Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - hard to parking... no towel...
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cheap but depressing - The staff were pleasant and professional, but everything else about this hotel was depressing. The rooms were small, the corridors amplified every noise, the beds were simply terrible. It would not take much to provide better mattresses but instead they retain the thinnest and cheapest. Inside it is gloomy and dismal. The cistern in the toilet kept dispensing water into the bowl noisily so we had to turn it off at the tap. There was a lot of noise from adjacent land too - neighbours were mowing lawn and sawing branches all afternoon long.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - overall ok
- SITI (8/5): - Very attentive and friendly staff. Towel and mugs provided upon request
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good staff only,,
- Alam (2/5): - So bad service and poor room.
No more anything. Not freindly
- mohd adnan (6/5): VERY STRESS AND SAD TRIP FOR VACATION - GOOD FOR SOLO TRIP BUT NOT FOR FAMILY TRIP.ROOM TOO SMALL AND BATHROOM HAS TO SHARED WITH OTHERS.THE PERSON WHO REGISTERED US IN NOT VERY FRIENDLY.HE SAID HOTEL RULE DOES NOT ALLOW US TO C/IN AFTER 12.00 AM.WE EXPERIENCE 6 HOURS TRAFFIC JAMMED GOING UP TO C.HIGHLAND FROM 6.00PM TO 12.00MN.THERE IS NO CONSIDERATION AT ALL.FROM THEM BUT WE MANAGED TO REACH DESTINATION AT 11.50PM.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok - For us, this place is ok if just for sleep and bath. Just remember bring your own iron.. There no glass and hot water for drink in room. But they provide towel. Overall.. Just nice for sleep and bath.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good condition and near to interest places. I will recommend this to others.
- Rama (6/5): More on rules less on service - Example is they have carrom board but no coins to play , have television equipped with no remote, piano with power supply off
- Leha (6/5): - Nice comfortable nice place worthy..stay one night
- Crisy (6/5): Cheap but not cheerful - Crisp bed linens, mostly clean but some with small stains still visible, horrible old bobbly blanket. Good communal indoor space with sofas, TV and books, albeit out of the 00's.
Fairly clean throughout but a few areas that need improvement walls in rooms very dirty and could do with a paint refresh/scrub, shutter style glass windows very dusty and switches and sockets grubby. Lovely manicured garden with plenty of seating although needs some recliner chairs for better relaxation potential.
Very small rooms that feel like a prison cell. Old but basic furniture provided in rooms. Nice and cheap breakfast options. Helpful and easy owner. No a/c or fan but don't worry definitely not needed as much cool climate.
- Pauline (4/5): Basic hotel that has gotten old with age - Conveniently located, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Furniture in room and common area is old, torn and dusty. Towel rack is rusty and tap leaks causing the floor to be constantly wet. General condition of this place is old. Time for revamp. Only upside is for those with walking difficulty, there's a small lift to help them instead of climbing stairs. Depending on person on duty, you can have a great or poor customer service experience. We will not be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Near to shop - The hotel located close to the restaurant and shops and also banks.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Stayed in a Cameron Highland a night at KRS Pines.I was disappointed with their services. I came late to check in and the receptionist does not entertains me well and no smiles present at all when checking in. Secondly, when I go to the room, my room does not publish "Kiblat". Thirdly, the bed in the room was bad and old.
- Ruth (2/5): Cheap but you can get better value for money - The rooms are more like office cubicals than actual rooms, my window was actually an internal window which opened straight into another room which meant for any privacy I had to keep the curtains drawn. My sheets were not fresh, I found both long dark and blonde hairs in my bed (I’m a red head so they definitely were not mine). The staff were never around, didn’t see anyone again after I checked in. I backpack a lot and usually stay in hostels so I’m not afraid to rough it but this was more expensive than a hostel and yet the worst place I have stayed in Malaysia. Yes it was cheap and you get what you pay for but in this case you can defiantly get better value staying elsewhere. I would not recommend staying at KRS pines at al!
- Charley (4/5): Bad experience, extremely uncomfortable - The room feels like a psychiatric facility and the walls are plastic so that you can here children shouting and other guests snoring all night. The mattresses are rock hard and thin and pillows were all very hard - however the pillows were changed upon request. The breakfast is ok if you can manage to find any member of staff to order from as they were often impossible to find. To be fair, the lady who works there is nice and helpful but never around, whilst the guy is lazy and unhelpful. We are budget travellers but this was far worse than any hostel we have stayed it. If you can afford anything else in Cameron Highlands then please do not stay here
- AZIZI (2/5): - Not suitable for vacation...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place near to town - Me and my family feel comfortable staying in this hotel
- Iman Mitsubishi (6/5): - Not so bad value for money. I didn't know that the bathroom is outside from the room. Ok for just a rest after spending time around cameron.
- jaei (4/5): terrible - terrible facilities. no tv. no water heater. no tea and coffee.
- Nasuha (8/5): NICE GUEST HOUSE - Nice and superb guest house. I give 4.5 out of 5 stars. Very suitable for backpackers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay place at average place - Don't get a room on the top floor at the end of the hot water line...
Didn't have hot water the first night. They fixed it and we got hot water for a couple of minutes. In the rest of Malaysia that'd be fine, but the water is cold in the highlands...
The next morning there wasn't any hot water because other people were showering and we apparently had a room at the end of the line, so there wan't any water left for us.
There is no top sheet on the bed, only the blanket, and I doubt they wash that between every guest.
We moved to a different hotel that included tea/coffee for a lower price.
