 30 years past an update.
- Dawn (8/5): Beautiful view - View was amazing. We had a waterfront room and the view was beautiful. Our first room had a toilet that was not working and the staff was able to quickly move us to another room.
- Susan (2/5): - I brought my dog. No quibbles about paying $33.33 extra for my dog. However, the water ran out grey, so I used bottled water to brush my teeth. The shower was scary scuzzy and I chose not to shower. AND the property was covered in cigarette butts and empty beer bottles. It didn't feel safe walking with my dog. I had to sign and initial a form that I would clean up after my dog, etc. I want to know what fee they charged the people who didn't pick up after themselves! Anyway, the room smelled odd and the carpet was stained. I suppose the bed was comfotable enough. I packed up and left before 6am.
- Tyler (10/5): - Great stay especially for the price. Location is perfect for exploring the area and the view of the bridge and sunrise are great
- James (10/5): Nice place - Was very nice rooms have been updated everything was great
- Vicki (4/5): - Not good was put up at Bridge View said it was an up grade, desk clerk was arguing that my booking was court yard put me facing the back of the lobby and shed, large cobwebs in room no hotel info available for ice or snack location orTV service, used Ironingboard for a luggage rack, next day got message after reading my feed back front desk leaves text that she was willing to give me another up grade room back a SunriseBridge View was offering rooms for $69.00 a night I paid $89.00 for a couple of rooms I didn’t get yet was told I got an up grade, ONLY IN THE PRICE I PAID, so I can’t offer a review on stay a Sunriise as I didn’t get an honorary reservation!!!!
- Jason (4/5): - It was only $63 but I wouldn’t stay there again. The room was dirty. The bathroom was moldy and the pool was green. It worked for the night but I’ll definitely try somewhere else next time
- Raul (10/5): - Convenient and the price was right
- James (6/5): - TV did not work and phone never worked. Limited soap and toilet paper. Room was clean and nice.
- Richard (4/5): Not going back - Junk room for $600. Ripoff because of Labor Day weekend. Only worth $65 a night
- Ann (10/5): - The sheets had stains on them
Had to sleep on top of bed cover.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Super tiny
No space for bags or jackets
Horrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible..... - Booked one of the Deluxe King rooms with a lake view that was fully remodeled (please see reference photo), or so I thought. Upon check in and entering our room, it was obvious it wasn’t at all how the photos would have you believe (I have attached the photos as well). I immediately called Hotels.com and was told we needed to speak to the hotel employee to see if they would cancel for us as there was nothing else that could be done. I was also informed that the photos uploaded so us customers can see what they look like, are not confirmed in any way so they can upload anything they prefer. Of course they wouldn’t cancel for us, but we were offered the option of paying more money for a room that looked the photos and what was booked in the first place!!
Complete scam artists in our opinion and I advise everyone to take that into consideration when booking with them.
- Heidi (2/5): - This property deserves a zero rating! The room doesn’t look anything like the pictures that were shown. The first room we were brought to didn’t even have a light switch on the wall that worked paint was literally peeling off the wall in 4 x 6 chunks and the bathroom looked like it was 30 years old and had never been scrubbed. I immediately turned around and told the receptionist that the room would not work for the evening and we needed something else. She brought us to a family owned property just two blocks away and this room was even more disturbing. There were blood spots on the sheets, big huge stain on the wall, looked like something was thrown against it, chunks of laminate out of the desk, the bathroom floor was nearly completely worn through the linoleum, and the shower had black mold where the grout should be on the ground.
There is no way that this hotel can possibly pass any kind of inspection. We decided to drive back home instead of staying at this filthy nasty place. We had reservations on September 1 which was right before the Mackinaw bridge run and we’re charged $298, we were told it was completely non-refundable! When I was told, I wanted the card of a manager, she kind of laughed and said I am the manager, and we don’t have any Business cards.
I simply can’t tell you enough, DO NOT stay at this place!
- Diane (10/5): - Loved being by the water right out of room balcony. Friendly staff.