If you are traveling during off-season, there will be plenty of places to walk up to at the last minute.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not like hotel - Parking space not enough. Lift to dangerous. Wifi cannot reach upstair.
- kamarul (8/5): Good landscape - Good place for family and your trip holiday with friends.....
- naz (6/5): Nice close to night market, bank, restorant etc - Nice view. But no parking area. Everything is ok.good for family vacation. Simple residen
- GAN (6/5): convenient - normal
- Ashikin (6/5): Nice place for budget hotel - Nice place for travellers who wants to look for cheap budget hotel. i stay in twin room, quite compact but still ok.It is equipped with hot shower. The surrounding of the hotel is just nice, but a bit small with limited parking. there is not much special or anything that we can see around the place. there is 1 stone table in the small beautiful garden. there is also a cafe (but i didnt got time to eat there). The floor in the room is freezing cold, i have to put on a pair of stocking because there is no carpet in the room. for muslim traveller, there is no qibla showed ( i use my own compass). The receptionists are friendly and easy to communicate with when i ask for informations. The location of the hotel is easy, there is a clear signboard at the junction and is also near to travel agent company where i can just walk from there to rent motorcycle (the receptionist suggest me where to find it). I hope my comments will be usefull for others.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not good for big family - 1) Wifi problem
2) No breakfast
3) No heating water
- wisanu (2/5): Please choose other hotels. - old room but clean , good location but noisy from guests.
- jamie (6/5): - A bit pricey for that kind of room condition......
- Afifi Fahmi (4/5): - It has nice cozy environment, although the toilet is outside room, which what I not expected with this range of price. But overall, its within my travel budget and comfort place to sleep.
- celina (4/5): Noisy - The room is clean and tidy but very noisy. People close the room door and talking outside is annoying and will disturbing your sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just stay one night..Overall Ok with that guest house.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Worst room facilities we've experienced in asia? - We suspected that we were shortchanged by the female manager / boss. We were sold a half-day nature tour package that didn't seem to meet the agreed packaged details promised at the outset. The guide couldn't concur to what the hotel promised
We were given a poorer transport package by booking via this hotel, where we could be given a better bus via booking online. I guess our trust has been misplaced.
The room is in pretty bad shape. The pillows were stained in patches; the hot shower is so difficult, if not impossible, to maintain a comfortable warm temperature. The room sound-proofing was so thin, we could hear from level 3, talkings in level 1! There's not even a fan in the room. This is by far, probably the worst room facilities we've experienced in asia considering its cost.
The other hired staff seem much more reasonable though. Location of the place is still convenient. However, its unlikely you'll find us staying there again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average at best, okay for the price - Location was very close to the main area in Tanah Rata so close to grab some food or onto one of the many bus trips going to tea plantations as well as the main bus station to Kuala Lumpur. The hotel was pretty basic. Rooms had walls that open up like in a conference room meaning that there was no soundproofing or privacy. Had to leave the window open into the hallway to get any airflow into the stuffy room. Had very stained sheets (makeup?) which were thankfully changed on the second day. Shared bathrooms were clean enough and overall the stay was fine for a quick stay and the cheap price. The garden was lovely and the hotel was set back from the road so the only foot traffic was from hotel guests
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - Twin room sharing bathroom very very small, tiny, no real wall dividing rooms.
- sara (4/5): Cheap hotel. 5 minutes walk from main street. - I found hotel over priced for what it was. Bed uncomfortable. Communal TV lounge was bare and TV didnt work.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Twin Room Shared Bathroom - Our room was quite small and basic. The showers in the shared bathrooms were nice and they have a nice big common area. There is also a good selection on the breakfast menu.
- Jean (8/5): Good stay cheap price - Spent 2 days was good for the price
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, basic and cheap - just what a backpacker is looking for! Breakfast costs extra however.
- Chang Phiam (2/5): poor - holiday
- Lucien (4/5): - not so good
cheap
- saharmizah (2/5): Terrible... - Terrible....got dogs in hotel..no parking
- Itchin (4/5): Need a user friendly Homestay - My friends n Me wouldn't recommend it to friends cos of the walking distance, need to be bare footed while the floor is not clean enough.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - poor parking space, u can hear sounds outside your room clearly
- Grant (8/5): Just what's needed. - A little guest house not far from the main road. The room is basic, very basic. A bed, cupboard, table and shower.
No ac ( not really needed) or TV (but it's the Cameron Highlands, if you are in your hotel room watching TV you are doing it wrong). Each floor does have a communal area for TV/reading/sitting.
Nice garden area and a good little restaurant to get a cheap quick breakfast before you start you day.
Hot water is an issue, and WiFi pretty weak.
- Jasmine (2/5): Dissapointed with the room. - We stayed 2 nights at KRS Pine. I wished i only booked for a night so i had the option of changing accomodations. We booked a triple bed room. All of us were bitten by bedbugs. My 9 yr old son woke up at midnight and forced himself to take a cold shower just to sooth the itchiness. The mattresses were thin and not comfortable for sleeping.
There's no hotwater in the shower. No matter what time you took a shower, it was always very cold shower. KRS Pine does have a lovely garden though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location and the staff working there is very helpful
- MR V (6/5): Awful touristic attractions - I think Cameron Highlands is expensive town with touristic services very limited, the tours are not so awesome (some attraction are awful and fake), the food isn't great at all. Therefore you should reduce your expectations about Cameron. About the hostel, Cleanliness ok, the bed was as a rock, Food prepared by the hostel was ok, Staff very friendly and the hostel has a good atmosphere around.
